When the taxi pulled up to Half Blood Hiill, Remi got out of the car with her bag that she brought with her. The two would only be able to spend the day at the camp, both of htem having work the following day. Placing her bag over her shoulder, Remi took Colter’s hand and started up to the entrance of the camp. When they entered into their usual summer home, Nadine ran up to them. “Hey, Remi,” she said, taking Remi’s hands from Colter’s and walking away with the girl. “Don’t worry Colter, I’ll return her back to you later.” The daughter of Demeter started down the hill towards the cabins. “You should come visit me while I’m in college. I’ll promise Colter that I’ll keep an eye on you around guys.” Nadine gave a small smile to her friend, hinting to her sarcasm of the statement. “I’d love to, but I don’t think I’ll have the money to fly out there.” Remi explained to her friend. By this time, they reached the cabins, and Remi entered her own. Plenty of campers looked rather tired from what had happened so far that day, she woke Colter up early to get to the camp, so they’d have more time to spend with at the camp. Nadine followed behind her, “I’m sure that I can pull some strings. I’ll speak with my father.” Nadine explained to her friend as Remi placed her things down by her bed. Marc rose from his bed and gave a small hug to his half sister. “Good morning Marc, how are you doing?” Remi questioned as her brother told her that things were going fine in the camp. “Where’s Sophia?” Rem questioned, scanning the room for her younger sister. “She’s probably wherever Nathan is.” Her brother replied. “Nathan? Wall? The son of Apollo?” Remi was confused hearing about her younger sister spending so much time with the male. Not that she minded her sister spending time with Tristan’s young brother, but she didn’t think that they were very close when she last saw Sophia. “When you moved out of camp they started to spend more time together. I think that they bonded over the fact that their older siblings both moved out of the camp not too long ago.” Remi began to feel guilty for moving away from Sophia so quickly, but she was still happy to be living wither Colter.

Why don’t we go on a walk to the woods?” Nadine questioned, the last time they were in the woods was when during winter break when Remi was back with Nadine. Remi followed her friend outside yet again. She figured that Colter was back in his cabin spending time with his siblings or Jake and Li, so she wouldn’t bother him until later that day. Making their way into the woods, Nadine began to tell Remi about the classes she would be taking the following spring. She was able to get an early registration because of her father talking to some of the people at the school. She wanted to go to the campus early and register there, but she didn’t want to leave camp to go someplace she’d be at the following year regardless. “I’ll take you around, and you can come after I’ve been there for some time, so I’ll have more friends and you’ll be able to meet them.” Remi could already tell how excited Nadine was to head off to college. Considering it was her first choice of school that she wished to attend. “I’m not sure, things are going to get pretty busy around the apartment.” Remi tried to explain to her friend. “A couple weeks before you can take some over time, then Colter will have more money coming from your job for the check, and you can take some time off.” It wasn’t that Remi didn’t wish to visit her friend’s college, but it wasn’t money or her job that she was concerned about. “No, it’s not that Nadine. I would love to visit you and spend time with you, it’s just, we have to start preparing for the baby.” Remi didn’t know how else to tell her friend about the pregnancy. Nadine stopped walking and turned around to face the daughter of Hermes. “What baby?” Nadine asked the girl, her eyes already showing that she was piecing everything together. “We just found out. Everything has been so hectic. I wanted to tell you, but I didn’t know how to, but I don’t want this getting around to everyone. So, can we keep this quiet for now.” Nadine didn’t respond to her friend. Instead she just stared at the girl with wide eyes. After what felt like an hour, she said, “You and Colter are going to have a baby? Well, I’m going to go tell everyone.” Remi truly didn’t want everyone in the camp to know about the child just yet, but before she could beg her friend not to tell, Nadine smiled to her. “I’m just kidding, I won’t tell anyone.

The two continued on their walk around the woods, talking about how life was going in New York City, and what Nadine needed to do in order to be prepared for school in the fall. “Colter is right, you should think about continuing in school. You had better grades than did when we went to school together.” Nadine was telling the truth. Her only strong point was environmental science. She was able to get averages and some B’s in other classes, but her English class showed a D, and that was only because Remi asked Colter to read over their final paper before Nadine turned it in. Their school had a general rule of thumb not to fail a senior unless there was a legitimate reason for doing so, but Nadine’s English teacher truly thought that Nadine would never be able to make it in the world if she didn’t take another high school English class. Remi didn’t completely understand her friends problem with writing papers. She knew that all demigods were dyslexic, herself included, but Nadine was able to write papers for her environmental classes perfectly fine, it was just the English papers that threw Nadine off. She told her father that she would have her friends read over all of her papers before she turned them in, her English teacher had messaged her father about her concern. “I can’t believe that you’re going to have a child. I mean, I was surprised when Eliza turned up to be pregnant. Especially since her and Zeke hadn’t known each other long, and you’re clearly not like that. You two have known each other for a long time, but I didn’t expect you guys to start thinking about a family until after Colter was working and going to school, and before you moved out of that neighborhood.” Remi ‘s eyebrow rose, hearing the girl’s comment about where Cotler and she lived. “I mean, it’s not a bad neighborhood, but I guess, I figured that Colter would want to raise his child in the Upper East Side or something.” Remi rolled her eyes shoving her friend lightly away from her. “Regardless, I’m sure Colter will be a great father.” Nadine teased her friend. “Just remember this when you’re expecting your first child.” Remi warned Nadine. “Who said I’m going to have a child?

                                                      SEEING EVERYONE

Remi spent the rest of her day talking with campers that she hadn’t seen in a while. She was told that Tasha left the camp because something happened to Spencer. Remi wondered what had happened between Tristan and Specner, she had yet to speak with the son of Apollo. She saw her boyfriend walking with the son of Apollo at the camp, but she was talking with her younger sister at the time, and the male seemed determined to get done whatever they were doing. When dinner rolled around, it was the first time she spoke with Colter all day. She met him at his cabin and waited for him to go to dinner together. Throughout the weekend, she continued to have morning sickness, but she found that it usually only stuck around with her for a couple hours a day and would be rather nice to her the rest of the day. However, she didn’t know when it would hit her, and when she wouldn’t be feeling well. She was hoping that she would be one of those people who was able to not experience morning sickness, but that would be too easy for her. “[royalblue]Hey there, how has your day been going?” She said to Colter when he exited his cabin. “It’s going, I’ve talked with Chiron and Tristan, trying to help them figure out his visions.” Remi nodded, knowing that her boyfriend was concerned with the way that the sun wasn’t out all day, and Tristan’s visions that he was having. “Well, let’s not think about that for a half hour.” Remi said, taking his hand and walking with his towards the Mess Hall. Entering the hall, she could tell that Tasha wasn’t back, and she could see the concern on the Aphrodite camper’s. Apparently they all had hearts when it came to hospital visits. Remi concerned asking one of them what they knew, but she would rather hear it from Tasha or Spencer. Picking up a salad and pasta with red sauce, grabbing a cookie for her father, she tossed the sweet treat into the fire. She figured that it would do some good for her father, and it would be awhile until she was able to give another offering to her father. “Please watch over camp and my siblings while I’m not here.” She wondered if her father knew that she was going to be having a child. She considered adding another part to the prayer, about Colter and she in New York, with their child, but hesitated. Deciding not to add onto her prayer she headed to her cabin’s seat and sat down for a meal with her siblings.

Colter was officially concerned. It was June and typically pretty hot, but today was different. It was chilly and rainy like a dreary fall day rather than a summer’s day. It seemed that Tristan’s vision of Apollo in chains might have been more literal than figurative. The sooner they got to camp the sooner he could confer with the others. He could only devote the one day to camp before having to return to the city. Both he and Remi had to work the next day back in the city. They started the day out with a quick breakfast of frosted flakes and then went down to the cab that was waiting to take them to Long Island. Paying the cabbie though he seemed confused to where he was dropping them. Colter explained that they were going to hike and go on a picnic they go back later in the day satisfied the man enough along with his tip and he drove off. Walking hand in hand with Remi they crossed the border into the champ and instantly Nadine was there taking her friend’s hand to pull her away. Colter had other business anyway so he didn’t mind, and he knew Remi needed girl time. As far as he knew Spencer was the only person that knew from camp, and lately that girl was out of her mind. There were photos of her dancing in a nightclub with some actor all over the papers. She needed her girlfriends. Colter wanted to find Tristan first off but as he approached the cabins he was approached by Tori ”Colt!, I’m so glad you’re here.” she said moving to give him a quick hug.

”How’s being the full time head?” he asked her as they trudged towards their cabin. ”It is what it is, you groomed me well.” she told them as they entered. Their televisions were all tuned to different stations. ”Something is going on. Today’s high was supposed to be ninety seven degrees, and not just here.” she told him. All across the nation they were experiencing the same strange phenomena. ”I have a few theories but I’d like to speak with Tristan before I tip my hand.” he told Tori. ”But, while I’m here why don't you give me the report” he asked her hoping she wouldn’t feel too bad about him not sharing his theories just yet.

Someone knocked on the door and Tori got up to answer it as she finished her report on camp safety in his absence. Tristan was on the other side having found him first ”Come in, take a seat.” he told the son of Apollo. Tristan started to update him about the vision of Adira and Rae Lynn. ”Ah well I had a few ideas about that.” he said pulling out the research he had done on Apollo’s items ”Does anything about these jump out at you?” he asked. Tristan shook his head ”No but can I hang on to these?” he asked. Colter nodded ”Sure, I have copies. What about your father? Any more visions about him?” he asked and again Tristan shook his head ”Not since the last one.” he replied. Colter sighed ”That’s fine, will you tell me about everything you can remember about the first vision? The room? The smells? The sounds?” he asked. He listened as Tristan recounted his first vision about his father trying to see if that would give them any clues. ”We need to talk to Chiron and Mr. D. We can’t ignore your vision, look at the weather today. It’s not just us either, it’s June and they hottest it is getting is in the forties and fifties and Arizona is having flashfloods.” he told the son of the sun god. ”You think it has something to do with my vision” he asked. Colter nodded ”Let’s go talk to Chiron.” he said standing up to leave the cabin with Tristan.

As they walked Colter noticed something was off with the son of Apollo ”How’re you holding out?” he asked. Tristan looked as if he might cry for several moments before he managed to answer ”I’d rather not talk about it Colt. I just can’t do it right now.” he told him and Colter nodded ”Fair enough.” he said. ”If anything we should try to see the bright side of life. Congratulations on your baby.” he said becoming more composed as they weren’t talking about Spencer. ”Thank you, we’re nervous but excited all at once. We’re trying to keep it private though, just a few close friends you know?” he said to the other man as they climbed the porch of the Big House ”Of course, no one is going to hear from me. Gossip isn’t my thing.” he said as they entered to find the hero trainer. Chiron was in the living room reading a training scroll when they found him. Luckily Mr. D was somewhere else and they didn’t have to worry about him for the moment as they told Chiron the theories based on his research and Tristan’s visions. Chiron told them if they wanted to take up a quest they should petition for one and he would support it one hundred percent. Colter was a seasoned quester with three under his belt but, it seemed as if Tristan was the likely choice for the quest bearer. ”I think this should be your quest Tristan, but I’m prepared to help you in any way I can.” he told the son of Apollo. ”It’s settled then. Take the day to do what you will and after dinner we will have the meeting and if everyone agrees then Tristan will petition Vega for a quest.” the mentor told them.

Tristan joined Colter at his cabin to do a little bit of strategizing for Tristan’s quest. The FAA grounded all flights due to the extreme weather so they would have to find an alternative means of travel. The fastest means possible would be by a train so they could depart from Grand Central to wherever they were going. Colter told Tristan that he thought she should investigate the desserts, they were the most effected and a domain where his father reigned supreme. Tristan wanted to take Hans, a fellow archer, so Colter advised him to take a hand to hand person. He thought that Tristan would ask him but Tristan assured him that with the baby on the way he would never ask Colt to go with him. He felt grateful that the son of Apollo understood his need to be with Remi. They threw around a couple names but ultimately they decided that he would ask Johan. Charon’s son was good with a blade and he could protect them from the elements and could protect the archers in close combat. They were able to purchase three tickets heading west to Arizona on the nine o clock train out of Grand Central station. With all the planning done that they could do Colter wished Tristan luck as he went to make other preparations for the quest.

                                                                              eating time

After Tristan left Colter wanted to take time to talk to the Athena campers and see what everyone was working on. More than once he found himself missing Remi but he knew she was catching up with her friends that she wouldn’t get to spend time with working through the summer. When his girlfriend met him outside of the cabin he gave her a quick kiss before they started walking. He shrugged ”It’s going, I talked with Chiron and Tristan, trying to help them figure out his visions.” he explained to her. Remi took his hand and told him to push it from his mind for the next half hour ”You’re right Rems; I should try and enjoy myself.” he told her. Entering into the Mess Hall he decided to eat burgers and picnic sides like a cookout. He sacrificed two deviled eggs ”Please guide my family and friends giving us wisdom in all we do.” he said. Jake approached him looking upset ”What’s going on Jake?” he asked. Jake shook his head ”I’m worried. Tasha got this weird call about Spence and rushed off. No one has seen her since.” he said with a worrisome sigh. ”I’m sure everything is fine. Have you tried calling?” he asked looking at his friend. Jake nodded his head ”Yeah, I’m just worried it’s something serious. Spence has been different since she came back from Europe. Parting more and now this break up with Tristan.” he confided in him. ”I’m sure if it was something she couldn’t handle Tasha would call you Jake.” he assured his friend. ”You’re right Colt, anyway are you going to the leader meeting after this or just letting Tori take it over?” he asked. ”I’m going but just to watch. Tori has to step up now that she is Athena’s head.” he told Jacob.

Heading to his table he sat down to eat and was surprised to see that Gideon was sitting at his table eating and making eyes at his ex across the row. ”When did Gideon and Thalia return?” he asked before taking a bite of burger. ”Oh in the middle of April some time. Gideon beat Hades in their game of chess and freed Thalia.” Tori told him. ”She’s been quite smitten with him since they’ve returned.” Charles put in as he ate his dinner of roasted squab. ”That’s great; typically they’d be at one another’s throat. I guess it really is a thin line between love and hate.” he said as he continued to eat. A hush fell over the Mess Hall when Spencer and Tasha entered. The spell broke as whispers started to circulate as Jake rose to go to his fiancé. Spencer was entirely too skinny but she still managed chic as an advertisement for her lifestyle. He wondered what was going on with her but he figured he would find out once dinner was done.

After he was done eating he went to retrieve a large slice of chocolate torte and instead of taking it to Athena he sought out the Hermes table and smiled at Remi ”Want to share?” he offered. With so many kids at Remi’s table it was easy to break the rules and sit with her ”Here comes the owl.” he said flying the bite towards her and making a hooting sound as she closed her full lips around the bite. Seeing a little chocolate on her lower lip he wiped it with his thumb a then popped his thumb in his mouth to taste it ”Oh that is terrible, I won’t make you eat any more of it.” he teased cutting himself a big bite. ”That’s cold Colt.” she said with a pout. Colter shook his head ”That look, that’s cold Remi Wolfgang.” he said leaning in to kiss her ”It’s your trump card.” he said with a grin before feeding her another bite.

After their shared dessert Colter and Remi made their way towards the Big House. He explained that Tristan was going to petition for a quest to regain whatever the demititans had taken and figure out what exactly had gone wrong with the sun god. ”Is that the best idea right now?” Remi asked ”I mean Tristan is great but he and Spencer just broke up. Is he ok to take a quest?” she asked. Colter sighed ”He is upset but I think he needs this to get his head on straight and not think about Spencer for a while.” Colter said as they entered the Big House. A lot of the old cabin leaders had moved on and there was a room full of fresh faces around the ping pong tables. ”Well first I’d like to welcome everyone back to camp this year. Now as I’m sure you’ve noticed something odd is happening. With that being said Tristan has something he would like to put forth.” he said Tristan nodded and looked towards him before starting. He started off with his visions of Rae Lynn and Adira and then went on. A few times he mentioned Colter and the son of Athena gave a nod validating what Tristan was telling them. After his explanation he asked for a second and instantly Tori spoke up ”Athena seconds the quest and moves it to a vote.” she said. Colter was proud of her taking the lead even though he was in the meeting. ”Alright let’s take a vote, all in favor of the quest raise your hand.” Chiron told them. It became clear quickly that Tristan’s would be undertaking a quest. ”Very well you may all go, Tristan we should go talk with Vega.” the centaur said. It was a funny feeling not being included more in the quest, it sort of left him feeling like ‘that was is?’ Standing up he tried to not let it bother him too much, Tristan was a strong hero and he could do this. ”Well we have a few hours before we head back home, how should we spend them?” he asked his girlfriend taking both of her hands and kissing them.

The doctor confirmed what Tasha told her. The rapid weight loss was causing her body to weaken and with all the nicotine and caffeine in her heart was working double time to keep up and she had a heart attack walking for Donna Karen. The doctor’s main concern seemed to be Spencer’s weight loss and tried to talk to her about an eating disorder clinic when she stopped him ”No, I don’t have an eating disorder. I’ve just been under a lot of stress lately and it’s effecting my eating habits.” she told him. After they were done talking he called Tasha back in and prescribed lots of fluids, rest, and 2000 calories a day. Spencer thought she was going to pass out again as the figure came out of his mouth, but Tasha nodded ”I’ll be sure that she eats a balanced diet and gets plenty of rest.” her sister assured the doctor. Once she was free to leave and dressed she checked her phone. She had several missed calls from Stella and several texts. The good news was that de la Renta, Vera Wang, and Hermes all wanted her for campaigns; unfortunately she was going to have to pass. Drafting up a text she told her agent that she was suffering from exhaustion and was taking some time off. She ended by telling her they would talk soon and maybe they would have mimosas on the beach soon. Almost as soon as she sent the text the woman started calling but Spencer just hit the reject button and then turned her phone off.

Tasha had to call for a car and security so that they could enter the loft for Spencer to pack. ”She turned her phone off but here she is.” Tasha said walking into her room. ”It’s your Dad.” she said passing her the phone. ”Hi Daddy.” she said pressing the phone to her ear. ”S.J. are ya alrite then? Steller’s bin blowin’ up meh phone abou ya. She said ya passed out?” her father questioned. Spencer sighed and sat on her bed ”I’ve just not been sleeping since the accident, and I’m just trying really hard to focus on work. The doctor said it was exhaustion and I should take some time off. I figured I’d do the low key thing with Tash, you know out of the city.” she told him. ”Ya sure ya don’t want me ta come ‘ome?” he offered. Spencer knew this was a huge opportunity, captaining the world cup and she wasn’t letting him give it up. ”Daddy, I’m fine. I just need some time out of the spotlight. I want you to focus on the World Cup.” she told him. After a few more words they one another they loved each other and the call was done.

Tasha arranged for a car that would take them to Camp Half Blood. Once they were in the car Spencer found out that there was also food waiting for them in the town car. Spencer made a face eying the Panera bags as she settled in the car. Taking up a water bottle she sipped on it and lit a cigarette avoiding the bag with her name on it as long as she could. Finally she could feel her sister growing impatient and opened the bag ”A Cobb salad? Are you kidding Tash? Bacon, cheese, and avocado?” she said scoffing at the salad. ”Spencer, you love Cobb salads. Eat it, all of it.” she told her. Spencer groaned ”You do realize I am a model right?” she asked her sister. Tasha shook her head ”You’re a demigod and you need more calories than mortals. I’m tired of it Spence. No one wants to be the bad guy and say anything, but if you make me choose between your life and being the bad guy I’ll be the bad guy all day long.” she said blinking away tears. Spencer felt guilty for worry Tasha over something so stupid. Digging in the bag for a fork she found a fruit cup and beget piece as well as the utensil. Popping the lid on the salad she took a bite and swallowed it ”Happy?” she asked. ”I’ll be happy when it’s gone.” Tasha told her.

we could walk faster than this

The drive to camp was long on a good day. The dreary weather had people panicked and they were trying to leave the city according to the driver. With all the traffic it took almost double the time it typical did to get there then what she was used to. Spencer sat miserable, she felt as full of food as she ever had in her life after the Panera meal. Smoking a cigarette and flipping through the French Vogue she smiled ay herself in the glossy pages, and it helped pass her food baby. She finished all three Vogues, American; French; and Italian, by the time they arrived in Montauk. Entering camp they found it dead, everyone was at dinner. Making their way to the cabin Spencer went to her normal bed ”Come on, I’m starving let’s hit the Mess Hall before it closes.” she said. Of course they were eating again.

Not wanting another guilt trip Spencer didn’t protest as they made their way into the Mess Hall. It went silent as soon as they entered, everyone was looking at them. Everyone but Tristan. The son of Apollo refused to look at her but he was the only one. ”Why don’t you make a plate and we’ll meet up at the fires.” Tasha said as Jake moved towards them and conversations started up again. Spencer picked up a plate and wondered what she was going to eat. She didn’t want to eat anymore but she knew that Tasha would never allow it. Grilled chicken breast and some boiled vegetables filled her plat as she waited for Tasha. ”You need a starch and an offering for our mother.” she told Spencer. ”Fine, I’ll be back.” she said turning back to add to her plate. She put brown rice on the plate and then took a few strawberries for her mother and met back up with Tasha who was praying to their mother. Pushing the strawberries into the flames she closed her eyes ’Please help me pass the summer quickly.’ she said before moving with Tasha towards the table.

                                                                              tasha takeover

Tasha was glad that Spence didn’t try to fight her about dinner. Fighting with Spencer was so draining it was like her body was physically resisting the urge to not please her sister. Entering the Mess Hall everyone grew quite looking at them as if they had never seen the Aphrodite siblings. Her fiancé stood from the Hephaestus table and moved towards her. She told Spencer to get a plate and to wait for her at the fires. ”Tash, what’ going on?” he asked. Tasha chewed on her lower lip unsure of what she should say. She knew that Spencer didn’t want anyone to know about her problem but she also didn’t like hiding anything from Jake, and he cared about her too. ”Spencer passed out at work. David’s away and I didn’t want her at home alone, and I really think she might need a break from work.” she told him trying to keep it as honest but general as possible. Jake could tell that she was hedging her answers but he didn’t push it ”No, you did the right thing Tash. I don’t trust Stella to keep her out of trouble.” he said shaking his head ”Me either, actually.” she replied turning to look at Spencer agonizing over food. Her sister never had body issue problems until Stella came into her life, and now she was putting herself in the hospital trying to get thin. ”Alright, well enjoy dinner Babe. I have a meeting after this, but I should be done pretty quickly.” he told her. Tasha nodded and then went to make her plate.

After loading up on sushi Tasha went to meet Spencer and saw her plate ”You need a starch and an offering for our mother.” she told Spencer sending her back to get more food. Pushing a California Roll into the fire she sent a prayer to Aphrodite ’Mother please watch over and heal Spencer.’ As the blonde joined her plate looked better as she made a quick offering and they headed for their table. ”Hey S.J. glad you made it this year.” Clark said with a smile as they sat down. ”It was a last minute decision but here I am.” she said taking a drink of water. Picking up an eel roll she began to eat as some of her siblings mentioned the spreads she had in Italian and French Vogue. Spencer mostly played with her food as she talked and Tasha spoke up ”Guys let her eat, we just spent five hours in a car and haven’t eaten since we left the city; dish later.” she told the others. Spencer started to speak up but she raised a brow and the blonde just sighed and started in on her rice.

After dinner they went back to the cabin and a few of the girls wanted to see the clothes Spencer brought with her from Europe. ”Well I did bring all Europe clothes…” she said with a smile clearly having a better time now that they weren’t in the Mess. Spencer unpacked her things showing them off as she unpacked even trying a few on. ”I hope the weather clears up, because I have to borrow those shorts from you.” Clark said as the door opened. Rex and Jake came in ”Tasha, can I talk to you for a minute?” Jake asked. Tasha got up from her bed and made her way over to Jake ”Let’s go on the porch.” she told him. Going outside she slipped her hand into his ”What’s up Jakie?” she asked. Jake sighed and shook his head ”It’s Tristan, he’s petitioning Vega for a quest right now.” he told her. ”What? Why?” she asked making a face. She hoped he wasn’t making some crazy mistake trying to forget about Spencer. ”He thinks the demititans, are up to something and have captured his father. Colt supports him so I don’t think it’s a fool errand, but with Spencer—“ Jake shrugged unsure of how to handle it. ”It’s ok Babe, I will handle it. I want to go see if I can catch Tristan at the Big House.” she told her fiancé. Jake nodded and kissed her ”Okay, I’m going to my cabin. See you later.” he told her before jogging off the porch.

Tasha left the porch just after him and headed for the Big House Tristan was walking out the door ”Tris!” she started ”I don’t want to be rude Tasha, but I have a lot of things to do at the moment.” he told her. Tasha nodded ”I know you do but just hear me out. Just don’t give up on Spencer. I know it seems bad right now, but she is going through some stuff. Just don’t give up on my sis because I know she loves you.” she told him. Tristan sighed and ran his finger through his hair ”It’s complicated Tasha ok?” he told her. Tasha sighed and nodded her head ”Fair enough. Good luck on your quest Tris.” she told him before turning around to go figure out how to tell Spencer that Tristan was leaving camp on a quest.

                                                                              fashion show

Spencer had to admit that being at camp was sort of nice. She knew her siblings knew fashion and could talk shop, and praise her, all without being competition. She also wasn’t getting paid or growing her brand, and she was probably going to get fat a little voice told her as she decided to sneak out to the porch to have a smoke. Grabbing her purse she left the others to look at her stuff while she waited for Tash to get back from her rendezvous with Jake. Finding a place dry enough to roll on the porch that wouldn’t be completely noticeable was difficult but finally she found one and rolled out a cigarette and then lit it after packing it. After a few good draws the food in her stomach seemed less intense and she started to blow smoke rings. There was no mistaking him, Spencer would know Tristan anywhere. As he climbed the porch stairs she choked in surprise of seeing him. ”Tris?” she asked feeling her heart start to race as he moved closer to her ”Spence, we need to talk.” he said.

xxD.D.D.D.D.DIDN'T I MY DEAR?

Finishing explaining his latest vision to the son of Athena, Tristan watched as the male pulled out some papers with research that he had done. He looked through the notes that Colter took and tried to figure out if he recognized any of the items from his visions. Sadly, he could not place any of them, “No but can I hang on to these?” He questioned Colter, who quickly agreed, informing him that he had a copy of his research. That was something so like him to have already thought ahead about this. Tristan felt as though he wasn’t able to think straight after all that happened between Spencer and him that weekend. Colter continued to question him, asking now about his visions of his father and if he had, had any more. Shaking his head Tristan said, “Not since the last one.” Colter then asked him to go over the vision that he had with his father in it. “It was a dark room, the smell was almost of soil. There wasn’t a lot in the room, that I can remember, although my main focus was on my father. I’m afraid that’s all I can think of, I’m sorry.” Tristan felt as though he should have been able to offer more to Colter, someone trying to help him out. The son of Athena then brought up speaking with Chiron and about how the weather was acting up lately. “You think it has something to do with my visions?” He gave Tristan a nod before standing to head to the Big House.

The son of Apollo followed Colter out of the cabin area and towards the house Chiron was most likely spending his morning. As Tristan walked he noticed Aphrodite children wandering around chatting among themselves. His stomach tightened every time he saw one, and he turned his eyes towards the ground. He hadn’t meant to be so obvious with his emotions, but Colter seemed to realize what he was thinking about. Tristan took a deep breath, trying to avoid thinking directly about Spencer. “I’d rather not talk about it Colt. I just can’t do it right now,” was all he was able to manage. Deciding to change the subject a bit, he thought he’d bring up something happier. “If anything we should try to see the bright side of life. Congratulations on your baby.” He said with a forced smile. It wasn’t that wasn’t excited for the two, but it was hard for him to feel anything other than anger, sadness, and depression as of lately. Colter thanked him, and asked him to not spread around the information too much, they wanted to keep it within their close friends for the time being. “Of course, no one is going to hear from me. Gossip isn’t my thing.” Which was true, Tristan somewhat broke the stereotype on children of Apollo. Most were known to be flirty and top dogs of gossip, but Tristan knew when it was time for him to talk and when he should keep his mouth shut.

Reaching the Big House, they found Chiron sitting alone. Taking a seat with the group, they went over all of the visions as Tristan could remember. Chiron brought up that he believed they should petition for a quest. With Colter and Chiron backing him up, he felt much more comfortable with the idea. They parted ways with Chiron, the activities director telling him to take the day to organize himself, and then they would have a cabin leaders’ meeting after dinner. They headed back to the Athena cabin so that Tristan could talk with Colter more about how to get wherever it was they might be going. He was glad that he took the son of Athena up on his offer of helping. Tristan hadn’t realized that there were flights going out because of the weather. He clearly didn’t stay as up to date on the weather as he should have. They decided that the fastest way of travel would be by train, leaving Grand Central Station. Colter believed that the best place to look first was the desert, seeing as it was a place where his father was known to have control over more than any other area. Tristan didn’t have a better idea, and he learned long ago to trust a child of Athena. When asked who he was thinking about taking, the first name out of his mouth was Hans. After all that the son of Eros had done for him, he knew he could trust him by his side. Colter’s advise was to take someone trained in hand to hand combat, since Hans and he were both better with a bow. He trusted someone like Colter to be by his side, but the instant that he thought about asking the male, he realized there was no possible way he could do that. The son of Athena had a child on the way, and he wouldn’t chance his life and leave Remi alone in New York City. They finally decided on Johan, Tristan wasn’t overly close with the male, but when they were around each other they got along well enough. Besides, he would be as needed around the camp now that all of the older campers were around, they would be able to protect themselves even without Johan’s help to the borders. Colter helped Tristan buy the tickets from New York City to Arizona the following morning. With that out of the way, Tristan got up, “Thanks for all of your help Colter, you’re a great friend.” He said, parting ways with the male and heading back to his own cabin to pack for the quest.

                                            STOMACH-A-GROWLIN

Tristan finished packing up his bag. Glad that he had been on a quest before, he felt as though he was more prepared this time, knowing what he would need to take. When dinner rolled around, he made his way out of the cabin, and headed towards the Mess Hall. Picking up a salad, nice sized steak, and mashed potatoes for himself, he grabbed an orange for his father. He hesitated to throw it in, wondering if his father would even get his offering and could hear his prayers. “Father, I’m going to find you and help you. I don’t know what is going on, but I promise I will do everything in my power to help you.” Tristan thought, before making his way to his seat. His siblings were sitting around him, where they usually were talkative, they seemed to have yawning trains going down the table, one camper would yawn and the rest would follow. The most exciting thing that happened during dinner was when Spencer and Tasha arrived, Tristan had heard his siblings talking about how Tasha left to go get Spencer after a phone call from someone. Tristan gave a quick glance to see who had entered, but when he saw his ex-girlfriend, he turned his attention back to his food. Shoveling the food into his mouth, he got up from his seat, taking his place to the harpy in charge of cleaning up after the demigods. He then headed for the Big House, wanting to be there before any of the other cabin leaders.

It didn’t take long, after Tristan found himself around the ping pong table, for more campers to join him. There were plenty of campers that had already left the camp during the school year that decided to join them. Chiron greeted everyone, but allowed Tristan to have the floor. Standing before everyone, he nodded to them. “Over the last week, I have been getting visions. At first, I didn’t think much of them, but they grew more increasingly worrisome. I came to speak with Chiron as well as Colter West. I told them both about the visions in great detail, just as I will tell you now.” Tristan spoke to the group. He began to go through each vision in as much detail as possible, still leaving out the one with Spencer involved. “I’d like to petition a quest, but I’d need a second.” He was grateful for the daughter of Athena who rose to stand behind him. Chiron then took a vote of the rest of the cabin leaders, hands flying up the moment the words left the centaur’s mouth. He then released the cabin leaders, telling Tristan that they should speak with Vega. The campers parted out of the Big House, telling Tristan good luck as they went. He walked with Chiron to a room on the second floor where Vega and May were living. Chiron knocked on the door first, telling Tristan to wait for a minute as he spoke to the oracle. Tristan did as told, allowing his senior to enter ahead.

Standing, waiting, was almost worse than thinking about the visions he was getting throughout the past week. When Chiron opened the door to the room, Vega and May sat next to each other, their room was clean and well put together. There was now a seat sitting before them, Chiron standing, not able to get up the stairs in his wheelchair, he had to use his horse legs. Taking a deep breath, he sat down, about to petition for the quest before he could speak, Vega’s eyes closed for a second. A green smoke began to fill the room, when the oracle’s eyes opened, they were glowing a bright green color. Her mouth opened to speak and more smoke spilled out.

Alone with bow, three must stand,
To stop the foe, and disband,
Carved from rock, thou shall find,
                                            Power in thy combined,
A dove to release the Raven confined,
Child of love to mend the wound,
If thy fail, Olympus shall be doomed.

Tristan sat stunned as the oracle left Vega, May moving her wife to a lying position. “What just happened?” Tristan asked, rising from the chair to leave Vega and May at peace. Chiron followed quietly behind him, until they got out of the room and down the stairs. “I believe you just got what you wanted. A prophecy, not given as we were expecting, after your petition, but a prophecy nonetheless.” Tristan nodded his head, his question had been more rhetorical than literal. He sat down with Chiron across the table they had just had the meeting. “It’s now your choice who to take. However, I may advise you with the lines of the prophecy, you have to have archers. As well as, a child of Aphrodite and Eros.” Tristan stared at the wall. He knew that Chiron was correct, but he also knew what this meant for him, and the quest. His plan for taking Johan was out of the window, and he only knew of one child of Aphrodite who could use a bow and arrows correctly. He nodded to Chiron, standing he had in mind who he would be taking on the quest. “Thank you Chiron, for the advice.” Chiron gave a nod to the male, saying as he left, “Maybe the gods be with you.

Leaving the Big House, he could feel his knees practically buckling as he walked. Hearing his name be called, he looked up to find Tasha standing before him. “I don’t want to be rude Tasha, but I have a lot of things to do at the moment.” He said, hoping that it would get her to leave him alone for the time being. She went on without leaving him alone, as he had expected. Those daughters of Aphrodite could be rather stubborn. She went on about not giving up on Spencer because her sister was going through a rough time. Tristan didn’t care to have a lecture at the moment, but he ran his hand through his hair, trying to think of a way to answer Tasha. He wasn’t able to lie to her, but it wasn’t easy to explain. “It’s complicated Tasha okay?” Was the best way he was able to explain. Tasha turned to part ways with him, and he walked down the hill ahead of her towards her cabin. He could see Spencer sitting on the porch smoking as he neared the cabin. Walking onto the porch, he could see the surprise in her eyes as he stepped closer to her. “Spence, we need to talk.” He took a deep breath before continuing. “I don’t know what’s going on between us, and frankly, right now, I don’t care. However, my father is in danger, and the prophecy says that I need a child of Aphrodite that can handle a bow and arrow. I don’t know anyone else but you, so if you would join me on my quest, you’d be doing me a big favor.” He tried his best to withhold any remarks about the fact that she had her phone changed and hadn’t even contacted him. He decided that the best thing to do now was to focus on his father. He gripped the railing around the porch, taking another deep breath, holding in his emotions. He couldn’t allow himself to become emotional now. He had the weekend to be pathetic, but now he needed to focus on his quest. Staring at the ground, he sighed lightly, “Anyways, if you could just think about it. I need to go speak with someone else, but, if you could give me an answer soon, I’d appreciate that.

Tristan began to walk away from Spencer when the ex-cabin leader stopped him. “What’s going on here?” Tasha demanded from him. It was likely that she caught the last of their conversation. “I was just speaking to Spencer about my quest.” He could see a couple of emotions flash over Tasha’s face, the predominate ones being shock and anger. “Tristan, Spencer’s not healthy right now, how could you ask her to go on a quest in her state?” Tristan looked away from Tasha, he didn’t want to hear what Tasha had to say. He had already listened to her once before that night. “Trust me Tasha, I don’t have much of a choice here. If it were up to me I wouldn’t have asked her either.” Tasha didn’t seem to want to accept his statement, and they had started to create a scene on the porch. Rex had opened the front door of the cabin and there were campers peeking out through the windows. “Look, it’s up to you Spencer, my father is something I happen to hold close to me. So this quest is important to me, and I think it’s the least you could do after not walking out on me without an explanation and changing your number and not even calling me once this entire weekend.” He hated himself for the tears welling up in his eyes. He moved past Tasha, she moved her hand to his arm, but he shoved her off, walking quickly away from their cabin.

He was planning on going back to his own cabin, but instead his feet moved him towards the minor gods cabin. He knew he needed to speak with Hans, but he thought it’d be better after he calmed down. Somehow, he still ended up on the Eros’ porch. Knocking lightly, he found his ex-girlfriend standing before him when the door opened. “I need to speak to Hans.” He managed out, wiping his the tears that spilled down from his eyes, streaming down his face. Olivia hesitated, but allowed him into the cabin. His closest friend was sitting on his bed, but when he noticed Tristan, he put down the book he was reading and rose from his bed. “Tristan, what’s going on?” It was clear that he was upset. One of their newer campers gave him an odd look, Hans told him that her name was Kat, but he didn’t know too much about her, other than the fact that Hans didn’t seem to get along with her. “I’m fine.” He tried to say as Hans grabbed a Kleenex box. “I was actually just stopping by to ask you if you would be willing to join me on my quest this summer? We leave in the morning.” Hans’ eyes widened when he heard the request. “Of course, who else is going on the quest with us?” Tristan looked at his friend. A moment of silence sat between them before Hans figured out whom Tristan had asked. “Spencer?” He had a confused look on his face. “Is that a good idea?” Tristan shrugged, “It’s not in my hands now.” Hans walked out of the Eros cabin and walked back to the Apollo cabin, talking about their plans for the following morning. They would be allowed to leave before usual, the harpies would not stop them from leaving their cabins. They would have to get into the van, that Argus would be driving, by three thirty in the morning, to ensure that they weren't late for catching their train, with the weather being as terrible as it was.

Finishing eating her meal, she noticed Colter walking over to her table. He took a seat next to her, she was about to tell him to get back to his own table, but she realized that he was carrying a piece of chocolate torte cake with him. She smiled as he offered to share with her. He cut off a piece with the fork in his hand, moving it towards her through the air. She felt rather childish seeing him do this, but she opened her mouth and allowed him to feed her. It was pleasant being able to act like a couple for the first time in a while. Colter took a small bit of cake from her lip, eating it himself. Making a made a joke about it being terrible and how she should not continue eating it. “That’s cold Colt.” She said, pressing her lips together into a pouting look. He commented that her look was truly what was cold. He then leaned in and gave her a kiss before feeding her another bite of cake. As they finished eating, they got up from their seat and headed towards the Big House.

Remi knew that it was time for Marc to take over the cabin, but she was interested in hearing what happened at the cabin leader meeting. She figured that it wouldn’t do too much harm for her to sit in, Colter was as well, so she should be able to listen to the meeting. Colter told her, on the way to the Big House, that Tristan would be petitioning for a quest during the meeting. “Is that the best idea right now? I mean, Tristan is great, but he and Spencer just broke up. Is he okay to take a quest?” She was concerned for the well being of the male. Colter told her that he thought the son of Apollo was upset, but the best thing for him might be to get his mind off his ex-girlfriend. Remi still felt worried about how he would be on the quest after everything that had been happening to him. Chiron welcomed everyone back to camp for another year, and then gave the floor to Tristan to explain the visions he was having and bringing up the fact that he was interested in petitioning a quest. When he asked for a second, Tori was quick to speak up. Chiron then took a vote from the rest of the campers. Marc’s hand rose in favor of Tristan going on a quest, and Remi began to wonder if she was the only one concerned about him taking on a quest. Chiron released the rest of the group, only wanting Tristan to stay to speak with Vega. Remi stood with Colter, watching him kiss both of her hands lightly, asking her what they should do with their time left. She took one hand away from him and began to walk out of the Big House, knowing exactly what they should do with their time left.

She walked away from the main section of the camp, moving hand in hand with her boyfriend. As much as Mr. D usually bothered her, she was glad to hear him say that they could keep the Pegasus, they met on her quest, in the stables. When they reached the stables she found Ava standing looking rather bored in her individual pen. “Hey there girl.” Remi said, leaving Colter’s side and making her way to the Pegasus. Placing her hand on the nuzzle of the Pegasus, Remi smiled to Colter. “We should take her out for a walk.” Remi said, opening the door to the Pegasus’ pen. Ava instantly walked out of the pen that she was being held in. Remi knew that Ava must hate being trapped inside of the stables at camp, but it was the safest place for her to stay, and she got free meals from the camp. Ava led the way out of the stables, giving Colter a small push since he was in her way from getting outside. Remi reached her boyfriend, and took his hand back in hers. “I’ve missed seeing her.” The last time that she was in the camp, after her quest, she spent a lot of her time in the stables. She followed the mare out of the stables with her boyfriend. “We should talk to Tristan before we leave. Figure out who he’s going to take on the quest, as long as he actually got the quest.” There were plenty of times that demigods petitioned for quests, but it wasn’t a quest for them, or it wasn’t the right time for a quest. Ava began to graze on the grass around the stables. Hearing something from the woods, Remi reached down, grabbing her dagger that she always carried around with her now. “Whose there?” She was surprised to see a male exit from the woods, his hands over his head as to show that he was innocent.

I’m very sorry, I didn’t mean to freak you out.” Remi had never seen him around the camp before, and she didn’t lower her weapon. “Who are you?” She asked, unsure if she should trust the male. “My name is Wyatt Paskach, I’m a son of Notus.” Remi moved her weapon down, into a less threatening pose, but turned to Colter for a second. “Notus?” she whispered. She knew that she should know more about the Greek gods, but it was hard for her to keep track of all of the minor gods and goddesses. “God of the summer and the Spirit of the South Wind.” Colter answered her confusion. She was about to put her dagger away when she saw a long vine wrap its way Wyatt’s leg. The son of Notus tripped and hit the ground. Remi stepped about to cut the vine, when the grass grew in her way from getting to Wyatt. “Don’t hurt the nature.” Nadine said, making her way out of the woods. “Nadine, that’s not fair.” He said to the female, as he began to pull the vine away from his leg. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I think it’s fair, it’s what I was born able to do. Unless you’re telling me that you don’t like the way I was born, and then, that’s just harsh.” The daughter of Demeter said to the newer camper. “Nadine?” Remi questioned, raising her brow to the girl and glancing at the boy on the ground. “Oh, Remi, Colter, I forgot that you don’t know Wyatt. He’s new to camp. He came three days ago, and Chiron had me show him around since there aren’t any other Notus campers to show him around.” Remi given her a small smirk, knowing that her good friend was clearly spending quite a bit of time with this new camper. “Wyatt, this is my best friend Remi Alba, she’s a daughter of Hermes. And this is her boyfriend Cotler West, he’s a son of Athena.” Nadine introduced the three. Remi nodded to the male, realizing that she turned her eye away from Ava. She glanced around and could no longer see the Pegasus in sight. “Colter, where did Ava go?” Nadine laughed, “Took her eye off her? She disappears if you don’t watch her closely, I don’t think she gets enough free time outside of the stables.

Remi waved off her friend, as Nadine and Wyatt headed back into the woods. She looked around the area, “It can’t be that hard to find her, can it?” Remi questioned, looking around for the Pegasus that left their sight. “Ava! You need to come back here now! This isn’t funny.” She called, hoping that the Pegasus would listen to her. Thankfully, not long after she called, she could see the Pegasus gliding through the sky towards them. With Ava on the ground again, she turned to Colter, “Maybe now would be a good time to go visit with Tristan?” She offered to Colter. Walking back towards the stables, Ava didn’t look pleased with the idea. “Ava, we can’t leave you out here, as much as I would like to let you be free to fly. We’ll be back in no time, I’m sure Nadine will let you out, I’ll tell her to make sure you get out at least once a day, how does that sound?” The Pegasus still seemed unpleased with Remi’s request, but moved back into the stables and allowed Remi to lock the pen up once more. When she finished with the Pegasus, she walked back to the cabin area with Colter beside her, making small talk as they walked.

Reaching the cabins, she found that there was somewhat of a buss moving through the camp. She wasn’t overly shocked, after all, someone was just given a prophecy, there was usually rumors moving around the camp when things of the sort happened. They reached the Apollo cabin and knocked lightly. Hanna was the one to open the door first. “Hi, Hanna, we’re looking for Tristan.” The young daughter of Apollo stepped out of the way so that Remi and Colter could pass her. Tristan was standing by his bed, he had a backpack sitting on it and he was clearly trying to ensure that he had everything that the needed for his quest. She approached his bed with Colter,, taking a seat at the end. Tristan almost jumped when he realized that the two were in the room. “Remi, Colter, sorry I didn’t realize you guys were in here.” She could tell that he was rather flustered by everything that was going on. This wouldn’t be the first quest that he had gone one, but it was the first one that he would be leading. “So, I’m guessing you got the prophecy that you petitioned for?” Remi asked, peeking into his backpack to see what he had packed already. “It was kind of given to me without asking. I walked into the room, and was about to ask for it, when Vega gave the prophecy to me.” Remi’s eyes widened, wondering what this meant exactly. She knew that quests were given at random, when the time was right. Hers was given to her by chance or fate, whichever people believed more. “Who are you taking with you?” She figured that Colter had talked to the male about who he should take. The son of Athena was good with helping things of that sort, when he wasn’t able to help out by going on the quest himself. He could give out the advice needed, almost always. Tristan was staring at his backpack, not saying a word for a minute. She wasn’t sure why he wasn’t telling them whom he was taking with him.

I know that we decided I would as Hans and Johan, but with the prophecy said that I needed two others that could use a bow and arrow, and they had to come from the Eros and Aphrodite cabin.” Remi did think that the quest would be that picky, but her own quest had called for Colter, a child of Apollo, and a child of Aphrodite as well. It just didn’t have anything about weapons. It took her a minute to realize what exactly Tristan meant when he was talking about his prophecy and who he asked to go with him. “Wait, the only child of Aphrodite who uses a bow as their main weapon is Spencer.” Remi remarked, glancing at Tristan with a confused expression on her face. “Yeah, she is.” Remi’s eyes widened when it hit her that, that meant he would be asking her to go on the quest with him. “Have you already asked her?” Colter added in. Tristan simply nodded his head. “I just got back from asking her and Hans to go on the quest with me.” Remi could understand why Tristan was being short answered with them, but she wanted to know the outcome of request Spencer gave to Tristan. “And?” Remi pressured him on to give her an answer. “And then I got into a fight with Tasha, and Spencer still has yet to respond to me.” Tristan explained, shoving the backpack away from him and sitting down on the bed to rest his head in his hands. She probably shouldn’t have pushed him to answer their questions, but she knew she wasn’t the only one in the cabin interested in knowing what happened. Half of his siblings were eavesdropping on their conversation. Taking a step back, she whispered to her boyfriend, “I’m going to go talk to Spencer,” with that she left the Apollo cabin.

Making her way to the Aphrodite cabin, she could see campers sitting around gossiping. Lightly knocking, she waited until Tasha opened the door. “Hey, I was just wondering if I might be able to talk to Spen-” “I don’t think now is the best time. Spencer needs some rest.” The ex-cabin leader said to the daughter of Hermes. Remi was annoyed that she wasn’t being allowed to talk with Spencer. She understood wanting to protect her sister, but Remi just wanted to talk. Although, she realized after her conversation with Tristan, she might not be the right one to talk with Spencer about the quest. “It’s okay Tasha, Remi can come in.” Remi could hear from behind the girl at the door. She seemed to hesitate, but allowed Remi into the door. Glancing around the room she could see Clark sitting with Jake and Spencer, Tasha joined them when the door was shut. Eliza was relaxing on her bed. She was clearly showing now, and Remi could help but lightly move her hand towards her stomach. When she realized what she was doing, she moved her hand back to her side, turning to Spencer, who got up from where she was sitting with her sisters and Jake to join her. “Hey, why don’t we talk somewhere more private.” She could feel Tasha’s eyes on her, almost a warning to not push to hard or she’d regret it. They made their way back out onto the porch, taking a seat on the steps. “I heard that Tristan asked you to go on the quest with him.” Remi said, not knowing where she was going with the daughter of Aphrodite. “What’s been going on Spencer? Everything has been changing since you got back from Europe.” She wasn’t as close as Spencer’s siblings were to her, but she hoped that Spencer would be honest with her.

Colter wasn’t surprised that Remi wanted to go to the stables. Between her best friend being a daughter of Demeter and Pegasus that saved them living there it was one of her favorite spots. Colter was right when he thought that Mr. D wouldn’t turn Ava away, as a result she now resided in the stables. ”We should take her out for a walk.” Remi suggested after they greeted Ava. He wasn’t sure Ava appreciated being “taken” on a walk like a cur, but he knew she would want to stretch her wings no matter what the weather; after all she had lived in the wild her whole life. ”I know Rems, me too.” he told his girlfriend taking her hand and moving to follow Ava. Colter felt guilty about them not being able to stay the summer. They would miss their family; friends; and Ava, but with everything going on in their lives they couldn’t go to camp. Not only was it not fiscally sound it also seemed like things were heating up with the demititans and that was the last thing that their baby needed.

Ava went to graze as they walked hand and hand by the woods. ”I’m sure that Vega gave him a quest. She is the Oracle of Delphi, dedicated to Apollo.” he told Remi. They heard a noise behind them. Colter didn’t find it odd as it was camp and demigods often used the stables or woods as a place to hide from the prying eyes of the fauns. Remi, however, was particularly jumpy as she pulled out her dagger demanding to know who was there. The son of Athena didn’t recognize the blond exiting the woods with his hands held out showing he meant no harm. He looked well-built and the outdoor type almost like a young blonde Brawny man. Colter thought Remi was being a little foolish, but her hormones were probably out of whack. It wasn’t as if she could just stab him there even if he was a demititan; he would need to be questioned. If he attacked them Colter would easily put himself between them and handle it. He introduced himself as Wyatt, a son of Notus. Remi lowered her blade but she didn’t put it away as she questioned who his godly parent was ”God of the summer and Spirit of the South Wind.” he filled in for his girlfriend. As far as Colter knew that made him the only resident of the Notus cabin. Satisfied that Wyatt wasn’t going to hurt them Remi was going to cut him loose from the vine when Nadine approached them warning against cutting the vine. It seemed that the daughter of Demeter was showing him around in lieu of one of his own sibling. ”Good to meet you Wyatt.” he said shaking the new comer’s hand after Nadine introduced him.

Remi noticed that the mare was gone asking where she had gone ”She must have flown off while we were chatting Wyatt up.” he said to his girlfriend. They started to look for Ava, calling out to her. Colter tried to use the signaling system they had worked out, but apparently it didn’t apply when his life wasn’t in danger. He supposed that to Ava they must look pretty silly walking around calling out for her to come down. Eventually, she came back down from the sky. As they walked towards the sables Remi suggested that they go see Tristan ”That’s a good idea, I’d like to hear his prophecy.” he told his girlfriend thinking back to her earlier doubt if Tristan would receive a quest. Waiting for Remi to get Ava settled in he waited with Wyatt ”So does Nadine have a boyfriend?” the new comer asked. Colter shook his head ”No, I don’t think that she does.” he told him as the girls exited the stables ”It was good to meet you.” he told the son of Notus. Taking Remi’s hand they headed back towards the cabins. ”So how was Sophia?” he asked her. Remi shook her head ”I didn’t really get to see her, she spent the entire day with Nathan.” she grumbled. Colter gave her hand a squeeze ”It’s probably puppy love, it’ll pass.” he told her. They continued on talking about the day they had spent at camp. Remi was fortunate enough to have spent time socially at camp; most of his day was spent in strategy meetings.

Arriving at Apollo cabin he knocked and waited about thirty seconds before Hanna, the youngest camper at Camp Half Blood, opened the door. Passing by her he followed Remi to where Tristan was looking at his bag contemplating it. Tristan almost seemed startled when Remi sat at the edge of the bed. Clearly Tristan was a little anxious more than he should have been. He knew what he was asking for and he had a reasonably good plan. ”Well Vega is connected to Apollo, it makes sense she would connect with you.” he said nodding. Apollo had also given visions to Tristan so it wasn’t surprising that she would feel compelled to read prophecy to him. ”He is taking Hans, his best friend and Johan.” Colter filled in for Tristan when he hesitated. As Tristan started to explain that the plan had gone south he realized quickly how far it had gone. He had to take all archer, and from Eros that was easy. There were very few serious fighters in Aphrodite, and he only knew of one archer: Spencer. Remi was familiar with the archer from Aphrodite from her own quest. It was the elephant in the room. There was no way around it; Tristan had to take Spencer on his quest. ”Have you asked her?” he asked his friend. Tristan explained that he had tried to ask Spencer but had fought with Tasha and left without an answer from his ex. ”Sure, I’ll catch up in a little bit.” he told his girlfriend as she made her exit.

”So other than naming your partners what else did your prophecy say?” he asked the son of Apollo. Tristan recounted his prophecy from Vega so he could commit it to memory. ”Carved from stone… that seems familiar. Do you still have that research I gave you?” he asked the son of Sun God. Tristan nodded and after a few minutes he produced the papers Colter had asked for. Scanning the paper Colter was able to find what he was looking for ”Apollo’s bow, the Apollo Bolt is said to be the father of all bows. No mortal man may fire the bow without suffering the wrath of Apollo. In times of peace Apollo houses his bow in his temple, deep in the basin of the Grand Canyon so that all may see his might.” Colter read aloud from the page. ”I would start there; it’s carved from rock and in the desert. If nothing else you may find another promising lead.” he told Tristan. ”Thanks, that’s great Colt.” Tristan said with a nod though his voice sounded hollow. Colter could tell that the addition of Spencer to the quest was really throwing the son of Apollo, and he didn’t blame him. Last winter when he was forced to quest with his ex it was hard. The success of the quest depended on them working as a tight unit that was hard to achieve after a break up. ”Sure, if you need anything while you’re out there I’ll help you if I can, I’m just an Iris message away” he told Tristan with a nod. ”I appreciate it Colt.” Tristan told him ”I wish I could help you more, but with the baby and work-“ he started but Tristan cut him off saying that he understood and that he needed to be with Remi. ”Speaking of Remi, I should find her. Argus is taking us back pretty soon so we need to say our goodbyes and head back.” he told Tristan. ”Sure, I’ll walk you out. I was about to step out for a cigarette anyway.” Tristan told him. As they opened the door Colter was a little surprised to see the leggy blonde pacing the porch of Apollo cabin ”Spence?” Tristan asked. Spencer looked as if she had been caught with her hand in the cookie jar, well minus the cookie ”Tris, and uh Colt, hey.” she said a little awkwardly. Clearing his throat Colter looked between them ”I’m just going to let you two talk.” he told them. ”Thanks, oh Remi said if I saw you to let you know she was going to Hermes.” she informed him. Colter nodded ”Great, thanks Spencer. Good luck you two.” he told them before stepping off the porch thankful to be clear of the awkward air between the former lovers.

Colter decided to swing by his cabin once more to say a quick good bye to his siblings and find Jake before heading to Hermes cabin. The head of Hephaestus was with his fiancé who was steaming about Spencer’s involvement with the quest. ”I just don’t think it is a good idea, and I wish you would back me on this Jake.” she said as Colter approached the Aphrodite porch where they were arguing. Not wanting to butt in he opted to text Jake later and veered away from the love cabin in favor for the cabin of his love. Knocking on the door Sophia answered ”You just missed her, she went to talk to Nadine.” the young girl told him. ”Thanks Sophia.” he told her with a nod ”Take care of yourself.” he told her before leaving Hermes in search of Remi. Heading to Demeter cabin Colter couldn’t but help and think about Herbert. It had been nearly a year since he and Akira had run off during the Fourth of July celebration. At first Herbie’s disappearance baffled him, but eventually Li confided in him that Herbert had noticed Remi’s attraction to him and left. It was no secret that Akira had left because of his whirlwind romance with the daughter of Zeus. It made the son of Athena feel a little guilty as if he and Remi had chased them out of camp even though their love was Aphrodite sanctioned. Reaching Demeter he found Remi on the porch with Wyatt and Nadine ”There you are Remi Wolfgang.” he said with a smile moving to kiss her cheek. Remi returned the kiss and greeted him ”Do we need to head to the Big House?” Remi asked looking up at him. Colter nodded ”Yeah, we should head that way. You know how Argus feels about tardiness.” he told her. ”You’re right.” she sighed unhappily knowing that if they were late they would not hear the end of it until they got out of the camp’s van. ”I guess we’re going. I’ll text you when we get home.” Remi told her friend giving her a hug. ”Good to see you Nadine.” he said giving her his own platonic hug as Remi said goodbye to Wyatt.

Leaving the cabins they headed to the Big House to meet up with Argus. Despite the fact that they weren’t late for when they arranged to head back to the city the man still seemed perturbed at their timing. Once they were on the road and Colter had Remi nuzzled against him ”So how’d it go with Spencer?” he asked her. Remi sighed and shook her head ”She’s going but--” she sighed again ”something is off with her and she wouldn’t talk to me about it.” his girlfriend told him. Colter kissed the top of Remi’s head ”I’m sure she’ll be alright, Spencer’s strong.” he said trying to reassure the daughter of Hermes. Remi didn’t seem convinced and he could tell it was bothering her ”Tristan will look out for her.” Colter assured her ”I know, it’s just I hope it’s enough.” she said looking up at him. Kissing her once more he started to rub her back ”All we can do is ask for the Gods to watch over them, and believe in our friends.” he told her. ”You’re right Colt.” she said though her tone was still worrisome. Colter decided to change the subject and brought up Nadine and the new comer hoping it would be less stressful on his baby’s mother.

Spencer wanted to tell Tristan he should ask Gillian beings he thought she was such a fitting fill in, but she was probably better at blow jobs than bow and arrows. She thought of telling him to take Rex, he was a fighter and he could probably fire a bow, probably. The problem was that as much as he had hurt her she couldn’t refuse him. He needed an archer from Aphrodite, he needed her, and she couldn’t turn him away. She wished she could be different; she wished she could tell him no and not bat a lash. As he went to leave she took a step towards him to stop him ”Tris-“ she said as Tasha flung the door open ”What’s going on here?” she asked looking between them. Spencer knew that Tasha wasn’t going to be happy about her going on this quest, but Tris needed her. As expected Tasha got upset with Tristan telling him that Spencer shouldn’t go because she wasn’t healthy enough. They were causing a scene which made Tristan’s words cut deeper when he said that if it was up to him he wouldn’t have asked Spencer on the quest. ”Then maybe you should find another archer from my cabin. Anyone else ever shoot Medusa through the eye?” she asked looking to her eavesdropping siblings. Everyone looked away as if the structure of their cabin was suddenly really interesting. ”No? How about furies? Hell hounds? The hydra maybe?” she asked with a shrug waiting for someone else to step forward. ” Look, it’s up to you Spencer, my father is something I happen to hold close to me. So this quest is important to me, and I think it’s the least you could do after not walking out on me without an explanation and changing your number and not even calling me once this entire weekend.” as he spoke his voice was thick with emotion as he spoke and tears welling in his eyes before he exploded off the porch.

Spencer wanted to scream and tell her siblings that her life wasn’t some tabloid and that they should go inside. She couldn’t believe him acting as if the break up was her fault because she broke up with him. He was the one that was ignoring her for another girl. She was willing to walk away from half of her clients to make him feel more secure about their relationship. He refused to acknowledge the fact they had been together for a year and instead wanted to sing about cheating with Gillian. Now he was acting like the victim. ”Why don’t you guys go inside.” Tasha suggested moving to wrap her arms around Spencer. The blonde could feel the burn of tears building in her nose and behind her eyes before she started to cry. ”Oh Spence.” Clark said moving to hug Spencer as the other children of Aphrodite ducked back into the cabin. . After a few minutes Spencer managed to stop crying and wanted to finish the cigarette she had started to calm her nerves. ”How can I love someone who hurts me so much?” she asked holding her cigarette with a shaking hand. ”Why is he being such as a*****e? I mean I don’t even know what he’s talking about. Changed my number?” she said shaking her head. Clark made a face ”I thought you just got a new number this week? You changed it again?” she asked. Spencer exhaled and shaking her head ”What are you talking about Clark?” she asked. ”Spencer you got a new number Saturday morning. Everyone got a mass text with you new number.” her sister explained. ”What? No, I got a new phone not a new number.” the young woman protested. ”Are you sure about that? What did the guy at the store say?” Clark asked. Spencer shrugged ”Like I bought my own phone? Come on Clark, walking into a mobile store would be suicide.” she said. Then it started to make sense, Stella. The woman could have easily changed her number without her knowing it, and it was no secret how she felt about Tristan. ”Do you think I could have a couple minutes?” she asked her siblings. Tasha and Clark nodded and headed back inside.

Spencer took out her phone and dialed Stella’s number. Before the first ring was done her agent was on the other end ”Spencer, are you feeling better? Where are you staying, I’ll catch flight out within the hour—“”Did you change my number this weekend?” she asked cutting the woman off. ”Of course I did Sweetie, I thought-“”Well you thought wrong and now you’re fired.” she said hotly cutting the woman off once more then hanging up the phone. Half a second passed and Stella called her back growling in frustration she launched her phone off the porch ”Whoa, easy there Tiger. Didn’t I just fix this phone?” Jake asked catching the device as he approached. Spencer nodded ”Sorry, I know.” she said taking the phone back and then hitting the reject button as the phone started ring once more and she shook her head handing it back to him. ”I hate this stupid thing.” she said looking at Stella’s image in disgust. ”It’s not the phone’s fault. You just need to learn how to use your block feature.” he told her taking the device, his fingers gliding across the touch screen ”There, no more Stella.” he said offering it back to her. True to his word Stella’s image didn’t pop back up ”Thanks Jake.” she said giving a weak smile. ”Come on let’s go inside, it’s cold out here.” Jake said knocking into her. Spencer nodded ”Yeah ok.” she said standing up.

Going inside Spencer moved to her bed and pulled out a pair of Bermuda shorts and laid them out. ”Are you going?” Clark asked coming over to her bed ”After he was such a jerk?”. Spencer stopped and shook her head ”It doesn’t matter how he treated me, he needs me.” she told Clark. ”Oh my gods Spencer you still love him.” she swoon sitting down on her bed. Spencer rolled her eyes ”Of course I still love him.” she said sitting down and joining Clark. ”Hey, Tasha just told me Tristan asked you on his quest.” Jake said coming over with his fiancé. Spencer nodded ”He needs an Aphrodite archer, and that is me.” she said. ”He’s the best archer at camp, he doesn’t need you.” Tasha said shaking her head. ”Well the powers that be disagree.” she told Tasha. ”If that’s what his prophecy says Tasha—“”What? Jake I can’t believe you right now.” Tasha said angrily throwing her hands up. There was knock at the door and she shook her head ”I’m going to get that. Hopefully it’s a sane person.” she said moving to answer the door. ”Hey, I was wondering if I might be able to talk to Spencer” she heard Remi ask from the door. Tasha was ready to turn her away when Spencer spoke up ”It’s ok Tasha, Remi can come in.” she said.

Standing up she moved to the daughter of Hermes ”Hey Rems.” she greeted. ”Sure we can sit on the porch.” she nodded when Remi asked if they could speak in private. Going outside with Remi she sat down ”So what’s up?” she asked. When she brought up Tris’ quest Spencer nodded ”Yeah he just asked.” she said. Remi didn’t live under a rock so she probably knew that they had broken up and wanted to know what was going to do. ”What’s been going on Spencer? Everything has been changing since you got back from Europe.” she asked. Spencer was taken back and shook her head ”Nothing, it’s nothing.” she told her. Remi looked as if she didn’t buy it for a second ”Come on Spencer, it’s not nothing.” Remi insisted ”You’re right, it’s not nothing. I’m just growing up, my life is changing. I mean some people get engaged, some people get pregnant, and some people become international super models.” she shrugged. ”Spencer, that’s not fair.” Remi said shaking her head. ”I don’t know what you want me to say Remi. I’m fine, I’m one of the hottest models in the industry. People either want to date me, be friends with me, or be me. My life is perfect.” she told her friend. Remi sighed ”Ok Spence, but if you decide it isn’t perfect, I’ll be here.” she said. ”I know you’re just being a good friend Rems, but I’m fine. I’m going to go on Tris’ quest and finish the summer then go back to my normal life.” she told the pixie haired girl ”Look, I should go back in. I need to pack and talk to Tris.” Spencer said standing up. Remi nodded and pushed herself up ”Sure, stay safe.” she said ”Hey, if Colt comes looking for me let him know I went back to my cabin.” she tacked on. Spencer nodded ”Yeah for sure Rems.” she said before going back inside.

Spencer hadn’t planned on going on a quest or for cold weather so she packed as well as she could. She had a few golden drachmas that she got from Tasha, and her credit cards in case they needed funds, godly or otherwise. After reviewing her pack several times she realized she was just putting off talking to Tristan. There were so many things she wanted to say to him, but there was really only one thing that he wanted to hear from her and that was a yes. ”I guess that’s it then.” she sighed. Tasha shook her head ”You don’t have to do this Spencer.” her sister said. Spencer shook his head ”You’re wrong Tash, I do have to go.” she sighed. ”You don’t owe him anything Spencer. How do you know that he’s even telling the truth?” she asked. Spencer leveled a look at Tasha ”Tris is the world’s worst liar.” he couldn’t lie and he really couldn’t lie to her. He needed her for his quest, and she still loved him even if he wanted Gillian. ”I’m Aphrodite’s archer.” she acknowledged ”I’ll go tell Tris the good news.” she added heading for the door.

She left her own cabin and went to the Apollo cabin and paused. She had never really been nervous of the cabin, even before dating Tristan she had always favored the sun god’s sons. Biting her lower lip she decided that she needed a plan. She knew that he only wanted to hear about the quest and he might cut her if she started on a different tangent if she had to stumble through it. She wanted him to know that she didn’t know that her number had changed. She also wanted Tris to know that she wasn’t stupid she could put two and two together and get four. Spencer started to pace rehearsing her speech in her head when the door flew open. Tristan and Colter were standing in the door right in the middle of her rehearsal catching her off guard ”Tris, and uh Colt, hey” she greeted swallowing the lump in her throat. Gods he looked good, and she hated the way she wanted to go into his arms. Colter excused himself and she thanked him and let him know that his girlfriend was at her own cabin before he left. ”Hey.” she said as he moved out and shut the door behind him. ”You said that already.” he said flatly. Spencer rolled her eyes ”Well, I just wanted you to know that Stella changed my number when she replaced my phone. I literally found out like forty five minutes ago and fired her for it. But if you want to know why I didn’t call you is because I’m not stupid. I can see what’s going on with you and Gillian, and then you sing that song. Yeah, it was really wrong of me to slap Hans he didn’t deserve that. But, how am I supposed to react when you basic confess to cheating in front of hundreds of people? Oh, right before our anniversary too?” she felt tears welling up in her eyes and gave her head a slight shake to reign the tears in. ”And the crazy thing is that after all that I’m still going to leave with you in the morning to help rescue your father. I’m already packed.” she finished but what she was really saying was that she still loved him. Turning around she started for the steps ”Spence.” he said stopping her. Turning around she looked at him ”Yes?” she asked feeling her heart thundering in her chest and making her a little light headed ”We’re leaving at three thirty because of all the traffic.” he told her after what seemed like an eternity of silence. She let out the breath that she hadn’t known she was holding and nodded her head ”Yeah, ok. See you then I guess.” she said before turning and bolting off the porch.

Instead of heading to her cabin she started for the woods, tears in her eyes. It was heartbreaking. Spencer had been so sure that he was the one. Her soul mate, but soul mates didn’t fool around with petit keyboardist while their other half was in Europe. She stopped at the large rocks; her lungs burning as she sobbed. Sitting down she hugged her knees to her chest resting her forehead to the tops of her knees. She cried until she had the hiccups and couldn’t cry anymore. Taking out her cigarette case from her back pocket and lit it to take her hiccups. As the tobacco calmed her nerves she realized she was going to have to stock up on papers and tobacco for this trip before leaving the city. At least on the quest Tasha wouldn’t be there to force her to stuff herself all the time. Feeling better she put the tobacco joint out and stood up to head for her own cabin. ”So how’d it go?” Tasha asked once she was back inside. Jake was gone and she and Clark had been looking at bridal magazines when she walked in. Spencer shrugged ”It was fine, but we at three thirty in the morning so I think I’m just going to go to bed. It’s been a long day.” she sighed. ”Oh, okay night Spencer.” Clark said ”That’s probably for the best.” Tasha added. ”Good night guys.” she said. Taking off her shoes she grabbed some pajamas and went to change. Once she was ready for bed Spencer slipped some head phones on and put on her Pandora One and a sleeping mask and settled down between the Egyptian cotton sheets for the night.

                                                                              tris - #599998

xxD.D.D.D.D.DIDN'T I MY DEAR?

Tristan gave his best friend a small goodbye before they parted ways. Heading back into his cabin, he pulled out his backpack that he would be taking on the quest and began to put things into it. He knew in general what he would want to take with him, after going on the quest with Remi. Throwing some clothes onto his bed, he began to roll them up and place them onto the bottom of his bag, hoping they wouldn’t take up too much room. When he finished with the two pairs of clothing that he would take with him, trying to find something that would work in the weather that was going on, he began to put other things in his backpack. Anything that he thought would be important on the quest went into the bag, all of the research that Colter had done was sitting right on top. He would have left it out to read later that day, but he knew that he would need some sleep during the night, before his quest began. He would have to stay on top of things while they were out in the world, he would need at least one good night of sleep, unless more visions decided to intrude on his dreams.

Tristan was so caught up in his thoughts that he hadn’t heard the front door of the cabin open. Glancing to his left, he saw Remi out of the corner of his eye and felt his body attempt to jump out of his skin. Recovering quickly, he took a deep breath, “Remi, Colter, sorry I didn’t realize you guys were in here.” He said as he registered the daughter of Hermes and son of Athena. Remi then began to question him about the quest. He wasn’t surprised, he was sure there were plenty of campers interested in hearing about the quest that he was about to be going on. She brought up that she figured Vega gave him a quest, clearly he was packing a bag for the quest. “It was kind of given to me without asking. I walked into the room, and was about to ask for it, when Vega gave the prophecy.” Tristan told the two. Colter brought up that he wasn’t surprised to hear this because of the connection between Vega and his father. Giving a slight nod, he knew hoped that this was a sign from his father. The next question shouldn’t have surprised him either, but he didn’t know how to answer. Even though he had talked with Colter about it before hand, he had to go against the son of Athena’s best judgment, something he tried to generally avoid doing. There was no way that he could change his mind now, but it wasn’t right to lie to Colter, someone who had helped him all throughout the day. “I know that we decided I would ask Hans and Johan, but the prophecy said that I needed two others that could use a bow and arrow, and they had to come from the Eros and Aphrodite cabin.” He hoped that they understood what he was trying to get across to them.

Remi stated one of the more obvious things from his explanation. He held his tongue from saying some sort of smart remark to her. It wouldn’t be right to say something rude to his friend; he was just not in the best of moods at the moment. Instead he just gave a wimpy, “Yeah, she is.” Colter was the next to speak up, asking if Tristan had already asked the daughter of Aphrodite on the quest. Nodding his head he explained, “I just got back from asking her and Hans to go on the quest with me.” He went quiet again, not knowing how to tell them that Spencer didn’t respond to him. Though, Remi clearly wanted to know what happened. He had never found her to be this nosy, maybe it was something that Colter was rubbing off onto her. “And then I got into a fight with Tasha and Spencer still has yet to respond to me.” He told them. Pushing, with more force than he meant to, his backpack away from him. He sat down on his bed and placed his head into his hands. Remi decided that she wanted to go speak with his ex-girlfriend. He thought about stopping her, but decided to allow her to leave his cabin.

When Remi left, Colter continued with the questioning. “Alone with bow, three must stand, to stop the foe, and disband, carved from rock, thou shall find, power in thy combined, A dove to release the Raven confined, child of love to mend the wound, If thy fail, Olympus shall be doomed.” Tristan had slight trouble remembering the entire prophecy, but he got it out and reminded himself to write it down when Colter left the cabin. The son of Athena asked for the research that he had done on the sun god. Tristan nodded and grabbed for his backpack. When he got it opened he passed it over to the dark haired male. His plan was to read the papers on the train the following day. Colter read part of the papers aloud, going on about Apollo’s bow, one of his greatest symbols and weapons. He then went on to say that it was at times kept in the basin of the Grand Canyon. Colter finished with telling Tristan that it would be a good location to start with. “Thanks, that’s great, Colt.” He tried to sound enthusiastic but his thought were growing more worrisome. He was wondering if things would actually go well with Spencer on the quest. Colter brought up that Tristan could send him an Iris message if he needed it during the quest. “I appreciate it Colt.” He said, trying to give the male an actual smile, but he could feel his face forcing it onto it.

Colter brought up that he would help more if he could, most likely meaning that he wished he could go on the quest to help Tristan. He was glad that Colter was there for him, but he knew that this quest was meant for him and he couldn’t just use Colter as a crutch all of the time. Besides, Colter was right, he would need to be there preparing for his baby that was on the way. “Don’t worry about it Colter, I completely understand. You should be with Remi during this time; she’s going to need you. I would never think about trying to separate you in, especially with the baby,” he said. When they finished speaking, Colter brought up that he should be heading out or Argus would be annoyed with Remi and him. “Sure, I’ll walk you out. I was about to step out for a cigarette,” he explained to the son of Athena. Standing, he double-checked to ensure that he had everything that he needed to take a smoke break. Following Colter out of the cabin, he was surprised to see the daughter of Aphrodite standing before him. He expected that she would tell him if she wanted to go on the quest or not soon enough, but he was actually shocked to see her coming by so quickly. “Spence?” He questioned her, when he got over the initial surprise. She responded with a rather jumpy response. Colter parted way with the two; Tristan almost wished that the male decided to stay longer. However, before he was able to do anything else, the son of Athena was walking away from them and heading towards the Hermes cabin.

When Colter parted ways, Spencer greeted him again. “You said that already,” he pointed out to the female. She then began on how Stella changed her phone number and she didn’t know about it until just recently, and that she fired the woman for it. She then brought up that the reason she didn’t call him over the last weekend was because of the way that Tristan was acting around the keyboard player in The Arrows. She continued on about how she was wrong to hit his best friend, but that he was cheating on her and it wasn’t right. Tristan stood there in shock. She truly thought that he was cheating on her with Gillian? That was less likely than her cheating on him with her fellow model, Rob. She brought up that their anniversary was coming up, and he knew that was true, they became a couple not long after the camp started the year before, but he couldn’t get past the fact that she thought he was cheating on her. He couldn’t think of what to tell his ex-girlfriend, but she brought up the fact that she would be going with him in the morning to save his father. That was what he wanted to hear from Spencer. When the information finally registered with him, she was walking away from him. “Spence,” he called out to her. She turned around to him, he considered bringing up something about what she had just ranted on about, but instead, he decided to not continue with that can of worms. It wouldn’t be good for the quest their relationship could wait. “We’re leaving at three thirty because of all the traffic.” She gave a typical response before heading away from him. Taking a deep breath, he pulled out the things he’d need to smoke and rolled a cigarette. Lightly it quickly, he lifted it to his mouth and sat down on his cabin’s porch.

Hearing the door open to the cabin, Althea came out of the cabin and took a seat next to Tristan. “Hey, how are things going?” his sister questioned. He hadn’t been keeping her up to date on all of the things going on in his life. Neither of them were able to talk too much, Tristan being busy with his band, and Althea preparing for the summer as the cabin leader and spending time with her boyfriend. “They’re going I guess, things are rather hectic with this quest and trying to figure out what’s going on with Spencer.” Althea lightly patted her hand against his back. Now that Rae Lynn was gone from their cabin, Althea was having a lot easier time dealing with all of the campers that still lived there. “Maybe this quest is the answer to everything?” she tried to sound hopeful for Tristan’s sake. Inhaling more smoke from the cigarette, Tristan shrugged his shoulders to his sister. “I guess we’ll just have to see what happens when we get there.” He said, telling her that they were planning on going to the Grand Canyon first. He was thankful that Colter was helping him think of the places that he should look for his father. The thought of his father being chained up concerned him greatly. Although, he trusted himself to help his father in anyway possible, at times he felt like there was too much going on in his head and Colter telling him to go somewhere helped his head decide what to do when. He reminded himself to make sure he had some drachmas in order to be able to send Colter an Iris message if needed. Finishing his cigarette, Tristan rose form his seat. “I’m going to go check on my bag, and make sure I have everything I need. Then I’m going to head to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow for the quest,” he explained before re-entering the cabin.

                                            LET’S GET STARTED

Tristan will you turn that damn alarm off?” sitting up in bed, Tristan followed the demand that his siblings gave him. At that point in the morning, his head was not working correctly and he would follow any order given to him. His body begged him to close his eyes once more and pretend as though he didn’t have anything important to do at that time. It took him a minute to force himself out of his bed and heading towards the bathroom. Turning on the shower water, he pulled off his clothes and got into the water. It dripped down his body in streams. He hoped that being in the water early in the morning would help him wake up, but he could feel his body still wishing him to go to sleep. He knew that he would have to be up to Half Blood Hill in a short amount of time, so he quickly washed himself and got out of the shower. Pulling on new clothing, he turned off the light and grabbed his backpack, creeping out of the cabin, in hopes of not waking up any of his siblings.

He wasn’t the first one to the hill, not surprising since it was still Artemis’ zone. Though, he knew that he wouldn’t be fully awake even when the sun was supposed to be out. Hans was sitting at the top of the hill waiting for him. “Took you long enough, I know that it’s not your time, but man you’re cutting it close. I wonder where Spencer is? She is coming, right?” Tristan hadn’t talked to his friend after he spoke with his ex-girlfriend the night before. Nodding his head he gave Hans an answer to his question. “I’m sure she’ll be here in a minute or so.” He glanced around and could see Argus approaching them. He hoped that Spencer would show up on time so that the guard of the camp didn’t give them a hard time about being on time. It was nice enough to know that the creature was willing to take them into the city. After all, he had to make the trip the night before to take Remi and Colter back to their apartment in the city. Tristan wouldn’t have wanted to make two trips in this kind of weather and with the traffic that it was causing. Thankfully he could see Spencer approaching them on the hill. When she joined them there weren’t any more words shared between the three demigods going on the quest. Instead, they followed Argus out to the white van that camp used for their strawberry ‘company’. Getting into the far back of the car, he closed his eyes the instant they began to move, telling Argus where they needed to go before he passed out.

                                            ARE WE THERE YET?

Feeling the car begin to slow down, Tristan opened his eyes to find that they were now in the city. Stretching his limbs, he did his best to wake up his body. When they pulled up in front of grand central station, he waited for Spencer and Hans to get out of the car first. “Thanks for the ride,” he said to the guard. Heading into the building, he was right about the time they needed to leave camp to be on time. They arrived thirty minutes before their train was expected to leave. Heading into the building found where he needed to go and found them standing on a small platform waiting for their train. “We’re going to head to the Grand Canyon first, I spoke with Colter last night and we agree with the lines of the prophecy that it would be the best place to start.” He told the other two people on the quest with him. He wanted to keep them filled in on what they were going to be doing and where they were going.

When the train arrived and they were allowed to board, Tristan passed their train tickets to the man allowing them on, when he finished with the tickets he allowed them to pick their place in the train. Making his way up to the top of the train, there were two seats against the back wall and one facing those two. “Perfect,” he said, taking a seat as Hans took the seat beside him. Looking up, Spencer’s seat was directly across from his. He was tempted to bring up the day before, but decided that it would not be smart to start something at the start of this quest. As the train began to move, Tristan glanced out the window of the train. He could see the public walking around, trying to get to their trains, but as they moved out of the train station, his vision went black, only able to see lights from the city. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and prayed that his father would be able hold out until they found him.

For all of the time that Remi and Spencer had been friends, she knew that she would never be close to the daughter of Aphrodite like her siblings were. However, she thought that they might be friends enough to be willing to open up to each other. Instead, Spencer tried to push aside what Remi was asking her about, telling the daughter of Hermes that it was nothing. Remi was no child of Apollo, but she could clearly see that Spencer was keeping something from her, avoiding talking about whatever it was that was on her mind. “Come on Spencer, it’s not nothing,” she tried to push the girls slightly, hoping that she would give in. Spencer then went on about how everyone was different. “Spencer, that’s not fair.” Remi was beginning to grow annoyed with the blonde, talking about how everything in her life was perfect and everyone loved her. She got enough of that from the other daughters of Aphrodite, she didn’t need to hear it from her friend too. Instead of letting her anger get ahold of her, she decided to let it be. “Okay Spence, but if you decide it isn’t perfect, I’ll be here.” She offered support to her friend, reminding her that she would be willing to help the daughter of Aphrodite out if needed. Spencer brought up that she would make it through the summer and go back to her life as it was, and Remi wondered if that was a good idea, seeing as the way her ‘normal’ life was going. Hearing her say that she needed to talk to pack and speak with Tristan, Remi nodded and stood from the porch. “Sure, stay safe,” she offered her friend. She turned to head back to her cabin before realizing that her boyfriend might come looking for her at the Aphrodite cabin. “Hey, if Colt comes looking for me let him know I went back to my cabin.” Spencer agreed to do so, so Remi hopped down from the porch and headed back to her cabin.

Reaching her own cabin, Sophia was sitting on her bed and looking at a magazine. “Hello there Sophia,” Remi said with a smile on her face. Her younger sister peeked up from the top of the magazine, “Hi Remi.” The older female picked up her small amount of belongings that she brought with her that morning. Glancing at the time she knew that Colter and she would have to leave back for the city shortly. “I’m going to head over to the Demeter cabin to speak with Nadine. I don’t think I’ll be back before we have to leave camp.” Giving her younger sister a small hug, she turned to leave the cabin. Most of her other siblings were out and about for the first day of camp, still greeting campers that were away during the school year. Leaving her cabin, she headed towards the Demeter cabin. She spent plenty of her time there, her best friend allowing Hermes to stay with her after the attack on the camp. Reaching the door, she knocked lightly and waited for someone to open up. Nadine was the first to answer the door. “Evening,” she offered, stepping out of her cabin. “Hey, Colter and I are going to have to head to the Big House and get heading home soon. I thought I’d stop by and say goodbye before we leave.” Remi explained to her friend, giving the smaller female a hug. “It was great to see you while you were here. I just wish that boyfriend of yours would allow you guys to stay. Yes, yes, I know that you have to make money to keep the apartment, but really? Missing camp?” Remi couldn’t say she didn’t feel the same way as her friend, but she knew what needed to happen to survive and prepare for the child on the way.

Hearing footsteps, she turned and expected to see her boyfriend telling her it was time to leave, but instead she watched the son of Notus walk up to the two girls. “Wyatt, hey, what’s up?” Nadine questioned, a clear blush appearing on her face. Remi couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the female. She never thought that Nadine was one to fall head over heels for someone. “Good evening, Nadine, Remi,” she couldn’t help but think that at the least he was a gentleman. “I was just wondering if you might be interested in taking an evening walk with me in the woods..” He questioned the daughter of Demeter. “You’re welcome to come along as well, Remi.” She could tell that he was only offering out of the goodness of his heart and would rather be alone with Nadine. “Thanks for the invitation, but I actually need to be heading out soon. Long day ahead tomorrow.” She said, declining his offer and pleasing him. The next set of footsteps did belong to her boyfriend. She felt bad for sending him on a wild goose chase. He softly kissed her cheek and she did the same to him. “Do we need to head to the Big House?” She questioned, already knowing the response. Sighing, she heard the answer she was expecting, but hoping not to hear. “You’re right.” Turning to Nadine, she could tell that Wyatt wanted to head into the woods for that evening walk. “I guess we’re going. I’ll text you when we get home.” She told her best friend, giving her a hug before moving on to say goodbye to Wyatt. “Sorry about the threat I gave you earlier. You seem like a good guy, but if you hurt Nadine, I won’t let you survive.” Remi joked, lightly patting the son of Notus on the back before leaving with Colter.

The camp’s ground’s man seemed bothered by their ‘late’ arrival that was still earlier than the planned meeting time. Getting into the van, Remi cuddled close to her boyfriend in order to make the vehicle slightly more comfortable. From the travel that Tasha and Spencer had done that day, she figured that their ride would be just about as long on the way back to the city, although the daughters of Aphrodite probably hit the afternoon rush of people trying to get home. When they were settled in and Argus was driving down the road, Colter began to question her about Spencer and the talk she had with her earlier. Remi couldn’t stop herself from sighing about the female. “She’s going but-” another sigh came from her mouth. “something is off with her, and she wouldn’t talk to me about it.” Remi knew that Spencer and she weren’t the closest friends, they had only grown closer and began to talk during her quest the summer before. After that they began to grow apart once more, seeing as they weren’t living in the same general area, and Spencer always seemed to be working in somewhere other than New York. However, she thought that they were close enough to talk about some of their problems, it wasn’t like she was going to run off and tell the entire camp, Her own cabin was more likely to do such a thing. Colter did his best to bring up that Spencer was strong, stronger than most Aphrodite daughters. Remi nodded her head in agreement, but couldn’t help but wonder what was going on in the blonde’s head at that moment. “I know, it’s just, I hope it’s enough.” He then brought up that the only thing they could do now was pray to the gods that they watch over their friends and help them on the quest as much as possible. Remi nodded her head, hoping that somehow Tristan’s father was still there for him, even if he had somewhat disappeared off the face of the planet and Olympus. “You’re right, Colt.” She whispered, yawning. Colter then changed the subject, talking about Nadine and Wyatt. Remi talked about how the new male seemed to catch Nadine’s eye and how she was positive that there would be a development in their relationship before they saw the two next. Eventually she could feel her eyes grow heavy with sleep, and moving closer to Colter, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Pulling the earbuds out Spencer slid the sleep mask off. Giving a yawn she looked at her phone to turn the alarm off; it was three in the morning. Getting out of bed the first thing Spencer needed was to take a shower to wake herself up. After she towel dried her hair Spencer braided it, and put her silver barrette into her white blonde locks. Deciding to dress casually she picked a white sundress, a pink jacket, and boat shoes she then picked out a white leather messenger bag she planned on using as her purse. Making sure she had everything in either her designer travel bag or her purse she sighed looking around the dimly lit Aphrodite cabin. After her silent goodbye she left with her purse strapped over her body and carrying her bag by the handle. Spencer left with ten minutes to spare but she wasn’t really worried about being late. While Argus would reprimand other campers for being late he had a blind spot for the ladies of Aphrodite. ”Good, you’re here. Let’s leave.” Argus said once she arrived leading them towards the van. Spencer climbed into the back seat alone with the bags on the seat on either side of her. Yawning she pulled her phone out and plugged her headphones into the jack and then started her Pandora through the earbuds. Between the smooth rhythmic ride and the serenade Spencer found herself drifting back into sleep.

                                                                              first planes, now trains

Spencer was wearing a white backless mermaid dress with a sunflower adorning her white blonde locks. She was breathless but she couldn’t tell if it was the kiss or how amazing Tristan looked in his tuxedo. Her father was cheering loudly while others applauded ”I’d like to present for the first time ever Mr. and Mrs. Tris—“ the rumbling of Spencer’s phone jolted her from her dream. It was an email from Mr. Fox, her father’s and Tristan’s agent, putting the phone down in her lap she pulled the earbuds from her ears and yawned ”Where are we going Argus?” she asked as New York loomed ahead of them. ”Grand Central, daughter of Aphrodite.” he replied glancing at her in the rearview mirror. Spencer nodded and sat back picking her phone back up deciding to read the email. ’to: sjgann@gmail.com from: j.fox@foxstein.com subject: Representation

Spencer it comes to my attention that you have terminated your relationship with Stella. While I might not be able to offer the fashion knowledge that Stella did I am still a very aggressive agent to have backing you. I can assure you that I can remain impartial as your agent and the agent of your father and Tristan. If you’re interested I would love to set something up with you to discuss things further.

                                                                                  James Fox

Hitting the reply button she opened up a new window and started to text her reply ”I’m sure you also heard that I wasn’t well if you heard that Stella and I are no longer working together. I’m not upset that you’re emailing me, I totally admire the tenacity of it, but I’ll have to take a rain check. I’m going off grid for some me time, but I’ll be there for Daddy’s first game so maybe we can talk then.’ she wrote before checking the box to add her signature and then sent the email from her smart phone. Soon enough James sent a reply saying that he couldn’t wait to see her and he appreciated the quickly reply. Tucking her phone away she noticed that the guys were still sleeping, their heads tucked against their chests. Tristan’s mess of curls looked perfect and sleep tussled, she wanted to run her fingers through them and kiss him awake. As he started to stir she sat back into her seat ignore the stretching and groaning happening in the front seat.

Once Argus parked Spencer was the first out of the van so that Tristan and Hans could get their bags easily. Once they were out of the van they headed inside to the ticket window to pick up their tickets as Tristan explained that he and Colter had decided that they would start in the Grand Canyon. Looking at her ticket she noticed that it was a two day train ride and they had a standard cabin and sleeper car instead of a deluxe sleeper suite. Keeping her head down she followed Tristan and Hans through the station. Even though it was still early she heard her name called out a few times and ignored it as they found their train and boarded.

Finding their designated car it was little more than bench seats that faced one another with overhead racks for their luggage. Standing on her tippy toes she felt her heels pop from the backs of her boat shoes as she pushed her bag to the storage above her head. ”Here, let me help you Spencer.” Hans said standing up to help her put her bag in the right side up. ”Thanks Hans.” she said before taking a seat on the bench across from Tristan and Hans. Once more Tristan wouldn’t look at her as he cast his gaze out the window as the train pulled away from the station and into the tunnel. Spencer could hear herself swallowing as they sliced through the darkness of the tunnel and then out through the other side into the dim, sunless day. Spencer shook her head feeling a little motion sickness ”I’m feeling a little dizzy I think I might check out the sleeper car.” she said standing and instantly grabbing the bar of the overhead luggage rack. ”Are you going to make it? Maybe you should help her Tristan.” the son of Eros suggested. Spencer shook her head and gave a little huff trying to relieve her dizziness ”Actually Hans, could you walk me?” she asked biting her lower lip. Hans nodded ”Sure Spencer.” he said standing up and offering her his arm. Heading to the sleeper car they found it to be a set of twin bunks on either side of a narrow aisle. ”Hans, I just wanted to apologize for smacking you the other night. I was drunk and completely out of line, and you didn’t deserve it.” she told him grabbing onto the side of bed to steady herself. ”Thank you for the apology Spence. I sort of figured you were drunk so I didn’t really know if you remembered even doing it. Just try to get some rest.” he told her before leaving the sleeper car to join Tristan.

                                                                              commotion locomotion

Spencer was able to relax with her eyes closed and music playing but she wasn’t sleeping. Finally she didn’t feel so nauseous and she felt as if she had adjusted to the rhythm of the train. Pulling the burgundy privacy curtain back she vacated the bunk and grabbed her purse. When she slid the door open she found the other part of the car empty of her companions ”Great.” she sighed. Moving to the door she slid it open and looked down the corridor looking for the restroom. Double checking their cabin number she found the toilet and was thankful she had mastered the ability to use the facilities without having to touch anything except the handle which she took care of with her foot. After cleaning her hands she left and went in search of a bottle of water. ”It’s really you, when I saw your name on the passenger list I didn’t think it was you. Will you sign my issue of Vogue? Kelly, I’m Kelly. You’re really pretty in person, like really pretty, I thought it was airbrushing but you’re wow-“ ”Kelly, I just want a bottle of water and directions to the smoking car.” she said cutting the gushing attendant off at the snack bar cart she had found. ”Oh right, you’re a passenger duh Kelly. The smoking cart is three cars ahead, right after the dining car.” she said blushing furiously as she handed Spencer a water bottle. ”How much?” she asked ”No charge for you.” she said shaking her head. Spencer wasn’t surprised, she often didn’t pay for things, but she still felt bad for being rude to the girl ”Thanks, tell you what, come by my cabin later and I’ll sign your Vogue. Unless you like have it now.” she offered in return. The girl’s face lit up ”Wow thank you so much. I’ll come by around seven.” she confirmed with Spencer. Leaving the mousy fan behind she headed up the car in search of the smoking section.

Having one of her hand rolled cigarettes she sipped her water and surfed around the internet. Once she was finished she decided to head back to the cabin to find Tristan and Hans back. ”I went for a drink and a cig.” she explained moving to sit down. ”We had some breakfast, I grabbed you an everything bagel to help settle your stomach.” Tristan said handing her a parchment wrapped bagel. ”Thanks, I’ll eat it later.” she said taking it and nodding her head ”You’ll eat it now Spence.” he told her with a sigh. Spencer rolled her eyes wondering what Tasha had told him. Deciding not to push the issue she opened the parchment and tore a chuck off and popped it into her mouth. ”Feeling any better?” Hans asked after a few bites. Nodding her head Spencer jumped at the chance to stop carb loading ”Yeah, I think I just had to get my sea legs or like whatever.” she told him. ”That’s great Spencer.” he said with a nod. ”You should finish your breakfast.” Tristan said after a beat forcing Spencer to pick the food up. Sighing she tore a new piece off to eat. ”Well this isn’t awkward at all, but I’m going to stretch my legs.” Hans said after several minutes of silence.

Finishing the bagel Spencer threw the parchment away. Sitting down she pulled her phone out just to have something in her hands. ”Spence, I just wanted to say thank you for coming. It’s means a lot to me.” Tristan said finally. Spencer bit her lip and raised her brow waiting for the rest. That couldn’t be it, she didn’t accept that ”That’s it? That is all you have to say to me?” she asked putting her phone down and shaking her head. Tristan shrugged ”I don’t know what else to say to you Spencer.” he said looking at her his voice flat. ”How is that even possible?” she asked angrily. ”What do you want me to say Spencer?” he asked looking at her. ”How about some sort of explanation? I mean you owe me that.” she said as if it was so obvious she shouldn’t have to say it. "Look, Spencer, I just don't want to talk about this right now. We're on a quest, and I'd like to focus on that until we're done. My father is in danger, and this isn't the time for me to get caught up with our personal problems. So, if we could focus for now, we can talk about us after this quest. Besides, I wasn't the one who broke up with the other and walked out without a word. I don't think I owe you an explanation at the moment." he told her. Spencer licked her lips and shook her head ”Of course because why would what I want or need be important? You know you’re important to me; you need me here so that’s why I’m here Tris. Did you ever think maybe you would try, just try to being there for me instead of everyone else?” she asked standing up ”Thanks for the bagel.” she snorted and headed for the door and paused after sliding it open ”You know I hope any of these other people you put before me love you as much as I do. Or else like what’s the point of pushing me away Tris?” she asked before slipping into the hallway to go find the dining car to see if the bar was open yet.

                                                                              tris - #599998

It didn’t take long for Spencer to start up talking. She brought up that she wasn’t feeling great and was going to head over to the sleeper car. Tristan watched her stand up and grab for the luggage rack in order to keep herself balanced. He moved forward in his seat about to ensure that she was going to be all right, but Hans moved fast than him. Usually, he would be annoyed that someone was stepping in where he always tended to show off, but since it was Spencer who Hans was helping, he figured that it was for the better. However, when his best friend brought up that he should help Spencer to the sleeper car, he rose from his seat about to help. He was surprised to hear his ex-girlfriend bring up that she actually wanted the son of Eros to help her to the cabin. Even though it wasn’t well known for the Eros and Aphrodite cabin to get along too well, Tristan was slightly happy to see them getting along fine. Although he wondered if it was that they were actually getting along or just that she wanted to avoid Tristan. They hadn’t been having the best conversations lately. When Hans agreed to help her to the other car, Tristan took his seat once more and opened his backpack. Pulling out the papers that Colter gave him before the quest, he began to look over them.

Hearing someone approach him, he peered up from the information on his father that he was reading. Hans reappeared from the sleeper car and sat down where Spencer had found her seat at the start of the trip. “I’m not so sure about her. I mean, I know that’s she’s a fighter, but do you think she’ll be able to handle this?” Tristan didn’t know what his best friend thought about him inviting his ex-girlfriend on the quest. After all, Tasha had brought up that she was just released from the hospital and everyone around the camp knew that much. There were plenty of people that probably thought he was ridiculous for asking a girl that was recently in the hospital to get up, travel hundreds of miles, and fight any monsters that might attempt to stop them. “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. There is no going back now.” Hans didn’t seem comforted by Tristan’s statement, but he also didn’t attempt to continue with that part of the conversation. Instead, he shifted it onto what was in Tristan’s hands. “What are you looking at?” The son of Apollo glanced down to the papers that he grabbed before Hans rejoined him. “These? They are papers that Colter gave me before we left for the quest. It’s some research that he did on my father.” Tristan was grateful that the son of Athena was willing to help him out, although, he would have felt more comfortable if Colter had joined them on the quest. A silence swept over the two, as they continued to do their own thing, and watch from the windows of the train.

Eventually the two decided to leave their cabin behind in order to find some food in the dining car. Tristan placed his papers down in his backpack and joined his best friend headed towards the smell of food. Taking a seat at a table in the dining car, a woman approached them and questioned them on what they wished to eat. Hans ordered an entire meal, filled with eggs and sausage. However, Tristan wasn’t feeling up for a huge meal and decided on an asiago bagel with cream cheese. The food was brought to them and they ate with little talk. Tristan had too much on his mind, and Hans didn’t seem to know what to talk about with his friend. They weren’t known around the camp as the most talkative demigods around, and that was generally how their friendship worked out. When they finished eating, Tristan ordered an everything bagel for Spencer, figuring that she would be hungry shortly. At least, he knew he should force her to eat soon. He would rather avoid Tasha being on his case after the quest ended. Walking back, he found that Spencer was still not in the cabin, and he wondered if she was in the sleeper car. He considered venturing to find her, but figured that she would make her way back when she wanted to be in their company.

Not long after they arrived back, Spencer did just as he expected she would, and reappeared in the cabin. She explained that she went for a drink and a smoke before coming back. “We had some breakfast, I grabbed you an everything bagel to help settle your stomach.” He explained as he handed her the parchment wrapped bagel. She took it from him and brought up that she’d eat it later, but he shook his head. “You’ll eat it now Spence,” he let out with a sigh. He knew that he was responsible for her eating while they were on the quest, but he grew increasingly frustrated when she worked so hard to go against what he, her siblings, and doctors all wanted her to do. Hans went on to talk to her, as Tristan peeked out the window to look at the city they were passing through. There were streetlights on for people to navigate their way through the city to their jobs that morning. It was beginning to lightly drizzle outside of the train. Glancing back to the two in the cabin with him, he noticed that Spencer stopped eating her bagel in order to chat with the son of Eros. “You should finish your breakfast.” A silence was brought between the group, Tristan wasn’t too surprised at this, but he felt bad for his best friend. He wanted to speak with all of them about his plan when they got there, but Hans rose from his seat and exited before he was able to speak with them all. He couldn’t blame his friend too much; there was a tension in the air.

Another silence swept over the cabin, and Tristan tried to avoid looking at his ex-girlfriend as she continued to eat her meal. She finished not long after Hans left, and sat back down after throwing away the wrapping. Feeling the tension grow between the two, Tristan decided on starting a conversation. Only, he didn’t know how to begin it. He wanted to avoid the topic of their relationship, but that was the one thing that came to mind when thinking about Spencer. Finally, he decided on a topic to break the silence between them. “Spence, I just wanted to say thank you for coming. It means a lot to me.” She didn’t take long to question if that’s all he had to say to her. Of course she wouldn’t be able to let it end at that. He just wanted to stop the silence, but she wanted to have a nice long conversation about them, didn’t she? Shrugging, he tried to play off confused, “I don’t know what else to say to you Spencer.” There was truth in the statement, but he figured that she didn’t want to hear that sort of thing. “What do you want me to say Spencer?” he questioned when she seemed frustrated with him. He hoped that she would drop it, but it was Spencer Gann, she wouldn’t let things go that easy. She then stated that she deserved an explanation, and that he owed her one. “Look, Spencer, I just don’t want to talk about this right now. We’re on a quest, and I’d like to focus on that until we’re done. My father is in danger, and this isn’t the time for me to get caught up with our personal problems. So, if we could focus for now, we can talk about us after this quest. Besides, I wasn’t the one who broke up with the other and walked out without a word. I don’t think I owe you an explanation at the moment.” Again, he hoped that she would let it go, and they could leave it be and talk about the quest, but instead she went on a extended rant about how important he was to her, and how he wasn’t there for her.

When she left the cabin, he leaned against the back of his seat and closed his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he thought about letting her go sulk in her own sadness, but there was something in her angry tirade that bothered him. Standing, he left the cabin and followed where she had began to walk towards. It didn’t take long to find her, since he had to walk through each cabin in order get to the next. He spotted her in the dining car, chatting up the man behind the bar. The bartender passed a drink over to her on top of the bar, and smiled a flirting smile to her. She lifted the glass to her mouth, but Tristan approached her and pulled it down before she could take a drink. “Aren’t you supposed to i.d. before you pour?” he questioned the male, tossing it back at the worker. Grabbing Spencer’s wrist slightly harder than he planned on, he pulled her back towards the cabin with him. She struggled against him, “Tristan, what are you doing? Let me go.” He continued to pull her until they reached their cabin. Closing the door behind him, he left go of her wrist. “So much for caring about me, huh? I guess I’m just so important to you, right? You walk away and go flirting on with someone else to get whatever you want.” He couldn’t help but let out an exasperated chuckle. “You know, by now I should be used to this, should I? I thought you were different than your siblings, but you’re all the same. You know, you’re worst than the Eros cabin; at least they have some consideration for those around them. You, you Aphrodite children just think about yourselves and how best to torture those around you, don’t you?

You say that I’m not there for you? You’re kidding me right? Do you know how much I’ve ‘been there’ for you since last summer? I almost drowned for you. I saved your life. How many guys would sit around waiting for you to go off to Europe with some male model? How many would stay faithful to you? That bartender? Would he sit around waiting for you? I went to jail for you. So don’t pull that bullshit that I’m not ‘there’ for you. When have you ever been there for me? You think you’re all high and mighty. You didn’t even think to stop working with Rob until I spelled it out for you. And you know, the one time that I try to do something for myself, you walk out and claim that it’s my fault? Yes, I love music, but it has always gone on a back burner for you. You come home from Europe and act all arrogant and foolish. You never take a minute to think, you just do whatever the hell you want without thinking about consequences. You just figure that all your riches and looks will get you out of whatever you get yourself into. You killed a man, Spencer, and did you even for a second think that maybe you could have stopped that from happening? It has to be all about you, doesn’t it? I should have seen it sooner. I can’t talk friendly to one girl without me being an unfaithful boyfriend, but you can stand around practically naked with another male and it’s just ‘work’. You dance while drunk with some actor, and it’s normal, isn’t it? I’m sick of your s**t, and I’m done. If that’s how you’re going to treat me, maybe you should have just stayed at the camp.” Tristan concluded, but added, “and how dare you suggest that my father doesn’t love me. What have you done for your mother? What has she done for you? Because, I’ll remind you that without my father, you wouldn’t be alive right now.” Tristan found himself screaming by the end of his own tirade.

Hearing a knock on the cabin door, he swung the door open to find a security guard standing before him. “Good morning, we have been getting some noise complaints, and I wanted to ensure that everything was alright.” The guard questioned, taking a peek over Tristan’s shoulder to Spencer. Tristan huffed, “Peachy.” He stepped out past the guard and headed towards the sleeper car. The guard didn’t try to stop him, but he figured that the man would just ask Spencer how things were going, and then ask for her autograph. Making his way to the sleeper car, he slipped off his shoes and crawled into one of the beds that wasn’t being occupied. Shutting the curtain in front of him, he wanted some peace. He couldn’t believe that they were already starting out on the wrong foot for this quest. If this was Spencer’s quest she would be more willing to put their problems beside and focus on the task at hand, but she clearly didn’t care enough about his father or the world, as they knew it. Closing his eye, he tried to forget about the conversation he had with Spencer. As though if he could pretend that it didn’t happen, he could actually go back in time and stop it from happening. With his father not being able to be up in the sky and driving the sun through the sky, he could feel himself slipping from reality.

                                            WELCOME TO DREAM LAND

Tristan’s eyes opened to find his father tied up in the dungeon like area. “Father-” he started, but was caught off by one of the demititans. “Just put it in with the god. It’s not like they’ll be able to get their way out of there. Pathetic little demigod, stupid little thing.” A male’s voice came from the back of the door, Tristan tried to turn and see who they had with them, but the scene shifted. He now found himself in some sort of jail building he didn’t recognize it. “Do you think that they’ll actually fall for the bait?” A dark skinned female questioned a male standing beside her. “Of course they will, they are demigods and are foolish. Besides, from what we can tell, that son of Athena isn’t with them this time.” The male responded, a smile curving onto his face. “Stupid little things,” he grumbled, and turned away from the female.

                                            GET ME BACK TO REALITY

Feeling someone shaking his shoulders, Tristan opened his eyes. “Took you long enough. I’ve been trying to wake you up for ten minutes now. It’s lunch time.” Hans stated. Tristan wondered what Spencer had said to the son of Eros, if anything. Pulling himself out of bed, he slipped his shoes back on and instantly felt exhausted once more. He hadn’t days like this, when he could never feel completely awake and back to normal. “I told Spencer to head over to the dining car and wait for us.” Following his friend, he made his way back to the dining car, where Spencer was sitting waiting for them. Tristan hoped that this wouldn’t be a meal that ended with the two of them screaming at each other. He guessed that she hadn’t told the guard too much about them, after all, he wasn’t being arrested. Taking a seat, he focused on his menu, deciding what to eat instead of thinking of how to converse with the other demigods.

Looking up from the glass he was polishing he sat it down ”Absolutely, what’re having Beautiful?” he asked. ”Cosmo and I’m Spencer.” she told him so he could start fixing the drink. Once it was done he smiled as he passed it to her but before she could take the drink Tristan was there shoving it back at the guy insinuating that Spencer was underage. His hand was like a vice grip on her wrist jerking her away from the bar ”Tristan, what are you doing? Let me go.” she hotly as he pulled her towards their cabin. Once inside Tristan let go of her hard, stumbling from the motion of the train and the suddenness of it. He wasn’t being very fair. She hadn’t flirted with anyone, she had been flirted with; there was totally a difference. Spencer couldn’t control how other people acted towards her, it just like happened. Opening her mouth to say something she was cut off as the son of Apollo continued to yell at her. She knew that he had saved her life last summer but she also saved him from Medusa’s gaze. Then again she didn’t think that helping the other one stayed alive had anything to do with their relationship or was a tit for tat sort arrangement. It wounded her that he felt that way, almost like he regretted saving her life and their lives since then. Spencer felt as if her heart was racing as Tristan yelled at her. Grabbing the pole for steadiness she felt like his words were slaps as he went. She didn’t know what to say or where to even begin, she just wanted to curl up and cry. Of course she knew that she had killed a man, she spent the better part of being awake trying to get drunk enough to forget that fact. She hadn’t meant to say that his father didn’t love him but she thought that he could leave his cabin behind to try and live a normal life with her. ”Tris-“ she started unsure of what to say and was cut off with a loud knocking on the door. A security official from the train was standing there informing them that some of the neighbors had complained about Tristan’s berating of her. He smarted off before moving into the sleeper compartment and sliding it closed hard. ”Miss?” he said moving into the compartment to touch her shoulder ”Is everything alright with you two?” he asked. Spencer knew that she could probably get Tristan thrown off the train if she wanted to or a separate cabin from the guys but she was tired of it. Tired of fighting with him; it was exhausting batting Tristan. ”Sorry, we’re fine. I guess we’re just used to a larger space. It won’t happen again, promise.” she told him. Looking at her once more she nodded and then he nodded in return ”Ok, well if you need anything just speak to an attendant.” he said before leaving.

Standing up Spencer pulled her bag down from the luggage rack after a struggle. Opening it up she touched her quiver, a gift from Tris and decided that she should be wearing it now that they weren’t in the safety of the camp. Pulling her jacket off she pulled the quiver on and then put her jacket back in place. It felt sort of strange wearing it again but she would just need to get used to it again. Touching the sketch pad and pencil box, also gifts from Tristan, she picked them up and sat down to with a blank page. Plugging her headphones in she gazed out the window trying to find some inspiration, just one beautiful thing to take her away. Finding nothing Spencer closed her eyes and tried to focus but all she could see was that guy’s blood splattering as the car hit him. Shaking it away she tried to think of something else and saw Tristan instead trying to find some way out of Della’s fountain. Opening her eyes she found Hans looking at her wearing a strange look on his face ”Is everything alright, you looked really upset.” Hans said as she plucked a bud from her ears. Spencer nodded and licked her lips ”I’ll be ok, Tristan and I sort of got into it after you left and it just, you know what? It’s fine.” she said with a sigh shaking her head. Looking down she realized that her page wasn’t blank anymore, a floating body that looked like the accident victim filled the paper. ”What’s that?” Hans asked looking where her gaze was directed ”It’s nothing.” she said closing the sketch pad and tossing it back into her bag before zipping it up ”Will you put that back up Hans?” she asked. After a few beats of silence he nodded his head and moved to put her bag back in the luggage rack. ”Thank you Hans.” she said as he sat down across from her. ”No problem, I just want to make sure that you’re feeling up to the quest.” he state more than questioned. Spencer sighed and nodded her head ”Look, I know I don’t look very strong but I am. Plus I mean you like know Tris, if he didn’t think I couldn’t handle it he wouldn’t have asked me. Right?” she asked. Hans sighed as if that didn’t quite satisfy her curiosity ”Alright, well why don’t we get some lunch. Go ahead and head down there and I’ll get Tristan.” he told her. Spencer nodded ”Sure, I’ll get us a table.” she said standing.

Taking her purse with her Spencer went to the dining cart and asked for a table for three, two young men. After a second she was shown to a table where three menus were laid out. Figuring that neither Hans nor Tristan would want to sit next to her she took the single and settle down in the chair. Picking up the menu she tried looking it over for something that wouldn’t be too terrible if Tristan demanded she get something. After a few minutes she took out her phone to see what time it was; it seemed like they were taking forever. Checking the fashion news she was unsurprised that she was the top story in the fashion world. She had spent the past month doing all sorts of fashion spreads all while reviving her party girl persona then after a collapse at Donna Karen she had fired her agent and then disappeared from public eye. There where all sorts of speculations as to where she was: rehab, a family compound oversea, barricaded in her penthouse. No one thought to look for her on a train to the desert. Finally she backed out of the story as the guys arrived and where directed to her. Seeing the rest of her party had arrived the waiter arrived asking for drinks ”Ice tea with lemon.” she order wanting the caffeine from the tea. Both Hans and Tristan were focused on their menus, he was still furious at her. Looking back at the menu she noticed that there wasn’t that much on the menu that looked appealing beside the salad section. Spencer didn’t really feel like eating, but she also didn’t want to fight with Tristan anymore. When the waiter returned with their drinks Spencer squeezed her lemon in ”I’ll take the Asian chicken salad, with grilled chicken and dressing on the side.” she ordered when he looked to her first. After he left with their orders she sipped her tea and decided to play around on a doodle app. The last doodle was where she had been practicing her signature as Spencer Pascal. Now she wondered if they would ever get back together, it was like their love life was a Maroon 5 song. Clearing the app she picked a thin gray line and started to sketch a female form to start a rough idea of a sketch. When her salad arrived she put her phone away and thanked the waiter and picked up her fork. Carefully selecting a bite she dipped it lightly into the dressing then wiped it along the rim before putting it into her mouth.

Spencer ate half of her salad, which to be fair was huge, before paying for the tab. ”I’m stuffed; I think I’m going to go have a smoke.” she said standing up. She paused looking at Tristan chewing on her lower lip. Just leave it alone, she told herself before moving away from the table and heading for the smoking car. Taking a seat she pulled out her silver case and removed a hand rolled cigarette that she had left to dry then lit it. She just needed to leave Tristan alone. Spencer loved him but he needed space, and if he loved her he would come back. She had to believe that he would come back. Hugging her knees to her chest she closed her eyes and sent a prayer to her mother that they would find each other again. Opening her eyes she ashed her cigarette and continued to smoke. Once she was finished she decided to head back towards their cabin. Tristan and Hans weren’t in the dining cart anymore and she figured that they were back in their car as well. As she approached she noticed a surely looking woman about to knock on their door. She definitely made spencer’s skin crawl ”Can I help you?” she asked. The woman’s head snapped towards her ”Yess we reccived a complaint about the noisse.” she said. Spencer couldn’t help but notice her complexion was terrible ”No, we already cleared that up.” she said trying to get the woman. Sprouting fangs she shook her head lunging at Spencer. Jumping back she grabbed her bow and transformed it. Unable to get arrows because of her jacket she swung it hard connecting with the monster ”TRISTAN! HANS!” she called out as the snake woman staggered back on balance and came at her once more. Swinging her bow again it hit the creature again causing Spencer to grin in satisfaction. Seconds later she was sent sprawling from behind as another snake woman crashed into her. Kicking up hard she felt herself connect but it didn’t stop the woman from clamping her jaws down into Spencer causing her to cry out. Spencer could hear screams filling the cabin, other passengers, as she reached up trying desperately to unclamp the jaws of the monster from her shoulder. Scrambling desperately she was unable to break the bite but she did find the fletch to an arrow tangled in her hair. The pain of losing a few blonde strands was nothing as she freed the arrow then started to stab backwards until she felt dust pouring over her. Strangling to stand she touched the wound and found it bloody and oozing green ”Tristan-“ she started the word slurring in her mouth as black dots danced across her vision. Tristan was grabbing her hand ”We have to jump!” he told her pulling her towards the rush of air from the back of the cart. She could see more snakes slithering towards them, and another passenger slumped and broken.

Turning to look at him she could see Hans waiting for them as she stumbled alongside Tristan. The world seemed to be fading in and out. One second she was moving towards the exit, the next she was there. Then she was flying through the air before hitting the ground hard and rolling hard; the quiver digging into her back, Tristan’s body hitting hers hard and fast. Finally she found herself on her side unable to support herself on her wounded left side. The sounds of braying hell hounds filled the air but she couldn’t tell how close they were. Pushing herself up on her good side she started to look for where Tristan or Hans were around her. Blacking out she woke up in the dirt she heard the howls, closer this time, but she found herself unable to move at all. Trying to open her mouth she tried to scream but found it impossible. The smell of sulfur was strong now and she could hear arrows whizzing through the air and the growls of the hounds. ”SPENCER!” she heard Tristan calling but she was unable to answer and she could feel her consciousness slipping away.

                                                                              like where am i

Spencer groaned, her body was sore as if it had been healed from a serious wound recently. Tristan, her mind tried to pull together what she could last remember. They were attacked on the train and she was poisoned from a venom bite before they had to jump for it. That didn’t make sense; while she was lying in a cave, she could totally tell by the smell and bad light; it was a well-furnished cave. Where was she? How had she gotten there? Where were Tristan and Hans? Were they ok? Pushing herself up she realized that it wasn’t Tristan that had healed her. Tristan was an excellent healer, whoever had done her; not so much. Looking at her throbbing shoulder she realized it was stitched, as in leaving a scar, and probably infected the way it was red and angry. Whoever had done this was a butcher, a complete mad man. Spencer’s mouth felt dry, a lump forming as she frantically started to look around for her jacket to cover the mark. She heard a voice behind her clear his throat and she stopped to find a teenage boy with thick bark brows and sandy hair that was flirting with shagginess ”You know even with that you are still the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” he said moving into the main area, her jacket draped over his arm. ”I’d like my jacket back.” she said holding out her hand. The boy shook his head ”No, I don’t think so. Sit back down, I’m not sure how well I drew the venom out, the more rushing around you do the faster it races through your system.” he told her. Spencer shook her head ”That has nothing to do with my jac-“”I SAID SIT!” he yelled rushing towards her. If Spencer was a normal model she would have cowered but she was a demigod. Striking out with her good arm she connected with his nose. When his nose didn’t break she realized maybe he was normal either and it was confirmed as he grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm around her back and forcing her to her knees. With his other hand he pressed down into her shoulder wound ”I did this to you.” he whispered in her ear before slowly licking a bead of sweat rolling down her face. ”Does it make you furious to know I deformed you?” he asked pressing again until Spencer cried out ”Furious enough to kill? This thing I’ve done to you…” he said leaning close to press his lips against her ear ”the things I’m going to do to you.” she finished. The boy’s hand left her wound and started to travel down her back and under the hem of her dress.

Spencer refused. She was a champion of Aphrodite and no one would use sex as a weapon against her. Slamming her head back into his hard hammering at his nose she heard it break and felt his weight off of her. Jumping to her feet she pulled the barrette that had returned to her hair into her bow. She could tell her quiver wasn’t on it but that didn’t mean she couldn’t use it as a club. She swung it again as the male struggled to his feet hitting him in the rubs forcing a grunt from him. Hammering him again and again until she knocked him to the ground; moving to stand over him Spencer used one end of the bow to smash into his bloodied and broken nose. As he went limp she slung her bow on her good shoulder and turned and ran. She made it about a hundred yards before she ran into a ground of guards smiling at her ”Where you going Princess?” one of them asked shaking his head. ”Elysian Field if I have to.” she said pulling her bow off her shoulder holding it like a sword. ”Cute.” he replied before lunging at her. Spencer got a few hard knocks in but there were four of them and one of her. Soon enough she was pinned and disarmed and being dragged right back to where she had just fled from. The boy was standing, his nose popped into place and still bleeding as he smiled at her ”Lucky for you I like it rough.” he told her moving to take her bow ”What’s your name Beautiful?” he asked her. Spencer struggled against the guards holding her. She wanted to order them to let her go but she wasn’t sure she could escape and then they would know about her ability. ”No? Please? I’m just dying to know. I’m Jack, now it’s your turn.” he said moving in to stroke her face. Spencer struggled harder trying to get in a good head butt but Jack pulled back. ”Have it you way then Beautiful.” he said moving back and picking up her bow before swinging it hard into Spencer’s nose breaking it, the pain causing her body to go limp in unconsciousness.
                                                                              tris - #599998

It didn’t take long for a waiter to approach their table and ask them what they wanted to drink. “May I just have a water?” he asked, as he wrote down what the three wanted to start off with. When he left their table to get their drinks, Tristan’s eyes went directly back down to his menu. Knowing that if he put it down Hans or Spencer would probably want to start a conversation. It didn’t take long for the man to come back with three glasses in his hand. As he sat each one down in front of the correct owner, he questioned what they would be eating for dinner. Spencer ordered first, a salad. Though Tristan didn’t think she’d get enough substance from it. For most people it would be fine to have a lighter meal, but when it came to the daughter of Aphrodite, she should slowly be eating bigger meals in order to get back the weight she had been losing as of lately, but he decided not to fight with her on it. There had been enough fighting between the two of them so far that day. Besides, he didn’t want to get kicked off at the next stop for causing problems on the train; it was his quest after all. “May I have the grilled chicken?” he ordered from the male. Hans was the last to order, getting some sort of burger that the train had to offer. The man left shortly after taking Hans order, and the table went silent once more. Leaning his head back, Tristan closed his eyes and relaxed. He didn’t bring anything with him to the dining car, so he had nothing to waste his time looking at during the in between time.

Luckily it didn’t take long for the waiter to bring their food to them. Tristan opened his eyes and began to focus on eating his meal. Their silence continued into the meal, though Hans did attempt to start a little conversation, but no one clearly wanted to keep that going. When he finished his meal, he thought about going to the smoking car, but Spencer brought it up before he could. When she announced that she would be heading over there, he decided to go back to their car. Staring down at his food, he could feel her eyes on her. He didn’t look back up until Hans began to talk, “Please tell me that’s not how this entire quest is going to be?” Tristan glanced to his friend. He knew exactly what Hans was talking about, but didn’t care to talk to him about it at the moment. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m going to head back to our car, you coming?” Hans frowned at the son of Apollo, but didn’t say anything against what he was doing and avoiding. The two got up from their seats and headed back to their car.

When they reached the car, Tristan sat down, taking out more of the papers that Colter had left him to read. He was just about to get into what was written, when he heard some people talking outside his car. Placing them back into his bag, he glanced to the son of Eros. “Do you hear that?” he asked his friend. Whoever it was outside was bringing up the noise complaint that happened earlier. He tried to push what the woman was saying aside, but then Spencer’s voice shouted at them from the hall. Grabbing for his pocket watch, Tristan transformed it into his bow and arrows. Opening the door to their private area, he could see snake women standing around attacking Spencer and now lunging for him. Shutting the door, he had to think quickly, Spencer was still out their in the hall. Regardless of how much they had been fighting lately, the last thing he wanted to see now was her dying. “Hurry, get your things we’re not going to be able to stay on this train.” He didn’t trust that these monsters were the only ones on the train, and they would be questioned at the next stop if they didn’t get off now. Besides, they would be stopping most likely and that would cause them to have to wait around when they should be searching for his father. He grabbed his own bag and placed it on his back, “I’m going out there, try to get Spencer’s things if you can.” He said, pulling out an arrow, and opening the door. Since he didn’t carry a sword with him, and using his bow close range wasn’t the smartest, he stabbed the arrow into the monster’s chest.

He felt somewhat bad for leaving Spencer out there, but he had to think about what they were going to be doing. If he had just ran out into the fight, they would have had to get out of the train without any of their belongings, at least most likely. When he finished killing the first monster, another jumped at him, and he was able to stab it as well. However, with the amount of them there, another jumped at him from the other side. He was grateful for his best friend being behind him. An arrow pierced the monster just as it was about to get its hands on Tristan. “Thanks!” he called back quickly, moving to where a monster was on top of Spencer. He pulled out his bow to attack, but just before he was about to fire, it erupted into golden dust. Spencer pulled herself up, though she didn’t look so great. “We have to jump!” He said, when he made his way to her side, and took her hand. He could see Hans at the other side of the train, and walked with Spencer towards him. It took a little bit of effort, but Hans made sure that nothing stopped them from the front side. He kept peering backwards in case a monster attempted to sneak up on them. When they made it to where Hans was, they made their way to the outside of the train. Tristan turned his bow and arrow back into the pocket watch that he kept in his pocket, wanting to avoid breaking them.

Spencer, you should go first, I can come with you at the same time if you want.” He wanted her to go first because of the state she was in. He figured that one of the monsters had poisoned her. “Spencer, can you jump by yourself?” she didn’t say anything just jumped from the train and began to roll. Counting to two, Tristan jumped off after her, and began to roll. Apparently two seconds hadn’t been long enough his body slammed against Spencer’s not long after he hit the ground and began to roll in the opposite direction of the train. When he slowed down enough to get up without hurting himself, he did so. He could instantly hear the hellhounds coming at them. Hans was out now too, calling to him about where the monsters were coming from. He was trying to find where Spencer was, and when his eyes found her, he began to run towards her. The hellhounds were now approaching them at a rapid pace. Thinking back to the vision he had with Spencer and hellhounds, he tried to get to her before anything could stop him. He was almost there, shortening the distance between the two, fifteen yards, ten yards, five yards, and then he felt hands grab his arms, someone pulling him back. From what he knew, the only other person there was Hans, and there was no reason for the son of Eros to stop him. Glancing over his shoulder, he realized that there was a girl pulling him away. Hans hesitated, he was aiming at the monsters headed for Spencer, but glanced at the person pulling down Tristan. “HELP HER!” he screamed at his friend, who let his arrow fly towards the monsters standing over Spencer. Tristan shoved the girl off the best that he could.

Turning around to find Spencer, another person was now dragging her away from the group. She was clearly too out of it to fight back, “SPENCER!” He screamed, running forward once more, but this time he was stopped by the hellhounds that were charging towards him. His focus remained on Spencer. He hadn't noticed the hellhound that sneaked up behind him, until he felt the dust expand over his back. Turning around he could see that Hans had just let an arrow shoot from his bow. Tristan wanted to go after whoever it was that took Spencer, but the look in his best friend's eye stopped him. "You know, if you go after her, you're just going to tire yourself out, and you're not going to be able to catch up to them." What his friend was saying was completely logical, and yet he didn’t want to listen. “We should rest for the night and decide where to go in the morning.” Hans tried to reason. Although, it sounded more like he was trying to wimp out of finding their third quest member. “We should be following them. We can’t give them an entire nights start.” Tristan raised his voice, frustrated with his friend trying to tell him what to do. He was the leader of the quest, he should be the one making the plans for their group, and above all else, he shouldn’t allow his quest members to be taken away by the enemy. “Tristan, do you even know where we are? If we lose track of them while we’re following them, what are we going to do? Wander around until we run out of food? And if we don’t clearly show that we’re coming after Spencer, they’re going to kill her. Right now, they know that we want to find her, they won’t harm her until we find them. Even then they’ll use her as a bargaining method.” Hans’ hand gripped Tristan’s arm in order to ensure that the son of Apollo was listening to him. “Fine, we’ll camp for the night, but tomorrow first thing we’re leaving. And if anything happens to Spencer, it’s on you.” If Hans wanted to play the leader, he would have to deal with the consequences.

The two moved farther into the wooded area that they had landed in. They didn’t want to be spotted by anyone messing around in the woods at night, or by someone who might report them, thinking they were up to no good. Opening his backpack, he pulled out a sweatshirt that he brought with him on the quest and zipped his backpack back up. Placing it behind his head, he rested against the somewhat awkwardly shaped bag. Adrenaline was running through his body causing him to not be able to rest and feel sleep come to him, even though it was night. It seemed as though Hans was having the same problem, as he sat up looking around their surroundings. “One of us should stay up and keep watch.” He stated when he realized that Tristan was staring at him. At this point, Tristan didn’t think they had anyone to be afraid of; the demititans already got what they wanted during the attack. However, this time he didn’t fight with his friend, knowing that neither of them were going to be able to go to sleep too quickly after the attack. Tristan spent the rest of the night, before falling asleep, staring up to the sky. During the night, he could see the moon clearly; after all, Artemis was fine. He wondered if his aunt was concerned about her brother, and if any of the gods were searching for Apollo or if they were voting to see who the next god of the sun would be. Eventually, his eyes shut and he was able to fall out of consciousness.

                                          YA GOTTA GET UP

Feeling a light shake on his shoulder, Tristan woke up to find his best friend standing above him. “We should get going. I think it’s the morning. My watch stopped working a little while ago.” Tristan yawned and stretched before taking out his own watch to check the time. It read that the time was seven in the morning. He rose from where he had made himself comfortable the night before. Picking up his backpack, he grabbed the one that Hans had brought with him when they got off the train, Spencer’s belongings. It was more for him to carry, but he wasn’t going to leave her things behind, they might be useful once they found the female. Besides, he doubted that they would give her a change of clothes, and she wasn’t one who would want to wear the same thing for too long.

Tristan began to walk towards where the demititans ran off with Spencer. Hans followed quietly behind him, and there were words shared between the two that morning. At least, not until they reached a large sign that stated “WELCOME TO CARLSBAD, NEW MEXICO. Home of the Carlsbad Caverns.” “Well at least we know where we are now.” Tristan said nothing, but began to walk towards the closest gas station that he could see. It was still a walk away, but when they reached it, there would be someone to ask about where exactly they were, since Tristan had no idea where Carlsbad was. Once more silence fell between the two as they walked towards the gas station. Hardly any cars passed them, and it began to sprinkle rain outside. When they reached the building, the top of Tristan’s head was beginning to grow wet. “Good morning, I was wondering if there are any maps of Carlsabad here.” The woman behind the desk pointed to the free maps that were sitting by the door. Grabbing two water bottles, he paid for them and headed towards the door. On the way out, he grabbed a map. Handing over a water bottle to the son of Eros, he opened the map and attempted to find out where they were. “You think that maybe Colter was wrong? I mean, not about the sort of place they are camping out, but why would the demititans attack us in New Mexico if their base place is in Arizona.” Tristan was pretty sure that Hans was lucky Colter wasn’t there at that moment. He had never questioned what Colter thought before, but he figured that it wouldn’t be the prettiest sight in the world. Thinking about back to what Colter said about Apollo’s bolt, he wasn’t so sure that they should take the time to look around here. “I don’t know. I think that Colter had a good point about them being in Arizona. I don’t want to leave Spencer with them for any longer.” Hans seemed bothered by Tristan going against what he thought. “Tristan, we’re already here, can’t we just check around here, and in three hours if we can’t find anything that points towards them, we can find a way to get to Arizona.” Tristan didn’t like the plan, but he didn’t want to cause anymore fighting with his friend. “Fine, three hours.

                                          TRES HORAS MAS TARDE

It took them ten minutes to get a taxi and get to the entrance of the national park. Another reason that Tristan didn’t believe that the demititans were here was the fact that it was a national park. However, he went along and walked with Hans into the park. After paying an outrageous amount of money in order to get into the place. They spent the next two hours and fifty minutes walking around attempting to find some sort of sign that the demititans were there. “Ten twenty-three. It has been exactly three hours Hans. You said that if we couldn’t find a sign, then we could head over to Arizona.” Tristan tried to remind his friend of the deal that they had made before searching through the caverns. The son of Eros gave out a sigh, “You’re right, I guess I shouldn’t question children of Athena.” Hans commented as they began to walk towards the entrance of the park. They had looked through far too many caves to count while they were searching that morning, and they would then have to sit in some sort of transportation in order to get to Arizona and do it all over again.

By this point, they had made it rather deep into the park and the walk back would take them about thirty minutes itself. “I’m sorry about getting mad with you last night. I wasn’t really in the correct mind set.” He apologized to his best friend. “It’s fine I understand. I know that there have been a lot of things going on in your life lately. Remember, Spencer smack me because of you.” Hans joked back to him. “So how are we going to get to Arizona? I’m sure that the trains aren’t running correctly after what happened last night. They are probably doing some sort of test to ensure that nothing of the sort happens again.” Hans was right, and Tristan hadn’t really thought about that. “I’m not sure, we could hitchhike I guess?” Neither one of them seemed to interested in the idea. Turning the corner that should have led them back to the entrance they found that they were in a completely different place in the park. “I thought that if you turned left here, we would be back at where we started.” Hans said, turning around, attempting to find where they were. “Maybe we turned wrong somewhere else. This place is large. Wasn’t there one of those help poles back a little ways? We can go back there and make a call to the front desk and figure out where we are.” Tristan had already begun to walk back to the help pole he had seen. It wasn’t until he realized that Hans wasn’t following him that he turned around to find the son of Eros standing quietly beside the edge of a cave. It didn’t take long for Tristan to realize what he was looking at. There was a male about their age making his way into a cave that they hadn’t explored. Tristan quietly made his way to the side of his friend. “Maybe it’s a good thing we got lost.” Tristan whispered when he got into a hiding spot. “I don’t know about you, but that sure looks like one of those guys that attacked us last night. I think we should check this place out.” Tristan nodded in agreement with Hans. “I’ll take lead you follow. Better that they just get one of us instead of both, then we’re screwed.

Tristan didn’t like the idea of splitting up, but before he was able to protest, the other male began to make his way towards the entrance of the cave. He remained in the hiding spot until Hans waved him forward. To which he followed him just into the opening of the cave. Hans moved back out on his own, making his way farther into the dark cave. Hans stopped short, bending down to listen to someone who was talking. He was about to turn around and signal to Tristan, but before he was able there were arms around him pulling him back. “What have we got here?” A girl’s voice came from behind Tristan. Arms grabbed him while he was turning to see who was behind him. “Take them to the holding cells with the others.” She demanded and the two demititans holding onto Tristan and Hans began to drag them farther into the cave. He could hear the girl talking to someone else saying, “Everything is going as planned.” He could’ve sworn that he knew the voice from one of his visions.

Tristan felt stupid for being caught. Of course they wouldn’t leave the entrance to the cave open, but the girl had said take them to the others, there was a chance that they were taking them to where Spencer was. When they were finished being dragged down into the ground, they stood outside of a room. “Jack, we have the other two demigods. You need to report to Adira.” A taller male turned around, not seeming pleased to hear the other give him orders. “Can’t you see that I’m busy at the moment? Take them to another holding cell.” Tristan craned his neck as far as possible, and could barely get a glimpse of Spencer in the room. He wanted to call out to her, but he knew better than that. They probably already knew about their relationship, he didn’t want them to hold that against her. “Fine, I’ll take them to a different cell, but you still have to go speak with Adira, now.” He stated, pulling Hans and Tristan into a cell diagonal to the one Spencer was in. It took a minute for most of the demititans to exit the area. Hans sighed when they were finally alone once more. “Sorry, I didn’t see them when we entered.” He said honestly, and looking defeated. “It’s not just your fault. I should have realized it too.” Moving back to the door of the cell, they had locked the door. Touching the metal he felt a shock hit his hand. “Watch out, the bars are electric.” He wondered why the hadn’t search either Tristan or Hans, but he didn’t want to give them too much time to plan anything. They needed to start their own plan. “Spencer, Spencer, can you hear me?” He called, not too loudly, but enough that she should be able to hear him. He needed to get on the same page as the daughter of Aphrodite, and get them out of the cave before it was too late.

Spencer moaned her eyes fluttering open. Tristan was holding her face in one hand the other tucking strands of white blonde hair behind her ear ”Tris?” she asked her voice soft. ”Close but no cigar Spencer.” the man said smiling down at her. Spencer huffed and blinked her eyes pushing herself up, a pain shot through her shoulder. It was like a wake-up call suddenly the world was razor sharp. The man was about her father’s age with golden brown curls, molten honey eyes, and the remnants of a great tan. His build was lean and athletic but he looked sort of hung-over and had manacles around both ankles ”Apollo.” she said clearing her throat realizing she had mistaken son for father. A wry smirk painted itself on his mouth ”In the flesh.” he acknowledged. ”How’d you like get here? she asked chewing the inside of her cheek. ”They lured me here by stealing my bow. Helios’ used the solstice when I was weakest and set his children after me for revenge for his daughter’s death.” he explained with a sigh ”Bummer.” Spencer sighed ”You’re telling me, but I think my luck’s changing.” he said grinning at her as he ran his finger running down her straight nose. ”My nose.” Spencer said realizing that her nose was no longer broken. ”Hey it’s the least I can do for the girl that is going to save me.” he said offering his hand to her.

Apollo couldn’t heal her shoulder, he didn’t have enough power for that, but it also wouldn’t tip the demititans that Apollo and Spencer were working together. ”I’ve seen it. He has a thing for you Jack, the torturer.” he said. Spencer snorted he had a funny way of expressing his affections, maiming her and breaking her nose ”I doubt it.” she said. ”He’s twisted, he is a son of Lepetus. You’ll see he’ll come for you again and profess his love to you.” he told her seeming certain of it, had he seen that too? ”No matter what you must refuse him. It will enrage him and he will hurt you again, badly. When you wake up again I won’t be able to heal you, he’ll want to see his work. When you wake up you will ask for him and go to him and ask to be alone.” he told her. Spencer frowned ”Why would I go to him?” she asked. ”You will get him alone and make him give you my bow. Once you have it they won’t be able to stop you.” he instructed. Suddenly it fell into place, she would use the Apollo Bow to free the god and from then he would be at full power and armed. ”I’ll do it, I’ll save us.” she nodded agreeing to his plan. ”Good girl, I knew you would. You know your mother’s right about you.” he said with a smile. Spencer was about to ask her about what she meant when he shook his head ”He comes.” he said.

True to Apollo’s words she heard footsteps down the hall. A minute later she noticed a hum was gone from the air and then Jack’s face was between the bars ”Hello darling, did you miss me?” he asked slipping the key into the lock. ”Not really, you’re twisted.” she spat as he entered into the cell. ”Don’t say that lover, it makes me terribly angry.” he said crossing to her and back handing her. Spencer grunted and cupped her throbbing cheek ”Don’t touch her!” Apollo said moving to the end of his chain. ”A hunting hound with no teeth, you have no power here sun god!” Jack screamed at Apollo. ”You must really be something Spencer Jane, all the men of Apollo love you, Apollo loves you, the world it seems loves you.” he said with a sick smile. Pulling out a knife he moved to run the curve of her blade along her arm ”That’s right my love, I know you. I went through and read Nik’s reports and found you. He writes so fondly of you, but I have to admit he doesn’t do you justice.” he said leaning in to place his lips on hers. As she moved to pull back he bit her lip tearing the tender flesh a laugh bubbling from him ”You’re so delicious love of mine.” he said giggling. Spencer spat blood in his face ”You’re sick, we’re not lovers and we never will be.” she told him. Pressing the knife into her flesh Spencer let out a whimper knowing that it would give the demititan some sort of sick satisfaction ”I love that noise, make it again for me Spencer, darling.” he said moving the knife to her side and slicing through the fabric of her dress and into the flesh over her ribs. Spencer couldn’t hold back the scream which only fueled him more pressing the knife until she felt it hit bone. The blonde’s knees buckled under her ”Oh no my love, you’re a fighter, you must be stronger than that.” he said angrily throwing a right cross to her face re-breaking the nose Apollo had managed to heal. Black dots started to swim in Spencer’s field of vision as she pushed herself up ”I am a fighter.” she said hotly taking an ill aimed swipe at him. Jack merely laughed ”There’s my Spencer, good girl, try again love.” he told her. Spencer lunged at him throwing herself into his gut, Jack merely laughed again ”Here she is!”[/color he said gleefully grabbing a hand full of her hair pulling him away from her ”Oh the fun we will have you and I.” he said. Someone moved to the cell but all Spencer could hear was the blood rushing through her ears as she struggled against Jack. Suddenly the pressure on her scalp was gone and she collapsed onto the floor of the cave ”I have some things to attend to but we’ll have our time soon lover.” he said before running his tongue along the long cut of her arm. Spencer managed to hold on to her tears until he left before she curled up and started to sob in pain and anger. She could faintly hear the sounds of Apollo’s manacles dragging across the ground ”Sleep Spencer, you truly are a fighter.” he said crouching down to caress her face lulling her into sleep.

please tell me this is a nightmare

Once more Spencer found herself moaning and groaning as she woke up. She was covered in her own blood and in more pain than she had ever been in before. ”Try not to move, he cut you too deeply the wound will not stop bleeding.” Apollo told her looking down at her a sad look on his face. ”I can still do this.” she told him pushing herself up. ”Totally.” he agreed nodding his head ”Even now he thinks that he has won.” he added. ”Good.” Spencer said angrily. ”Spencer? Is that you can you hear me?” she heard Tristan’s voice and she was sure that she was hallucinating again, just the sound of his voice made her feel better, stronger.

Holding the dark red slash at her side she moved to the bars ”Be careful.” Apollo warned her. Spencer nodded and stood a few inches away ”JACK! I want to see Jack!” she called out. The guards moved towards her cell ”You actually want to see him Princess?” one of them asked looking at her as if she had turned into a hydra. Spencer nodded ”That’s what I said, take me to him now.” she commanded the guards. Their faces went slack as they nodded in unison the hum of the bars fading before they unlocked the cell. Spencer moved out of the cell behind the guards and paused seeing Tristan and Hans in one of the other holding cells ”Tris… not you too.” she said softly blinking back the tears welling in her blue eyes. Reaching out with her red hand she wanted to reach through the bars but stopped hearing the same humming bars her cell featured ”Don’t worry, I’ll fix this.” she told him swallowing the lump in her throat. ”We’re taking you to Jack.” one of the guards said still drunk on her previous command reaching out to pull her hard down the hall. Spencer jerked her arm away wincing in pain and a dark thought crept into her mind, what if Apollo was wrong ”I love you Tris, more than anything, I love you.” she told him, just in case as the demititans pulled her away towards their twisted leader.

Spencer sat holding her side as she waited for Jack the guards by the door so she couldn’t leave as if she could get far. ”I hear you were asking for me darling dear.” the tall demititan said entering the room a smirk painted on his face. Spencer nodded and stopped favoring her side ”I was hoping we could be alone.” she said tilting her head looking up at him. ”Leave.” he told the others his eyes trained on her. Spencer patted the seat next to her ”Sit?” she asked. ”Why?” he asked narrowing his eyes. ”I can’t stand.” she told him showing him her red palm. A bulge grew in his pants, his face changing to lust ”I can’t refuse you when you’re like this.” he said moving towards her to sit. He had no idea how right he was. Taking her hand he licked blood from her palm ”You should have it fresh.” she told him pulling her dress up to show the deep cut and he moaned as he moved to her bare side before latching onto the wound. She could feel his tongue probing the gash and resisted the urge to throw up on the top of his head. When she finally couldn’t take it anymore she reached up and grabbed a handful of his hair and jerked his head back ”Show it to me.” she said looking down at him. Jack rached for his fly but Spencer shook her head ”The Apollo bow, I want to see it. I want to see how you tamed a god.” she told him.

Just as he claimed, he couldn’t resist her. After leaving her side he went outside and ordered his minions to bring him the bow of Apollo; his voice authoritative and demanding. When he entered it was with a large cherry wood box ”Here it is.” he told her. ”Show it to me.” she told him. As Jack opened the box the warm glow of summer’s sun filled the room reveling the most beautiful bow she had ever seen. Spencer reached out and wrapped her hand around it. Her wounds healed, her body became a perfect golden vessel humming with power. She was no longer in her bloody sundress but a golden armored mini dress and Grecian sandals that laced all the way up to her knees and her hair piled on top of her head save for a few spiraled curls and a quiver full of arrows on her back. She was a golden goddess and nothing could stop her.

Standing up with godly speed she turned and smacked Jack in the face with the butt of the bow. Moving to him she picked him up with a single hand and held him off the ground so that his feet dangled before stabbing him through the shoulder with an arrow and then the other. She relished in his screams and wanted to give him more but the guards entered interfering. Turning Spencer notched an arrow to the bowstring and fired killing one guard, before he hit the ground she had fired again to take out the second. Running from the room she saw a group approaching her. Charging them she took the bow and used it to vault herself over them and slid and she landed, one hand in front of her the other holding the bow behind her. Swinging the weapon around she fired one arrow after another until the demititans were nothing but a pile of bodies. Standing she could feel herself forgetting something, something important.

                                                                              Tristan.

Running back towards the cells Spencer dropped any demititans she saw along the way, swatting them down like the flies that they were. Firing an arrow at the bars of the cells there was a burst of electricity before the door sprang open freeing Tristan and Hans. ”Spencer.” a man called to her from across the hall. Spencer felt sorry for him, the old sun god, she should just put him out of his misery; she was the sun now. Moving in front of the cage she fit an arrow to the bow ”Your time has passed. I am the golden goddess Spencer. I am the sun and I rule all that it touches.” she told him. ”No Spencer, it’s the bow. My bow.” he told her. ”Not anymore.” she told him. ”Spencer no!” a young man called out moving between her and the bars obstructing her view ”Do you think that will stop me? I have perfect aim silly.” she told the silly mortal. ”Spence, please.” he begged looking at her tears in his eyes ”Don’t kill my father. This isn’t you; you love me more than anything.” he told her. His words hit her, and suddenly he wasn’t some silly mortal. He was her Tristan and she loved him more than anything; more than this power. ”Tristan.” she said his name breaking the spell as she dropped the bow.

As it left her hand she felt all of her power and strength drained from her. Instead of hitting the ground the bow snapped to Apollo’s hand ”Look away.” he told them. Spencer closed her eyes seconds before a hot flash filled the air. As she opened them again she saw Apollo free and filled with the godly power than had just flowed through her veins. Moving through the manacles and bars as if they were nothing he moved to Spencer and cupped her face ”You truly are a child of Aphrodite. You were the Sun, the new goddess and you chose love of my son above all else.” he told her flashing his dazzling smile at her. Spencer shook her head, a few more tendrils of hair falling from her up-do, it was no contest; a life without Tristan, even an immortal one, was nothing without Tristan. Apollo nodded as if to say he knew ”It’s a shame because you really are so incredibly hot.” he told her. Spencer rolled her eyes ”I’m like way more than incredibly hot.” she told him. ”So true, now we really have to go. I have to work on this tan, but if you ever need anything I owe you one.” he told her. ”Tristan, I want you to spend the day with him.” she blurted out looking over at her ex. Apollo tossed his head back and laughed ”You get a favor from the sun god and you want to use it for that?” he asked. Spencer nodded her head ”It’s what I want.” she told Apollo. ”It’s a deal babe.” Apollo said snapping his fingers.

There was a flash of light and Spencer covered her eyes. When she felt the heat fade she uncovered her eyes and blinked to find herself and Hans standing on the top of Half Blood Hill. Her armored mini dress was no longer golden but silver to match her barrette that was now in her hair. The shining sun glittered off her armor like a beacon calling the campers out of their cabins filling the valley with the sounds of cheers.

He could barely see into the cell diagonal to them, but a face appeared in his sight. He hadn’t seen much of his father, but at the sight of the god of the sun, he knew exactly who he was. “Father-” he said, moving to the bars that kept him in, without thinking. Touching the metal again, he felt the electrical shock run through him. Stepping slightly back, he looked back up to his father. “She’s sleeping, she’s gone through a lot. I’ll signal you when she begins to show signs of waking.” Tristan didn’t like this idea, he wanted to speak with his ex-girlfriend now, but he knew that he would have to listen to his father now.

Taking a seat in the cell, he glanced to Hans for the first time since they were dropped into the cell. “I guess we sit now. Not much else for us to do, huh?” Hans shrugged a bit, clearly not too excited. He looked rather troubled at the moment. “What? Is something wrong? I mean other than the obvious?” His friend shrugged, letting out a long sigh. “I was just thinking, do you really think it’s worth it?” Tristan grew increasingly confused at his best friend. “What are you talking about Hans? If we don’t free my father, then Olympus will fall. Of course this is worth it.” Hans glanced up rather surprised this time. “I wasn’t talking about that. I meant, how should I put this.” The son of Eros went silent for a minute. He was clearly thinking about how to say what he wanted to say. “All of your arguing with Spencer. Do you think it’s worth it? My dating someone outside of the camp, she’ll never be able to handle the truth about me.” For as far back as Tristan could remember, Hans did this. Randomly going on about how life worked and whether or not everything was worth it. It was as though his friend would have great epiphanies occasionally. Tristan never minded his random thoughts on life, but he didn’t always agree with them. “Besides, even if Yvonne could handle knowing who I was, what’s the chances that we’d actually be able to grow old together? The only place I’m safe at is Camp Half Blood, and she can’t step onto our borders.” Tristan glanced at his friend, but didn’t make a comment this time, deciding it would just be better to let Hans talk. “Do you think that Spencer and you will get married?” Tristan was surprised to hear his friend bring this up. “We’re broken up, what are you talking about?” “So? Plenty of people break up with the one they eventually marry. There are all those stories about people who marry someone after being apart for thirty years, but they always knew that they were meant to be.

At that comment, Tristan wondered where his best friend was actually going at with this. There was the obvious point that he thought that Tristan shouldn’t be wasting his time being angry with the daughter of Aphrodite, but he wondered if Hans knew something that he didn’t. “So, you’re saying that you think Spencer and I are meant to be? What gave you that idea? Your father?” Aphrodite’s son himself was Hans’ father. Aphrodite might have been the goddess of love, but she sure spent a good amount of time worried about the shallow parts of love. Not that Tristan had anything against her, but the more well known god of love, for mortals, was Eros, or as mortals knew him, Cupid. “I guess that the prophecy just got me thinking.” Hans speculated. Tristan gave him a questionable look. “What about the prophecy?” “You know, the line that decided I would go on this trip. Child of love to, what was it again?” “Mend the wounds.” Tristan replied, still not sure what Hans was trying to say here. Tristan figured that this would have to do with his father. “The question is, which wounds.” Hans stated. Tristan didn’t think that Hans was thinking correctly, probably just over thinking things like he usually did.

As much as he didn’t want to start getting too deep into thoughts that didn’t need to happen during the quest, he couldn’t help let his mind drift towards his ex-girlfriend. Since she came back from Europe she had been acting differently. Actually, since she took up those modeling jobs and began to work with Stella and Rob she’d been acting odd. He understood that her job was stressful, and that people spent all of their time judging her, but he didn’t think it was right for her to walk out on him. Sure, he had sang a song about cheating, but that didn’t mean that he was cheating on Spencer. Despite all that had happened recently, he loved the daughter of Aphrodite with all of his heart. He would do anything to fix what had happened between the two, but he wanted to give Spencer the space that she needed. Though, he also knew that asking her on the quest probably did the exact opposite of what he wanted to do, but he didn’t think he had much say in the matter.

Hearing sound coming from the cell across the way, he turned, trying to see his father. The god of the sun gave him a nod, and disappeared from sight. Tristan stood up, hoping to get a glimpse of Spencer. “Spencer? Is that you? Can you hear me?” He wanted to see her, know that she was alright, hear her voice. However, the first words that he heard in her tone were that she wanted to see Jack. Who was Jack? Tristan glanced at Hans questioning what was going on. The son of Eros just shrugged his arms as confused as Tristan was. It didn’t take long for two guards to appear and walk up to the cell, talking to Spencer. She demanded again to be taken to Jack. When they began to do the task of getting her out of the cell, he finally caught sight of his ex-girlfriend. Seeing her in the state she was in, his eyes widened. She was bleeding from her side, and bruises all over her skin. “Spencer,” he gasped, as he reached the bars. Stopping himself before he touched them, not wanting to be shocked again. She then stated that she would fix this, and he wanted to not have those stupid electric bars keeping them apart. He wanted to hold her and tell her that she didn’t have to do it all on her own. That he was there for her, and would always be there for her. One of the guards stated that they would be taking her to the Jack guy. They began to pull her towards another room, but before she left, she told him exactly what he wanted, needed to hear. “I love you too, Spence. With all of me.” he said, following her down the hall in his cell. He watched as they opened the door and dragged her farther down. He watched, and prayed to all of the gods that this wasn’t the biggest mistake that she was making. Hoped for Olympus, for his father, for Hans, for the camp, and for them.

                                          WHAT’S TAKING SO LONG?

The wait felt like forever. He tried to talk Hans into attempting to break out of the cell with him, but his father told him that Spencer would be fine. Tristan didn’t feel comfortable, after seeing her injures, but he wanted to listen to his father. He didn’t get to spend much time with the god, something that all of the demigods understood, not spending time with their godly parent. He had his pocket watch out, watching how much time had passed. Part of him wished to turn his watch back into his bow and attack the demititans, but he figured doing so while trapped inside of a cell wasn’t the best idea in the world. “What’s taking her so long?” He questioned Hans who was sitting on the ground in the cell still lost in thought. He began to pace back and forth in the cell they were being kept in. That was, until he began to hear people running around outside of the area the cell were in. Moving back towards the edge of the cell, he did his best to see what was going on. There were demititans bustling around attempting to fight, or maybe run.

That’s when she appeared. Tristan didn’t know what had happened behind closed doors, but he could now see Spencer as he had never seen her before. Instead of standing in her bloody clothes, she wore an armored Greek dress. Her hair pulled onto the top of her head. It wasn’t until he saw what she was holding that Tristan understood what had happened. In her hand, she carried his father’s bow. He’d heard stories about demigods that messed with godly items. There was of course the faun who’d tried to wear the Helmet of Athena on Colter’s quest. However, Spencer seemed to be doing fine with his father’s bow. Maybe it was because her main weapon was the bow and arrow? Raising the weapon, she aimed for the door of Hans’ and his cell. Now the son of Eros was off the ground and standing ready to get out from their holding. When the arrow hit the electrically charged door, it sparked for a second, but opened. Stepping out of the cell, he turned to smile towards Spencer, to thank her, when he realized that she wasn’t in a right state of mind. He thought too soon about her being able to handle Apollo’s bow. She was standing before his father, bow and arrow in hand. Taking a deep breath, Tristan ran towards his father. They had come so far to save him, and now Spencer, though he knew he wasn’t in the right state of mind, could ruin it all. When he placed himself in between the daughter of Aphrodite and his father, he held his arms out. “Spencer no!” Now he knew that she wasn’t herself, asking him if he was going to stop him, and that she had perfect aim. “Spence, please.” His vision grew blurry, and body began to shake. He was proud that Spencer had saved them, and grateful that she was okay, but he didn’t want to see her in this kind of state. He didn’t want to watch her kill a god, his father. “Don’t kill my father. This isn’t you; you love me more than anyone.” He hoped that bringing up their love would make her think. She might be in a godly state of mind, but she was still a daughter of Aphrodite. Her voice returned to normal saying his name, and she dropped the bow she was holding.

Moving towards his ex-girlfriend, Tristan placed a hand on her side, and opened his mouth. However, before he was able to say anything, his father told them to look away from him. Closing his eyes, Tristan could feel heat and see light even with his eyes closed. When the brightness died down, he opened his eyes once more. His father walked to Spencer, and Tristan backed up so Apollo could speak to her. Tristan wasn’t sure how comfortable he felt with his father talking about how attractive Spencer was. Not that he had a problem with others looking at his ex-girlfriend, but it was his father after all. Besides, if she wouldn’t give him up in order to become the sun, he figured she would give him up for the sun god. There was just something about a god hitting on someone that made him feel odd, though that’s how all of the demigods were born. His father informed Spencer that he owed her something anytime. That’s when she said it. Said that she wanted him to spend the day with his father. She glanced to him, and he didn’t know what to say, he was speechless, and before he knew it, his father snapped his fingers and everything went dark.

                                          FAST FORWARD

The rest of the day, Tristan spent time with his father in his “chariot” driving the sun. He couldn’t see people from so far up, but he figured that they were all pleased to see the sun come out once more. It was also a clear sign to Colter and other demigods not at camp that they had succeeded in their quest. As the sun set in the United States and his father headed for Asia, the god asked to see Tristan’s pocket watch. Reaching into his pocket, he took out the watch his father had given him years before. Apollo transformed it into his bow, and stared down at the bow. “Rather plain, isn’t it?” Tristan had always rather liked his bow. It always felt right in his hands and as though it was made for him. However, he didn’t speak against his father at this point in time. In his hands, the bow began to shift forms. Turning from his ordinary looking bow into an exact replica of his father’s bow. “Much better,” he said, handing it back to Tristan. “My gift, from me to you.” Tristan took the bow in his hands, and was surprised that it felt better to hold than his old bow, if that was even possible. “Thanks, dad.” Calling his father by the name felt odd, foreign to him, but he couldn’t think of anything else to call him. “Just keep a good eye on that beauty from Aphrodite’s cabin. She’s a keeper, but if she ever dumps you again, she’s totally mine.” Again Tristan felt strange talking with his father about Spencer, but that was the end of the conversation. His father raised his hand, snapped his fingers and everything went dark.

Seconds later he was standing before his siblings in the middle of their cabin. It took everyone a minute to realize that he had just appeared before them. Getting up from their beds that they were relaxing on, they all made their way to him, wrapping their arms around him and congratulating him on his quest. Taking his time in his cabin, Althea let him know that Chiron wished to speak to him when he returned. Deciding to meet with Spencer and Hans before heading towards the Big House, Chiron would probably wish to speak to them all together anyways, unless he’d already talked to Spencer and Hans when they arrived. Leaving his cabin, he headed for the Aphrodite cabin, wishing to speak to Spencer before meeting up with Hans and going to the Big House. He lightly knocked on the door, not wanting to surprise any of them. No shocker, Tasha was the one to open the door to the cabin. “Spencer is resting right now.” She apparently wasn’t over the being angry with Tristan after their argument before the quest. “I just need to speak with her for a minute.” Tristan did his best at lying, though he was only partly lying. He did need to speak with Spencer, and he was hoping that it wouldn’t take too long, but he also figured it would be longer than a minute. Tasha didn’t seem to believe what he was saying, probably because he was a terrible liar. It wasn’t until he heard Spencer call from inside of the cabin that Tasha let him in. Though she gave him a warning to not tire her out. “Gotcha, loud and clear.” He said quietly as he walked into the cabin. There were plenty of children of Aphrodite sitting around in their cabin. It was almost dark, and Tristan figured that they had already finished dinner, and were probably skipping out on sing along for the night.

Passing Elizabeth, he could tell that she was growing closer to her due date for her child with Zeke. He gave her a smile nod and smile before walking farther into the cabin. The twins were sitting around as well, though not as close as they had always seemed to Tristan. Though he did remember Spencer talking about how they were beginning to grow distanced lately. When he reached Spencer’s bed, he figured that she was either lying down because she was tired from the quest, or that Tasha had just badgered her enough with talk about what the doctors had told her to do. “Afternoon, Spence,” he said, taking a seat on the edge of her bed. He felt somewhat awkward, knowing that almost all of Spencer’s siblings were listening in on their conversation. He could ask if they would leave, but he doubted that Tasha would allow that. Besides, it would basically be him trying to kick them out of their own cabin. “Is it alright if we talk for a little bit?” He questioned, trying his best to block out all of the eyes on his back. “Of course Tris.” Spencer said, sitting up in her bed. “Well it’s just, while we were on the quest I was doing some thinking. Well, mostly Hans was doing some thinking, but he sort of brought up the idea in my head. And he was asking me about you, about our relationship and if all this fighting was really worth it.” He knew where he wanted to go with this, but he was never great with words, apparently the poetry gene hadn’t come up too well for him. “And it got me thinking. We’re mortals, thank the gods. But, that means that one day we’re going to die, and being demigods it’s likely that we might not live as long as some other mortals. I know that no matter how long I live, or how soon I die, there is one thing I don’t want to die without, and that’s you Spence. I love you Spence, and I don’t want to spend another day without you beside me.” Tristan explained, placing a hand cheek lightly, he leaned down and lightly pressed his lips against hers. Pulling away, he took her hand, “So, if you’ll take me back, I would love to be able to call you my girlfriend once more.

He could hear someone at the door of the cabin. At first, he thought that it was Jake, but then he realized that it was Hans standing by the door. “Welcome back.” The son of Eros said to Tristan. He was surprised that the Aphrodite campers weren’t attacking Hans, for being in their cabin, one of those rivalries in camp that were never overly pretty. “We should go speak with Chiron.” Tristan said, rising from Spencer’s bed, but Hans held out his hand. “We’ve already done that. Though, he brought up that you might want to have a conversation with Colter West when you got back.” Tristan was grateful to hear that he wasn’t going to have to talk with the head of activities after his long day with his father. Nodding his head, he turned back to Spencer, “I’m going to go give Colter a call.” He made his way out of the door of the Aphrodite cabin, knowing that Tasha would have kicked him out soon enough anyways. Hans followed behind him, a weird smirk on his face. “What?” Tristan questioned at him. “I was right wasn’t I?” Tristan couldn’t help but roll his eyes at his friend. “Whatever, don’t get so full of yourself.” Tristan said, shoving his friend slightly. “Besides, you were also talking about your relationship with Yvonne weren’t you?” Hans face changed a little bit, first to an upset look, and then to a blush. “What?” Tristan asked, as they made their way to the Apollo cabin. Tristan was planning on sending Colter a call with the sink or shower. “Well it got me to thinking too. So when I got back from the quest, I broke it off with her.” “I’m sorry to hear that-” “It’s fine, it was the right thing to do. We’re not meant to date mortals, there is a reason why most can’t handle the truth.” Tristan gave an small nod of understanding to the son of Eros and then parted ways with him.

Reaching the bathroom, he turned on the water in the shower, and found a drachma, tossing it into the small rainbow created by the light and water, “Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please accept my offering.” The water shimmered, “Colter West.” Through the rainbow, he could see Colter’s face appear. “Colter, it’s great to see you.” He said, a smile on his face. However, it slowly disappeared as he saw the look on Colter’s face. “Is something wrong?” Colter explained that Remi and he went to the doctor that day, and the news had been nothing good. “I’m sorry to hear about that Colter. I really am.” He didn’t know how to bring up the success in the quest after hearing such bad news for the son of Athena and daughter of Hermes. Nodding Colter put a small smile on his face, “But I saw the sun come out today. Congratulations.” Tristan nodded his head, “Thank you,” and after a pause, “I should let you get back Remi. I’ll talk to you later.” He said, swiping his hand through the rainbow and connection. Turning off the water, he walked back to his cabin and sat down on his bed, leaning back, there were so many emotions running through his head, he didn’t know which one to feel. Instead, he closed his eyes, “Someone turn off that light.” He said to his cabin, and his siblings obeyed, flipping the light switch, and quieting their voices.
