I haven't even finished one wing. Too many rare fish involved.
Those dang rare fish! I ended up having to craft rares from commons...because I'm too cheap to spend trillions on fish. It takes lots of time and patience but you can do it.
I didn't know you cold do that! How do you craft better fish? how many does it take?
Old Man Logan's gold shop The Ole Fishing Hole has a game item exchange where you can trade fish for avatar items, mostly hats...but at that game item exchange, you can also trade small fish for large fish. It takes 10 small fish (such as Pebbos) to get a medium fish (such as a Biter), and it takes 10 medium fish to get a large fish (such as a Boldur). This has been the case since the earliest days of Fishing, but you couldn't trade all the way up to Rares like the Lions... until the Great Fishing Update of 2010, the one that added a bunch of newer fish like the Mutant Crabs and Racerfish. That update also gave us the ability to trade 1,000 of the older large fish (Boldurs) for Rares.
Note that the fish trades in Old Man Logan's fish exchange are locked by color. You can't just trade any random thousand Boldurs for a Diamondback. A Diamondback Lion requires you to trade 1,000 Sand Boldurs, which equals 10,000 Bluestone Biters, which equals 100,000 White Pebbo Feeders; likewise, a Rubyback Lion requires 1,000 Slate Boldurs, which equals 10,000 Pyrite Biters, which equals 100,000 Black Pebbo Feeders.
At first I thought that's super helpful, but then checking the MP I realized that you could just buy a diamondback lion for a fraction of the price of all those pebbos. Not that anyone is selling 100,000 white pebbos, the most I see right now is 100 of them for 1,250p. That would be 1,250,000p to make a diamondback, while just buying it would cost 150,000.
Boy, I shoulda bought a bunch of them when they were like 10g each. Even if I had singlehandedly inflated the price to 100g each, I could have bought enough to make an entire lion for 1p.
