It sort of happened in reverse for me. I had gotten to talking with someone on Gaia that I'd never conversed with before (I don't remember how) and somehow the subject came out of where we lived. Anyway it turned out that he was from my neighborhood, went to my high school, and knew who my younger brother was (they were in the same grade). That was pretty weird for me. xd

Other than that, I the whole reason I got introduced to Gaia was an IRL friend, who I'm still friends with both IRL and on Gaia.

It was during Halloween in high school when I saw someone in my physics class wearing an OMG hat. So I asked him if he went to Gaia and he said yes. We talked for a bit and exchanged usernames. The next day he told me that he accepted my friend request and was surprised by the items I had. I felt embarrassed because he was talking pretty loud and people were asking what he was getting excited about. XD

No, nope. Can't say I've met anyone irl who has a Gaia account. Now, I'm not counting any family members who may have an account. It's just not a subject I bring up around folks. I mean how do I explain that I like playing paper-dolls with my avatar, browsing the forums and occasionally go off and buy art for OCs. I feel that most people would just blink at me and back away like I as contagious.

i've never met anyone with a gaia account, that i know of. i live in the shittiest of shitty little towns where everyone is uncool apart from me.
i've been at visual kei concerts (in london, not in my shitty town) where there have to have been people there with gaia accounts, but it's not like i'd go around asking everyone.

I have never met anyone in RL with a gaia account. My sisters did join and they stayed on for a bit, but then they just left.

They always tease me about it, especially when I ask them to do something for me on my account (they live in the US while I live in France). But they've just come to accept it as a part of my weirdness.

I work in a business environment, so I can't imagine the reaction I would get if I told someone I came on here. They'd probably call me childish. (youngest one in the department and a student as well).

It'd be pretty cool to know someone IRL who has a gaia account. Sadly, out of my group of friends, I'm the only one who geeks out to anime/manga so there's no chance.

Some of my friends when I was in high school played on gaia. But they left and never returned. My sister played on here when I first joined but she only stayed like a year. I've never met a person out in public life who mentioned the game or anything.


My friends come over and see me play on here and stare at the screen when I'm on tekek and must think weird things.

I don't really know anyone IRL who'd be into this kind of thing, they'd probably punch me in the nuts.

Weirdly, I've admitted to going on Neopets still and I'd admit that again over saying I go on here. Gaia is just sort of...weird and hard to explain to people.

I recently figured out that one of my childhood friends has a Gaia.
He seemed like the kind of person who had a Gaia, so I asked if he had one.
Sure enough he did, and we exchanged usernames.

I also figured out that another friend of mine has a Gaia.

Despite these, I have a hard time with people knowing who
I am on Gaia. I don't know why though.

I like to keep my Gaia stuff super separate from my real life. Though I have talked to a Gaian or two on the phone and such.

I mentioned it to some in laws once, and they rolled their eyes and did that knowing glance wankers do when they hate something and think it's ridiculous. So I didn't say I had an account because, you know what, people like that can never be won over.
