Like...you don't just abandon an audience completely because they are less in number. If you want more of them, you treat them right. If they only sell girly s*** they're going to have more girly users. It takes time.

In fairness, it also costs 100gc more than the spirit, has 100 more stock by default compared to the spirit, isn't a reference item from a series that will have people tripping over themselves, has a far more awkward scheme than "pink except slightly different yet again", and is aimed at a part of the userbase gaia has driven away, let's be honest.
I think around 350 sales isn't too bad by comparison.

But you're right in that it not being 100% sold out won't be enough, never mind that stuff like Marokuma (If I remember right, given that it's not something that gets logged.) came nowhere near selling out during the time of huge cash bonuses, yet we still get plenty of casual clothes and bears.

or perhaps boycotting GC purchases? I don't know. i've just seen a few threads of people being upset, and the response when the guardian spirit was released was similar. So i know that there are people still here that are advocates for the more masculine items, but the percentages is probably skewed dramatically.

I guess one of my points and why it is sad, is Gaia will see the numbers and continue to make only girly stuff. I'm also wearing girly things right now, but i have a male avi. i think a good mix is essential. (my current outfit was my personal challenge to use one of the color schemes i'm not a fan of... sorbet, opulsencent, breezy... there are more.)

no worries. these are really good points. and i agree with them. I think i got upset about the problem and posted before I really finished forming my ideas, but yeah.

I didn't know that the guardian spirit is a reference item. since i use a male avi, having items that give boobs, is great for cosplay, so i always buy those items. but yeah...

Sorry I started getting snippy, I just get so disappointed when people start talking downer stuff like that without thinking it through...Like don't discourage, encourage. Despite all the odds against it, it's going to sell out nearly/over halfway for their first attempt at this in a long time (and it's not a reference item).
There's certainly a large combination of factors. I'd hope some male base heavy users would jump at the chance for a direct buy, but as the GCD thread from the first day noted, there were a number of other issues:
-Some found the colors not "useful" enough (though that leads lately to everything being basically just offchrome and "boring" to other users) and are waiting for a recolor.
-Some think the price is still too high without bonuses. If they only liked a pose or two they'd rather wait for re-release than pay $10 for that item and maybe a rig pull or two.

I think if we saw this at 600gc instead of 800gc or even crazier...500gc so the lowest purchase amount guaranteed you'd get it, it'd move way more even without taking into account people not liking the color.

"???" is usually a sign of excitement and I didn't want to come across too harsh. Text is really hard to read, I thought you came across down on it, and I came across too harsh, so I wanted to cover my bases. I also bought one because not only hooray for a guy LQI, but I found the horns neat (though they didn't really mesh with the style of the OC I wanted to use them on in the end).

They haven't been doing that lately though, I don't think, if they do. I half remember them bringing back remaining stock all at once (idk if it was end of the month or some kind of holiday sale thing). It would be cool if they did since it lets them make more money and gives users an extra reason to check in at the end of the month.
