Welcome to Gaia! ::

I know that Tin Soldier song...

Not so long ago in a toy room not so far away,
Lived a boy, who had so many toys
And he didn’t know what to do with them all,
With them all, with them all.

Well his favorite of all the toys
Were the tin soldiers, the tin soldiers,
And the one that he loved the most,
Was the one with the missing leg.

At night the toys would come alive,
That’s how the story is told,
There they meet, the soldier with the missing leg,
And the ballerina with the heart of gold,
At night they would share each others dreams,
Under the stars shining bright,
But they were to shy to speak of love,
To speak of love

One day, the boy sat him on the window sill,
To watch for the enemy coming over the hill,
Ooh, but when the wind blew, and knocked him into the street,
The boys from the town they said,
Won’t you look at the one legged soldier!
Lets take him in our boat and send him far away,
’cause you can’t find a use for a soldier, with a missing leg!
And he was, lonely, so lonely, for a friend,
And he was lonely, so lonely, for a friend,
He was so lonely yeah,
As he floated past the river raft,
On his homemade boat

Well the boat began to sink,
And it sank to the bottom of the river,
It got swallowed by a fish, caught by a fisherman,
Sold to the filly and the boy who had the toys,
And the cook said, look at the one legged soldier,
It looks just like the one, we lost the other day!
Could this be the boy’s tin soldier,
With the missing leg?

But he was...lonely, so lonely, for a friend,
And he was lonely, so lonely, for a friend,
He was so lonely, yeah, oh yeah...
So lonely, oh yeah

Avery: what about the ballerina?

As he sat on the mantel place to dry from the river,
The ballerina who held his heart sat at his side
And when they got up...to dance with each other,
She fell by the fire, blazing bright!
When he jumped to save her, from the flames,
The bases began to melt into one and the same,
Now they share each others destiny,
Together forever, they will be!
And they are no longer lonely, for a friend,
And they are no longer lonely for a friend,
No longer lonely, yeah, no longer lonely,
Ooh yeah, oooohh, no longer lonely, yeah

Well, not so long ago, in a toy room not so far away,
Lived a boy who had so many toys,
And he played with them all,
With them all, with them all,
Well he had a ballerina, and one legged soldier,
Stuck together at the base,
And they share each others destiny,
As they sit on top of the mantel place,
It’s the story of the one legged soldier
The story of the one legged soldier
The story of the tin soldier with the missing leg!

If that's it, Hanson sings it, and they wrote it. I hope that helps! heart
this is mainly b/c i'm bored, but does anyone know why Shania Twain say something before all of her songs (i. e. "let's go, girls" from "I feel like a woman" or that long blurb about how "...I will love you with every beat of my heart" in "from this moment on" wink

When someone can explain that, be sure to include why Shania must put 6 zillion exclamation points after each song title she writes. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *pun* scream

Really hard folk songey one, possibly English, Im trying to find it for my mum cos she remembers someone once singing it for her. Very vague, but was something about a tin soldier who falls in love with a doll in a toyshop.

Dont really expect anyone to have heard it (no one on google seems to) but thought it was worth a shot.

This might not be it, but there is a song I know called "One Tin Soldier"

Listen children, to a story that was written long ago
'bout a kingdom on a mountian and the vally folk below.
On the mountian was a tresure burried deep beneith a stone
and the vally people swore they'd have it for their verry own

So go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowin', come the judgement day
on the bloody mornin' after one tin soldier rises away

So the people of the vally sent a message up the hill
asking for the burried treasure, tons of gold for witch they'd kill
Came a message from kingdom, "With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountian, allthe riches burried there"

So go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowin', come the judgement day
on the bloody mornin' after one tin soldier rises away

Now the vally cried in anger, "Mount your horses, draw your guns"
And they killed the mountian people, so they won their just reward
Now they stood beside the tresure, on the mountian, dark and red
turned the stone and looked beneith it peace on Earth was all it said

So go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowin', come the judgement day
on the bloody mornin' after one tin soldier rises away

that's it *bows out*

I know, I was just killing time.
Rosewings
I've been wondering about these for a while. There's too, and I'm afraid I recall very little of them both.

I don't know the name of the first one. It's about a little girl (or boy, but I think it's a girl eek ) hiding behind the couch, and something happens to her parents (?). The figure of Jesus on their wall falls behind the couch and she sleeps beside it... or something... @_@ Anyway that should be enough for you to recognize if you know it.

Number two I recall a bit of the lyrics of, and I'm sure the name is "She Said Yes" but I don't know the artist. The chorus (or part of it) goes:

She said 'yes,' I said 'Wow.'
I said 'When?' and she said 'How about right now?'
*something something something*
*perhaps another line, I dunno*
Then I asked if she believed in fate
And she said 'Yes'!

I really appreciate it and thanks in advance! heart
