Welcome to Phoenix Base, the headquarters of The Bloodhounds, a clan to be established in zOMG, as soon as zOMG itself is established. Until then, we wait here, train, discuss, roleplay, and generally prepare for the hunt.

The Bloodhounds are an organization of hunters, simply put. We are a mostly neutral/chaotic good organization that simply enjoys the thrill of the hunt. Most of the time this means hunting monsters and other evil, but occasionally we will hunt even neutral game if the chase is exciting and the bounty is plentiful. If you know of some good game, contact us, we would appreciate it. Using intelligence gathering techniques to locate our prey, who often use guises to attempt to escape, we slowly set traps, encircle, and finally strike out at the quarry when the time is right. No game escapes us, for we are Bloodhounds!

If you want to join, just send me a PM, tell me about yourself and why you want to join The Bloodhounds.

Announcements:

Well, we are up and running and beginning various recruitment initiatives.
Promotions and Battalions! With the Bloodhounds expanding quickly, we are now ready to have two full brigades, under the command of the Bloodhound Alpha. These will be added to the members list soon.
Meta-Announcements. Announcements will now be added every thursday, unless something terribly important happens. Please check them regularly!
Join our Roleplay! (http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/organization-military-based-guilds/the-bloodhounds-roleplay-pre-canis/t.42816415_76/)
A new battalion has been formed! Congratulations to Captain Wonton on his promotion.

- Obviously, follow Gaia ToS.
- Respect is very important to The Bloodhounds. This includes allies, non-members, enemies, and especially fellow Hounds.
- Please try to be somewhat literate. It is okay to make mistakes, but proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation are very nice. Try using Firefox, it has an excellent spell checker.
- Be intelligent.

Bloodhound Lord:

The leaders of the Bloodhounds. Commanded by the Bloodhound Alpha, who is chosen by a vote among the Lords, from the Lords themselves, when the previous Alpha steps down, or is forced out of their position by a vote of the rest of the Lords. Major decisions are finalized among the Lords. Once you become one, you always remain one, unless voted out by a vote of the other Lords. However, the lowest rank you can fall to is High Inquisitor, though if you betray the guild you may be marked as a Fallen High Inquisitor, with some, but not most, privileges of the rank.

High Inquisitor:

These legendary figures hunt the canniest, and most powerful quarry, taking but a week to complete hunts a lesser bloodhound might take a month to complete. In times of great peril, they lead great armies of elite bloodhounds into combat, destroying fell creatures of immense power. High Inquisitors are quite powerful in influencing organization policy, and they are those who the Bloodhound Lords are chosen from.

Commander:

In charge of multiple battalions of bloodhounds(known as a brigade), managing strategy and some basic organization policy.

Captain:

In charge of a battalion of bloodhounds. A general command rank, with little policy management or strategy issues, mostly just basic tactics. The first command rank.

Inquisitor:

The basic bloodhound rank, the lowest officially allowed to command a crew, though if no higher ranks are around, a brevet promotion is possible.

Journeyman:

A young bloodhound, who has completed their apprenticeship, but has not been assigned to a unit and needs to complete a few basic tasks before moving on.

Apprentice:

The lowest member rank. Will be paired up with a higher ranked Bloodhound, most likely a commander or inquisitor, but perhaps even a High Inquisitor or Bloodhound Lord, if the apprentice shows promise.

Initiate:

Not an actual member rank, just for those who are interested in joining, but have not yet been chosen by a mentor.

The way which one tracks and neutralizes their quarry is very important, especially when one is in a group. More styles will be added as people think of them, but the basic ones are:

Hunter:

Users of this style deal damage, and lots of it. Whether from a distance or in melee, they are focused on hurting the enemy, while hopefully not taking too many hits themselves.

Mage:

Not actually referring to those who use magic, among the Bloodhounds a mage is someone who causes area of effect damage, hurting many enemies at once.

Alchemist:

Always appreciated by the rest of a group, the alchemist focuses on healing and buffing their crew, and perhaps even debuffing the enemy.

Steelbreaker:

These Bloodhounds can take a hit. Also known as a "tank", the steelbreaker is ever thrust unto the breach, an immovable shield for the rest of the team.

Members are split into brigades, which are split into battalions. Battalions are the primary basis for who might be in a crew, though this is subject to change. Units are defined by the power of the individuals in them, and what the units are used for. (Intelligence gathering, straight up combat, etc.)

Relations with other Clans will be decided on a case by case basis. They may be allies we will fight to the death for, friends we hang out with, enemies we occasionally skirmish against, or foes we will work to destroy until even our last breath. Contact me by PM if you wish to enter some sort of relations with The Bloodhounds.

The Holy Order are allies, with particular emphasis on the Order of the Seeker.

The Wandering Clan

Relations with individuals are basically the same as with clans, but with one added type. Fallen Bloodhounds are those who were once part of the organization, but who left on bad terms. They are still Bloodhounds, but are to be treated with caution.

You may see bloodhounds using words that do not quite make sense. It is probably not just you, check this dictionary to see what everyone is actually talking about.

Aff:
Yes, especially as a response to quiaff.

Neg:
No, especially as a response to quiaff.

Quiaff:
Ends a sentence with a question, expects a "yes" answer.

Quineg:

Shiny:
Cool, awesome, fun.

Go'ram:
Replace the 'r with a d. Get the idea?
