I think my favourite way to shade is with teeny little dots. Which is fine for when I have much more time but for this event I need to go faster and teeny dots take forever!

Oh yeah, stippling is fun! I try to only stipple small areas though. It gets tiring fast. @_@;;

Okay... *sighs* explanation time for some of you.
Why have I been gone for a month +?

I've had quite a bit going on from dental to medical appointments. So, my drive for art
has been practically non-existent.

At the beginning of the year I had a dental appointment. I had two cavities filled but my
wisdom tooth was left alone. Apparently, the food trap between my molar and wisdom
tooth was worse than expected and caused decay. It was in a location that if I got a
filling I'd be in constant pain since it would have been on top of a nerve. Two Fridays
ago I had a root canal. I had them knock my butt out as I didn't want to be awake for
it. I wanted to keep the tooth rather than pull it. I use it a lot. Right now, it fills like a
crater with sharp edges...

I had a dental appointment set up last Thursday for a crown for the wisdom tooth,
unfortunately, I came down with the flu (Thank you dear husband by not telling me you
had flu symptoms and passed it on to me...). I had to take 4 days off of work last week
because of the terrible state I was in. The crown was cancelled... I still have a few
minor symptoms, but my lungs are clearing up and I'm getting my voice back. Though
getting light headed after a coughing fit is still a thing...

I can't recall if I mentioned in the past any of the problems I've been having. Such
as severe pains in my abdomen around my liver. Come to find out, after an appointment,
which led to an ultrasound, I have gall stones. The largest was 2.2 cm in diameter (just
under an inch). I'm getting surgery to have the whole gall bladder removed.

I also had my yearly exam in December, which led to a referral to a specialist
for something I've wanted for many, MANY years. A Tubal Ligation. I'm having my
Fallopian tubes COMPLETELY removed. From ovaries to uterus. YES! That means
no babies for me EVER in the future. HUZZAH! And apparently it GREATLY reduces
my risk for ovarian cancer as it starts in the Fallopian tubes. So... I'm getting surgery.

Both will be laparoscopic surgeries (small incisions in the abdomen that will be sewn
back up with internal stitches the body will reabsorb and surgical glue used on the
outside to seal the wounds). Since I'll be having both surgeries done at the same
time (both doctor's clinics are next door to each other and they've done this before), I'll
have up to 8 incisions. It'll take up to two weeks to heal from both of them, but I'm ready.
Oh, did I mention this happens Monday? The 24th? Yep! I'll be at the hospital at 5 am
for a surgery that takes place at 7:30 am. After everything is said and done and I'm
awake and well, I'll be able to go straight home. I'm ready for this to be done.

So yeah. That's what's been up with me. I did manage to do a page of ink/watercolor
doodles during the past month, but that was it. HUZZAH!


TLDR: No art for a month because of a root canal, flu, and two upcoming surgeries
on Monday...

I'd seriously been wondering about you! :c Glad to know you're still alive, yikes, what a horrible month that sounds like.
Good luck with the surgeries, I'd definitely rather have them do both at once like that. I hope the recovery is quick and smooth! Man I don't know what else to say, but I'm just glad to know you're still alive. crying

Yeah, it'll save on anesthesia and OR costs. Two for the price of one. And my Tubal is
completely paid for through insurance. Huzzah! Healing will take up to 2 weeks, so I've
already got that time off from work. Week 1 will be terrible so I have my drugs ready to
go. Week 2 should be a lot better. Once that's behind me, I'll try to spend more time
arting.

Don't push yourself on the art -- health always comes first. If you aren't feeling much better by week 2, keep resting~ heart
Sounds like the tubal is completely voluntary? If so, that's one light in the darkness, yes? Heheh

The benefit is knowing that it can be used as a cancer preventative measure.
At least you know it's a thing and an option.

I must say it is very weird being called girl @.@ though I am female this character is male and calling karma girl is certainly messing with my mind.
Most of my plans are today. I have a lunch date, and a dinner date. I have a guy trying to invite me to plans on Saturday but I will probably say no. I’ve been bowing out of weekend plans like a crazy person.
