12.11.05 - In an attempt to get the word out a bit more, I have changed the advertising prize. While it is initially lower than previously, you stand more of a chance of winning more than the previous prize if you refer enough people. Since only three people have been referred through the advertising, I thought, perhaps, the opportunity to win a bigger prize will give you all more incentive to try.

Rules and Other Information:
Because Heth is a stickler for following things to the letter.

1. All entries must be labeled with the following:

[b]Artist[/b]: (Your Gaia username, real name or pen name is optional, but you MUST atleast provide your Gaia username.)
[b]Entry[/b]: (link or image of said entry goes here. If you have a title for your picture, it can go here too. I request that you also put your name in the file name so I don't forget to do it myself.)
[b]Medium[/b][i](optional)[/i]: (What kind of supplies you used to make the picture. Pencils/markers/CG/etc)
[b]Referal[/b][i](optional)[/i]: (Who referred you here,whether by signature pic,banner in their shop, or word of mouth. Remember, every ONE person {not entry} gets to refer another so help out your friends!)

2. All Entries must be PG-13:I plan on using your entries around Gaia, especially in my signature. I therefore do not accept any entries that are not PG-13, not even through PM's or emails. Don't waste the effort.
3a. No Art Theft: Seriously. If I find out I will kill you. All your entries will be removed from the contest, and you will be barred from re-entering.
3b.This includes direct refference copying/eyeballing Click here to see what constitutes copying.
4.No entering previously commissioned art: I will accept entries from artists I have previously commissioned, but not the picture I commissioned from them.
5. All entries must be in by end date: Seriously guys, you have four months. If you can't get your s**t together in four months, I have no sympathy for you.
6. All entries become property of me: Once you send the entry, I keeeeep et. I may still use it regardless of whether or not it wins. Be advised of that when you enter. This does not mean I will claim it as my art. I would never do such a thing. This also does not mean I expect you not to use it as a sample (or in a banner, or any silly thing like that). However, it does mean they will be subject to resizing and such from my end.
7. Be nice to the other artists: If I catch you being a dickwad to the other artists or contestants, your entry will be thrown out regardless of how good it is.
8. Every catagory must have the proper ammount of entries in order for the prize to be handed out. This means that at, by the end of the contest, if some subcatagories do not have three entries, the prize for that subcatagory may not be handed out. There must be atleast 50 contest entries for each of the main catagories (Couple,Castore,and Heth) for me to give out the main prizes( 1st,2nd,and 3rd). All secondary catagories must have 5 acceptable entries in order to properly judge (I and the judges will deem what is acceptable).

Other Info

Is there an entry fee? Nope, it's completely free to enter. I would definately not charge you to draw something for me. Only crazies do that.
Can I win even if I don't have anime/manga style? I promise nothing, but generally I don't care what style you use, I like all art.
Can I enter a sketch/non coloured picture? All forms of drawn art are allowed.
Does picture size matter? Yes and no. I do not care what size your picture is (as if it's too big i'll just resize it) but if a picture is scanned too tiny to make out the details this may hurt you in the long run, as if we can't see the picture very well we may not be able to give it the judgement it deserves. If your picture causes H-Scroll, I humbly request you url link it and not IMG link it.
Are collaborations allowed? Yes, but make sure to put both names on the entry form, and divving up the prize loot is on you and your buddy, not me.
Can I enter multiple times? Yes. Every entry can win a seperate prize, but one entry can only win one prize. You do not need to catagorize your entry, I will do that for you, but if there's a particular prize you want to shoot for, feel free to draw an entry aimed for that prize.
Can I enter a story? No. Sorry, but i'm really not interested in receiving written works. I trust that very few people could get my characters proper without knowing lots and lots more information on them than what is held in the subject area.
What kind of things can I enter?: You may submit original (either with photoshop, or natural materials) artwork of my characters. I am not looking for any of the following: Pixel Dolls,Avartar edits,stories,banners (unless you just wanna make me one to be nice) or photography or Photomanips (Unless the photograph is of something you made out of physical materials, such as a doll.)
Can I enter a pixel doll/Avatar edit? See last question.
Can I draw original characters? No, you may only draw my characters if you plan on entering them in this contest. To get more information on my characters, click on the provided pictures in the "subject" area.
Can I draw original costumes on your characters? Yes, you may. Infact, there's a whole prize for just those types of pictures. I do request however that you read your subject information before you go dressing them up. There are guidelines held within the subject dossiers related to what kind of thing they would wear.

Originals Clothes guidelines and other clothing notes: Always wears glasses and a locket tied to a black ribbon choker, given to her by Heth. Usually wears gloves to keep her hands covered (as not to risk harming unholy programs) when in public settings. Almost always has a cigarette either lit and nearby, in her mouth, or in her hand. Prefers the colours white, black, or blue. Castore dresses in low back shirts (to allow use of her wings at a moments notice) but is (generally) fairly conversatively dressed. Some sexiness in clothing is more than allowed, but skankiness (Thongs sticking out of pants anyone?) would break the character's image. Castore also doesn't wear skirts often,and when she does, they are generally atleast past her knees.
Appearance: A fairly average looking woman, She has no overly remarkable features. This may be so that she does not stand out on either end of the spectrum. Physically, she's slightly more bottom heavy than top. Exact measurements would be 34(B cup)-28-42 if that helps give you an idea. Castore has a tattoo on either shoulder-blade no more than three inches high and five wide. They are shaped like very small cherebic wings. These tattoos are a physical representation of what lies beneath the surface. When using her abilities (on anyone but Heth), Castore must activate a small portion of code to force her wings out. This happens by the skin near the tattoos twisting and stretching about into a new formation (Much like when an Agent takes over a human being in the film.) Her actual wings are no more than double the size of her tattoos (10 wide/long x6 in height at the most). When not in use, these wings convert back to their tattoo form, to keep them safe from someone who would want to remove them (out of the age old story that removing an Angels wings weakens them into human beings.) As an interesting side note, Castore is asexual. Castore has a wide variety of emotions and expressions all of which are genuine, though her most notable is her grin, which is somewhat childish and very catlike.
Personality:Well-versed, but blunt. Lacks self confidence, but is pleasant most of the time. Swears alot, smokes like a chimney. Doesn't like to admit her dependancy upon Heth. Bathes far more than necessary and is obsessed with personal hygiene, especially smelling nice. Enjoys sweets but doesn't get to have them often because Heth won't allow it.

Originals Clothes guidelines and other clothing notes:Heth is particularly picky about his image. He generally ONLY wears his "usual outfits"; he's not into casual dress or shopping. However, if you really want to do a picture that has nothing to do with any of the outfits linked above, keep these guidelines in mind: Heth always wears his hair parted on the left and combed back, and always wears 'formal' attire such as suits. The lowest on scale Heth would go is "semi-casual" (no Modern or cyber goth/rave/plaid/etc! Classic gothic {Suits,top hats, canes ETC} acceptable.)
Appearance: Heth looks similar to Castore, though his features are much more masculine than hers are. After his rather unusual height, people tend to notice three other things about him: His nose, weight, and stare. Heth's nose is quite beakish (click for example). Heth is quite thin which is unusual for an ex-agent program. Heth has light to no muscle tone, which is probably for the better as if he did he would likely look like a walking skeleton. His fingers are quite spindly, and his legs gangly, with knobby knees. Heth has a very distinctive look about his eyes. He rarely smiles (reserving the use of such for only Castore and a selective few),preferring to keep his expression blank when he is 'relaxed'. His eyes give people the feeling that hes staring through them, and not at them, as if he looking for something on or in their personage, which proves to creep more than just a few people out. Heth has very deep set/aged eyes, which cause him to have light wrinkling between his nose and eyes shown here. Heth is also asexual. Because of his lack of overly expressive emotions, Heth often wears these expressions: Blank face (most common), A look of disdain or boredom(second), A frown (third most common), A sly smirk (he knows what you don't want him to. ), A false polite smile, or a very charismatic grin (when hes using his powers of persuasion.Think:Ewan McGregor)
Personality:Intelligent, but naive, aloof, slighty sarcastic. Appears confident but is easy to panic under stress. Longs for acceptance of peers but refuses to become dependant. Meticulous about his grooming habits. Occasionally smokes a pipe ( click here for example ) or cigarettes. Keeps a pet rat named Lovelace whom he adores.Lovelace has one black eye and one red.

Notes for those doing couples pictures
Relationship between the Heths: Castore and Heth's relationship can best be described as "love/hate". Heth and Castore are a duality program, or two peices/programs designed to counterbalance one another. While they have many similar traits, they also have many opposite ones that grate on each others nerves. They are not prone to public displays of affection, and it is not readily apparent to an outside viewer that they are anything more than friends. They often bicker like an old married couple. Mentally, Heth has placed Castore on a pedestal (unwillingly on her part) and refers to her as his "mistress", the old term for the female head of a household. He often does things that irritate her 'for her own good'. Sometimes he just irritates her to amuse himself.

Romantically, their relationship is best described as "storge love" (friendship that developed into love). Due to this, it is out of character for them to be pawing at one another like cats in heat, and it is best to take a 'sweeter' approuch method if you decide to draw an image which displays them in a romantic situation. Heth acts very much like a shy little boy who's got his first crush around Castore. Castore, being similarly shy, is not overtly sexual or blantent in her flirtations.

Darkest: Most sinister or angstiest. This prize only applies to Heth.
Most Dynamic (Best Action): Most action oriented, can also be thought of as 'coolest pose'. This prize only applies to Heth.
Cutest: Most adorable. Do not confuse with "Chibi". Things can be cute without being 1/3 the size. This prize only applies to Castore.
Best Costumes/Original Outfits: Best costumes or original outfits, within the guidelines given for Heth and Castore. This prize only applies to Couples and Castore alone.
Most Romantic: Sweetest and/or sexiest couple picture. Once again, no dirty stuff. This prize only applies to Couples.
Funniest: The one that makes us laugh the hardest. "Just wrong" humour can apply provided it's PG-13. This prize only applies to Couples.

Suggestions/Challenges
Because people like them...for some reason....

Challenge 1 - Wanted posters: Such as is issued by the FBI.Could also be a couples picture, with the posters side by side one another. Here are mock ups to give you an idea: Heth,Castore. Don't use the template I used, as thats just lazy.
Challenge 2 - Sleepy time/underpants: Heth and Castore in their underpants, either in the comfort of their own room (Shoji screen walls, tatami matting) on their futon (floor mattress, ala Japanese bedding style) probably getting ready to sleep, or already asleep, or just waking up (As thats the only time their in just their undergarments).Heth and Castore have very similar undergarments. Heth wears a white a-shirt (what is uncoothly known as a 'wife-beater') and black boxers. Castore wears a womens white a-shirt (cut higher under the arms so your boobs don't fall out, and thicker material so you can't see through it), and a fairly new style of underpants, womens boxer briefs, which are also black. As a note, if you draw them already asleep/waking up, Castore tends to always lay ONTOP of Heth or in some position that prevents him from getting up while shes asleep.
Challenge 3 - Child Castore and Dollie Heth: When Castore was a 'child', she created a doll of Heth to play with, since the real Heth was not interested in such things. She did not tell Heth of this doll (though he knew anyways as she later found out). Pictures of a child version Castore playing with, cradling, or otherwise holding her Heth doll. Castore's outfit can be original (more kiddish would be awesome), but it must be white. Dollie Heth must be in his full suit, with shades.
Challenge 4 - Heth and his baby (Lovelace): Heth has a very unusual bond with his pet rat, Lovelace (prefaced in the 'relationships section of his dossier), whom is probably the only living being he can claim to love short of Castore herself, and he is much more open about his affiinity with the rodent. Heth has let Lovelace do some very unusual things that he probably wouldn't tolerate from anyone elses pets, such as sit on his face and eat right at the dinner table (sitting on it). Show us the Heth/Lovelace lurve.

Advertising Contest
The rules are simple: Add one of these banners to your signature, then post as you normally would. Every person who enters will have the option to list who referred them to this thread. For every ONE person that says you refered them, you will get a point. The most points at the end of the contest wins. You may also put a banner in your shop links, and for every person that is referred from that, you will get one point. REMEMBER: Preface to the people clicking the banner to use YOUR name as the referral, not your shops name, otherwise I won't know who I am giving a point to. If you are in a shop with multiple people, only ONE of you will get the credit.
