Book of Shadows-Part Five: Magical Creatures S-Z
NOTE: A Book of Shadows is a book that witch's and wizards make that tells all about different magical creatures and demons, and has spells in it. It is passed on from generation to generation, and this is what Trip has written in his so far. This is a list of the many creatures that Trip has seen, or heard about.
NOTE: Here is a list of what the colors mean:
Green is for the civil and intelligent, Human-Like beings
Red is for the Beasts
Blue is for the Normal Creatures and/or the shapeshifters.
Satyr: A creature that originatet in Rome, a Satyr has the torso, arms, and head of a human, and the tail and feet of a goat. They are a lot like Fuans, but they are less social, and have longer horns on the top of their heads. They inhabit forests and mountains, and are usually found playing music in a quiet medow.
Sea Serpent: A Sea Serpent is exactly what its name says, a Serpent that inhabits the sea. They can be many colors, but they are very large when full grown, and have sharp teeth. They are very hostile, and are hard to tame so it is not reccomended.
Seer: A Seer is a person (usually a woman) who is very much like an Oracle in that they can use items to see into the future. The difference is that Oracles only use the items as aids, but Seers rely mostly on the items, and only one out of every thousand Seers can just get visions. The rest rely greatly on the items they charm.
Shaman: A Shaman is a spiritual being that is all about the spirit world, and the mind. They can project themselves as spirit animals, and make potions and ancient remmedies to help people with their problems. They believe in equality and have powers over different wordly things.
Siren: A Siren is a Greek menace that would sing songs to sailors and lure them into the sharp cliffs to die. They appear as birds with the head and chest of a woman, but could change to beautiful women for the sailors.
Sorcerer: A Sorcerer is a man who has magic abilities and can make potions and charm, or hex items to do different things. They cannot write spells, but they can sometimes see into the future, and do different things with staffs, or wands that most carry around.
Sorceress: A Sorceress is just like a Sorcerer, but is a female. They wear brighter colors, and usually carry staffs and different sands and dusts to do different things. They sometimes are stronger because the fact that girls mature faster than boys, and get their powers sooner, so have had longer with their powers.
Spectre: A Spectre is much like and Undead in that it is a dead creature that walks the Earth. The main difference is that Spectres can change their form to animals or other people for a certain amount of time. They are murderous creatures, and will stop at nothing to reach their goal (if they even have one).
Sphynx: A Shpynx is a bad luck bringing creature with the body, arms, and legs of a lion, a snake for a tail, and a woman's head. They tell riddles to determine you're wellbeing. They used to guard pyramids or temples, and whenever someone came to enter whom she didn't recognize, she'd tell them a riddle, and if they get it right, they pass, but if the get it wrong, she ate them.
Sprite: A Sprite is like a Fairy. They have colorful wings, and are majestic creatures. The bid difference is the Sprites can be all different sizes. Granted, they can't be gigantic, but they can get to the size of a short human adult, or just the size of the average 12 year old.
Succubus: A Succubus is a female creature that can appear as a beautiful woman to trick men into falling in love with them. After she gains their trust, or lures them into a false sense of security, she suck out their soul in order to stay alive. Her true form is that of a hideous beast.
Thestral: A Thestral is a scary creature, and is sometimes considered a bad omen. They are only visible to those who have witnessed a death, and if you can see them, then you would know that they look like a horses skeleton with bony bat-like wings. They do have a tail, and a main of hair, but besides that, they are just bone with remnants of flesh hanging from them.
Troll: Trolls are large, almost human-like creatures with very bad tempers. They are not able to stay out of their caves when the sun comes out or else they turn to stone. This means that they only come out at night. They won't hesitate to eat a human or anything else that has meat that walks by their path.
Undead: An Undead is a dead person that walks the Earth. The are usually very gruesome becuase they have died, and decayed before they got their false lives. They are usually given life by evil magic, and are not able to be killed since they are already dead. The only way to get rid of them is to bury them in the ground that they were buried in originally.
Unicorn: A Unicorn is a magical, elegant creature that appears as a white horse with a horn on their head. They are very brave, and even have blood that will heal wounds. The twist to this is that if you kill a Unicorn, and drink its blood then you are cursed for the rest of your life. Their usually spiral horn are a source of pure magic.
Vampire: A Vampire is a creature that appears as a human, but has razor sharp canine teeth that they use to drink the blood of people. They do have the ability to turn into bats, and can turn other people into Vampires by drinking their blood, and then making their victim drink their blood.
Veela: A Veela is a creature that has a true form of a mutant bird-like creature, but usually are in the form of a beautiful woman. They sing a song that draws men to them. Some are evil, and use this to kill them, but some just use it to get attention, which they love. They have the ability to also control the weather.
Witch: A Witch is a man or woman that has many magic powers. The strongest of Witches have active powers, or powers that aren't the basic powers that all Witch's have. These basic powers are the abilities to make potions, say spell, and scrying.
Werewolf: A Werewolf is a human that turns into a wolf-human cross breed creature on the night of the full moon. The only thing that can draw them off is the call of another werewolf. They are vicious, and will attack humans, even if they are their best friends. They usually don't attack animals unless provoked. They can turn humans into werewolves by biting them, but this has no effect on animals, only humans.
Wizard: A Wizard is a human who is much like a witch, accept that they are more prone to be men, and use wands or staffs to bring out their magic, unlike witches.
Worlock: A Worlock is much like a Witch in that they have active powers, and can scry, make potions, and say spells, but Worlocks are evil. They are like Wizards in the they sometimes use items to bring out their powers.
Wraith: A Wraith is much like a Ghost. It comes back from the dead, and eith wreak havoc or try to finish an unfinished deed of theirs. The big difference is that Wraiths look much more decayed and scary.
