EDDIE: SEX FOR ME IS TOO EASY; Formula One's playboy reveals he's lost count of his conquests.
HE is Formula One's greatest living playboy ... but EddieIrvine is bored of being handed sex on a plate.

It may be the average male's idea of heaven, but Eddie claims
finding love is not "challenging" enough.

Jaguar team driver Irvine, who split with stunning Dutch model
Anouk this week, is now on the lookout for a new model.

But he claimed: "Sex is too easy. It's an easy way to
have fun, isn't it? It's not massively challenging."

Irvine, 35, was smitten with Anouk, 25, when they met on a blind
date and he moved her on to his pounds 2million luxury yacht, The
Anaconda.

But she left last week after their year-long affair "for no
particular reason" and Eddie's emotional response was:
"It was quite weird to see her leave with all her bags."

Irvine is confident some gorgeous supermodel out there will be
willing to take her place.

Sunning himself on his 50ft yacht in Cannes this week before
tomorrow's European Grand Prix, he boasted: "I had one girl
the other night in Milan come up to me and say: 'Are you coming
home with me or are you going home with big boobs over there?'

"And I said 'neither'."

Eddie admitted he has no idea how many women he's slept with,
but insists he is too discerning to pick up a passing girl "unless
she is exceptionally good looking, of course".

But what's "exceptional" to a man who dismissed
supermodel Claudia Schiffer as being as "fat as a pig"?

His favourite woman at the moment is Kim Smith, the new Guessmodel, but he hasn't yet asked her out on a date.

And he laughed: "Even if you're with the most beautiful
girl in the world, the one across the table looks better - and the next
one better still."

And he joked: "Where does it all end? Usually in tears."

Eddie added: "Women are an important part of my life. I love
their company. But I'm independent - I just have a good time."

The multi-millionaire, who has homes in Monaco, Milan and Dublin
and a collection of Ferraris, as well as his own helicopter and private
jet, also reckons a sense of humour is important in a woman.

He said: "If I can't have a giggle with some girl, I
won't bother. I know it's immature, but I don't want to
be mature.

"I'm quite happy floating around enjoying myself. If
being immature means enjoying yourself, then great."

The star, who signed up to Jaguar's team for pounds 20
million, has been linked to a bevy of beauties, including supermodels
Kate Moss and Karen Mulder and pop queen Kylie Minogue.

But his recent revelation that he had a fling with Irish model
Yvonne Connolly before she married Ronan Keating didn't go down too
well with the Boyzone star.

Eddie denies Ronan gave him an earful following his indiscretion,
saying: "I've no idea if it created ill- feeling. I
haven't spoken to either of them in ages."

Irvine, who loves to relax by sunbathing on the deck of his yacht,
was born near Bangor, Co. Down.

Living up to his nickname of 'Fast Eddie', he is as famed
for his partying and womanising as much as for his driving abilities.
Tomorrow night, after the European Formula One Grand Prix from the
Nurburgring in Nuremburg, he'll unwind with vodka and Red Bull.

He said: "On Sunday night after a Grand Prix, there's
nothing like it. You're really tired and stressed after a whole
weekend. It's the only thing that gets you going."

But it is the groupie scene that has led him to more scrapes than
on the world's most demanding race circuits.

It may have been his rather blase attitude to women that led to the
split with his Scots lover Maria Drummond, the mother of his
four-year-old daughter Zoe.

He stayed with Maria for six years and dotes on Zoe. Next to his
daughter, motor racing is his greatest love.

He was inspired to take up racing driving by his father, who owneda small garage and dabbled in the sport.

Irvine said: "I never dreamed of being a Formula One driver. I
dreamed of being a Formula One mechanic. I remember asking the careers
officer in school: 'How do you become a Formula One mechanic?'

"That was what I aimed for."

He worked his way through the ranks of Formula Ford and Formula
Three, before getting his break with the Jordan Grand Prix team.

He then joined Ferrari in 1996, but soon became tired of driving in
the shadow of Ferrari's No 1 driver, Michael Schumacher .

When Schumacher broke his leg at the British Grand Prix last
season, Irvine finally got the chance to shine, narrowly failing to win
the World Drivers' Championship.

Irvine is so ambitious that he confesses he wasn't exactly
disappointed when he heard about his rival's injury.

He said: "It was a fantastic opportunity for me.

"It got me the chance to be able to win more races, it got me
the chance to be able to go for the championship.

"But that happened in the careers of many drivers. You take
the chance and it makes you or breaks you."

He has few fears about the dangers he faces when he gets behind the
wheel tomorrow.

He said: "You've just got to ignore it the possibility of
accidents and hope it doesn't happen."

And, fuelling his controversial views on women, he added:
"Women have fewer accidents, but I think men are better
drivers."

Well, of course he does.
