Takeing a Perfect Shot
In soccer, there are three aspects that include shooting, dribbling and passing. Some people are good at passing and dribbling but they are not perfect in shooting. This is because they are acquainted with the ‘how to take a perfect shot in soccer’ skills’. The simple steps that can results into a perfect shot include the following.

Position yourself right in front of the ball and when you shoot, make sure you pull your leg back enough. Observe the position of the goalkeeper. Has he left a gap that you can exploit? Choose the best technique for the shot. A side-foot shot has a greater accuracy while an instep (laces) shot with good follow-through has a greater power. Put the non-kicking foot alongside the soccer ball. Keep your eyes on the ball and the head down when striking.Body should be kept over the ball. Make contact from top half to the middle of the ball. Maintain your composure. Land the kicking foot to its initial place.

Some of the guidelines that can be used to improve the chances of scoring are:

Shoot Wide

It is better to shoot wide rather than high. This is because there is a higher chance of getting a deflection from the wrong foot of the goalkeeper leading to a goal.

Shoot Low

Shoot low since it is harder for the goalkeeper to reach shots along the ground. This is so, because it is further for him to travel. It is easy for goalkeeper to jump up and save high shots.

Shoot Across

Shoot across the goalkeeper since it is harder for him to hold the shot. This would also lead to the diversion of the ball back into the path of your teammate (another attacker).

Things to Remember

As with the above shooting techniques, you need to be practicing them frequently in practice sessions and games, in order to improve your shooting. Fortunately, these shooting techniques are similar to those used for passing. Therefore, you can build up two techniques at the same time.

In order to increase the chances of scoring you are required to shoot whenever you see the goal. This is to say that, soccer players miss 100% of the shots that they never took. Good players would shoot whenever they see an opportunity.
