Hunter of all Enchanted things.
Name: Petra Focalor

Appearance: Petra

Race: Human

Age: 33-39

Gender: Male

Skills: Appraisal - Despite not having access to magic, Petra seems quite skilled in identifying and recognizing the properties of magic items. He can accurately get an idea for what the effect is, though more complex enchantments require more examination time.

Survivalist - Living on his own with Pheobe and constantly travelling, Petra has developed keen survival skills to let him endure nearly any environment.

Jack of All Trades - Petra prides himself on knowing a little to moderate amount of a wide number of topics, giving him a sort of uncanny flexibility to mix and mash most of what he knows into the peculiar style he has developed.

Weaponry of Choice: Uses any sort of tool one would find in a dig site or mountain climbers backpack. Hooks, foot spikes, ropes, pickaxe. He tends to use pitons as though they were small daggers.

Has a pet phoenix that has no problem fighting beside him as well. It appears to have the name of Pheobe.

=============================================

Max Potential below. Always starts an RP with only Fernya + One Other
Magic: Doesn't use magic. Instead, relies on a variety of enchanted artifacts.

Major Artifacts: Taking on the appearance of common, every day items, these artifacts boast impressive power, but equally impressive consequences for their use. All of the Major Artifacts cannot be used with one another (save with the Fernya artifact, for it's power is not controlled like the rest.). If Petra attempts to use multiple artifacts while currently empowered by another, he will find that they do nothing, as their magics seem to counter-act each other.
(In short: The max amount of Major Artifacts that coul be active at any time is two: Fernya + Another. Attempting to add anymore removes the effects of the one that was attempted to be mixed in)

A Major Artifact is defined as the following - A *relatively* Large artifact compared to the charms that takes on the shape and form of ordinary items to seem unsuspecting. These objects alter how the world around Petra interacts with him when activated, but the drawback to using their power falls squarely on Petra's shoulders, rather than on the world.

Hilang Batu: Takes on the appearance of a small sun dial made of stone. Hangs from a brooch that is tied around his right wrist.

Power: Invisibility. Effects - For up to one hour, depending on how far one spins the centerpiece of the sun dial, Petra can turn invisible. During its duration he cannot be seen.

Drawbacks: While under effects of this artifact, Petra moves slower depending on how long the duration of the invisibility is.

=============================================

Fernya: Takes on the appearance of a hand mirror. Is often hidden beneath an article of Petra's clothing.

Power: Copycat. Effects - The first spell of an offensive type directed at Petra blesses him with the ability to use that spell as well as weaker spells of the same element, alignment, and purpose of effect. This Copycat earned magic can be used for nine hours.

Drawback: Upon the end of the nine hours, he promptly loses all magic he may have known due to the Copycat. As well, it is possible to intentionally force him to copy a low powered spell to render this artifact useless, assuming the opposition to Petra is aware of Fernya's presence.

Unintended Draw Back: Spells chosen to be copied seem to be attracted to the Mirror, causing the strongest of the spell's assault to be focused on it.

=============================================

Gurvan: Takes on the appearance of a necklace with three medallions attached to it, each one in the shape of what may be a religious sigil of some sort. Unique in that it has three seperate powers with a drawback for each seperate sigil. The sigils have been named as Such -
Temdeg Ehkleed, Temdeg Daraani, and Temdeg Suuld. Ehkleed is shaped like an Ankh, silver in color with small slivers of red flowing throughout. Daraani is shaped to represent a vine wrapped pillar, silver in color for the pillar with the vines an odd brown tone. Suuld is shaped like some sort of staff, a dark black in color with no secondary to support it.

Power:
Temdeg Ehkleed - The first of the three amulet fragments. When chosen as the power of choice, a beam of light erupts from the ground in front of the wielder, blinding and burning any whom are caught in its path.
Temdeg Daraani - Two stones erupt from the ground and circle Petra before shattering into pieces, flinging the debris in front of him in an arc fashion.
Temdeg Suuld - Obtains the unique power to alter the momentum and force of any object in motion. Often uses it to throw incoming assailants to the ground with all the force they ran towards him with. Though rarely fatal, it does tend to stun or disorient long enough for a more permanent defense.

Drawback: Depending on which assaulting effect is produced, Petra will lose one of the following senses for a time period:
Ehkleed - For five hours, Petra is left without the ability to see.
Daraani - For six hours, Petra is left unable to hear anything from any source, mental or verbal.
Suuld - For six hours, Petra is left without the ability to feel anything touching him or around him.

The seperate sigils cannot be activated within quick succession, and seem to have an almost shared recharge time, preventing them from being used in rapid succession.

==============================================

Tuhonoa Naga: Takes on the appearance of a gauntlet.

Power: Fusion - allows temporary fusion with Pheobe, blessing Petra with a fiery aura and wings, as well as all the powers associated with the Phoenix whether they be Supportive, Restorative, or Offensive. The more of his power he uses, the less time he can stay in this presence.

Drawback: Blacks out after use, Pheobe is often physically damaged in the process and thus needs to be tended to as well. After waking up, Petra is very vulnerable to burns and sensitive to heat. This Drawback overwrites the immunity of Charm of Heat.

=============================================

Branit: Takes on the appearance of a Diamond Ring, strung around the brooch with the sun dial Hilang.

Power: Unbreakable - Produces a bubble that prevents anything from getting too close to Petra. While in this bubble, Petra is immobile and unable to fight back by any means. However, the barrier seems to burden the force of all manner of assaults and attacks thrown at it, though it does have a limit. Should the barrier be broken before its time, the magical fragments shatter and release a wave of energy that forces nearby opponents of Petra to the ground.

Drawback: Regardless of how the Barrier is broken, Petra feels as though he is made of glass afterwards - He is more likely to suffer injuries, and injuries suffered are more likely to be severe.

=============================================

Max Potential below. Always starts an RP with only Charm of the Wilds

Minor Artifacts: Strung into a charm bracelet that hangs from his left wrist, Petra can quickly switch between his minor artifacts on a moment's notice. While they do not provide the same level or caliber of effects as the Majors, they can still provide some amount of indirect benefits with an equal cost of impairment. Though he rarely has more than one charm active, Petra believes that the most of the Charm's magic his body could handle would be the magic from three of them at once. Any more would risk, as he puts it, "Serious consequences to life and limb, ones I'd rather not risk."

The Minor Artifacts can be defined as thus: A small, finger sized piece of stone or smaller with some form of engraving. These Artifacts differ from Majors in that they focus on Petra and Petra alone. How Petra interacts with the outside world in the blessing as well as the Drawback.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's supposed to be 2 more minor charms. However, I cannot think of anything for now and rather than clutter the journal page with emptiness To Be Filled In type stuffs, I'm going ahead and removing them for now,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Charm of the Wilds: A small, rectangular piece of stone with an engraving of a human next to what appears to bef some sort of large cat.

Power: Empowers Petra with the unique ability to understand and communicate with any beast of any aerial or land-bound origins. Petra can also convince them to aid his fight for a time frame.

Drawback: While the Charm of the Wilds is active, Petra cannot understand humanoids or speak to them.

=============================================

Charm of the Resistant: A small, rectangular piece of stone with an engraving of a snake.

Power: Empowers Petra with a powerful resistance to poisons and toxins derived from plants and animals.

Drawback: His immune system becomes weak to other sources, leaving him susceptible to other diseases or illnesses for some time. This debilitation has been known to linger for days after the charm has been de-activated.

=============================================

Charm of Heat: A small, rectangular piece of stone with an engraving of a sun and moon.

Power: Doesn't feel heat or chill from any of the sources.

Drawback: Despite unfeeling, still affected. This tends to leave him likely to suffer horrible burns as he doesn't feel the fire burning his skin or the cold clinging to his skin.

Bio: Several years younger than Taravo, Petra had always lived in his shadow, or so he thought. When he witnessed the Event that would forever divide the family - the disownment of his own brother, Petra felt compelled to follow him.

And follow him he would. For many years, the two would travel together. However, his brother Taravo became bitter and angry, a particularly bad day spurred a shouting match between them. Bitter words were spat, and ultimately Petra abandoned Taravo. He headed for a port city and fled the land, and all by the age of fifteen.

He doesn't remember much of what happened next. A book known as the Tabula Rasa seemed to strike him with a sort of amnesiatic photographic memory - before the book, fog. But after it - absolute clarity. He became a renowned treasure hunter and seeker of shiny things and artifacts, finding the power of such tools more useful and interesting than simple swordplay or magic weaving. As a result, his collection is mostly of enchanted artifacts that can be used in a fight. Picking up many foreign languages and phrases that he weaves into his commentary, Petra stumbled upon a fortune teller and, in amusement, decided to hear what she saw for him.

While most of it was what he had predicted - Potential fortune on the horizon, how recklessness led to an early grave, there was one thing that stood out - That he was half a shadow, and should find his missing half. Deciding that it may have something to do with his family, he returned to the land of his origins in hopes of finding his Brother, curious to see what has changed over the years.

=============================================

Misc: An expedition gone wrong early in life left him with his right leg being twisted outward somewhat from the knee down, forcing him to use a cane to keep his stride a standard pace.

This cane seems unnecessary when under the effect of Tuhonoa Naga.

x xAdria, Darling, would ya mind comin out to play with these lads?

                  NAME Petra Focalor
                  AGE Appears to be in his mid 30's, Considering he is Taravo's brother though, must be close to two hundred.
                  GENDER Male. Totally a male.
                  HEIGHT AND WEIGHT 5'11" and 154 pounds.
                  RACE Human with many secrets.
                  KINGDOM I... guess I was born in Calyop. Considering how long I've been away though, I do not feel like I am of her people anymore, and thus align with myself.
                  LOVE LIFE I swing with the ladies~
                  OCCUPATION Archaeologist, Explorer, Trailblazer, but most importantly - Gentleman Extraordinaire!
                  FAMILY Have you met my brother? His name is Taravo Focalor. I'm looking for him.
                  WEAPON/MAGIC My weapons? What's a weapon? I mean I use whatever's in my travel kit. Ya know - Hooks, foot spikes, ropes... I think I have a pickaxe in this pack somewhere. Also, though it's not really a weapon, I do have a walking cane that I keep on me due to a leg injury I took early in life that never healed right.

                  But most of my firepower comes in the form of Adria as well as a series of magic artifacts.

                  Adria
                  A phoenix not quite at the half-way point of her first cycle's lifetime, She has accompanied me since I obtained her a long, long time ago.

                  Aside from being my companion to keep me from going mad, Adria also has a variety of abilities she can use to protect me. However, I need to find someone who knows how to train a Phoenix so I can figure out how to make her stronger. Maybe Calyop would have such a person...

                  Fire Manipulation - Being a Phoenix, Adria has the ability to conjure and control fire. Though the potentials this could be applied are many and varied, Adria's applications seem to focus less on aggression and more on protection.

                  Rejuvenation - Like all Phoenixes, the tears and feathers of Adria are able to heal wounds or bring life back to the dead, though reincarnation seems to be picky and selective at times. It is by this reason that Petra has lived as long as he has. Adria can also use light and moderate power healing spells.

                  Then theres her staple claws and beak, which are useful both for hunting prey AND for taking out eyeballs.

                  Fernya
                  Takes on the appearance of a hand mirror. Is often hidden beneath an article of Petra's clothing.

                  Power: Copycat. Effects - A random spell of an offensive type directed at Petra blesses him with the ability to use that spell as well as weaker spells of the same element, alignment, and purpose of effect.

                  Tuhonoa Naga

                  Takes on the appearance of a small, ruby brooch that he uses to keep his cloak fastened. There is an icon of a large bird carved into the brooch, as if suggesting at its power.

                  Power: Fusion - allows temporary fusion with Adria, blessing Petra with a fiery aura and wings, as well as all the powers associated with the Phoenix whether they be Supportive, Restorative, or Offensive. The more of his power he uses, the less time he can stay in this presence.

                  Drawback: Blacks out after use, Adria is often physically damaged in the process and thus needs to be tended to as well. After waking up, Petra is very vulnerable to burns and sensitive to heat for several days.

                  I also have Charms, but they provide temporary things and aren't as powerful. Well, I have A charm. Maybe your land will let me have more?

                  Charm of the Wilds

                  A small, rectangular piece of stone with an engraving of a human next to what appears to bef some sort of large cat.

                  THE PERSON A relatively relaxed individual with a careless attitude, Petra enjoys a good adventure more than anything. He has a sense for theatrics and thus tends to overexaggerate his motions and talks out loud to himself. Petra is very curious and at times nosy - not on purpose - but his obsessive need to know more seems to be his driving point. He has a tendency to talk to his pet, and the way he carries conversations on, one would think he understood her sounds. When excited he can be quite reckless and enjoys playing fast and loose with the rules of safety. He is, however, known to be quite greedy when he finds something he desires, and has no problem being manipulative to get it. After reading from a blank book titled Tabula Rasa, he has obtained a photographic memory, but suffers from amnesia involving event before the age of twenty.

                  THE PAST "Coincidence has always been a friend to me, I always seem to wind up where I'm meant to be." Second, and youngest, son to Abraham and Anastasia Focalor, Petra is the unknown younger brother of the Calyopian pseudo-legend Taravo. When Taravo had left home, Petra quickly followed after him, gaining his love for adventure while travelling with his sibling. A heated debate however caused by his brother's increasing bitterness had soured the two beyond the point of repair - Petra stowed away on a trade vessel bound for foreign lands and was never heard from. Along the way he picked up several trinkets of power and, for his part in saving a collapsing kingdom some years later, what the royals thought was a precious stone. In truth though, it was no stone, but instead the egg of a Phoenix. Naming the creature Adria upon its hatching, he has been able to keep himself alive by the blessings of the Phoenix's gifts, as well as perhaps the Celestials. Though he loathes the term, he simply refers to Adria as a pet to keep the confusion down.

                  Having spent most of his life travelling in foreign lands, some months past he stumbled upon a fortune teller who requested to reveal his future. Upon agreeing to the deal, an ominous warning about a shadow and missing half spurred him to return to Calyop, curious as to what it could imply. While bound for the once-homeland of his, he overheard talk about his brother, who was still alive apparently, much like Petra. Unfortunately, the ship Petra as on has sunk in a sea storm when Land was just in sight, and he has drifted quite a ways off course from safe harbor as he washes up on the beach. Alive, of course, but very, very lost.
