Realizing we spend out lives living in a culture of dear. Inherited a legacy of malignant sacrifices - that of innocent, the sacrifice of humanity- sacrificed so that we in term can frolic in out own filth & ignorance as a society.
It is beyond me how deep the human nature, may, instincts, has a miasmatic effect in everything we do. Instincts of dominance, propagation, survival and biological fitness, all rooting to the universal concept of The Seven Sins.
Lust, communing with instincts of dominance and propagation.
Greed, communing with survival and dominance.
Gluttony, communing with survival and natural fitness.
Wrath, linked to the failure at communicating with the physical world or one's self, basically all the other sins.
Jealousy, often associated with greed but contains its roots in dominance.
Sloth, loosely associated with survival.
Pride, all of the above, both as a result and factor.
The tremendous hold that our instincts have upon us, while unnegligibly necessary for our ability to evolve to this point, also is, now that we dominate the planet, keeping us from truly prospering as an Utopian society. The excessive power of our instincts breeds stupidity & generates discord; the human thirst for conflict.
