Terraderm Types
Taken from my personal notes. Alu suggests that a share as little as possible, but I think this should be alright. As it is taken from my personal notes, no spell check has been used, nor have I "fact-checked" any of my pseudo-science. Enjoy!

Protoplasm:
The building blocks of a Terraderm, basically a blank genetic slate. These inoccuous glowing-blue cells, in a semi-viscous state, can assume any living tissue's functionality when hit with a certain eletrical voltage and amperage.
However, being unstable by nature, it was deemed too dangerous for use on the Forn'lyth to extend their lifespan, and only after it's rediscovery by Genjuru was it allowed use for the Terraderm project.
Protoplasm loses it's genetic state, or "stability" when the charge is disrupted, or adrenaline or dopamine come into play, as the cells were never designed to deal with specific chemical receptors.

Geniplasm:
A less stable version of protoplasm, developed by Dr. Albert Wright. While it cannot maintain stability for any feasible amount of time, it has the added benefit of being able to form both organic, and inorganic material, unlike protoplasm, which can only form living tissue.
Dr. Ami Tatsuki-Wright forbid it's use on the Terraderm project, due to being too unstable for longevity, and the fact that, if it comes in contact with Protoplasm, is causes a resonance backlash, causing all cells to catostrophically fail, and break-down.

H.E.D.
Hybrid Evolution Display system sends instructions to auxillary CPU's installed at different points throughout the Terraderm, maintaining Protoplasm functionality. Additionally routes pertinent information back to the Terraderm via optical sensors installed in the visual cortex.

Placidex:
Locks protoplasm cells in their current state, maintaining genetic cohesion. However, due to it's effect, it also forms a substance very similar to blood clots in a human, causing minor damage as the HED scrambles to restore functionality.

Genetic Terraderm, Mark IV-VI
First successful Terraderms, using a base of animal and Forn'lyth DNA. An HED system, basically a microprocessor and control computer, are installed in the base brain, controlling all protoplasm function.
However genetic stability is constantly an issue, with placidex only alleviating the problem slightly.
Named for the functioning enviroment, built to continue the underground Forn'lyth empire.

Genetic Protoderm, Experimental
Using Geniplasm generator matrixes at the base of the spine, forearms and legs, this allows the Protoderm to develop any situational weaponry required for a task, before venting the Geniplasm to prevent damage to surrounding Protoplasm-based tissues.
Genetic Cyberderm, Design only
A cybernetic AI-controlled combat chassis contained within a armored "sheath" of protoplasm. Only found in notes, based on a design by Genjuru and Albert Wright.
Genetic Botaderm, Mark I Prototype
One of Ami's experiental projects, using pure protoplasm (just like the Terraderms), trying to find a solution to the lack of genetic stability. Using her DNA as a base, she supplemented this with plant DNA until she had created a creature that could regenerate damaged portions of their anatomy nearly at will, much faster than even a Terraderm can.
However, this lone prototype was discovered by Dr. Wright and "disposed of".

D'oh. Forgot the placidex injector.

A stainless steel cylinder, with glass-contained placidex within. Upon the three needles entering the skin at it's base, a plunger is pressed, bursting an orb full of placidex, injecting the chemical. Designed by Albert Wright, this injector is vital to the Terraderm's survival outside of laboratory conditions.

Just leaving a quick comment so you know I read this. Also, let me know when you feel settled enough on the various designs for these things and I'll add them to my "draw list". ^_^
