HnDR
Two years. About two years since I last posted. It's been a while, but when I noticed Mayve on Gaia, I figured I'd come back for a bit.

Not much save a quick update on Hikari no Densetsu, which, yes, is still running.

HnDR, or Hikari no Densetsu Realized is a remake of the remake of HnD. Yes, there was the original HnD, a remake based on Charisma 3.5, then the new remake running on the new Charismatic 5.0. The newer systems allow multiple new character interactions, a much better and thought-out world and race system, and a less... shall we say, variant battle system.

For example of the much more realized, and interesting world, I thought I post an except from my DM notebook, the race section.
----

Races:
Human: A young race, and the most primitive, created by Ba'al. Designed to be petty, weak, and short lived, this caused them to become a violent, although resourceful and calculating people.

Forn'lyth: Tyria's race, a beautiful, thin race, with liliting, almost lyrical voices. Their technology level was original fairly low, although most of the advanced technology was stolen from the Fyr'lyth during their hundred-year-war. Their mana circuitry, a symbol almost synonomous with their race and appearance, was created during this war to counter the Fyr'lyth link suits.

Fyr'lyth: An ancient race created by Koraxia, they lived mostly below ground, where they encountered the Forn'lyth during the creation of the Great Underground Empire. Their inginuity was nearly matched by their industrial nature. Their technology level ranged from steam-powered engines and firearms, to cold-fusion power plants and energy-based weapons, although these were still in their infancy before the Great-Collapse.

Elven: The offspring of Humans, and the Forn'lyth that came to the surface following the Great Collapse. Due to the lack of selective breeding used to create the Mana Circuitry, this feature is absent from all, except in the rare cases where it will still appear over select portions of their anatomy, usually the extremities, such as forearms and hands, or calf and feet.

Terraderm: A creature mixed of DNA from animals, Humans and Forn'lyth. Comprised of blank genetic material known as Protoplasm, the Protoplasm forms the cells required for function based on instructions recieved from a HED computer system installed in the base of the "brain".

------

As you can see, while not the most balanced, the races have been finalized, including name, and a minor history. Also, this is the first HnD to have the full continent, as opposed to just the "Tri-Island" area, which is actually about a tenth of the size, and is off the coast. This HnD includes the entire continental area, making for a much more broad, epic-ish story.

As this is a reboot, the base story remains the same, with a few major differences. However, due to the sweeping, butterfly-effect-esque changes brought about by these differences, the sequels are already completely different, bearing little resemblance to the originals. Heck, the original "Magitech War" which was a major story part of the series is, at this point, not even on the horizon.

Well, that's it for now. Just wanted to post a few things here on the new HnD and see if there's any interest.

And, I'm not necessarily(sp) back; I wanted to use this journal again to keep the friends I have on Gaia aware of the new RPG, however, most of my RPG-based posts, and DM discussions, take place on the ONRpg forums.

Draygon out.

(EDIT: Yes, Alu, you can probably guess why they're called "Fyr Marbles" now. You probably also will note that I never actually wrote that down anywhere, and just speaking the term, you probably thought it was "Fire Marble". =P )
