A big fear for just about anyone writing a series seems to be where they get their inspiration from, and the influence it has on their story. When I started working on this story (About in 4th grade) I didn't know much about this concept of the magical world of copyrights. So, I got my ideas from just about anywhere, and gladly put them into the story. Granted, I wasn't keeping a list or anything, so I don't remember where I got my ideas, but they've changed over the years, partially from me realizing that they were from that series, or me just changing it accidentally. So I think I'll keep a list of where I got my ideas and where I didn't.

Everyonce in a while I'll see some theme in a story or show that I like, and end up having some scene or part of the series that has something similar. Other times though, it's fairly bold and obvious what I got it from.
Where I DID get ideas from:

Elfen Lied : In Elfen Lied, Lucy's evil side shows up whenever she gets hurt. I saw this, and it ended up showing up in Ken. I hate this. I've built it so much into the series, though, that I can't take it out. I've been trying to think of a different way for him to show up, or at least various other ways, but it's not easy. :/

Shrek : Yeah, I even got an idea from Shrek. xD I remember seeing how Shrek was some kind of nasty, angry guy, but had his soft side. This isn't the most original theme, and I've seen it in lots of other places, but this is where I originally got the idea.

Where I DIDN'T get ideas from:

Psycho Busters : This really irks me. I swear, they have managed to come up with SO many of the same powers that I have in my series. It irks me. |:< For example, one character can create hallucinations (Illusen) and another character uses telekenesis (Sam, he even uses it the same way!!!) and another uses mind reading. Now, these aren't really NEW powers or anything, but it still bugs me. :<

xMen : I didn't even know this series existed when I first started the series. But I have had more people than I can count say "So it's like xMen?" when I tell them about it. |:< But the theme of them being rejects from society who have to keep their powers secret... UGH. It's like the basis of my series word for word.
