There is just something about online "dating" that bothers me. While I agree that companionship is comforting in any form, the thought of calling somebody I met on Gaia my boyfriend is ridiculous. To me, it would actually be depressing if I had to resort to that. I would much rather prefer I met somebody in real life, took the time to get to know that person (face to face), and then decided whether or not I wanted to date them. It just doesnt make any sense to "date" someone on Gaia that you've never even met, and barely know at all. confused

Maybe it's some sort of false comfort, to call somebody your bf/gf, have the title but not an actual relationship. I cant imagine going to someones profile (that I barely know) and saying something along the lines of "I luv u baby c u in towns 2nite" or some other bulls**t like that. Honestly. It just makes me sick that this is what people resort to, a false sense of love...over the internet.
