Tensions have broken out between the rebels and royalists! What began as a low-key resistance movement and a city reconstruction has turned into an aggressive fight for territory. Time spent in the encampments (training ORPs) will now reflect the necessary tasks required to take over as much of Old Hemisect as possible, with royalists turning to the offense to eject the encroaching rebellion, while rebels fight to hang onto and expand their territory within Old Hemisect City.

Teams of trolls have been assigned as part of larger squads to take over Old Hemisect City and establish dominance. There are two options for trolls to assist (in-character) in this phase: working in the field and in the base. At any point trolls can switch between the field and the base so long as there is justification in character. A group can have members located both on-base and off. This is purely RP based and is irrelevant to game mechanics. Potential activities for both options include (but are not limited to)

- Staying local at the base: communicating over radio, relaying plans & intel, strategizing, organizing troops, activating demolition technology, looking at sweet holograms, and any number of things that can be done within the military or rebel bases.
- Going on the field: receiving radio communications, carrying out plans, physically building and demolishing buildings, infiltrating and collecting close-up intel on locations, rallying troops, and any number of things that can be done in Old Hemisect City itself.

Each field group is accompanied by drone NPCs that carry temporary lodgings, supplies, and of course walkie talkies to receive orders from base. They may additionally use military transport (rebels may need to improvise) to travel between locations. They are in charge of carrying out, assisting in, and overseeing the orders from base and from those in their assigned field group.

Welcome to… Old Hemisect Recovery
The Battle for Old Hemisect City

ACTIVITY:
If a member is offline for several hours or unable to post on that day, the rest of the group is not expected to wait for them to reply. Trolls can be written out as having been separated from the group, following orders quietly, or whatever seems best for the troll in question.

If you don't think you can keep up with the meta or your schedule has changed and you don't have enough time, please notify your group members so they aren't waiting for you.

POSTING:
Placeholder posts accompanying rolls are encouraged so that player actions can be posted immediately in the War Room and added quickly to the OHC Map. However, you cannot roll again until the post is complete with RP text. There is a two-sentence minimum, but no word count requirement.

HOW TO PLAY:
Groups, already split into groups of up to 4, have 10 days to work together with each other and their fellow teams to take over as much territory as possible in Old Hemisect City.

Each group will have a thread all to their own to roleplay, build bases for their side, demolish opposing basis, recruit and mobilize defense forces, and gather intel to discover new coordinates fresh for the taking. There will additionally be a main thread that will contain the master map of Old Hemisect. This map is a 6x6 grid; in each box is a location within Old Hemisect City that can be captured by either the rebels or the royalists. The significance of the 6x6 format is in consideration of the coordinates that lie within the map. Each group starts out with 1 random coordinate, generated by the mule by rolling 2 six-sided die. The first die counts on the grid horizontally, while the second counts vertically, resulting in a location on the map. For example:

Mule rolls 2D6 to find a coordinate and rolls a 3 and a 6. She counts 3 to the right and 6 up and finds that she has unlocked the Old Hemisect Opera House. She can now make actions that affect this location such as building or destroying a base.

Each troll within the group may make 2 actions per day (days being determined by daily posts by the mule) of the following actions:

Build: Roll 1D6 to build on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the durability of the base. You can also build on friendly bases to add durability, up to a maximum of 30 durability. You cannot build on a coordinate that already has an enemy base on it.
Trolls with training in Construction get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Rally: Roll 1D6 to organize defenders, which can be assigned to any coordinate you have unlocked. The roll result determines the amount of defenders you have rallied. Defenders will be on stand-by until you mobilize them. Defenders are the second level of defense that can be assigned to protect a base. You must use defenders to take out defenders if you want to demolish an enemy base!
Trolls with training in Recruiting get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Demolish:
Roll 1D6 to destroy a base on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the amount of damage done to the durability of the base. At 0 durability, the base is destroyed. You cannot demolish a base with defenders assigned to it.
Trolls with training in Demolition get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Intelligence: Roll a new coordinate (2D6). If you roll a coordinate you have already unlocked, the roll is wasted.
Trolls with training in Intelligence get a bonus to their rolls:
Apprentice: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6)
Journeytroll: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6); if at least 1 of the coordinates is not unique, re-roll 2D6 until a new coordinate has been unlocked.
Master: Journeytroll effect OR select one new coordinate from another team and unlock it. You must post with roleplay in your own thread and the other team’s thread for this to take effect.
Grandmaster: Journeytroll effect OR Master effect OR… Roll 1 coordinate (2D6). If your allies control the coordinate rolled: add 5 durability and 5 defenders to that coordinate (may surpass the maximum durability/defender limit by 5). If your opponents control the coordinate rolled: it loses 5 durability and 5 recruits (does not apply if the numbers would decrease past 0). You additionally unlock the coordinate.

Mobilize: Choose one of two options:
1. Send defenders from your stand-by or a friendly-base you control to any friendly-base on a coordinate that you have unlocked.
2. Assault an enemy-controlled coordinate that you have unlocked using defenders from a friendly base. Defenders must be deployed to a base before they can assault an enemy base and cannot be deployed directly from standby.

For each new page of RP, each troll in the group receives extra actions:
Groups of 2: 3 extra actions per troll
Groups of 3: 2 extra actions per troll
Groups of 4: 1 extra action per troll

These actions must be used on the day that they are unlocked; they cannot stack and will disappear after the following refresh by the mule.

Example: Trolls A, B, and C are in a group and have already used their actions for the day. They RP in response to their fellow group-mates' actions and reactions to the events taking place, and breach a new page of RP. Each troll can make 2 more actions.

Quote:
DAILY REFRESH
Each day, the mule will post in each team thread. This is what constitutes a new day. The first day, the mule will grant each team 1 free coordinate to unlock by rolling 2D6 in the thread. After that, the mule posts will refresh each troll’s 2 actions per day.

The mule will also roll 2D6 in the War Room during this time, which will determine a coordinate that may have special attributes associated with it. This may involve a bonus for the team that destroys the base, builds on the base, or another special condition, good or bad.

Quote:
ACTION BREAK-DOWNS:

BUILDING BASES
1. Select a coordinate that you have unlocked that does not have a base on it.
Troll A has chosen the Troll Spaghetti Factory

2. One troll chooses to use an action to build on that coordinate and rolls xD6 (depending on skill level in Construction).
Troll A rolls a 6 and builds a base on the Troll Spaghetti Factory

3. The resulting number is the durability of that base.
The Troll Sphagetti Factory has 6 durability.

4. The troll can choose to build on any existing friendly base on a coordinate that they have unlocked
Troll A builds again to reinforce the Troll Spaghetti Factory, which now has 9 durability.

PLACING DEFENDERS
1. One troll chooses to use an action to rally and rolls xD6 (depending on skill level in Recruiting)
Troll A rallies and now has 5 defenders in standby.

2. One troll chooses to mobilize the defenders that they have rallied, and may place them on any friendly base.
Troll A mobilizes the defenders in standby, and decides to place 3 of them on the Troll Spaghetti Factory. Troll A now has 2 defenders in standby. There are 3 defenders on the Troll Spaghetti Factory.

ATTACKING/DESTROYING A BASE
1. Select a coordinate that you have unlocked that contains an enemy base.
Troll B decides to attack the Troll Spaghetti Factory.

2. If the base does not contain defenders: skip to step 5; if the base contains defenders, go to the next step.
Troll B sees that the Troll Spaghetti Factory contains defenders, and cannot immediately demolish the base.

3. One troll chooses to mobilize defenders that they have stationed on a friendly base to assault the base.
Troll B mobilizes 3 defenders from the Troll Cheesecake Factory to assault the Troll Spaghetti Factory.

4. The number of friendly defenders is subtracted from the number of enemy defenders.
3 defenders – 3 defenders = 0 defenders remaining on the Troll Spaghetti Factory.

5. If there are no defenders left on the enemy base, it can be demolished.
Troll B rolls a 4 to demolish the Troll Spaghetti Factory.

6. Subtract the resulting demolition number from the durability of the enemy base. When the base drops to 0 durability, it is destroyed.
9 durability – 4 demolish = 5 durability remaining on the Troll Spaghetti Factory. Nice try, Troll B!

Quote:
UPDATING THE MAP:
Results of your conquests will only be valid if you post major events and actions in the War Room thread. It is necessary to post to this thread when the following actions occur:

You build a new base on a coordinate
You reinforce a friendly base
You assign defenders to a base
You assault a base
You do damage to a base
You destroy a base
You use the Grandmaster Intelligence perk to affect a base

Do not intentionally hold off on posting to the War Room thread to gain advantage over others; this is considered cheating. Please post in the thread ASAP. It doesn’t matter if the same troll that performed the action posts in the thread, and you can delegate if you want to!

Once a post has been made in the War Room, the action will be considered official and at this time, others can act on the territories that have been lost, gain, or augmented. The physical map itself will update as frequently as possible for ease of access and the timestamp of its update will always be present, but always check for new posts prior to making assault decisions. These do not need to be in character.

Quote:
GAINING POINTS:
The royalist and rebel sides will gain points depending on the success of teams supporting their faction. The point values are as follows:

10 points for building a base
10 points for destroying a base
5 points each day for each base at time of mule posting
Additional points for mysterious daily bonuses!

This will be kept track of by staff.

Quote:
LOOSE ENDS:
For all intents and purposes, assaulting of bases with defenders does not automatically equate to wiping out the opposing trolls. A victory at a base may mean causing the opponent to surrender or flee, sometimes with little or no fighting involved. This is a conflict with many defenders being Old Hemisect City residents after all, and while trolls are a violent species, there are many definitions of victory within this territory game. Especially considering that the functional mechanic involves subtracting the forces’ numbers from each other, usually resulting in 0 “survivors”! Consider this result to be the number of “active” defenders (as opposed to defenders on stand-by), rather than living defenders.

aka.... not all trolls were harmed in the making of this meta
