Lily: It's interesting stuff to learn. And aside from occasionally putting warheads on foreheads, most ship's company is all about being technicians. I'm an electrician; I make sure peoples' outlets and lights work.

This and this might be good reading. Definitely interesting, anyway. A lot of modern Western navies base their insignia off of the British system, so there are a lot of similarities. Though your guys' looks ornate as hell.
