You should be able to make floating books, given either a specific gas or magnets.

If it were magnets, would these be industrial sized or the kind you can hang on your keychain (qm).

Not necessarily industrial-sized, I think, but large enough to put in your book-sleeves -- And another magnet at where you want it to float over for the opposing force;

You do have to take into account the weight of the book here.

Which would increase with the addition of a magnet embedded in its...spine(qm); I would like to know how you keep the book open to the desired page, because I have a hell of a time with that at the gym.
