And now, a note from me--Aravilar.
This is my favorite thread at Gaia. Yes. It is. And as much as I try to be as nice and friendly as possible, it just annoys me when people blatantly disregard the rules for this thread. Harmy-sama's already laid down her five ground rules, so I'd like to give you all some examples of what are good posts and what aren't.
Rule #1: One sentence per post.
This means just that--one sentence. It doesn't mean you cannot have shorter phrases joined together in that sentence, but it does mean that there should be a period at the end.
Good-- My cat is furry.
Bad-- My cat is furry. It has brown fur. And it has green eyes.
Rule #2: Sentence must end in one period (not an exclamation point or a question mark).
As I said before, all sentences need to end in a period.
Good-- This thread is great.
Good-- This thread is great(ep).
Good-- What is this thread(qm).
Bad-- This thread is great! (Or anything other than a period.)
Rule #3: You may post about any topic you like as long as you obey the rules.
That's exactly right. Whatever you want to post is fine--from your lunch to your classes to your pet goldfish. Follow the rules, and have fun. =)
Rule #4: Rulebreakers will be bitten.
Harmy-sama will bite you if you don't follow the rules. Or she'll use her Hex Vision on you--whichever appeals to her most.
Rule #5: Don't be an a*****e to the regulars (or anyone in this thread really).
Really, you should just post politely--treat other posters as you would want to be treated. It's clichéd, but it's the truth.
Some other tips:
-- Use (qm) for question marks and (ep) for exclamation points. You can string sentences together with them.
Example-- Where did my pen go(qm) I knew where it was yesterday(ep) I'll go look for it.
-- Use commas, ellipses, semicolons, and the like to make room for more in your sentences.
Example-- If I were a member of The Domo 88's, I would feel honored--you would too, if you were chosen to patrol the Statements thread; perhaps one day I'll be lucky enough to be a part of the team.
-- If you break the rules once, don't worry! Everyone makes mistakes, and you can't be expected to be perfect. Just don't show Harmy-sama or anyone else that you have no care about the rules--if you don't care about the rules, Harmy-sama will ban you from the thread.
I hope this has helped you somewhat.
Mata ne,
