_xX Faceless Enemy Xx_

The black fire started to burn Fray's dress and she quickly put it out using her own manipulation powers, the black flames emitting back out of her hands towards the Nytmaer clone that was coming towards her. Everything was in flames now and her lungs filled up with smoke, causing her to begin coughing and choking for air. She went to shoot another round at Nytmaer but the beretta clicked once, twice, empty. Dammit. She shot as many darts as the tranquilizer gun would allow, but it was to no avail as the clone grabbed her by the fox ear, twisting and snapping tiny bones. She growled at him and hit him forcefully in the head with the gun, conjuring up her own illusions to distract the clone. It would at least confuse him to her location for the time being as she searched desperately through the smoke for Saria, Mohan, anyone.. Anyone that was still alive... She gasped when she saw the angels near death, tears stinging her eyes from the intense heat of the flames. "The medicine isn't working!" She cried as she reloaded her weapon. Her dress was torn, soaked in blood, and missing the skirt almost entirely from the fire. The wound on her neck was still bleeding but she couldn't feel the pain yet, the adrenaline she felt was keeping her on high alert. The flames that had almost reached the Manor were beginning to die down as she concentrated on extinguishing the ones immediately surrounding them, a great deal of energy emitting from her as she did so.

Dean had only just returned to his feet when the fire spread across the yard, flames engulfing the tables and the corpses surrounding them. His eyes were watering as he saw the Nytmaer clone coming after him. "Curse you back to hell!" He yelled at the being, shooting at him as fast as his shotgun would pump out bullets. He spotted Yuni's lifeless body still in her chair where she'd blacked out, and attempted to pick her up and hoist the petite girl over his shoulder. The table collapsed and crumbled to ash only moments after he'd removed her from the same fate. He was only halfway into reading her file when he'd been interrupted earlier---but from what he could tell, she was the key to stopping this deity called Nytmaer. Or at least she had been his vessel for long enough to know how to stop him. He couldn't hear Fray's cry over the roar of the fire, carrying Yuni back towards the Manor which had yet to catch fire. He could at least take her body somewhere safe for the time-being.

As Aveline opens the door, Thurgood slips in to asses the situation as he turns to his left to scan the lounge for potential threats. Aveline turns to her right to do the same with the bar area. Of course, Dean may be entering from the opposite side of the building with Yuni by the time they look back in that direction.

"Where the hell is this battle then?" Thurgood asks.

Gorthan would find that the mind Nytmaer had invaded would be a tough one to poke into, and manage to stay sane while within. Thousands of voices speaking at once, saying something different in different tongues. All the pent up malice and just general heeby geeby evil completely overriding the whims of the host. The only reason why Yuni's medicine wasn't working was because this wasnt Yuni, and Nytmaers base was in her peanut brain. This could be seen more like a hub. Anyway, back to the dragonling. Nytmaer pushed back against the young ones mind, sending wave after wave of mental screeches and hexes. This was making the body work a little slower as this took some attention, and so Gorthan's flying tackle would make its mark. Nytmaer, however, still had its gauntlets, and the spidery shadow appendages sprouting from its back.

"My place? Do you know who I am, runt?!" Obviously Gorthan wouldn't, but Nytmaer had a sort of wounded pride. Falling back from the tackle, the spider tendrils would curl inward with sharpened ends aiming to stab into the young one. It kept its hands busy, reaching to grab at Gorthans throat and jaws. "I am the dark lord of nightmares come true! God of the shadow fae! My place is at the head of a banquet, with your head on my plate!"

The dark flames roared with their masters anger.

Kai's natural chill was becoming very apparent, laces of frost on the ground around her sizzling from the heat of the flames. The darker angel at first couldn't feel the intensity of the fire, her mental self becoming disconnected from her physical self. But when she did register the high molecular kinetic energy, she felt a slight relief. Not organic, but it was energy. Like empty calories. Her chill reached out and snuffed the fire near her, Kira, and Mohan, leaving laces of frost and small ice structures on the charred ground. Organic energy wouldn't help Kira, but it was something to keep from crumbling away completely. Kai saw poor Frayda in her ruined dress, the fire, Nytmaer wrestling a small dragon, and Yuni being carried inside by the priest. Yuni was out like a light, unaware and out of mind. She might twitch like shes having a nightmare, but Kai doubted her Charge will come out of that sleep very soon. Even if you slapped her... Thankfully with Nytmaer now so preoccupied, none of the conjurations would have the mind to go after her and Dean.

Gorthan growled viciously at Nytmaer as he tackled the god, even though he knew not of him it was still right to help. "Your place means naught to me, thou hath invaded thy homestead." He said as it blunt as he could, his tongue slipping slowly back to Heirgon his native language. So instead he pressed harder into man's mind paying not a bit of attention to anything else inside. He kept his mind on other things, like the fact he looks forward to one day meeting his mother. The one who birthed him and gave him life, he only hoped should that day come that she would accept him.

Thieving Rogue

The vines burnt up rather easily as Nytmaer exploded the black flame similar to Yuni's about her organic energy. Then, Nytmaer clones came at her, and she momentarily lost which Nytmaer was the real one.

As the clones ran towards her, she once again began shooting large black thorns upwards, impaling bodies on her black spikes. A few learned her tricks and began jumping at an alarming rate, dodging her attacks. She would shoot vines and thorns from her hands, some with enough force to pierce a clone against a nearby tree or the side of the building, and vines again wrapping and squeezing, snapping bones.

She needed her weapons. Her organic-based warfare was not cutting it. When she had a moment free of clone attacks she turned to the manor, and a moment later a large vine burst out from her bedroom window, causing glass to shatter and fall. She shielded her face with her forearm as the large vine extended to her, holding her sword-whip, her bow and arrow, and her daggers.

It took seconds to arm herself and then she dodged, the vine itself catching ablaze and disintegrating before the flames could work their way back towards her bedroom.

She kept running to get a good distance as she clicked her bow and arrow open, pulling out an arrow with lightening speed and aiming towards the clones. Expertly aimed arrows began flying, piercing the clones in the perfect spots. Through eyes, through temples, most making clean exits through the skull. Her eyes and expert timing allowed for one arrow to pierce multiple targets, knocking them down one by one at an alarming speed. Elves and their arrows. In the seconds it took an arrow to leave her bow, it would wrap itself with poisoned thorns which would make removal of the arrow excruciatingly painful if she happened to hit someone in a non-instant death spot.

She lost the original target, and was now aiming and shooting anything that resembled Nytmaer. She took down two coming at her; took one down that was jumping towards Frayda, another that was coming at Dean. She saw a few heading towards Mohan and the angels and managed to take out three with one shot. There was one heading for Gorthan, she shot in that direction as well.
Mohan frowned as the images came to mind. She needed to feed. But he understood very little about Kai's feeding habits, just that it was somewhat similar to how a vampire gets its life energy. He watched as her frost reached out to the heat, a source of energy. He looked to Saria as she began her barrage of attacks, falling back to the most basic training of her race. He looked again to Kai.

"What about Saria? She can conjure organic energy. Will that help? Can she channel her energy for you to feed on?"

He looked again to Nytmaer, trying to understand Kai's images. Was she saying they needed to destroy the body he was possessing? Crush it so it can no longer move?

Eyes moved again to Kira. He had done all he could for her - wrapped her up as best he could considering they were not in the lab, and he was afraid to move her to try to get to the lab. They had to get the energy through Kai to help.

"Destroy the body!" Mohan shouted at Frayda - and really everyone who could hear him - as Fray cried that the medicine wasn't working.

"Saria, get over here!"

"It sounds like the battle's in back," Aveline says, and then they both see the unconscious Yuni.

"Ya know, I wondered why the hell we're here, but now I do. Let's see what's out there."

With that, the siblings raise the muzzles of their AKs and step thorugh the back door to make sense of what's going on, and how they can help Yuni, as well as other people they know from the Cat Scratch (or think they know, with all of the seamless realm-shifting and whatnot).

Nytmaer was furious at this young thing attacking it both mentally and physically. Another heat wave like scan pulsed through the area as it wrestled the dragon, though it seemed a bit weaker. It's not as effective on those that already had fears and vulnerable memories pulled out, unless there are other things that could be pulled. It'd be an interesting thing for the drow siblings Thurgood and Aveline to walk into. Maybe they'd get a nostalgic feeling from when they encountered those dark fae abominations at the CatScratch. Inside the mind of Gorthan, Nytmaer felt the blocking memory and hope he was using to try and mentally defend himself. His mother?

Well, let's see how he'll do when the conjuration appeared and didn't accept him. Cuz that's pretty much exactly what'll happen after that scan went through. Having a dragon conjuration on your side would make things more interesting, if anything...

The dark god gave an old curse at hearing the doctor under the chaos yell something about destroying a body. Drat. That damn old bird... Fed up with Gorthan, a few of the not as busy clones came over to try and pry the young dragon off the original while said original started willing more of its dark fire from his palms to burn into Gorthans face and throat. Nytmaer had a statue to kick in the face. And an elf to fry, possibly...

Slowly, Kai shook her head at the suggestion of Saria giving her energy. It wouldn't be enough, and she didn't want to tire one of the Manors best fighters. Or even possibly kill her. Ice crystals tinkled before spikes of solid water shot up around the three of them, a few by where Fray stood. A few clones like the ones Saria was elf-sniping were impaled, catching one midpounce. Sucking out molecular kinetic energy was easy enough for her, it was the concentrating on where that was tricky. Had to be close. No Nytmaer clone was going to get at Kira's body. Even if Kai lost her physical form, she would make certain of that.

Looking back at Mohan, Kai tried to communicate to the doctor that she'd be fine. Small stumps of ice formed around her, supporting her upper body since her legs crumbled away.

Thieving Rogue

Saria looked to Mohan as he called out to her. The clones just kept coming, and she kept putting them down. But the momentary distraction was enough for one of the clones to grab on to her, razor-sharp black fingers aiming for her torso. A vine managed to grab the clone by the feet, dragging it backwards, but as it did so the clone sunk it's fingers into Saria's upper thigh, tearing away portions of her skirt, and drawing deep red gashes down her leg. She screamed in agony before tumbling forward and out of the way, spinning around with another arrow to the eye of the clone.

She began run-limping towards the angels and Mohan, still taking down clones as best she could. She watched as Kai's ice-spikes took out one of the clones, draining it of energy. There was an idea.

She paused in her arrow-barrage, allowing the clones to dash closer to the group. She was luring them in so that Kai could impale more and suck out the energy.

"How do we destroy his body?" Saria yelled to Mohan. "He has an army protecting him!"
Mohan was unsure of what to do now. He felt he was out of field-medic options, having bandaged Kira up the best he could and snapping Kai out of shock, again, as best he could. When Kai managed to drain the energy of one of the clones, he seemed to have the same idea as Saria at the same time. He watched as she started luring the clones in as an easy snack for the deconstructor. As long as they could keep the real Nytmaer preoccupied, hopefully he won't notice the strategy.

He looked back to Kai as she tried to communicate that she'd be alright. He wasn't sure if she was serious or just saying it to make him feel better and move on. He stood up, his form beginning to phase as he was getting ready to shift.

"Saria, keep an eye on the girls." He said, his voice deep as it began to morph. He became an elephant, opting for brute strength as Kai had shown him an image of something crushing Yuni, so he figured he'd morph into a crushing animal.

There was a loud trumpeting from the elephant's trunk, and the massive animal reared on it's two legs, bringing down all 24,000 lbs onto a group of clones, the force of the weight causing significant shaking to the ground, as though an earthquake had started. As he readied himself to charge towards Nytmaer and Gorthan, long white tusks formed at the base of his trunk, ready to stab and impale if he managed to miss stomping down on the fae. He began stampeding, trumpeting again to signal for all allies to get the hell out of the way.

Gorthan could feel the burning heat searing into his skin, it only made him angrier and the defensive position he held destroyed itself mentally. The image of his mother was completely useless as an illusionary weapon, as he had never really had a clear picture to work with anyway, though the burning of the dark fire felt worse than water he was too stubborn to let go. He looked Nytmaer dead in the eye hearing Mohan trampling towards the two. Gorthan was stubborn but eventually the burning had grown to a point where he could not handle it, he let go.and backed off holding his face and throat. He was hurting but he still stood to stare down Nytmaer, "Fire...is different than mine." He said as he grabbed his throat tighter to close any bleeding, and with that he inhaled deeply his scales shining like molten magma. Exhaling he released a jet of fire ten feet in length, sparks escaping from his neck where the special lining of his throat had torn, this lining kept him from burning his tendons and ligaments in the neck. Breathing fire was dangerous, even more so for a dragon who has had their flame retardant lining torn, one could easily seriously hurt themselves. Only Gorthan was stubborn, and quite angry so caring was not an option.

Oh boy, that scan could detect lots of valuable conjurations. Not just the shadow fae, but that lion-headed creature from Sigil, the Marauders, the many demons that Chaldrath sent after them during that scouting mission, Chaldrath, the prisonders that supported Daimonas, the null angels Daimonas summoned (and one of those could probably turn all of the good guys into a red mist with just a glare), Daimonas, and especially Thurgood's greatest fear: the truly invincible enemy. If Nytmaer managed to conjure one of those, well, by definition his victory is guaranteed.

But for now, Aveline yanks the safety pin from a grenade as Thurgood opens fire into the group of shadow fae. Two seconds later, Aveline chucks the grenade into the group.

Kai found it easy to see the impromptu strategy Mohan and Saria seemingly put together, luring Nytmaer-clones to their area. Spell energy was better than molecular, by like a level or two. Junk food. Kai's hands and forearms managed to reform themselves, pale and slender digits numbly flexing at her sides. Any organic energy she had left in her reserves went right to Kira, the holes in the lighter angel's torso shrinking in size just a bit more. Kai only hoped the energy didn't go right to producing more blood since the wounds were still open... but that was on Kira. More ice spikes shot up from the ground to impale more clones, the conjurations crumbling away. Kai redirected the energy into her own magicks, a pale blue circular glyph opening up in a wide arch behind her. Spears of ice or maybe even crystal formed from it, aimed themselves, and shot through the chests of a few incoming clones.

It was such a good thing cheap conjurations like these didn't have the powers of what they're copied from... That'd be very bad. But the dark god had to make due with what this body would let it. It would get quite nasty in Yuni's if it ever had the chance... The ground shook, though Nytmaer actually mistook it as the conjured dragon. Then Gorthan finally relented and backed off to send a torrent of red fire at it, which Nytmaer hastily defended against with a wave of its own black flames as it stumbled to stand. Then there was a trumpeting, one that didn't resemble a dragon's. Confused and still putting up that fiery defense, the deity looked over its shoulder and just having the most disappointed look one its face. Then it just glared with its violet eyes.

"I wanted a dragon... Te libero." The last bit rolled like thunder, the violet receding from the man's hazel eyes. Then Mohan's elephant feet came down on the body as the man fell back, easily crushing his lower half. A human scream of agony came from his throat, tainted black blood splattering outwards where his legs used to be. It was like waking up from a nightmare, just to be in another one. Poor sap.

The conjurations moved a bit slower now, and they didn't multiply. What was out was out. Kai narrowed her black eyes, glancing over everyone and everything. Looking, watching, waiting...

Gorthan halted at the screams, he did not know any better that the person, or entity, had not been who it was. Instead he took it for victory and unclenched his throat, smoke, and evaporating blood escaped his throat. His hands soaked in the red goopy liquid that sustained his life, he had burned his own throat and caused a lot of bleeding, though he was lucky that no major arterial veins had been cooked. His face ran with the warm liquid, he could feel it running down his chin, his eyes black and cold, as cold as a winter storm, his thoughts ran between friendship, and murder the ling was officially confused. He breathed in and out and with each breath of air, he winced in sheer pain, his voice quiet as he tried to scream but in his stubborn arrogance he had damaged his vocal chords, and a bit of muscle tissue.

Screaming in silence he dropped to his knees and beat on the ground, the blood running, falling to the dirt, staining the grass red. He was afraid again, he did not know what was going on, and in his haste to assist he got himself hurt. Laying there on the ground he cried, his mind subconsciously sending telepathic signals to any and all nearvy dragons, it was an aide signal, letting them know he was in trouble, that he was afraid, and quite useless. He pounded the ground again and again the signal sent itself, he could not feel his throat, or half his face. Nytmaer had done some real damage to the ling, damage that he would not let go unchecked. Nytmaer had incurred his wrath, as he did the deity's, but Gorthan knew there would be nothing he could do against such a powerful being.

Yet in the bushes undetected so far, and unseen, waited a purple dragon, a fully grown purple dragon. Her name was Seranip and she was the one who had guided Gorthan along so many times without being seen. Now she saw the ling in trouble, hurt, and bleeding, something that made her blood boil. She peered around at the other patrons, the elven female Saria was sure to sense her presence after the battle. As such she would make haste to get out of radar range of Saria the moment the fight ended, Seranip knew that no battle as grim as this was finished after a mere death like that. To her the god would be a snack, to Gorthan the deity was a God in all rights and Seranip knew this. She knew Gorthan would eventually have to support and fight on his own. This was good experience, though as of right now she stalked in the bushes, stock still, and quiet as death as she merely observed the ling from her distance. She could feel his anger, his hatred, confusion, and sadness with each ping of his telepathy. It broke her heart and she grasped her left wrist to prevent herself from interfering in any way.
That was a bit unexpected. Mohan honestly didn't expect to succeed in trampling Nytmaer the first time, but he felt the bones crush beneath his massive foot similar to how it feels to crush a cockroach with a satisfying crunch. But the satisfaction of ending the onslaught was immediately destroyed as the doctor heard the wails of the body whom Nytmaer had possessed. He shifted immediately, back into his torn up suit as he stood over the body of the crushed guest.

He fell to his knees, immediately surveying the damage to help, but it was too late. The wails were cut short, and the man fell limp and quiet. Mohan stared helplessly for a few moments. The doctor in him was pained anytime there was a death, especially an innocent death. With a heavy sigh he pushed closed the man's eyelids closed before looking over his shoulder for more injured. He noticed Gorthan was wailing on the ground near him, so he stood up and made his way over to the dragonling.

"Gorthan, hey, calm down." He said soothingly, kneeling down beside the distraught ling. "Let me take a look."
