the august event is here! crack those knuckles and prepare for lots of clicking (& don't forget to grab your daily wing sticker and charm!)
please note: this is a work in progress, i accept any info anyone comes across through their own playing and this will update as the event goes on!

about the event

this event is a direct sequel to last year's spirit of the summer event, spirit of the summer. the zen temple area is directly from the zen gardens of zomg, and features animated from zomg!

how to play

gameplay is simple, it's the same as lake kindred in general. when you first access the event page, it will ask you to pick your side - this will determine which kin you get for the event. (you will get to keep this kin!) to add the event kin to your party, go to the home screen (the icon that looks like a little house), then click on "my kins." if you participated in last month's kindred event, you may have a lot of kins already. in this case, click on the arrow near the bottom of the screen to view more of your kins and add your event kin to your party. if you don't have many kins, the arrow step may be unnecessary

(you can play without adding the event kin to your party, but it's highly recommended you use the event kin throughout the event if you would like to collect all the achievements!)

from there, hit the explore button, then select the zen temple. from here, you can select icons that determine what level kin will appear to battle your kins, it's recommended you try to battle kins around the same level as yours. on the battle screen you can attack and use items, when your kins level up they will be able to use magic and skills

each animated (zomg monster) kin defeated will score you one point for your team!the winning team's leader will set up shop in the temple, but at this time it's what will happen after that!

to get the achievements do i have to use the event kin?
yes, you must use either kitsuko or taru ; this is only for achievements, you can still be granted eggs of enemies using other kins

they can take up to six hours to grant in the first place. if you still haven't gotten it after that time, try logging in and logging back out. there have been reports of going to the event page causing them to grant as well

how do i get eggs?
they are randomly dropped by animated enemies. as of august 25 2015 all eggs from the zen area are currently available, but the rarity of encountering them differs

i got an egg but the kin is not in my my kins list/inventory!
refresh the game, then check again. if it's still not there, make sure that you're clicking the arrow button on the my kins menu. if it's still not available, check how many kins you have; if you have more than 104 you've reached the game's limit and you'll need to sell/trade some kins to make room for new ones. for inventory, check under the all tab and make sure the kin isn't soulbound

can i get egg/item drops without using kitsuko or taru?
yes. you will only not get achievements or points for your team if you don't use kitsuko or taru
do i get to keep taru/kitsuko after the event ends?
yes, as long as you joined a team and entered the game during the event, you will get to keep them and level them up at your own pace after the event ends

are the animated kins going to remain after the event ends?
yes, they will enemies in the game after the event is over, but they will no longer drop eggs, so get them while you can!

what are charge orbs/aggregates and what purpose do they serve?
originally they were dropped by animated in zomg (which is why we're seeing them drop a lot more in zen) and used to charge and upgrade rings. now they're a component in alchemy

where's the stats for the pegacorn fluff?
i'm not covering it in this guide because it is not related to this event
