When she cleared her head, there were more people in the room. Two men, one dressed formally, kneeling to the girl she had just had a picnic with, and the other one of the workers that occasionally came in with guests. The little girl seemed to be mumbling and crying. Had Sayuri hurt her? Under the restriction of the collar, she could have hardly done enough to hurt a fly.
No, apparently the girl had hurt Sayuri. Or so she thought. Sayuri gave the girl a little smile to let her know that she was alright, but it didn't seem to get through. Finally, when the girl announced her departure, Sayuri panicked. Was she leaving so soon? They had only met, but she wanted to spend more time with her. Well, she said she'd come back later.
As they turned to leave, Sayuri bowed low to them, her forehead touching the ground once more. In doing so, she missed the sight of the girl's little fangs, and when she looked up, they were gone. Picking up the small bracelet in her lap, she studied it, lost in thought.
The escort that had come in with them waited until the customers were gone, then quickly left the room to inform the guards of what happened. After all, they must leave the shapeshifter with nothing in her cell...
