Inuyasha: An Alternative Past (Accepting Canons and Baddies)

Emotions and judgement seemed to be at war with each other as InuTaisho stood his ground. Glaring eye to eye it was unimaginable to think that a human could endure such transformations. Yet right before him he witnessed the knight's physical traits being formed into something other than human. Sharp fang-like teeth, tentacles pulsing energy into his body, a deeper voice, and a vanishing humanity deep in those eyes replaced by the same crazed look Chiyoko had. No... not you too! This is beyond madness! Flashbacks of the previous fight with his mate haunted the dog demon, making him relive the same nightmare now as he had to draw his fang sword against a friend. "You will have to defeat me first before any others fall from your blade," he growled through clenched teeth. The scent of dragon flesh and bones coming from the knight's armour filled his nose. It would be a hard fight to attack Don Quixote in this humanoid form. Dragons were just as powerful as demons so it would be foolish to think that a single Wind Scar move would guarantee InuTaisho victory. Forcefully trying to push back he suddenly felt his body being repelled. Tossed through the air he managed to do a backward summer salut and land on his feet, kicking up a small dust cloud upon skidding to a stop. Golden eyes peered up to instantly see a glint of something on the knight's armour - more specifically on the neck piece. Could it be a jewel shard? One of the fragments that shattered when the jewel was hit by Kikyo's arrow?

Hesitating would only mean certain death if InuTaisho didn't act quickly. Going on the defence he only had a few precious seconds until the knight's sword bared down onto his head. Instinctively he raised the Tetseiga over his head with both hands and braced himself for impact. I sense a darkness... thoughts of betrayal and hate appear to surface when consumed by such power. A second too late he realized that he'd been cornered to defend will exposing his side for a counter-strike. If anyone were to see this battle in slow motion it would appear the dog demon rotated his body only enough in sync with Don Quixote moving to strike with the shield. A powerful blow suddenly rammed into InuTaisho's left side, throwing him right through a wooden wall of the nearest hut / house. Upon impact debris flew and scattered around the reckage.

The dog demon regained his bearings to find himself laying face down on the floor. Gasping to catch his breath he knew that blow had inflicted some damage. At his side laid the Tetsaiga, reverted back to its normal state. "I must -" mumbling through clenched fangs he summoned every bit of will-power to stagger back up onto his feet. Picking up Tetsaiga he moved to slip it back into Its sheath but stopped suddenly when a burning pain flared. A reminder to keep his focus on the fight and plan his next move. InuTaisho slowly put the fang sword away while strategizing some kind of plan. Those tentacles appear to be feeding some kind of energy into Don Quixote. And if that is a jewel shard embedded in his armor than it is increasing by ten folds... Would Kikyo know how to-? His thoughts were cut short at the knight's declaration of death to demons. How had there grown to be so much dark desire? First his mate wanting to rid the land of humans and now this!





A burst of light and power exploded within the hut / house, blowing it to bits as the dog demon emerged in his demonic form. A beastly howl cried out, challenging the knight and calling out to Kikyo. "Young priestess.. I require your service!" Hopeing the human girl would answer his plea he leapt forward from the debris. Charging at the knight he planned to duck and lunge with his fangs. Now it was time to see how quick his opponents' reflexes were.

Kagura looked at him before closing her eyes and being surrounded again in a glowing silver light. When she took on her more humanoid form once more. When she was situatated once more she smiled at him gently. "I would be honored to watch and protect your children my Lord" Kagura smiled as she watched him take off before she headed towards the children within the barrier. As she approached the barrier she watched as the barrier opened up to allow her passage before sealing behind her again. She walked up to the sword and gently removed it from the ground before returning it to her sheath. As she turned around she walked back to the kids she smiled at the children a fond smile on her face when she saw her daughter blushing and being held by the eldest Inu pup.

she could tell her daughter had acrush on the elder Inu son. She smiled as she gently walked over and knelt infront of Inuyasha. "Hi, my name is Kagura what is your name" She asked the little half demon with a smile on her face.

Mizuki smiled as she looked up at him with a smile. She smiled shyly at him as she turned even redder when he brushed his hand across her forehead and asked if she was running a fever. "Im alright Sesshomaru-kun I promise I am just happy your ok" She said with a smile trying to cover up the fact that she was emberassed or the fact that she found him really cute. She smiled as she watched her mother bend over Inuyasha. She smiled shyly before standing on her tip toes so she could reach his cheek and kissed his cheek softly before blushing redder and she grabbed his arm and led him to her Mother with a bright red look on her face as shhe looked at him over her shoulder.

By the time Kikyo saw the demons closing in on her, it was far too late to flee. In a matter of seconds, the knight jumped between her and the demons. Her orbs widened not at the demons but at the monstrous changes the knight was going through. He was turning into a demon?! How could that be?! Wait....now that she got a good look at him, there was a strange power coming from his neck of his armor, similar to the jewel she had shattered earlier but weaker in comparison. Realization that he had a fragment within his flesh dawned on her. It explained why his inner demon came out but was it also the cause of him turning into a demon?! She was glad that wrath wasn't directed towards her but towards other demons. He wouldn't turn on her would he? Kikyo reached for her bow and arrow just incase. This was bad. There were so many demons that she wasn't sure if she could protect herself and all the children with her. They didn't seem as experienced to combat as she was. Kikyo was afraid to call out to the knight, afraid he would direct his attention towards her. She didn't want to hurt him. He had already saved her life more than once. His personality shift really scared her. She already missed his kind yet blunt personality.

Relief seemed to wash over her when InuTaisho arrived, clashing his sword with the knights. For a moment, she was confused why InuTaisho would stop the knight from slaying the demons. Just who's side was he on?! His explanation soon made Kikyo realize the possibility. That jewel held such power?! Oh no! What had she done?! There were several shards scattered across the country because of her mistake! If it got into the wrong hands, the result would be disastrous. She also had to reverse the wish Chiyoko had made. It was the only way to get her parents and everybody else back.

“Don Quixote! He's right! You must stop this! You're under the same influence of the jewel! It's driving you mad! You must remove your armor at once! Please! Listen to what I say and believe it to be true!” Kikyo despearately called out, helplessly watching as the two battled each other. They didn't have time for this! “Fight the darkness in you! I know this isn't you!” She cried, wincing when she witnessed the sharp blow InuTaisho received causing him to smash into a nearby hut.

Her orbs widened in pure surprise when the Great Lord of the Western Lands was suddenly in need of her service. She wasn't even a full fledge priestess yet! What could she do?! The jewel was tainted, perhaps she could try and purify it. She was still inexperienced but it was worth a try. “Lord InuTaisho! Don't touch the shard, it will corrupt you too!” Kikyo worriedly called out, aiming her arrow right at Don Quixote. All she had to do was break the shard away from the knight while InuTaisho kept him distracted. Kikyo anxiously waited for the perfect time to shoot, not wishing to fatally hit either party. Once she believed she saw the moment, Kikyo released the arrow, praying it would knock the shard off the armor. She rarely missed but with so much going on, it was difficult to concentrate.


Inuyasha solemly watched Chiyoko fly away, his eyes soon drifting towards his father. He wanted to go and hug his father but that knight told him not to leave this barrier under any circumstances. The priestess had already ran off ahead of them but Inuyasha was far too busy glancing at his father, wondering if it was alright to follow after the priestess. Sesshomaru seemed at a loss what to do as well. Inuyasha wasn't much help towards his older brother, he just shifted his gaze over at father who was already running off in the direction Kikyo and the knight had ran off in.

Not long after Kikyo left the area and his father soon pursued, Inuyasha felt strange. His orbs widened as he felt this weird inner pulse. Things were slowly becoming a little hazy and surreal. His mind seemed to be drifting away no matter how hard he tried to shake it back to reality. Some woman had approached him but he wasn't completely aware of what she was saying. He was too busy fighting off this weird feeling. “Brother.....I feel really weird...I want father...” Inuyasha meekly admitted though he was hesitate to voice his feelings, he didn't want to be called a baby for the second time today. He was trying real hard to be more like Sesshomaru.

Pain emitted through his being as the pulse within him grew louder and louder. He was trying really hard not to let this feeling bother him but something was wrong. This feeling was new and it scared him. Fear was obvious in Inuyasha's orbs seconds as he swiftly covered his ears to stop himself from hearing the loud pulse that only he could hear. “Wahhhh!!!! MAKE IT STOP!” He cried out, the sound of bone shifting could be heard as a transformation soon took place. Marks that were similar to their father soon masked themselves on Inuyasha's cheeks, his orbs grew blood shot, his fangs and nails extended in size and even his ears shifted to change to match that of a full blooded inu. An eerie silence filled Inuyasha's aura after the transformation was complete. His stare showing nothing more but a savaged beast..

[Chaos Ensued]

Inutaisho's words and the priestess-in-training's words never registered in his mind, the knight's rage only furthering after that hit against Inutaisho's hit. The smell of battle had made some of the low-class youkai to approach, which fell victim to the knight's viciousness, with each victim slain by his sword the darkness that emanated from his body only seemed to grow. It didn't take long for him to clear the way from the few foolish who actually approached the raging knight. The explosion managed to catch Don's attention, the roar only made him growl at the lord. The pounce was powerful indeed as was the bite, but the knight did not took a step away and instead, confronted the incredible beast. Taking two of Inutaisho's fangs, the knight managed to stop the bite, but was easily pushed by the sheer mass of the lord, a deep line being formed where his feet had been.

A knight's strength relied not in his speed, but in his sheer strength, the opposite of the japanese samurai that relied on speed and quick kills. Still, this strength ended up also becoming his greatest weakness as now immobile, it would be easy for Kikyo to aim better. The arrow was shot, and as if the angels had heard the little girl's pleads, it struck right where the jewel was lodged in. Sparks flew as the arrow and the jewel bounced from the armor at the same time, and at the very same time, the youki that surrounded the man for the first time began to decrease as the human essence began to increase once again, the armor slowly returning to what it was. The sheer amount of energy that his body was put through ended up taking an immense told in the knight's body, forcing his body to shut down as he fell unconscious. Finally, the fight against the knight had ended, but many lives had already been taken by his blade...

Upon Kagura's return through the barrier, Sesshomaru peeked up wandering if she was either going to lecture him for hugging her daughter or whatever. Only the divine forces know why he wasn't in a hurry to let Mizuki out of his arms just yet. Beady golden eyes met that fond smile to make him realize that Kagura didn't seem to mind. Then watching as she approached Inuyasha he found his attention being drawn to the fe Inu pup once more. Mizuki's shy smile and affectionate use of his name seemed to peek his childlike curiosity. "Oh, alright. If you say then I shall take your word for it." Obviously his casual social skills needed a little work. Before he could breath another word Sesshomaru found Mizuki standing up on her tip toes. Wandering why she would do such a thing he tilted his head slightly, trying to figure out exactly what she was up to. Suddenly he felt the soft kiss upon his cheek. Taken completely by surprise he realized he was blushing lightly and stun speechless like before. It felt... nice? Words couldn't describe the instant. Instinctively his hand reached up to touch where Mizuki had kissed him.

Arm in hand Sesshomaru followed in step as the Inu fe pup brought him over to Kagura and Inuyasha. He was about to taunt the hanyou for whimpering like a baby when he suddenly noticed the demonic traits of his younger brother appearing. "I-Inuyasha?" A new feeling of fear slowly creeped down his spine. Wide eyes could only look on as this transformation occurred. How was this even possible?! He'd never seen Inuyasha like this before. Stepping toward the hanyou his own gaze peered into that of a savage beast. "P-Please Inuyasha, say something." He shuffled another step closer yet remained leery, keeping between the hanyou and Mizuki. "Kagura-san...?" he looked to the Inu fe hopeing to find an answer regarding all this madness.

"You don't scare me. I'm a full grown pup!"

Kagura felt her eyes widen as she watched Inuyasha take on more demonic features, and not that of a high demon like herself and her daughter and the Inu family but that of a low class demon. With a worried face she wrapped her arms around Inuyasha and closing her eyes hoping her ability to bind him would work. "Sesshomaru can you take Mizuki and stay back I do not know what Is wrong with your brother" Kagura closed her eyes focusing on her gift of healing from Fuchi-sama ad prayed she would be ble to return his sanity.

Kagura closed her eyes trying to center herself and find some way to regain inuyasha'ssanity without hurting him.

Before any demon could take advantage of the fallen jewel, Kikyo sprinted to retrieve it, having only getting to it first due to the demons fighting each other for it. It taint jewel glowed with darkness and Kikyo was a bit hesitant about touching it. No good has come from it so far. If she could no purify it, they would have to search for someone who could. Finding one of pure status was going to be difficult. Kikyo wasn't sure if there were any humans left and another question that lingered her mind was why was she still alright? Why was the knight still alright? What did they have that the others did not? Thinking against picking up the tainted jewel, Kikyo used her robe to pick it up, knowing she couldn't just leave it there. Not with all the demons fighting for it.

A startled expression fell on her face as the jewel slowly turned a pure white the moment she touched it. The elders always called her a prodigy priestess but other monks and priestess always begged to differ. Surely the monks and priestesses would know of her strength more than any elders. Why would such a powerful jewel purify with her touch when even the powerful monk they had ran into earlier could not contain such power? Was this only a temporarily thing?

Tucking the jewel fragment safely inside her robe, Kikyo glanced up to see the knight was now unconscious but at least InuTaisho was near him. The situation didn't look good. She didn't want to hurt any of the villangers, well the ones that had yet to be killed by the knight's blade. It wasn't his fault. He didn't know and he was possessed at the time. “Lord InuTaisho, we must retreat!” Kikyo urged, unable to reach InuTaisho at the moment since the creatures now surrounded her. They knew she had the jewel and right now she was their target.

“Food.” Inuyasha lowly hissed out, taking a vicious step towards Sesshomaru, starring at him with hungry eyes. The same way a hungry demon would stare at it's prey. His steps were soon halted the moment he felt arms embrace him. Confusion flickered in his orbs as she attempted to restrain him. Unfortunately, Kagura wasn't aware of the power of raw demon strength. It was then the scent of blood drifted through his nostrils and his attention was soon in the direction of the village. Blood, and plenty of it. With a burst of speed, Inuyasha broke free from Kagura's grasp and sprinted towards the scent of an injured human and demons. If it weren't for the strong smell of blood, he would haven't hesitated when it came to devouring his own brother.

Sure enough, the moment Inuyasha arrived at the village, his orbs absored the corspses before him. There was even an unconscious human and injured demon. Inuyasha hungrily licked his lips when he eyed the unconscious human. That was dinner waiting to happen! Bolting right towards the knight, Inuyasha made a mad pounce, his fangs clearly ready to dig into the piece of meat...

Kagura growled slightly as she turned to the only two children still with her "Follow me" before following after Inuyasha. When she caught up to him she pointed the children towards Inutaisho before grabbing inuyasha and allowing one of her healing strikes to slip through him hopefully knocking him unconscious. She sighed as she turned to face Inutaisho. "Well that Could have gone better. How do we fix this My Lord?"

Panting / gasping for breath InuTaisho moved by will-power alone to keep upright on his feet. Massive paws padded lightly across the ground as he seemed to be limping on his left side. From nearby he witnessed this one shard becoming purified the instant Kikyo touched it. Suddenly it was if the weaker demons nearby sensed this as well and came out of hiding. The human girl didn't' have to tell him twice about retreating. "A wise decision young priestess. I agree." Not wanting to kill any of the demons he slashed at them with his claws until he could reach Kikyo and the unconscious knight. Forgive me, brave knight, for I bared my fangs against you in battle... What happened next the dog demon never expected to see for there was Inuyasha but under the effects of demonic traits. My son... What happened to you?! Has the demon blood flowing through your veins finally awoke? His own son?! Had the demon blood flowing through the hanyou's veins overpowered his human side? Next was Kagura to appear. The Inu fe proved herself to be a fine caretaker as she managed to grab Inuyasha.

InuTaisho was hesitant to answer Kagura's question as he himself wasn't to sure how they would be able to fix any of this. "It started with that jewel... So we shall set things right with it as well." Biting back a painful twinge he lowered his upper body to the ground. Surrounding them the weaker demons seemed anxious to strike. "We must leave this place for now, like our young priestess said."

Obeying Kagura's request, Sesshomaru tried to keep Mizuki safely back. Yet if the Inu fe pup choose not to comply with her mother's wishes then there wouldn't be much more he could do. Unable to even imagine what just happened to Inuyasha he snapped back to reality when Kagura commanded he and Mizuki to follow her. "Coming Kagura-san-" the older Inu sibling quickly replied as she took off after Inuyasha. I... I cannot be afraid... I must be strong.. he silently tried to affirm himself. Though try as he might he needed a little encouragement to take a step forward. Luckily for the Inu fe pup Sesshomaru seemed to stick by her side like a protective dog demon.

Clawed fingertips reached out from under his long sleeves, wanting to see if Mizuki still had a hold of his arm or not. The bottled up emotions flowing through his body seemed to make his hands shake despite the proud, collected composure Sesshomaru tried to display. "Shall we go? They will be waiting for us..." golden eyes looked back to Mizuki.

Kikyo worriedly watched InuTaisho make his way towards them. He was severly injured and she didn't know how much longer he could last. Before they could retreat, Inuyasha showed up, pouncing to devour the unconscious knight but was soon stopped by Kagura. Startled orbs stared at Inuyasha. What had happened to him?! He was fine when she left. What could have happened in such a short amount of time? “No good as come from the jewel since we've come in contact with it so I question if it could do any good at all. We know next to nothing of it. Maybe if we can learn the history or a little about it, we'll understand a bit more of what we are dealing with. There's bound to be information on it out there somewhere. We also need to find a place to rest. Don Quixto is unconscious and you're severely injured Lord InuTaisho. Your son is also not himself. Kagura, do you suppose you can transform into your demon form and fly us out of here?” Kikyo inquired, knowing InuTaisho was in no condition to fly them all out to safety.

Inuyasha hissed in irritation when he was grabbed seconds before he could devour his meal. He violently squirmed and struggled for his freedom, viciously snapping his jaws at the woman who dare stop him. There were two humans and plenty of injured demons just waiting for him to devour. Suddenly his movements became sluggish and his squirms less. His eyelids felt extremely heavy and Inuyasha felt himself slowly drifting off but viciously shook his head to fight the urge to sleep. He was far too stubborn to allow himself to fall asleep now. Using much of the strength he had left, Inuyasha attempted to dig his teeth into the woman that held him or claw at anyone that got too close to him...

Kagura yelped when Inuyasha bit her before she gently removed his fangs after he fell asleep before turning to Inutaisho. "I have never seen anything like this before, the only time a Hanyou's demon blood takes control is when they are in danger, someone they consider precious like their mate or pups are in danger and rarely if their sibling is in danger normaly seen between twins or the older sibling when somthing happens to the younger. I have never seen this before I am unsure where to even start trying to fix it" Kagura looked at him with a worried expression on her face.

Kagura turned when she was asked if she could transform. "I can but I can sttempt to heal you My lord if that is your wish?"

Mizuki turned to face Sesshomaru with a slightly scared look as she grasped his hand tightly as she followed her mother. "What do you think is wrong with Inuyasha, I hve never seena Half Demon act like that before. was it somthing I said?" She asked really quietly a sad look on her face as she looked around them wondering what was wrong and how to fix it. She was quite content to stay right next to Sesshomaru even if her mother had not told her to stay with him she would because she knew he would protect her if he could. Plus she enjoyed getting to know him, he also made her feel like she was important to him somthing no one but her mother had ever done. She smiled slightly even though she looked scared at the prospect of Inuyasha being hurt.
