TabAfter the input of the group, and the Geth's questioning her about what course of action should be taken her body seemed to twist nervously. Her mouth feelers seemed to desire to anxiously move but were dull by the cold, her tentacles themselves still out at their glorious twenty full feet of length as though ready for an attack, one that was still at least ten minutes out from them. Honestly, the Romus was closer than the Beagle itself, and that was her real mission... she'd been side tracked so much she'd feel like she were useless to the captain if she didn't visit the ship. However, greater than that was the understanding that the lives of the few survivors must be saved. Besides, according to them the ship itself would be beyond salvageable... something she'd still like to see but at the moment there were more pressing matters.
TabShe slowly began to move back in the direction she came. "We must hurry back to her! The Beagle may be in danger." In all honesty, she wasn't worried about the ship in the same way that she would have been for the Romus. It was a mobile fortress in its own right and kept manned at all corners but small workers. Still, better safe than sorry and the air sang songs that fed her anxiety... the Hopteron's long-heard echo felt as though a bad omen being woven in the midst of the constant light blizzard. In all honesty, she wanted to run full speed but at the moment her movements were dulled and the best she could come up with was a brisk walk that the others could easily keep up with. "It might be best to get back in to the sky for now."
A small time passes, the distance between the pod and the Beagle not unreasonable, but exaggerated by the blizzard and cold.
TabThey were still a minute or so off when a new wave of panic began to run through her, and her speed slowly increased beyond what should have been capable to her. Calling back to the others to pick up their pace as well, in the distance now visible was a small army of Hopteron, about thirty in numbers, coming from all directions. Black dots easy to spot on the white backgrounds but difficult to make out in the snowy wind. "The songs of my children tending to the main battery of the ship have gone silent! We... I should be able to hear them by now!" Her voice filled with worry, because now a whole slew of problems began to arise. The fact that she couldn't hear them through the rest of the Rachni coursing throughout the ship was implying that either they abandoned their posts The chance of that with workers being far less than 1% or something caused them to lose their voice. That the Rachni workers watching over the main battery of the ship in a situation such as this would disappear and the discussion of sabotage earlier... Clearly the admiral of the fifth fleet wouldn't have chosen suspicious staff... but then again, the Romus itself wasn't exactly working outside of the Council's guidance...
TabAt long last, her hard legs clicked against the metal. She wanted to take a moment of peace to revel in the wondrous sound but knew there were more pressing matters. Her voice rose and her cry rang throughout the ship. A song untranslatable, but one that seemed to pierce through even some of the more sound-proof walls. Her body warmed as she barreled through the halls of the ship, heading for level two and leaving behind the other three. Staff pushed themselves out of the way, her only comment was to tell them to send word to the bridge, and to security to get to the main battery as soon as possible, if possible get the ship ready to take flight. If her worry was on target then they would be better in orbit than now.
Outside turrets that finally became live began pouring bullets in to the white expanse, the Hopteron charged even though there were so few of them and they seemed to drop like flies. One of the large cannon batteries fully warmed up turned, aimed at a large group, and as though the loud roar of the huge gun was the trigger the entire ship went dark. Hallways lights, monitors, and guiding information on the main weapons went offline for a full thirty seconds before a dim red light began to fill the halls and the rest of the machinery began to grind away again. The turret fire continued but not failed miserably to target the small black outlines that were less than a minute from invading the ship, because its targeting systems had been shut down and all of the emergency backup power was being directed to life-support systems. The ship had effectively also been grounded because of the lack of energy. Someone had ultimately destroyed major wiring in the main battery of the ship as well as killing Rachni, engineers, and anyone else that might have noticed something amiss leaving nothing but a blood bath of mixed races with no visible culprit.
TabMaki wasn't alone by the time she got there, her cries now translating, "No, no! No!" She repeated, as though using the word meant that whatever was happening wasn't actually happening. A few medics worked to carry out bodies, checking pulses, a couple Rachni soldiers that heard the queen's cries and had begun helping move the workers while others scurried across the ship looking for any other possible dangers. She didn't have many soldiers because they were impractical to her, but she did know at least five were at the drive core protecting it from the same fate. The amount of damage here... it was fixable, anything more and the culprit couldn't have slipped out doing it but anything less wouldn't have her as worried as she was right now. Actually, the fact that they did so much damage, killed so many, and made it away where her noticing the worker's silence was the first implication of danger was impressive. The few engineers that were in the room offered almost a sort of admiration for the work of the unknown terrorist, they had known exactly what to hit to make it devastating. Listing off a few of the necessary things to make the repairs her arms and tentacles began to work, "Hurry, bring us the necessary materials!"
