                                                • The flash of the headlights were blinding, and the blaring of the horn had him fearing for his ability to hear in the foreseeable future. Still, he managed to get out of the way of the car and out of the road rather unscathed, the knees of his jeans scuffed and his hair ruffled. It was dark out, the stars and lampposts lighting his way and sky had just stopped its rainfall. That rain had truly been a setback. Akatsuki had been forced to take shelter under the awning of a restaurant for over a half hour. Still, even he couldn’t bring himself to complain about such a minor thing. Even at night, the world around him always held wonder. He had never been caught before, and he thought that was part of the exhilaration. The elders had done everything in their power to shut the young God away from the rest of the world, to get him under their heel and obey.

It was a horrible game Akatsuki had played his whole life and sometimes, they did manage to reign him in. But he always broke free. He wondered if they honestly believed he had never set foot outside of the estate. They were fools, to be sure, but that foolish? Well, he had shrugged. What could they possibly do to him? What hadn’t they already done? They had tried subduing him with medicine, with blackmail. There was even a time they had resorted to using physical violence against him, but they had found this only made things worse. They couldn’t even threaten taking away his position as the Head. Not only did such a title not matter to him, but the only person they could replace him with would be his sister, Rin, and even the elders understood that this would be a mistake, that she would be worse than he.

Aka laid back against the concrete curb he had landed on trying to avoid the car that, dammit, had come out of literally nowhere. The driver must have been drunk. Rainwater fell down his hair, and onto his thin jacket. As he picked himself up, he shoved his bruised and scuffed hands into his pockets, pulling out some red bean mochi he had purchased earlier and saved. As he walked, he wondered. What would it be like to just leave? To go anywhere, do anything? He knew this thought had crossed the minds of nearly every Zodiac that had never had such a chance, trapped as they were within the Miyamoto estate. Growing up, some of the older, more respectful members of the family told him of a time when things were supposedly different. There was a time when there was no such thing as a “keeper”, the elders did not have the control they did now. What had that time been like? Had the Juunishi of those generations been happier? Akatsuki hoped so, for that was a time he fully intended to bring back.

At that moment, another car zoomed past him, causing water to rush up from the street to meet him. He turned so most of the water hit him in the side, protecting his mochi. Grumbling a little, he stuffed the rest of the treat into his mouth before wiping his hands on his jeans, and then he took off running. He had traveled this particular path many times. Always at night, always. He knew the layout by heart now, and had no use for streetlamps, making traversing the alleyways and unlit roads simple enough. Every once in a while he would scare a stray animal, but that hardly concerned him. He leapt over a fence and his feet pounded on the grass. There was no better feeling than this he was sure, as he thought his heart might burst.

He supposed he had been lucky. Akatsuki had heard that in generations prior, every God had been born with some debilitating illness that affected them from birth to death. Aka had never experienced such a sickness, well, no more than a normal healthy boy would. But he was just lucky. Otherwise, he would not be able to do this, to give himself a small taste of what freedom could be like. He desired to be free, almost so much that it hurt. But, in the back of his mind, he knew he feared it. For he knew there could be no true freedom as long as the Curse remained, and that’s what scared him most of all. Losing his Zodiac would kill him. They were his everything.

He ran faster to shake the thoughts from his head. There was a high wall made of slick wood that surrounded the Miyamoto property. It had taken him months to discover it, but there was a way to scale the wall, to be up and over in seconds. In the wet darkness, climbing it proved a challenge. As he swung his leg over the top and let himself fall, his stomach plunged, and it wasn’t because of the fall. This was always the worst part- willingly bringing himself back to this prison, this hellscape. Back on Miyamoto property, his feet felt heavier. He jogged now, his footfalls lighter. He was a ways from the area where the family slept, but he never took chances, not on the estate. He could see a little bit easier now, the sky was beginning to glow light, a signal that the sun was only just beginning to rise, but everything was still cast over in shadow.

He made his way towards the garden, to the side of the house where the room he shared with Chouko was located, and the door there that he always used as his exit whenever he planned to sneak out of the house, but stopped short. Something was wrong, and he immediately saw what. The door was open. He had shut it when he left. He always did. Aka’s eyes narrowed. This in and of itself was no need for alarm, but he was wary now. He stepped closer to the door, considering for a moment to turn around and find another way into the estate, and he immediately berated himself. This was pathetic, having to sneak into and out of his own damn home as though he were a criminal. His pride was easily getting the better of him, but he turned his head to look over his shoulder one more time, and what he saw made him scowl. There was a person standing behind him. Aka’s hand clenched into a fist. He didn’t need to guess to know who it was.

Uemki was allowed outside of the estate. It was just to be during the day and they generally wanted someone with her, to watch her. At night was a big no-no. It had been a rough night the night before. Umeki was one of the most watched in the house, due to her black side and the fact that she liked to escape and roam around the city at night. The elders always kept a close eye on her and that's just what they did earlier in the night. Umeki had tried to make an escape, just to get a sense of freedom. To not feel like a prisoner in a place that should feel somewhat like a home. She had gone outside and into the yards of the estate, but the elders were already there waiting for her. There were two of the elders and two of the houses keepers. Umeki tried to get away from them, more specifically another direction to get over the large fence around the estate. Unfortunately, the two house keepers had caught her. They were there for the muscle. Umeki had gone black, but only after they had shoved her to the ground and tied up her hands. There was nothing she could do. "You should know the error of your ways by now, child." Umeki spat in his face and laughed; manically to be exact. The last thing she remembered was something hitting her head.

                                                                        - - - - - - - - -

A few hours later, just when the sun was rising, Umeki had begun to come out of it. The elders had knocked her out, as she was disrespectful and they assumed she would somehow break from her shitty, rope handcuffs. They had taken her to her room after catching her. Umeki's eyes gently fluttered open, her head aching slightly from being hit. Generally they didn't knock her out, but Umeki assumed they were getting tired of fighting with her and such. The woman sat up as she held her head and looked around her room, the memories of a few hours before flooding back. Her facial expression calm, "Assholes." The woman stood, stretching as she did so. Mark another day in this hell on her invisible calender.

Umeki had changed out of her previous clothes and into something new; short leather skirt, sweater and some leather boots. She had fixed her hair in her mirror, making sure it wasn't too unruly. All fixed up, she decided to head out to the kitchen to get something to drink. She wasn't quite hungry yet, so a drink would do. As she made her way out of her room, she closed her door behind her. But, her hand had touched something she thought wasn't there. Turning around, her eyes caught sight of about six different locks on her door. Locks had always been on her door since she was twenty years old, because of her accident and the elders had always kept them on in case of emergencies. However, Umeki constantly smashes them off; she's done it dozens of time. It seemed the elders had put the locks back on when she was knocked out. No big deal, she would just smash them off again. The elders sure did need to learn to get stronger locks.

No one else seemed to be awake at this hour, or they at least had not left their room yet. Not even any of the house keepers were up and about. It only took a moment to make it all the way to the kitchen so Umeki could fetch herself a drink. What she wanted, she already knew and so would most in the house. Umeki wanted tea and damn it she would have it. If it wasn't tea, then it was water. The girl didn't care for fruit drinks and really didn't care for soda, but, she loved her tea.

It only took a few minutes for the tea to be ready. Put some tea in the pot and fill the pot with water and let it heat up on the stove. In a few minutes, Umeki was holding a good sized cup of tea and sipping on it, making her way through the house again. The woman wanted to go outside, but as she looked through the windows in the large family room, she could see it raining. How disappointing. She stood near a window in the room and looked outside the window and watched it rain, enjoying the peace and quiet that surrounded her and enjoying her tea as well.

The rain tickled her face as she walked in the garden. Ai liked the rain; it was calming and peaceful, not to mention it was one of the things that nurtured plant life. Bare feet pattered along the grass, and her eyes strained to see the sweet flowers in the shadows of early morning. Ai closed her eyes and tilted her head up towards the cool rain. Her brown hair stuck her her face and neck, and her pink pajamas were soaked with chilly precipitation. There was a sense of stillness and serenity within Ai, which was something she rarely felt anymore. Her eyes opened and wandered to the gate of the Miyamoto estate, which was only a few yards away. Though seemingly harmless, the gate was a bold symbol of capture and confinement. Ai had been outside the gate many times to go to school, but since graduation she hadn't found an excuse to wander outside once more.

"I wonder if it's raining out there too."

As soon as she said it, she giggled. Of course it was raining outside the gate; it was raining everywhere. It was only in her heart that there was a sense of separation between the world and the estate. Ai's soft and girlish giggles soon turned into an inaudible and guilty sigh. She looked at her feet, and then looked back to the gate with a forced smile. She was just thinking too much. Maybe it was the fact that she was sleep deprived, or the chill she felt from the rain. Ai shook her head, and ran her fingers through her long brown locks. It was almost morning already, and she hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. The walk through the garden was supposed to help relax her, but it had the opposite effect. Ai sighed again softly; she seemed to sigh a lot now days when she was alone.

Achoo! She sniffled and wiped her nose with her wet sleeve. Yasu wouldn't be happy if she got sick from another one of her late night/early morning garden walks. Ai curled her toes against the muddy grass. I should go back home. Another small sigh, and then another smile. Small shards of light were beginning to break through the colorless sky, and she could faintly see the colors of the garden come to life. She could see dimly the red of the roses just a few feet from her. A genuine smile crept onto her face, and Ai gravitated toward the flowers. The petals almost looked surreal in the rain, and the plant quivered a little. Her hands outstretched, and she reached for the delicate flower.

                                  "Ow."

Ai's finger dripped a color that matched the rose. The flower's thorns stood straight, as if to tell her that she could not take their beloved flower. A sense of familiarity washed over her; something precious being kept from the world by force. Ai shook her head again; she was thinking too much. She thought too much about things these days. She pressed her bloody finger to the end of her shirt to stop the bleeding, and wished that she hadn't come to the garden. The silence and the fresh air always made her think too much, and then it made her sad. Ai laughed loudly, as if false laughter would cheer her up. It had to, there was no time in life to be sad over thoughts that were caused by lack of sleep and gloomy rain.

The rain started to slow down, and Ai decided that she should go back home to wake her brother up. She walked slowly, carefully inhaling the crisp air mixed with rain. She yawned, and giggled. Of course she would decide to be tired after it was almost time for the rest of the world to wake up. Ai looked at her finger as she walked; the blood hadn't stopped, and it formed in a small ball on her finger like a rosebud.

Even though the sun had not yet risen, Chiasa was already making her bed. It was an old habit that she couldn't shake. The rat never had a good nights sleep, and especially last night with the all the rain. She liked to sit on her windowsill and stare out at the water droplets. It was simply mesmerizing.

But, morning had come fast, the sun was rising in her window as she put the final pillows onto her bed. Her feet carried her to the windowsill to watch the sunrise, when her eye caught a certain rabbit playing about in the garden. It wasn't the first time she had noticed her walking about the estate at early hours in the morning. Although it didn't concern her any, a part of her made her stay and watch until Ai left the sight line. Chiasa let out a huge sigh as her eyes wandered over to the gates. They can't keep us here forever She reassured herself, standing up from the windowsill and smoothing out her dress. Today's outfit was a simple pink sundress that went to her knees. Her hair was braided to the side and pulled to the front of her body. Vanity was a trait Chi never tangled with. Only fools care more about their appearance than their mind.

The rat opened her door quietly, not to wake anyone else around her. Last thing she needed was someone to come out and tag along with her. She needed some tea and some cookies to satisfy her grumbling stomach. The kitchen wasn't too far away, and hopefully no one was up yet. Besides, Ai, of course. The light was already on in the kitchen, and she could hear someone in their already, using the teapot. Umeki. Chiasa walked into the kitchen from another doorway, right as she saw Umeki leaving. Her eyes squared in on the teapot, which was still hot. That saved her some time for having to wait.

Opening up some cupboards, the rat grabbed her red mug and poured some sugar and milk into it before adding the hot tea. It's how she had her breakfast every morning. There is nothing wrong with some things never having to change, and her morning routine was one of them. After she finished her cookies, she poured more tea into her mug and left the kitchen, in destination of Kouji's room. She believed it was time for him to get up anyways, no use in wasting all day sleeping.

Chiasa didn't knock, but she should have. The door opened wide and she saw another woman in Kouji's bed. How he found all these woman to sleep with him was beyond her, but clearly he was awake and busy. Her head bowed in apology. This is why you knock before you enter ones room, especially Kouji's. The door shut quietly behind her as she made her way down the hall. Maybe Rin was awake and had nothing to do/was with no one. And if she was, Chiasa had planned on just going out to the garden like she had seen Ai just hours earlier.

xxx The room was dark, barely illuminated by the numbers on a table side clock. A chill swept in from the slightly cracked window, brushing lightly along a pile of blankets that seemed to have been thrown haphazardly on the bed. The smell of freshly wet grass drifted in, dancing in the same direction as the breeze. Said pile of blankets began to tremble softly, the shaking growing in intensity until the being underneath them all slowly pushed herself to her haunches and let them tumble down over her back to reveal pale skin and long white hair. The woman attached to the strange appearance looked around the room blearily, barely registering the white walls and the cold air. She looked dazed and confused, and still very tired. When her gaze finally rested on the open window she merely stared at it, until the sound of rain tapping on the glass reached her ears. "It's raining." she mumbled, the sound barely audible in the quiet room. She didn't like the rain, it made her tired. Lethargic. It messed with her body. Groaning she slowly laid herself back down, not bothering to cover herself again. Her body and mind were slow, too slow to care about the chill ghosting over her skin.

Sighing softly the young lady rolled herself onto her back, closing her blue eyes to enjoy the lingering haze of sleep for just a moment longer. It didn't last, as sleep slipped away faster now that she had already opened her eyes, and she found herself opening them again against her will. She could never fall back asleep after waking up the first time, even if her body felt drained. Shaking her head she forced herself to scoot to the edge of the bed, swinging her legs over when her arms could find no more mattress to rest on. Bare feet touched the cold, hard wood floor and she shivered for a moment before pushing herself to her feet. She padded lightly over to the closet attached to her room so as not to wake the other occupants of the house. No need to wake up some of the less pleasant household members. Coming up to the closet she quietly slid the sliding door open just long enough to chose one of her more extravagant black dresses before closing it once more. It didn't take her long to slip from the nightgown she had gone to sleep in and step into the dress she had chosen. Her long hair dangled playfully as she moved it to one side so she could tie the black straps behind her neck. She decided to forgo the elbow length sleeves that went with the dress, and instead chose to tie a loose black bow into her hair after a quick brushing.

xxx She felt drained of energy as she recited the 'bunny loop' method to tying a bow and let the loops droop lightly against her head. The pitter patter of rain drew her attention to the window. Her footsteps were quiet as she moved over to shut the window, stopping only for a moment as movement just to the left caught her attention. Ai was wandering in the garden again. That girl was going to catch a cold. Shaking her head she ignored the other in favor of shutting the window. It was too cold out there. Feeling the air warm up just from that action alone, the woman let out a sigh of relief before turning to head for the door to her room. Leaving her shoes behind, she stepped out into the hallway and made her way towards the stairs. She wondered silently if there would be anyone else awake at this time of day, after all she wasn't sure why she was up this early herself. Normally she would sleep until the sun came up, and on days like these she would usually be out of commission for hours. But something had woken her up, and now here she was silently moving into the kitchen. Someone had been there before, if the used tea kettle was any sort of clue. She left it be for now, choosing instead to look for some milk inside the large refrigerator. After searching for a few minutes she was unhappy to discover that they were out of milk, and she shut the door in defeat.

xxx Her stomach grumbled at her lightly, and she realized that she had skipped last nights dinner after a particularly bad run in with some normal family members. It had take away her appetite last night, and she was feeling the repercussions for it now. Feeling the hunger in her belly, Hotaru began to search through the cupboards for something edible. A lot of the supplies weren't to her liking, and she completely ignored the bananas sitting on the table. Eventually she settled down with a box of strawberry flavored poptarts, putting them into the toaster and pushing down the button. She didn't remember why they had them, but they would have to do for now. She spent the next minute or so putting the box away and pulling out a small saucer for her poptarts. Another two minutes were spent just sitting there staring at the toaster and waiting for it to pop. You'd think she would be prepared for it, but when the sweet treat did pop out she jumped all the same. Not wanting to spend too much time in one spot, she gently put her breakfast on her saucer and quietly padded out of the kitchen. She mindlessly wandered for some time, letting her feet take her where they wanted to go. Eventually she ended up at the front door of the house, head tilted slightly to the side at it curiously. She didn't know why she had wandered here, nor did she want to venture out into the cold, wet morning, but she was there and she would make the best of it. Besides, no one else seemed to be up and about. With that thought in mind she took a seat on the ground, just beside the door to the left, and listened to the rain as she ate.

User ImageSometimes, Kouyou mused what he wouldn’t give to be able to slip into his zodiac form at will; everything outside was perfect. The cool air, the slow, steady onslaught of rain, the stillness that comes just before dawn breaks; it was all the tiger could have asked for in a morning. The only thing that would have made it better would be to run on four legs instead of two, with the water trailing down his fur as he roared to announce the new day to his captors. (Maybe he could shock them into cardiac arrest or something one of these days; wouldn't that be nice? They sure as hell deserved it.) Yes, that roar. His voice wasn’t perfect, but his roar was divine. Nothing could match that raw intensity, and no words he ever wrote really captured it.

He tried to again, just before he went out for his run. But the paper lay crumpled on the floor, another wasted effort of his time and ink to join the growing pile. It was kind of ironic that even the things that were supposed to calm him down were doing nothing but frustrating him anymore. Even his journal was rapidly filling with scribbles and gashes, like his claws had overtaken his pen. Maybe they had.

He didn’t have control over much, and even his control over his curse turned blessing was limited to the people around him. But at least no one could tell him when to run. So he did. He had cast his shirt aside, thrown on a pair of shorts, and bare-footed, he just started running across the estate. It was as close as he could get to the form he wanted, so like he had always had to do, he improvised. He could always take a shower later, and he didn’t stay cold for long. He tackled the run like he tackled everything else in life, head-on and with everything he had. (In other words, recklessly.) After another sleepless night, running himself down didn’t sound like such a bad idea; he craved the burn that would come from pushing his body just a little too hard. Maybe if he pushed hard enough, he’d slip into his tiger form anyway.

It was easier said than done. No matter how much he struggled internally, Kouyou was nothing if not in shape. Even if he slipped and slid in the mud, he carried himself easily across the estate, the rain cooling him and washing any trace of sweat away, his hair clinging to his face as he savored the scent of the rain. Did it smell the same in England? He’d have to mail his mother and ask her sometime...

OOC: Swear I'll do more work on the post format for the next one, sorry guys! I just wanted to get something out while I could! heart He's somewhere outside on the estate grounds!

His gaze narrowed as the harsh words echoed into nothingness as the dank room grew silent. "Poison?" More echoing. More silence. The elders looked between each other. Yasu Miyamoto never thought of it much, but whenever he had these secret meetings with the oldest members of the prestigious family, the scene often mimicked something out of a mafia movie. They all sat in a line, decked out in traditional garb, as always. The lanky male usually sat opposite of them in vastly contrasting clothing and a blank stare on his face. The oldest woman was the first to speak, she was near and dear to Yasu's heart, the one who first determined he was fit to be the zodiac's keeper. She changed his life. "No... More of... an opiate, dear Yasu," His brow furrowed. If he was able to think for himself, if he had the gall or the faith to voice an opinion that was his own in the presence of the stately elders, Yasu would have disagreed, retorted... But this was it. The elders had spoken, and so it shall be done. They were the ones who knew what was best for the zodiac anyway. They were the ones that he had to trust to ensure the safety of his beloved family. He was just a knight, a pawn, and he knew it. Lanky limbs straightened, pulling a long torso up from the ground. A hand ran through white locks as green eyes closed and hid themselves in a respectful bow.

It had been dark for a while, but Yasu was sure he still had enough time to make it back home before bedtime. Yes, the thirty-year-old man had a bedtime, but if eight hours of sleep every night was required, he had to plan carefully. As the male padded back towards the home he shared with his precious sister, the sharp word that seemed to be the focus of that meeting bounced around his mind. Of course he already had an idea of how he would do it. The act of it would be more than simple. Hell, he didn't even like the guy but still, it seemed a bit excessive. "Whatever it takes..." a harsh whisper pushed past tight lips, as if spoken word would convince him everything did indeed make sense. But it didn't help. His mind was in a blur, he wasn't himself. All he could think about was turning the front doorknob and instinctively calling for his sister before starting to prepare himself for a solid slumber.

                                                        User Image

"Yasu-sama?" Eyes cracked open. It was not morning yet. It had not been eight hours. A grumble and grunt came from beneath dark colored sheets in an equally dark room. The only light emitted forth from the crack in the door as a small maid poked her head into the cave. "Are you awake? There's been a disturbance. You told me to tell you and I--" A grimacing face was suddenly illuminated by the sliver of light as Yasu curved his back so his face was inches from the young workers, "I know what I told you." A yelp left the girls lips as she pushed herself backwards and landed hard on the floor. Sighing, Yasu straightened up and pulled a pair of fitted dark-wash jeans over his boxer briefs. Then, opening the door wider, he stepped out into the light with a defeated face-scrunch. Have the hallway lights always been this damn bright? Yasu stuck out his hand towards the maid, but without waiting for her to accept his offer to help, he grabbed her forearm and hoisted her up onto her feet. "Tell me what you know."

The blank stare Yasu usually let fall on his face meant nothing to him. No secrets, no hidden expectations. At this point, his emotion state was a clean slate. However, to a fifteen year old girl, the piercing green orbs and naturally strong jaw meant she couldn't find it in herself to speak, more or less try to form a sentence. "Well then," Yasu persisted, still slightly annoyed at the disturbance. "M-m-m-mister... Um... S-s-senpa... I mean... A-a-a-a-ak-ak-aka--" The poor girl didn't even have to finish her failed attempt at comprehensible words before Yasu had pushed past her and out of his home, headed straight towards the main home of the estate. It was early enough that no one was out and about in the estate, but the sun had started to peak over the regal buildings. Yasu knew better than to enter the ever-superior God of the Zodiac's room, but if he was gone, Yasu had to make sure. And if Chou was sleeping, she might understand. She was his friend or something anyway. The garden just outside the young Jade Emperor's private room was as peaceful as ever. Elegant paper doors stood undisturbed as light feet padded up onto the deck. Yasu only knocked once, very softly and very quickly. After two seconds with no answer, the still-groggy-eyed male reached for the edge of the door and slid it open. His eyes only went to Akatsuki's sleeping space, not wanting to be distracted by the rest of the room or Chou. He was only awake at this godforsaken hour for one reason, and that was the absence of the beloved God from his subscribed place for this certain time of night.

Yasu didn't have time to be angry, or annoyed even. Light footsteps caught his attention and even though they were approaching steadily, Yasu had already determined just who they belonged to. Pressing his fingers to his brows, Yasu rubbed them in a circle once and pushed them towards his temples. This morning was already proving to be unnecessary. Slinking into the shadows of one of the trees in the garden, Yasu waited patiently. It wasn't easy hiding his white locks in the darkness, but practice proved to be profitable and Akatsuki didn't even notice him as he paraded himself up to his open (stupid) door. As Aka screeched to a halt, Yasu almost laughed out loud. So the big oaf wasn't as dumb as he looked. He had figured out something was out of place. Sure, Yasu had left the door open, but that didn't matter now. The God couldn't even run if he wanted to. A rare grin played on Yasu's lips as he stepped out from his hiding spot and neared Akatsuki, "Don't you think it's awfully late for a young, distinguished gentleman like yourself to be arriving home, Aka-chan?"

Fury started to grow in the back of his throat. It was just one thing after the other. The God had a duty to this family, and Yasu had a duty to this God. When the head of an extremely delicate and precious operation is out flouncing around town at all hours of the night, Yasu job gets a lot harder. And when that happens, the safety and lives of the zodiac are more likely to decline. All of these factors pushed to the front of Yasu's mind as he glared at Akatsuki, scanning his stupid body for any injuries or evidence of where he had been the whole night. And really, the whole "not enough sleep" thing played a big role in his current level of anger as well. Now Yasu could have handled this as he usually did, with rational thought and careful words. Perhaps a simple request to consider one's safety and maybe a report to the elders. But this wasn't his first day at the rodeo with Akatsuki. He wasn't about to let him off easy. "People might get the wrong idea if they find out you're a night walker nowadays. A little boy as pretty as you could easily pass for some sort of profitable candy for the lonely late-night crowd," The insults may have been harsh, but honestly Yasu and Aka have been on worse terms. "Now did you walk home or did someone give you a ride?"

Though it was a routine for Cheiko to get up in the morning for her daily jog, for some reason she woke up earlier than usual today. It might have the rain tapping on her window telling her to wake up, but her guess was that it was probably the uncomfortably sticky glittery goop from the crafts the day before smeared all over her face and on her pillow that did it. She didn’t know how the glitter got there exactly, but she distinctly remembered the triumph she had felt after she had slipped the tube (brand new!! Thanks to Roku) into her pocket and told the Rabbit and the Dog that she would be going to bed early. Oh, that’s it, she had thought, recalling that instead of sleeping early, she had chosen to admire the glitter with the cap off. She couldn’t have resisted—the bottle was new! But between making sure Kisei and Chiasa and Eri took their meds and keeping an eye on Kouyou and checking on Roku’s field injuries and making the perfect tea for Chouko/Umeki and running some ideas by Toshi and Aka (all of which were shut down, because Cheiko was too creative for the Monkey and God) and cuddling with Ai and scolding Kouji and asking Cas for stories and avoiding Hotaru, Cheiko was drained and had probably fallen asleep as soon as she hit the mattress. All in the typical day in the life of the Miyamoto doctor.

”And I’m not even paid,” she sighed to herself, tossing the open glitter tube into her ‘shiny stuff’ corner of the room. Eyes half-closed, Cheiko patted the bed to see if she could feel for the cap, but it was nowhere to be found. Ugh, that would be a literal pain to sleep on later. She stared for a brief moment at her pillowcase, where half of the contents of the glitter bottle had emptied out, the other half of the bottle on her face and halfway dry. Bah, I’ll clean that up when I come back. She shuffled across the hall into the bathroom and splashed water on her face, scrubbing until her skin was red. And though there were still stray sparkles here and there, she pretended that they weren’t there in favor of brushing her teeth, putting nicotine patches on Toshi and Roku's toothbrushes, and changing into her running gear. Judging by the clouds in the sky, it would rain for a while longer so Cheiko took a light jacket on her way out the door for good measure.

When Cheiko ran, she didn’t need to bring a music player because she had her own thoughts to entertain. Sometimes she ran into Kouyou and they would engage in conversation, but she honestly enjoyed running alone just as much. Her morning jog was the one time in the day where she could daydream without multitasking, and daydream she did; she fantasized about opening her own clinic, about being in a relationship with a tall, strong man or woman (she didn't really care either way), and about kicking Yasu where it hurt most. Realistically, the first two fantasies weren’t very possible with the Miyamoto curse, so the third fantasy made her feel better.

The sky had lightened considerably by the time Cheiko had finished her usual rounds around the estate, but the rain was refreshing and the cold morning air was invigorating. She probably would have gone for another lap if she hadn’t spotted a head of long, sandy hair bobbing around amongst the garden. Ai? Cheiko blinked, and squinted. That lightfooted, dance-like gait could only belong to the Rabbit Juunishi, and the Dragon sighed. “Please tell me she’s at least wearing shoes,” Cheiko mumbled to herself, but as she jogged closer it was confirmed that the little girl was indeed barefoot. The garden was quite large and healthy green grass sprouted everywhere that bright flowers didn’t, and Ai’s small form made for a picture perfect scene as she started heading back towards the house. Too bad Cheiko was going to ruin all of that.

“What did I tell you about wearing a jacket? Are you trying to make me worry about you?” Cheiko teased once she got close to the brunette. She then slipped her jacket off and plopped the hood on the Rabbit’s head, and affectionately wrapped her arms around Ai’s neck in a hug. “Good morning to you too!” she laughed, kissing the top of her head. Cheiko ended up getting a mouthful of rainwater from the hood and promptly spat it out. Before she could say anything else, however, a familiar shade of red caught her eye.

“What did you do, try to pick a flower or something?” Cheiko asked. Her tone of voice made it sound like a joke but it was a perfectly plausible explanation, given that this had happened before. Ai was pretty predictable and that made her one of the easier Juunishi to take care of. “C’mon, I’ll piggyback you and we can go take care of that with a bandaid.” With that, Cheiko squatted down. As she did so, she noticed an all-too-distinctive shock of white hair and instinctively felt her teeth clench. It seemed Yasu and Aka were discussing something in front of the room that Chouko and Aka shared, but from experience said ‘discussion’ was probably more like a verbal feud of insults and irritability. Cheiko briefly considered intervening but concluded that it was much too early in the morning to deal with the Keeper. She hadn’t even had breakfast yet! That, and she didn’t much like getting in arguments or talking bad about Yasu in front of his own sister. Horrible as he was, Ai walked a thin line and was often split between him and the Juunishi.

Cheiko, still squatting, made a 90 degree turn towards the other side of the Miyamoto estate. Her hair and clothes were soaked but she didn’t want to move too quickly, lest she catch the attention of the Keeper as she took his sister away. Not that she didn’t get enough attention from him to begin with—and not the good kind. As if any kind of attention from Yasu was good. “Actually, let’s go have some breakfast first. I’ll make you some French toast, how does that sound?”

She had been awake for hours, merely sitting there in her bed as she flipped through yet another page of the book in her hands. “Aww, how romantic. If only things like that happened in real life.” She muttered to herself. Tamiko Amasawa was always a fan of the occasional romance novel, but as long as any books was good enough to her that was all that mattered. Her soft brown eyes glanced away from the printed text on the page she was reading to look at the clock sitting on her nightstand beside her bed. “Huh? Is it that time already?” she questioned, pulling off her reading glasses and closing her book. Throwing the covers off and walking over to her window, she looked to see that it was raining outside; the sunlight completely concealed behind a thick layer of rainclouds above. It was a surprise to her that she didn’t even bother hearing the pitter-patter sounds of the rain hitting the roof – guess it was a pretty good book. Since she was up, she figured she might as well get started on her morning routine. “Guess I should go shower first.” she said as she ran her hand through her chocolate-brown hair. Tamiko headed into the bathroom to start the water, as she waited for it to warm up she stripped out of her baby pink nightgown and undergarments. Slowly she stepped into the shower once it was at a comfortable temperature, humming to herself as she cleaned up. It took her about ten minutes to shower, quickly retreating to her room to find some clothes to wear. Digging through her dressers, Tamiko finally decided to wear a white T-shirt under her short denim dress. Well, it wasn’t a dress since it looked more like a pair of overalls but much cuter – fashion these days are complicated to explain.

Once she was dressed and all freshened up, she quietly made her way out of her room and down the hall towards her father’s room. Upon reaching his door, she placed her hand on the doorknob and slowly turned it, quietly pushing the door open to peek inside. As she opened the door a little more, she looked to see that her father’s bed was untouched from when she had made it yesterday. Had he left for work already? Tamiko stood there a little confused before she headed downstairs, thinking maybe he was just watching television or something this morning. Sure enough, he wasn’t there either. Looking over though at the answering machine on the end table beside the couch; she walked over and saw that the little red light was blinking. She remained quiet as she pressed the button as the machine began playing the message.

“Tamiko? You there sweetheart? It’s dad. You’re probably sleeping by now. Listen I’m not going to be home tonight. I have to stay here and do some work that needs to get done. I’ll probably be home in the morning; I’ll give you a call when I leave alright? Take care of yourself sweetheart, I love you and will see you later.”

With that said the message ended and Tamiko stood there staring at the little machine. “So he never came home last night…” she said softly, her facial expression looked as if she was saddened until the corner of her lips curled into a faint smile. “He’s working so hard, I’m proud of him.” Tamiko turned and walked into the kitchen, feeling her stomach begin to growl as the thought of food only stirred it’s desire to eat. As she opened the door to the fridge, she looked inside to see that it was almost empty. ”Dang, that’s what I forgot yesterday. I knew I was forgetting something when I came home from school…I was just so focused on getting my homework done early. she muttered to herself, letting out a sigh as she shut the door. Well, the only thing she could do now was to go grocery shopping. Quickly she returned upstairs to get her cell phone and her bag, checking to make sure her keys and wallet were inside her bag before heading back downstairs. She slipped on a pair of sneakers and put on her raincoat, nearly forgetting her umbrella as she raced out the door. The pitter-patter of the rain hitting her umbrella was all she heard as she walked along the empty street (along with the occasional car driving by). It took her about twenty-five minutes to get to the market by foot, and thankfully it was open this early in the morning. Once she was there, she took her time walking around each aisle and grabbing the things she needed like eggs, milk, rice, bread – among other stuff as well. Tamiko didn’t mind having to do the grocery shopping, or the cooking for that matter. Ever since her mother passed away, Tamiko took on the responsibilities of doing the cooking and cleaning at home since her father wasn’t the handiest with either one.

After getting everything she needed, she paid for the groceries and went on her merry way – well, it was merry until she realized that she had four bags of groceries to carry. This meant she wasn’t going to be able to use her umbrella to stay dry. A heavy sigh escaped her as she reached behind her head and pulled up her hood, tucking her umbrella under her arm as she picked up the grocery bags and walked outside into the rain. “Maybe I’ll try making that dessert Ai told me about. What was it again? Chocolate…ugh, I can’t remember. I knew I should have written down the recipe when she gave it to me.” As much as she wanted to go home and out of this rain, she really wanted to make that dessert for her father. It wasn’t always she managed to bake a dessert; instead she would buy a cake or something if she wanted something sweet. Tamiko turned and looked the opposite way from where she lived. If she remembered right, Ai’s home was in the opposite direction of her home. It would be a bit of a walk and take her longer to get home, but the brunette slowly made her way in that direction. It took her a little while to find the house, but eventually she found the plate outside the house that read ‘Miyamoto’ – hopefully this was the right house.

Slowly Tamiko passed through the entrance gate leading onto the front grounds of the estate, and part of her doubted that Ai lived in such a big home. As she walked up to the door, she hesitated a little to knock on the door, but she set her bags down and did just that. She was a little surprised when the door suddenly slid open, revealing a woman who answered the door. “Hello! My name is Tamiko Amasawa! Do you know if an Ai Miya-!” She was abruptly cut off when the woman shut the door in her face, leaving Tamiko dumbfounded for a moment. “H-Hey wait! I just want to know if Ai Miyamoto lives here! Please, if you could at least tell me that.” Tamiko said to the door, hoping that the woman was somewhere on the other side of it listening to her. Unfortunately, there was no reply, which made Tamiko feel like a fool. A sigh of disappointment escaped her mouth before she picked up her grocery bags and turned to start her long walk back home.

The morning sun had started to rise a little bit, but it's light was still hidden by rain clouds. It seemed that the rainfall would never stop, but the plant life didn't seem to mind. Ai was observing some thirsty sunflowers when a warm and familiar voice drifted to her ears. An eager and childlike smile came to her lips and she turned to greet Cheiko. In a matter of seconds, the Dragon had wrapped Ai in her coat, and pulled her in for a wet, but warm hug. Cheiko's arms made all the gloomy thoughts of earlier melt away from the Rabbit's mind, and she let herself absorb her cousin's love. "Good morning Cheiko-chan," she giggled, as a kiss was planted on her forehead. "You're kind of like my Prince," she giggled again and her body felt warm and fuzzy from her cousin's coat, hug and kiss. She was always so charming; exactly like a prince.

Achoo! Another sneeze, and then another sniffle. The Rabbit suddenly felt cold, and pulled the coat closer to her. She felt embarrassed at her cousin's question, but tried her best not to show it. Instead, she smiled as if she didn't have a care in the world. "Ah yes, another mishap with the roses." If it weren't for the rain, Cheiko might have seen Ai's face flush a little. The Rabbit felt embarrassed that there had been so many incident of her pricking her finger. When Cheiko offered to piggy back her, she got on without hesitation, as she had done so many times as a child. Another shiver, and then a small cough. Ai looked at her cousin, who was staring at something; or someone. Her brown eyes peered into the distance, and saw the unkempt white locks of her brother, and the blank stare of the God. Suddenly it felt like someone was squeezing her stomach and chest very tightly. They look mad... She didn't like it when Yasu and Aka fought, and always felt torn between them. The two looked like samurai preparing for battle. A small sigh escaped from her mouth before she looked away from what she assumed would be a big fight. She loved them both so much, why couldn't they love each other too?

Cheiko's warm promises of french toast didn't take her mind off of the family feud occurring just yards away, but it did make her stomach grumble. "French toast sounds really good." Ai pressed her face into her cousin's back, which was still soaked with rain. This damn rain was never going to stop was it? Her mind drifted back to Yasu and Aka and her heart ached a little. They had hated each other before Aka was even born, and she couldn't understand it. Family is family, and you should stand by them no matter what. She turned her head to sneeze again, and then sniffled. Her throat hurt a lot, and her head felt a little light. Why was Cheiko running around in so many circles? A deep breath in and out, and her head felt fine again for now. It might explode if Yasu and Aka didn't learn to love each other eventually though.

                                    "Can we make tea too?"

It was an usual a cool and dark dawn and Kouji was already up way before a lot of people for his usual run. He liked to keep on schedule, from his meal times to the way his friends acted, everything had to be concise and on point. If not, it all fell through. The game was only worth playing because the rules were set and the people had their roles to play, anything else was breaking the rules and that wasn't fun. So his whole day was always planned out, the people he had to meet and the things he had to do were always decided all in his head during his run. He never listened to anything but just the silence and the chirping of the sparrows in the morning.

The morning was the best to run in, the cool air just made your heart race and blood pump so much more. The chilly breeze that ran past your skin stung just enough to make Kouji feel excited. He was blessed in many ways for sure, unlike some of his other sickly cousins, Kouji was gifted with excellent health and endurance. Having had one of the top scores in his schools for the yearly fitness tests only helped his image among the boys and girls. The boys wanted to be him and the girls just wanted him, he wasn't oblivious to the fact but instead reveled in it. Some of cousins were unfortunately cursed not only with their zodiac but also a weak immune system, but this was a dog eat dog world and Kouji had no empathy for anyone. Why were they born under such special circumstances but just so useless in everything else?

About at the halfway point of his run, Kouji had stopped by a nearby park to get a drink of water like always. There he saw all the familiar faces he had seen the many mornings before. It was a group of elderly grandmothers that had been doing their routine Tai Chi, a familiar group that had been at the park since the beginning of Kouji's runs. After taking a quick water break, Kouji walked over to them. One of them made eye contact with him, stopped her movements and started to motion to her friends that Kouji was approaching. Soon enough, the others stopped and walked over towards him.

“Good morning, Oba-sans, it's a nice morning today isn't it?” Kouji smiled warmly, face flushed from running.

“Good morning to you too Kouji-kun, hope you are taking care of yourself,”

“The weather is so chilly right now, it's very nice but a little hard for our bodies nowadays”

“Oh yes, we brought some roasted sweet potatoes this morning, would you like a couple?”

It was probably on his first couple of runs when the grandmothers approached him, they didn't see many young cute men around in the mornings they casually let out and laughed. Kouji had no intentions in making friends with them at all, but he did respect them so he put on a friendly face. They were the epitome of history, even if they were rather unnecessary did not mean they were not appreciated. So this had become part of his morning schedule, it was a nice break from the constant stress he had felt around the house and school. They were at the end of their age and always had little gifts to give to him, there was no harm in being the friendly face around them. So every mornings since then, Kouji had always stopped by at this park and took a break with the elderly, exchanging stories and comfort.

After about fifteen minutes, Kouji excused himself to go back on his run, in hand with a bag of sweet potatoes. They understood and waved goodbye, saying that they'll see him tomorrow. He thanked them for the sweets and went back on his run. It was clearly obvious, before him they were just as well living out their routine mornings but once he came into their lives, they had started to look forward to his meeting every morning. Their faces were old and with wrinkles, but with Kouji's smiles, instead of sags, they were smiles. It was so easy, he wondered if they were just naïve or stupid for believing in him so much. He didn't mind it at all, the gifts were always sweets which made his day a little better.

Coming back to his section of the estate, it was just starting to be the sun rise of the day. Drenched with sweat and flushed from the run, the young man opened his door to his bedroom, revealing a naked girl, just hidden by the thin blanket on his bed. Everything was in order and clean all around his room except for the mess of clothes that were hurriedly taken off the night before. He knew just by a quick look that she was awake and pretending to be asleep, trying to be cute or whatever. Kouji set aside the sweet potatoes on his table and took off his wet shirt, tossing into the pile of clothes on the floor. Walking quietly towards his bed, the young boy crawled over the unmoving body, hovering over it with no touch.

“I know you're awake Ayumi-san, what are you doing?” he teased the body who started to giggle in a childlike innocence. Immediately her head popped out of the bed, revealing a rather much older female. Even at the young age of seventeen, his body was already much bigger than the twenty-eight year old office worker laying in front of him. Her makeup was smeared and her bedhead was atrocious, but she continued to play the cute card with him. They had a simple relationship, basically she was his sugar mama. She was an overworked and underpaid lowly office worker that could never get ahead in life. Her story was a sad one but still an average and boring one in Kouji's mind. Still, she reached out to him and caught him in her eyes, since their first meeting, Kouji have had her wrapped around his fingers. She was tired of going to hosts club and wasting all this money on people who was openly with other people, she drunkenly cried to him outside a club he was attending one night, “I just want someone just for me,” He thought she was boring, and that opinion still didn't change but she was so desperate for comfort and love, that Kouji thought it would be fun to screw around for a while. He set up the rules and the boundaries, she complied easily and with no resistance she couldn't stop herself but fall under Kouji's charms and kindness.

“You're adorable, Ayumi-san,” he slyly whispered into her ear, knowing she was wanting him. She gave a squeak and looked up at him, her hands caressing his smooth face. She said nothing but instead a warm smile, indicating for him to love her again. With gentle movements, Kouji started to initiate the foreplay but without a moment's notice, his door slammed right open. He sat up but not off the startled Ayumi who looked rightfully embarrassed and shamed but unable to hide her face. In the entrance of his room was one of his cousins, Chiasa Miyamoto. Her face was priceless, the shock was all so apparent. She should have known better than entering without asking permission to enter a man's room. But he could not blame Chiasa at all, she was his love and chaos. She was his better half, the Bonnie to his Clyde. He resented her so much but at the same time, she was everything to him. The only person in the world that he let have control over him and he gladly gave it to her. Their relationship was beyond physical, no one could understand them. It was them against the world.

His hatred of her wanted to hurt her, to humiliate and torture the girl for making him fall so in love with her. So he ignored her and continued what he was doing, the older woman in protest, pointing out that someone was here but unable to push Kouji off. It wasn't until Chi left and the door closed when he quickly jumped up, getting back on his feet and swiftly putting on a t-shirt. She was in tears and asked him why he cheated on her, he turned around and laughed it off. He made up a lie, “That girl was my cousin and I fear that she may tell someone, I'm sorry Ayumi-san for everything but please leave before any of my other rude cousins stomp in and find you,” She continued to badger him but he silenced it with a quick kiss on the lips, “I love you and only you Ayumi-san,” he assured her “You can go out of that entrance around fifteen minutes from now, the people there will let you out like always,”

With a silent nod as understanding, Kouji snatched up his bag of sweet potatoes off his table and started his way to catch up with Chi. She wasn't unsurprisingly far, indicating she was taking her sweet time walking away from him. He caught up to the girl and started to match her walking speed, at the same time offering one of his sweet potatoes to her “You're not mad are you? Cause I missed looking at your face,” Kouji grinned slyly, wanting to poke the bear.

                                                              The tea had gone cold.

Chiasa lowered her eyes towards her mug, her nose scrunching up in disappointment. At this time of morning, most people would be up and probably in/around the kitchen already. The idea that a mug should keep your tea warm was the sole reason Chi had Kouji buy her this glass drink holder. Now, she was going to have to tell Kouji to buy her a new one. And speaking of Kouji-

"Mad?" Her grey-blue eyes locked with the charming sheep; he was almost a foot taller than her, a height difference you couldn't easily forget "No. Would you like me to be?" She ignored the comment about her face, feeling there was nothing to left to say about it. Kouji was constantly trying to get a reaction out of her. It didn't bother her in the slightest, however, if he had people he was sleeping with. Their relationship was more much more than the physical level anyways, not that she would ever consider sleeping with him. Her slender fingers plucked the sweet potato out of his hand and she began to nibble on it, much like a rat with a cracker.

"My tea has gone cold. I think the mug you have gotten me is defe-" Before Chi could finish her sentence, they had rounded the corner where a big window was perched to view the yard. Outside, there was a perfect view of The Keeper and the God, clearly in a standoff. A smirk broke out on her face. "I wonder what they are fighting about" Taking another bite of the sweet potato, Chiasa realized how hungry she had been. It was futile, they were going to have to go to the kitchen one way or another.

"Are you hungry? I am going to make breakfast" On that note, she gently grabbed Kouji's hand and changed their course of walking, to make way for the kitchen. Out of the side of her eye, she looked at Kouji's bag of sweet potatoes. Maybe they could use those sweet potatoes for the breakfast.

The kitchen was empty. Perfect. Chiasa went straight for the fridge to grab out some vegetables. Maybe an omelette with the sweet potatoes chopped up. The petite rat turned around on her heel and caught eyes with her other half. "Could I use your sweet potatoes?"

User ImageThe cool air felt so good. Even so, running like this, Cheiko was probably going to let him have it later if she found out. It was better that she didn’t know -- it wasn’t such a big deal compared to the other secrets this house kept, he mused to himself as he ran. He never felt more aware than he did in moments like these, the air cool and crisp around him, his heart pounding and his head clearer than it felt any other time. Especially lately. Even his anger ebbed away like the tide when he thought back to Yasu, wondering what he might do if Kouyou tried running away again. How he always found the tiger, Kouyou would love to know. Maybe he’d had tracking devices implanted when they were small, too young to remember… it was possible.

He was just starting to get something out of his workout when he spotted someone approaching the door of the main house, her arms overflowing with groceries. For a second he assumed that she must have been a new housekeeper or something stupid like that (couldn’t expect him to keep the staff straight) when she set the groceries down to knock, and Kouyou was ready to take off running again. But then the whole door slamming incident happened, and even though he really didn’t want to get involved…

He skidded to a stop near her, but padded more quietly towards her -- it wasn’t like he was trying to stalk her or anything. Just trying to feel her out a little before he made a move. Even if he rebelled against his upbringing every chance he got, that initial distrust of outsiders persisted more than he wanted to admit. In little ways, always little ways, especially when family was involved. An extra glance, maybe a little extra attitude at worst. But she seemed dejected if anything, and it seemed a little pathetic to leave a girl walking out in the rain with groceries that might be meant for them. It was probably some misunderstanding, or maybe she’d taken too long. Who the hell really knew when it came to the affairs of the house staff? He got annoyed enough with the family without getting them involved.

… he’d definitely never seen her around before, though. So was she new then, or…? What was her deal?

“Who the hell are you?” He really didn’t mean for it to come out like that, in a breathy growl because he’d just been running. Not to mention, oh hey, he was in a pair of shorts and soaked to the bone with mud all over his feet and clinging to his calves. That wasn’t weird at all. He realized that a little too late, but he tried to keep his composure, ducking his head a little as he added gruffly, “I mean, what are you doing here? I haven’t seen you -- Are you new or something?” Now he just sounded exasperated. Because that was so much better than angry, right?

Tamiko had been in such a daze as she was walking she hardly even realized that she wasn't alone. Over and over in her head she was wondering if maybe Ai lived somewhere else, or if maybe the woman thought she was a solicitor. Either way, she shouldn't have had the door slammed shut in her face.

                                        "Who the hell are you?"

When she heard the voice suddenly speak up, she nearly jumped and dropped the grocery bags; thank goodness she didn't because she had fragile stuff in there. The soaked brunette turned and looked to see who it was who had spoken to her, but her eyes widened in surprise when she actually saw who. A tall, red haired man stood there, completely soaked...and shirtless. Dear god he was wet in a pair of shorts. Instantly Tamiko felt her face flush a deep red and go hot; she had never seen a guy without his shirt on....well, not this close to her anyways. She felt a lump form in her throat as she tried to find her words to at least reply to his question, but he somewhat intimidated her by the way he sounded. It sounded like he was angry at her for trespassing or something. But then he changed his tone of voice and asked his question again with a more nicer way of putting it. New? Did he think she worked here or something? Tamiko shook her head before clearing her throat, taking a deep breath as she hung her head a little. "I-I'm sorry for intruding, I came here looking to see if Ai Miyamoto lived here. My name is Tamiko Amasawa, a close acquaintance of Ai's. I-I tried asking the woman at the door but...um...I'm sorry if this is the wrong house. I...I should be going." Tamiko said, but she stopped midway as she turned to look back at the young man. She set down the grocery bags in her hands and opened up her umbrella before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a light blue handkerchief. Slowly she approached the young man and held the umbrella up high to where it shielded him from the rain. With a smile on her face, she held out the handkerchief to the stranger. "Here, something to wipe your face with. You got a little mud on it. Besides, all that rain must be bothering your eyes." she said, a tiny chuckle escaping her.

Maybe it was pointless to give him something to wipe his face with while he was standing out in the rain, but it was just a kind gesture. He didn't have to take it, but Tamiko was just that kind of of person. As she stood there holding the handkerchief in one hand and her umbrella in the other, a gust of wind blew, nearly pulling her umbrella out of her hand. Thankfully she held a tight grip on it, but the wind was able to knock back her hood, revealing more of her face to the young man before her. "Wow, seems like the weather might be getting worse. You should go inside soon or else you'll get sick." she said with a gentle tone of voice. It was then as she stood there that her stomach suddenly growled unexpectedly; what's worse was that it was loud enough for the young man to probably hear as well. Instantly Tamiko's face lit up red again in embarrassment, hanging her head to avoid looking at the guy's face - no doubt he was probably giving her a weird look. "S-Sorry! I haven't eaten breakfast yet!" Tamiko said, although she had no idea why she was apologizing when she didn't do anything wrong in the first place. The longer she was staying here, the more she'd probably look like a fool. Besides, there was no way Ai lived here. Maybe she did though and this guy was her boyfriend? Ai never mentioned to Tamiko of a boyfriend, but then again she never got into Ai's personal life to find out. Tamiko remembered Ai mentioning a brother, but was this guy really her brother? Honestly Tamiko wasn't sure, but she was beginning to regret coming here in the first place. She should have just waited until the next time she saw Ai and ask her then. Funny how foolish she made herself out to be just because she wanted to get a dessert recipe.
