You protect a vile government,
one which puts children under scalpels...

Lucas Morgan, Plague.
Descuits, Knight Hunter

As the two made it into the warehouse, Jen closed up behind them, and Plague went to go tend her wounds. Looking over the arm would, he could tell that no bullet was in her arm, so that was the good thing. However, Jen was losing a lot of blood. And she began muttering. "Yeah, I know, just...keep awake." Plague was needing a solution to her bleeding before he did anything else. Looking at his coat's sleeve, he realized it would make a good tourniquet, and he would gladly sacrifice his beloved coat for her. With a grunt of strain, stitches popping followed. As Jen's voice became more patchy Lucas tried to keep her at it. "Just keep talking...you s**t." Plague finally said, wrapping his sleeve around the wound, and using his belt to fasten it. After that was done, Plague pulled her along, to a decent hiding area. Find a way to the sewers....pipe access, find it man! Plague thought, rushing through the warehouse to find a pipe access.

Bestowed by the gods of luck, Lucas found what he was looking for, a direct access to the sewers. Running back to Jen, he hoisted her up, wrapping her arm around his neck, and carrying her. "Come on, Jen. I take a bullet in the stomach, and hardly shed a tear." Plague muttered, as he hefted Jen down into the sewers, hunting for a way back to the base.

James Hausen the Tantibus
Descuit Inciter and Fear monger

Do you hear those sounds? Hear the agony in the voices?
Is it all in your head? How sure can you be?

Tantibus smirked under the gauze, amused by someone who just escaped a facility being so timid and nervous "You're welcome, we mutants gotta look after each other, Lord knows that no one else will. And as to your earlier question, I can do both, and a bit more. Name's James Hausen, but most people who aren't my superiors call me Tantibus." He said, trying to keep his fatigue out of his gait. " That nickname is Latin, means nightmare far as I can tell. As you could probably guess from a name like that, I use fear to get into peoples heads, find out what I want to know, and put stuff in that they don't like. Basically means, the more scared someone is, the more I can get in. And no, don't worry, I didn't pry into your head any further than to read your minds pattern far enough to tell that you ain't a human."

He kept walking all the while, using a mental map of the sewers to do a small track over the area, looking for the rendezvous area. " So I've told you mine, what's your name?" He said, quickly adding " And any powers I should worry abo-" He cut off mid sentence, reaching into his coat and drawing a black plated 454 Magnum revolver with the letters P.S.E. carved into the side of the barrel, aiming it at two dark figures down the tunnel. " The nightmare comes from the south." He said down the tunnel, his coded phrase to alert any Descuits in the area his name. If he didn't get a response in the next three seconds, then the people ahead would get a few hollow points to escort them to the sewer grates.

You should be afraid you know. Because they are as real to you as the air you breath.
They're coming for you now, but remember, fear is the mind killer....

Jen awoke, feeling sick and her arm numbing. "Shut it, Lucas, or I'll rip your damn tongue out." She barked, grabbing her arm in pain. "You took a bullet from a pistol, and its still in you. I took one from a rifle, and its laying back where I got shot." She got off of Lucas's back and shook herself awake, because she felt herself passing back out. When she heard the unique call of Tantibus, she laughed. "Shut up, James, or I'll throw a boulder at you." She walked into the glow of the light and looked at the girl he was with. "And who are you, sweetheart?"

Mireille Lavigne
Descuits, Refugee

Mireille listened as James answered in more detail than she had expected in this situation. It was reassuring that he could talk so freely, meaning they were probably pretty safe down there. But just as she was beginning to feel more comfortable, two figures appeared down the tunnel, a gun was pulled, and the girl was set back on guard.

Fortunately, this was a false alarm, and two people who seemed familiar with James approached. Mireille glanced up at the bandaged man to be sure all was well before answering, including the information he was asking for before they appeared.

"I'm Mireille Lavigne. Mari, if it's easier." She replied, including an old nickname as, before the facility, she recalled a number of people struggling with the french pronunciation of her name. "I can teleport. Sort of."

Diana quickly raised both of her arms in the air to protect herself from the pillars but when she heard her men yelling. She quickly looked up to see them up in the air. Reacting quickly to it, she raises her hands to open up shadow portals in the ground to break their fall. However, as soon as she did it, the pain began. A sharp pain was felt on her forearm but she had to push through it or else more of her men would die. After some of the men were saved she looked back to see if the two Descuits were there. ”Damn it,” she said.

None of this was going to be good for her. Not only did her team manage to stop some of the prisoners from escaping, she had lost some men. But losing the traitor was what was going to get her reprimanded by her superiors. Walking up to one of the security guards, she grabs them by the collars and says, ”I pray to God that they escaped by a ******** tunnel and not because one of your men. All of this is on you so you better prepare for the repercussions of this.”

”M’am we got control of the island. Those who didn’t escape will be interrogated to see if they know of anything.” A soldier said. ”Good. I don’t care what you do but you better get them to sing because this wasn’t a one man’s job. It was a team effort.” If it was this bad here, she could just imagine how bad it was back in the city. ”I need one dozen men to stay here and help. The rest head back to the island and report to the nearest post.”

She took a boat to head back to the city and quickly began to talk in her comm link. ”This is Blue Raven, what’s the current situation and your location?” Hopefully they were better off than she was but who knows. The streets were covered with bodies and all she hoped was that they were mutant bodies and not soldiers. ”They are going to pay for this.”

Lieutenant General Daniel Masters
Knights Head of Mutant Counter Measures R&D

User Image

Gheist let out a chuckle as Gustav stumbled around the battlefield, clearly still disoriented as he inspected two already dead mutants. "Those ally muties get to you Gustav? Why don't you lie down soldier. Jimmy's inbound with a chopper." Quickly Gheist returned his gaze to the two mutant he had just shot at. A large barrier stood between him and them but he could see the spot in the wall where his round had punched through. Once again shouldering his rifle he took of in their direction. Both mutants were surprisingly still standing and headed into a nearby warehouse. They were far closer to it, allowing them to enter before Dan could even reach the structure. "Damnit!" he exclaimed slamming a fist against the mutant power sealed door. "That's four! Four in one day!" Gheist was furious. Never before had his track record been so bad. How had they all slipped through his fingers? It was maddening.

With fury in his voice Gheist spoke into the com link, informing his fellow Knights and operatives of his failure. "This is Lieutenant General Daniel Masters. All outbound mutant vessel's have been dispatched. However, 4 rogue mutants have escaped my grasp and are currently barricaded 2 buildings within this compound. Abilities of all four are unknown however all should be treated as extremely dangerous. I am requesting that all available Knights converge on my location for a clean sweep of both structures." After his message he shut of the link and let out a noticeably frustrated grunt. This was embarrassing, but these mutants were not yet out of the water. If they were still somewhere inside he'd find them and make sure they knew just who they were messing with.

From the corner of his eye Gheist watched as Jimmy's chopper landed nearby. Running over to the entranced he motioned for Gustav to enter so that he could receive medical attention. "Come on Gustav. Let's get you out of here. Hey Jimmy, whenever you get him back to the infirmary loop back around and check the perimeter. I wanna make sure these four are the only strays we've missed." Jimmy nodded in agreement as Gheist moved away from the aircraft. Hopefully the others were on their way and they could get this mess cleaned up.

Do you hear those sounds? Hear the agony in the voices?

Looking his comrades over as he holstered his gun, James had mixed feelings. On one hand, it was good to see that he wasn't the only one who had any problems, on the downside, he didn't like playing medic. "You know Rocky, you're lucky I'm so good at field dressings or we'd be worried about that arm with Plague carrying you around." He said, trying to get a shot back at Jennifer for the boulder comment. He pulled a few spare rolls of gauze out of his pant pocket and set to work on a passable field dressing on the squad leaders arm.

After removing the hasty bandage made from Lucas' sleeve, he tossed a roll of gauze and the sleeve to Plague, not even looking up."You know I'm sure as hell not patching you up you leprous psycho..." He said offhand as he continued to bandage the wound. "That should hold till we can get one of the docs to do a real job on you", He said, pushing himself back up. Turning to Plague, he asked the million dollar question "How many did you guys get out?"

"Lieutenant General Daniel Masters, I am heading to your location right now. At the island I faced two Descuits, a female that controls the earth but the male's ability is still unknown, all I know is that he is injured. From what I saw, his blood is deadly. Also, beware of the female with tattoos, she is an ex knight." She hoped that they didn't face them because the girl was hers. She wanted to bring her in but not before she had a little talk with her.

She looked up at the sky to see a helicopter hovering around an area. "I want the police to secure the perimeter by five blocks and have undercover knights patrolling all exits." Walking up to the area, she sees Gheist and runs up to him. "Blue Raven reporting for duty," she tells Gheist when she reaches him. Taking a quick glance at the two buildings, she looks around the area and then reloads her gun. "Are you positive that they're in there?" she asks him before kneeling down and placing her hand on a shadow.

Lucas shook his head as Jen griped at him, muttering something himself about appreciation. He wanted to respond to Tantibus, but was cut off by Jen of course. So, Plague kept a bit quiet, giving a slight nod to the stray that James picked up. After a moment, Plague caught the sleeve and gauze from Tantibus, and nodded, a light chuckle coming from him about the leprous part. "At least I don't mind rape people." Lucas retorted, removing his jacket, and lifting his shirt to wrap the gauze on. After the bandage was firmly secured, Lucas looked up to respond. Thinking about it for a moment, he was trying to come up with his response.

"Well, with Miss Lavigne here...a grand total of one." With that said, he finally acknowledged her fully. "I'm Lucas Morgan, Plague is game, and Plague is also the name...oddly so. I would shake your hand, but people tend to disintegrate when they do." Plague joked, but still did not offer either of his hands, for they were both soiled with blood.

Jennifer laughed at the 'Rocky' comment, pain coursing through her arm as it was being bandaged up. "I mean, of course the Mummy has to be a medic sometimes. We could use some of that cloth that's wrapping you up, pretty boy." Jen said, stretching her arm out through the random pain spikes. She then pulled out a glowstick from her pants pocket and struck it, filling the sewer pipe with more light. She then leaned up against the wall and laughed at Plague's greeting. "You shook my hand when we first met, though I did encase it with lead..." Jen's thoughts trailed off before she regained her composure. She held her hand out to Mari and smiled softly. "I'm Jennifer Nought, or Jen. Or Rocky, as Ihmotep here calls me."

This pain, this suffering... Its caused by humans... or...
Or are they really people? Do they deserve to be called Humans? After all this?

=====================================================================

He watched the Lt. General for a moment as the helicopter landed, but disregarded his order, keying his own throat mic as he walked towards the barrier that the mutant had thrown up only moments ago to protect herself. "Charlie Lead to base, pull back our men! We are getting slaughtered, pull back to set up a block before the evacuation zone, protect the people of this city, but tell them to fire only if fired upon. We wont slaughter men and women and possibly children like the nights! Its different down there than inside that room, you need to comply with this."

Killing his com, he bent down as he began to examine the ground, noticing that whatever the Lt. General had hit was bleeding a lot. Maybe not enough to drop dead, but enough to possibly drop at any moment. He shook his head, that round did more damage than anything else. Though as he continued to look at the ground, he slowly noticed that there was a nice blood trail.

Noticing this, he stood up and began to slowly follow the trail, tracking it for almost five to six minutes, wondering exactly where the two had headed. Though, he found out soon enough, the ware house was large, but the trail of blood seemed to stop here, inside. Shaking his head, he left his rifle slung and shouted. "I mean no harm to you, I wont raise my gun to attack or to defend, but if your in here show yourselves!" When he finished, he looked behind him, wondering if he had been followed by any of the Knights, though he didn't much care at the moment, as the Mutants had proven themselves multiple times that they could fend for themselves there.

Are we right? Are the Knights right? To punish them so?
They all try to live... We try to live... Who is right? Who is wrong?
Will anyone ever know the answer?

Mireille Lavigne
Descuits, Refugee

Mireille couldn't hold back a grin at the comments being thrown back and forth. Covered in blood and still able to joke, these people were really something. She tried to gather some idea of the others' powers from the conversation, but it was hard to tell what was serious and what was joking. Jen was easy enough to guess with all the rock comments, but she was less sure of Plague. His name obviously implied some use of disease, but disintegration by handshake? That was a little offputting, and hopefully a joke.

Turning her attention from one introduction to the other, she shook Jen's hand as it was offered, returning her smile. "It's nice to meet you all." She said, not one to forget her manners, even in the sewers. When in doubt, just be super polite and stay out of the way. There wasn't much else she could add to this conversation anyway, still unsure of where they were going, or even how far this group would let her tag along.

Checking his range of motion, Plague held his side as a spike of pain flared. Gasping slightly, he started to search himself for his glowstick, and scowled as he found none. Good job Plague, idiot. However, he went forward any way. "So, I hate to break up this little meet and greet, but I think it's best if we can continue on." As Plague advanced to the front of the group, he quickly plucked Jen's glowstick from her hand. "Thanks Jen." Plague said quickly, going to the front of the pack, and moving out ahead of them. He believed he had gone down this way before. "Down this way, I think. Don't quote me though, sewers are generally the same." Plague spoke, looking forward into the black abyss, and waving the group forward.

Thinking back to what James had asked him, he truly had no clue who had made it out, but so far, only Mirelle had escaped. It was poor odds, loosing that many mutants, and only getting one out. But what were you to expect when the government that was there to protect you instead wanted you herded up like cattle and treated you like filth.

Jennifer watched as Plague plucked away her glowstick and frowned. "I was gonna have you lead them back anyway. I have to go and get a weapon shipment on the east side of town." Jen then looked over to Mari and put her hand on her shoulder. "Follow these two and they'll lead you to our base...hopefully." Jen smiled softly, then turned and began walking in the opposite direction of where Lucas was going. "I'll meet up with you guys back at our base, and we'll plan our next move there." Jen said, waving as she disappeared into the darker sections of the sewers.

Coming up from underneath a manhole, Jennifer peered out, surveying her surroundings. When she was sure that the coast was clear, she climbed out of the sewers and walked into the streets. "Luckily, trouble doesn't usually make its way over here." She said, walking down the brightly lit sidewalk of her home section, people she knew walking past her and saying hello, being genuinely polite and trying to start a conversation about how long its been since they saw her. Jen would always return their greetings and continued walking, not wanting to cause any problems or lead the Knights to her whereabouts. She saw two older people sitting on a bench outside of a beautiful house, and she stood in front of them. "Hey mom and dad, how are you?" She said, watching as the two stood up and hugged her.

"Jen, your father and I thought you were dead!" her mother yelled, rushing Jen into the house while her father locked the door. "What did you do?" her father asked, pointing to the news paper that was on the table. It had a report on the mutant outbreak. Jen sighed, holding her arm as it began to throb. "The group and I helped with the-" "Oh my god, you've been shot! James, she's been shot!" Her mother began to cry while her father pulled out a medic kit. "I knew this would happen sooner or later. Now look at you." her father said, pulling off the gauze and putting his glasses on. "Hold still while I stitch you up."

Tears started to fall out of Jennifer's eyes as her father poured a bottle of rubbing alcohol on her entire arm, then began stitching it up. "Damn dad, could you have been gentler?" She joked, grabbing for a bottle of whiskey as the pain made her cry harder. "Nope, and you should be happy it isn't infected yet. Running through sewers with a wound like this? Come on, Jen, I trained you better than that." "I know dad, but it was our only option. Either that or get my head blown off." "Or, you could have surrendered!" Jen's mom yelled from the other room, regaining her composure as she drank a glass of water. "Surrendering is just like dying for her, Jillian. You know that, especially after we got her thrown in jail."

When her dad was finished stitching her up, and her bottle of whiskey was empty, Jen ran up to her room and grabbed her Compound Bow and carbon fiber-tipped arrows, along with her Claymore and ran back downstairs. "See ya, folks. I'll probably be back when the group and I are done with our mission. Goodbye." Jen said, running out the door and towards her group's secret base's entrance. "I hope she'll be careful," her mother said, which got a smile from her father. "She's your daughter, so of course she won't be."

Father in heaven, forgive us our sins,
Like Cain, we kill our brothers,

Theodore Rosenfaust, Callsign: 'Chaplain'
Knight-Chaplain, Corporal.

In the helicopter, among the whirring of the blades above and the hum of the engine, muttered Chaplain, praying as the helicopter did a fly by of the research facility. His eyes took in the carnage, and he was forced to look away, displeased and disgusted with the murders committed. However, Chaplin steeled himself, for he had heard what happened in the city. Theodore could do no more than police away the dead, and bring what little aid he could to the wounded. Two of his metal encased fingers tapped the side of his skull adorned helm, activating his helmet's radio system. "Chaplain reporting as ordered. How many have perished?" He asked, unwavering as the helicopter made it over the major killing field, and epicenter of the police incident. The helicopter set down, giving Chaplain to exit before it lifted away, off to ferry more Knights to and fro. The metal suited man walked among the bodies, not seeing many survivors, and the ones he did find were too close death for any help. At each one, Chaplain would kneel, giving a blessing, and moving grimly moving on, knowing he could do nothing more. It brought the man close to tears, forced to see so many dying souls. Chaplain forced himself away from the epicenter, and off into a road, clear of debris and violence.

Oddly enough, Chaplain walked to Lieutenant-General Masters, to which Chaplain did not salute. Dangerous, and out of military doctrine, but as Chaplain tried to explain a few times, he wasn't in the military any more. "Lieutenant-General," Chaplain said, setting Gungnir in its rest position, the counter weight against the ground. "How many need Requiem?" He asked, a tone of sorrow clinging to his words.

Yet You created them, O Lord.
