In the year 2249, the U.S. government have been split into two separate cells. The first still calling their selves the United States of America; the other, Kula, is a upcoming force that is trying to implant their own form of dictatorship. As war brewed between the two governments, Kula began to invest vast amounts of wealth into discovering new technology. After Dr. Juskine (Romania) discovered time travel, Kula made a plot to send some of their operatives into the pass to implement their government further back time. They decided that the 19th century was the perfect opportunity since the country was already in the middle of changing. To combat this, the U.S. government stole the technology and sent their own operatives back. This is the story of one of the operatives trying to stop the time switch from happening.

Clumsy ⊰ Lucia is very clumsy. Sometimes being careful doesn't cross her mind. She gets alot of bruises sometimes because she falls regularly.

Shy ⊰ Lucia can be loud at times, but usually embarrasses herself when she gets too excited. She's just normally quiet and stays by herself. But it's not like she's unapproachable.

Gullible ⊰ Lucia is quite gullible at times. She just completely focuses her energy into wanting to believe people. She wishes that people wouldn't lie, and so she believes and wants to believe people.

Anxious ⊰ Lucia has been anxious ever since she was little. She couldn't stand in front of people even if she wanted to. She couldn't be in a play or anything else, because she would shake uncontrollably. Not only that, but sometimes she would lose her vision and even faint. She sweats, can't breathe, and her voice gets really shaky. Just being near strangers can make her shake and feel uncomfortable.

Lucia is the only child of Rei and Mai Higasaki. She was raised with love and saw her parents everyday. Her father is the head chef of Higasaki Dining. Her mother works at home paying all of the bills and the likes. Lucia always loved when her father made desserts. One day, when Lucia was in first grade, her father asked her if she would love to help him in the kitchen someday. She couldn't help but smile in joy. From there on, Lucia practiced with food and baking in their home kitchen after school every day.

Lucia didn't entirely like school very much. It's not like she was made fun of or anything. It's more of the fact that her anxiety started getting worse and worse as she grew older that she didn't even want to be around people. She was never too good at interacting with her classmates either. She never had a real friend. As soon as she got into fifth grade, her mother thought it would be best to take her out of school and homeschool her until highschool. It helped her work on her cooking skills more, since her mother taught her in the morning.

By the time Lucia was in 8th grade, she decided to create her own dessert for her parents restaurant. She was very into drawing, and tried many different designs before creating her own design. She decided for her first design, that it would be something that she loved. Strawberries. She started with a tart, and just a couple weeks before her first year in highschool, she finally came up with a Strawberry Tart. But it wasn't any ordinary strawberry tart, It was made with rhubarb also. She called it Sourire de l'Ange. It was a hit. everyone loved it so much, that her father had her start working at the restaurant. Through her first year of highschool, she worked hard to stay at the top of the class, and to stay baking at the restaurant. Before she graduated from first year of highschool, she made her second design. Small Green Matcha Chocolate Cakes. But around this time, the world started to become corrupt. The world started crumbling, and Lucia's parents knew it as time for her to leave; by going to the past.

~Lucia Higasaki~

Lucia opened her eyes, and heard the deep rumble of machines outside of the house. The land was in turmoil, and everyone tried their best to make the best out of it. But it was barely helping. The united states would barge through and take people to fight as soldiers. Sometimes Small wars would break out, and it would destroy nearby towns and buildings. Lucia's parents would always say they were sorry for bringing her into such a world. Such a fragile person shouldn't live in such a time. All she could do was sit there, because there would be nothing that she could say. Lucia sat up in the bed, and stared ahead. She didn't really want to be awake, let alone alive. She never really thought that anything she did was really worth it. She threw the covers off of herself, and walked into the bathroom. When staring at herself in the mirror, she wasn't sure if she could smile today. Like every other day.

After getting dressed, she walked downstairs and sat at the kitchen table. Her father was sipping on some coffee and was watching the latest news on the tv. Lucia's mother set a cup of hot tea, and some toast in front of her. "Thankyou." She said softly before eating, and turning her head to the tv. She hated the news. She didn't like to know what was going on in the world if she didn't need to. "Sorry I can't work at the bakery today." She said to her father before taking a sip of her tea. He looked over at her and waved his hand. "School is what's really important right now. And you're safest there." He said before turning his head back to the tv. That's not true. Many children have died because wars ave broke out around schools. They tell you you're safe when you're not. Lucia was so mad, but she couldn't make her parents more upset. She knew they would, but they are good at covering it up.

When she was done, Lucia grabbed her bag, and walked over to the door. Both of her parents gave her a hug, then she was on her way. On the way to school, many people said hello to her. Her family had a little bit more money then the normal person, so she would bake cakes and give them free out to people. They were very thankful to her for that. She would flash a fake smile, but as soon as she got away from them, she would drop her smile. Don't get it wrong, it made her very happy that other people were happy, but it wasn't enough to really make her happy. She had to be careful everywhere she went. That's what it means to be living in such a world.

"Kidd," a low voice grumbled. "Kidd, we need to get out;" it was an old veteran quietly dragging the young soldier behind him. "Sir, give me a few more minutes, I'm sure I can stop them," Matt pleaded. An explosion suddenly rocked the building knocking both men over. As they stood up, the building began to sway as if it took a jab to the face. "We have to get out," the vet said starting to run. Directly behind him, Matt was cautiously running behind him. "Sir, this maybe a trap," he yelled while dodging crumbling pieces of the ceiling. "I'm willing to bet, as soon as we get outside, we'll be attacked."

The vet stared at the young soldier. They both nodded and shot out the nearest window. Jumping out they landed in a courtyard. "We'll meet up in a hour," Matt told him rushing into the nearest building.

"My focus is to forget the pain of life. Forget the pain, mock the pain, reduce it. And laugh."

Lucia shuttered when she heard a soft explosion like noise in the distance. And without even thinking she stopped walking, and turned to look. Smoke. She could see it very far in the distance. She started to run towards the school. When ever anything like that happened, it would kick her anxiety up a notch and it makes her crazy. She hated having to be scared all of the time, having to look over her shoulder. She carried mace with her because rape was at a all time high. She sighed when she got to the gates of the school. In relief of course. It really was the only place she felt safe, even though she wasn't.

She stepped inside of the school, and walked to her first class. Nobody. She did think it was a bit strange that no one was in the halls too, but she though she was just late. But no one was there. She decided to walk to the next classroom over, and also, no one was there. She looked at her watch. It was an hour after classes started. "What the hell?!" She yelled. She actually was late, and didn't even realize it. 'Maybe there was an auditorium meeting? Always seems to be these days..' She thought as she tried to calm herself down while walking down the long hall to get to the auditorium.

After a minute of walking, she finally came to the doors, but didn't hear the muffling sound of someone talking on the speaker. She slowly opened the door, and in her horror was a gigantic hole in the side of the school. Several students and faculty lay on the ground dead. The was blood everywhere. This was now a war zone. She had to be quiet. Tears started to stream down her face. She put both hands over her mouth to muffle her crying, and ran out of the school.

As soon as she got outside, Lucia fell to her knees and threw up. It was the worse thing she had ever seen before in her life. She had to get home. Lucia slowly got up, and started walking out into the streets. She wiped her mouth, and stood, almost paralyzed at the sight of tanks rolling down the road. She quickly ran in the nearest forest. She knew her way, since it was the place she had to hide every time something like this happened. She didn't even care what happens to her anymore, she just wanted to know if her parents were alright. As she ran through the woods, the only thing she thought was 'Please be alive, please be alive.' It was the only thing she really thought about anymore. Who was going to be the next victim and when.

Lucia gasped in horror at the sighted of her fellow neighbors houses that were either on fire, or crushed. People were running and scattered along the streets. Some people were crying over the dead. Her anxiety made it hard for her to breathe as her tear started to flow again. She grabbed her chest, and ran as fast as she could to her house. Shambled. Her house was crushed. "Mom! Dad!!" She yelled as she ran towards it. She saw her mother laying under a board, and ran to her. "M-mom..." She said as she kneeled down, and poked at her lifeless body. "Mother...." She cried, then softly heard her name. She frantically looked around. "Father!" She yelled to the broken house. He was trapped. Lucia started to pick up any board she could, and finally got to her father. "Father i'll get you out!" She said quickly but was stopped by his hand that gently grabbed her ankle. "No... my leg is broken, and i'm losing alot of blood. You need to get out of here." He said, coughing up blood as he spoke. "B-but where..?" She asked, tears streaming down her face, almost unable to talk. "Somewhere....safe.." He breathed hard, then fell silent. Another loud explosion. It was nearby. 'Where to go?' She asked herself as she frantically ran back towards the woods.

As he made his way through the lonely street he began to smell burnt wood. Looking up, he saw a tower of smoke rising beyond the woods nearby. It was at times like these that reminded people what they were fighting for. Matt took a deep breathe, he knew he had to survey the area and look for survivors but this part of his job was never easy. Seeing entire families slaughtered and the ones who survived gone completely mad, it was just.....sickening. It remind him of his last day with his parents, the first day alone.

Walking closer he began to have the all to familiar smell reach his nose. His suspicions were correct, there was no chance that anyone within that area survived. It seemed the entire town was hit pretty hard as the school had a massive hole ripped in the side. "Oh god," he said softly to his self. He knew he was partly responsible for this, Kula after all, was after him since 10 o'clock the previous night. Suddenly he heard footsteps coming from the direction of the woods. He took his gun out and took aim.

This couldn't be happening. This had to be a dream. She was now alone in this corrupt world. She didn't know what to do with herself. She wasn't even sure if it was worth to live anymore. When she ran in the woods, she thought of how she could have died twice today. First, she left the house, but could have died there, and because she was late to school, she was unharmed. But who knows how long that'll last. She knew that usually people wouldn't come through the woods with their machines, but sometimes they'd run through. She never knew why because she would always hide and never be caught.
The only thing that possibly could have been going through her head was why is this happening? Why did this have to happen to her? Why was she born? Why couldn't she just die? Good question. There was no reason for her to be alive. Or anyone for that matter. She ran as fast as she could without any stops to the tree in the middle of the forest. It was the biggest tree, and the roots were uprooted to a point where she could hide under them, almost underground.
Lucia closed her eyes, and all she could picture was her her parents dead underneath all of the rubble. All she felt was the hot sensation of tears starting to run down her cheeks, and she tied to her best to wipe them away but they kept coming. "Why do you hate me!?!?" She screamed on the top of her lungs. To who? No body she would suppose. Maybe god? Anyone who would be listening really. She didn't want to be alone.

((sorry if my posts are a bit long. Also I wasn't sure if you were trying to come in contact with my character yet, but she's not near the school anymore. She's back in the woods, but didn't go back to the school. ))

As he made his way through the woods, Matt heard what sounded like sobbing in the distance. The closer he got the louder the sobs were. There stood a large tree almost uprooted. Looking around cautiously he walked quietly towards the tree. He decided it was probably a good idea to tuck his gun away as to not frighten whoever was there. "Hello," he said gently as he peered into the roots. "Is anyone there; if you need any help, I'm from the government, I'm here to take in any refugees."

All we could do is cry as she sat alone under that tree, all alone in the world, and no one to care for her anymore. but this was nostalgic. Only for the reason that she came here almost every day because she was afraid of almost everything in the world. She had to be. She could never be safe. Lucia stopped crying at the moment she heard footsteps approaching. She looked out from a small crack between the tree's roots, and saw a tall man approach the tree that she sat under. 'No...' She thought as she softly sniffled and wiped her eyes.

"Is anyone there; if you need any help, I'm from the government, I'm here to take in any refugees."

"I don't wanna go!" She yelled out. It was true she didn't want to go, let alone with a stranger. And it was a boy. Lucia never truly liked boys. She could never trust them. The only guy she ever trusted was her father. "I'd.... rather die then go with you..." She mummbled under he breath.

"I'm not sure what happened here, but don't be afraid," he said as he moved all the way in. "Oh dear," Matt noticed the tear streaks on her face. "I'm just going guess, but you've lost it all today right," he asked sitting across from her. "Do you want to talk about it," he felt that as someone who went through an event so similar he could probably understand her better than anyone else. He pulled out a couple of water bottles and rolled one over to her. "What's your name by the way?"

Lucia cringed as she watched the long haired, thin boy walk over to her, and shift himself under the tree. Her breathing stammered a bit. 'How could I not be afraid...?' She asked herself as her eyes stayed on the boy ho shifted himself across from her. "Oh dear." She heard as he stared at her face. She only imagined it must have been her tears. She quickly wiped them away, her face a bit flushed.

"I'm just going guess, but you've lost it all today right,"

She left it open for him to guess so. She lowered her head and nodded at his comment. She really did lose everything. She had nothing left. 'Do I wanna talk about it...' She thought. She shook her head as to say no. She didn't particuarly want to talk to a stranger about her happenings, even if he was part of the government. Wait.. the government? Which government? She quickly grabbed the water that he rolled to her and threw it at his face. She kept her emotions completely still. "You're gonna poison me..." She said softly, then grabbed onto her legs, bringing them closer to her chest, and burring her head into her knees. "My name's not important." She said quietly. "I'm a nobody."
