Heinrich Willhelm von Goethe

Heinrich shook his head. While it was true that he did live in the church, he wasn't about to mention its occupation to a human. It was better that it remained as a derelict building in the minds of others.

"No, no. The Church of Saint Peter has been abandoned for many years. I just come here sometimes when I'm feeling particularly spiritual. It is a great place to meditate, and consider...the bigger picture."

Come to think of it, this was exactly the type of girl that Mary would appreciate. Young. Naive. Virgin? Questionable, but all the same, Mary wasn't one to turn down a gift it seemed. Heinrich's mind began to run like clockwork. He would give this girl to Mary, but he'd either have to do it very fast or wait till' evening.

"I was actually about to run on home. Would you like to walk with me? I can escort you to wherever you need to be."

Heehee... Catch me if you can...

Halloween
1998

Desi stood behind a corner licking his lips. This was going to be good. The only light was that of a dim yellow street lamp. The sounds of laughter and witch cackles were everywhere. “Come on lil’Jackie, we need to find Desi.”
“Jackie coming. Rhava no scared of Phantom? Phantom bad vampire, remember?” Rhava and lil’Jack spoke as they searched for Desi. “You’ll never find me!” Desi taunted and turned to run the opposite direction of the voices. “Lil’Jackie will find you! He’s a pro vampire hunter!” Rhava called back.
Desi ran to hide behind another corner. This time the light of the crescent moon was bright. Desi stood breathing heavy. He wore a pair of holy black skinny jeans with a few safety pins holding parts together. Black knee-hi Doc Martians covered his feet, and Sullen Angel black skater tee. To finish it off, as Jackie said, a black choker with a silver cross pendent. It wasn’t normal for Desi to dress this dark, but since he was a sopose to be a vampire, he had to make it work with what he had. The sound of Jackie’s mini combat boots alerted Desi to duck into the nearest hiding spot, behind a trash can. Stepping into the light, lil’Jackie wore a black cowboy hat that was embellished with a silver cross. A overly long black duster, and his normal grey jeans and white button-down blouse. Rhava had his bleached hair pulled back into a pony tail to keep it out of his eye’s. “Jackie doesn’t see Phantom Rhava…”
“We’ll find him.” Rhava brushed her long red hair behind her shoulder and sighed. She was suppose to be a rock star. Only problem was, she pretty much dressed that way everyday. A black studded collar, a torn-up Nazareth tee, elbow length lace fingerless gloves, a pair of red leopard print skinny jeans, and a pair of black knee-hi converse all-stars. Desi still wandered how she survived through the summer in all that dark stuff. “Oh Desi… Come out, come out, wherever you are…” Desi laughed and ran passed them causing Rhava to squeal a little. Scowling angrily, Rhava growled. “That’s it! Your candies mine!”
“Like hell.” Desi said after stepping around a corner to face them coolly with his arms crossed. “Then you’d best not go to sleep tonight, otherwise Jack and I are raiding your stash Mr. Too-cool-for-rules-vampire. Mama Bear said in by 10 o’clock.” Desi frowned and pouted. “Your no fun…” Lil’Jackie looked at the two and giggled. “Rhava and big brother are funny when they fight.” Lil’Jack pushed his too-long sleeves up and walked over to Desi. “Alright Mr. Vampire… It time for bed.” He said pushing Desi forward from behind him. “Hello… Vampire here. I’m suppose to stay up all night and go to bed before the sun rises!” Rhava laughed and helped Jack pull Desi towards the warehouse. “Funny.” A deep male voice called from the shadows causing Desi, Rhava and Jack to freeze in place. “Who’s there?” Desi called. “Nobody.” Desi frowned. “Doesn’t sound like nobody to me.” Rhava answered. The voiced chuckled. “Tampering with fate are we?” A tall man stepped from the shadows. He wore a white button-down, a white waist-coat, a pair of black slacks, and black dress shoes. His hair was long and blonde. His eye’s glowed a radiant blue in the darkness. “What does the tall mean vampire mean?”
”Jackie!” Rhava and Desi shouted at the same time to let him know he needed to stop talking and that the game was over, but Jackie didn’t get the point and only continued. “Jackie no know a fate…” The man chuckled. “So innocent, yet knows so much… I mean, you and your friend are tampering with your future.” Lil’Jack stepped forward from Rhava and Desi’s grasped and adress the man directly. “Tall man no denies he’s a vampire. So you a vampire.” Jackie looked at the man and blinked. “What’s future mean?”
The man smiled sweetly, flashing his fangs for only a second. “Oh how I do miss being so innocent. Future is what is to happen. I, as you say, am indeed a vampire. I will not deny to one so young.” Jackie nodded. “But won’t you get in trouble?” The man nodded and looked at the star-lit sky. “I would, but am to die tomorrow anyway.” Jackie frowned. “Why?” Chuckleing again the man turned his gaze back to Jackie. “So many questions… So vary little time. I made the mistake of outing my kind before. Now, I am to die. So before I go. I will grant to one gift. Your costumes are not far off. One day you three will forget each other only to remember again, but none of you will ever be of the same innocents again.” The man smiled again and knelt before Jackie. He placed something in his hand and stood. “See you in the afterlife Little brother.” The man said then vanished in a split second. Desi looked at Rhava, who was shaking like a leaf then walked over to check on Jackie who seemed to be perfectly fine. “Why did he call me little brother, Phantom?” Desi shrugged and took Jackie’s hand free hand then walked over to Rhava and sighed. “Come on you chicken.” Desi reach to take her arm, but she pulled away and glared. “Piss off. I don’t need your comfort.” She turned to march off. “Rhava mad at Jackie?” Desi shook his head. “Nah… She’s just scared. You know how she gets.” Jack nodded and pulled Desi’s hand to follow.

~Present

Desi looked around and nodded before tossing his pack down on the couch. This place was a lot like everywhere else he‘s stayed. Just with a bit more stuff. The underground part made him feel like crying. He still couldn‘t get over the death of Shiver. “Coming…” He mumbled and followed Melbourne.

Desi stood watching Mel on the phone. She seem aggravated. Closeing his eye‘s, he tried desperately to remember what happened after they left. All he really could remember was Lucy screaming at him in what sounded like a foreign language. ‘Lucy…’
“What?”
‘What happened?’
“Other then you passing out and Tizzy getting his a** kicked. I didn’t really pay attention.” Desi sighed and rubbed the back of his head. ‘Whatever… And another thing.’
“What?”
‘Stay out of my dreams.’ Lucy laughed inside his head and faded.
Melbourne spoke into a phone to that redhead that Desi currently didn’t really care for. When Melbourne spoke to him he shrugged. “Other then what happened to Tizzy and following you. Nothing else really. Well you flipped out, but that was it.”

"It would be a nice place to think," She responded looking at the church again before turning her gaze back to the man. "Okay," She responded "I across the street I was trying to get there when that man..thing stopped me I would think I am just over tired but I had seen him twice today it ran off earlier because of another man I had met but I guess it wasn't gone really because it came after me again once I was headed back home from work," She spoke trying think why this person or thing, whatever it was would be chasing her. Although she had just left her shift at the bar so she was wearing the uniform they made the bartenders and waitresses wear at the bar, it wasn't too bad of an outfit just a little uncomfortable for a good girl like Ren.

Heinrich gave her a slight nod. Home it was, then. And perhaps they'd find her mysterious assailant along the way, and Heinrich would talk some sense into whomever or whatever they were. Heinrich would lead her...not to home, but hopefully right into the clutches of Mary. It would be a suitable gift, he had decided. This girl. He needed to find her name, speaking of which.

"Alright, we will get you home. What is your name?"

He gave her his best smile.

"My name is Heinrich. I guess I am your guardian angel for the evening, or something along those lines."

Heinrich walked to the church door and opened it. The morning was dangerously close at hand, and when it arrived, he'd be without his immortal powers. Time was of the essence. Heinrich reached out with his mind to see through the eyes of his owl. Where was Mary? The owl hopped down from its perch atop Saint Augustine's spire and landed on the ground with a fluttering of its wings. It hooted, once, twice, three times. Damn that woman.

"I am Serenity, but I am usually just called Ren," She answered his question "Nice to have met you Heinrich," She responded to his name "It would seem you are," She then added with a faint smile. Following him as they reached the door of the church, Ren stood back awaiting to exit the church she was a little reluctant to leave still scared that thing was out there waiting for her. Why it hadn't come into the church peeked her curiosity. Keeping silent behind him she kept a good space between them allowing him to decide when they would exit the church because after all his church had kept her safe from that monster as well as he did.

Out of the light

After only one drink Sol stopped himself and left. He wasn't sure if Chloe would be home yet but if she was then she wouldn't appreciate him stumbling in with so much as a buzz. He took his time walking back home and was surprised to see Leta at the door. He made sure that he was presentable and then walked up to her with a small bow. When he finished the bow he walked slowly around her and started to open the door.

"It is quite late for you to be out is it not? I do not know if my mistress is here at this point, although she will probably be back soon." Having opened the door he turned back to Leta, noticing that nobody was home. "Come in if you would like." He said and he stepped to the side so that she could enter first if she so chose. "I will see to you until she returns or it gets to late."

He looked very smart still although there was a slight darkness to his mood that he didn't usually let through. It was getting to the point that he needed to drink Chloe's blood or he would start to age rapidly and it was showing in his lapse in self control. To be honest he was glad it was Leta and not another of the kindred that were at the door.

Mel frowned at his complacency to follow and sighed quietly to herself. She had taken an independent man into her home and made him her pet, essentially. Part of her felt evil, but that part was buried under a sea of confusion.

She took his reply into careful consideration and dropped the coat on a chair. She leaned against it with one hand and looked at him. This mortal, whom she tasted only nights earlier, had a weird effect on her. He was quite tall... but not in a foreboding way. It was in a way that made her feel like she could relax around him, and not fear any outbursts she had. The memory of her very first encounter with him was fresh in her mind and she couldn't believe it. People touching her was something Melbourne hated. It made her nervous, and the touch from Vermillion last night was withstood purely out of sheer force of will and exhaustion. Melbourne wondered silently to herself, if Desi were to do that again..

No. He's just a mortal. A ghoul, at that. GHOUL. She yelled at herself inside her head and Melbourne sighed out of frustration and rubbed her eyes, looking away.

"Gah..." she said, and shook her head. She stood up straight and allowed her inner barriers to drop a little, leaving herself open for the sake of gaining his trust. Usually tense shoulders dropped, and the gripping hand relaxed as she heaved her chest in a breath, willing herself to relax.

"We have things to do tonight, and later before sunrise, we can gather food for you to store here. The fridge in here you can use. Just keep apples out of here and we'll be fine.. not particularly fond of the smell." Mel looked past Desi to the door and nodded. "The door there only has one key. I will get you another one soon enough, but until then it will be wise for you to stick with me. Especially tonight. I must see Vermillion.. the Sheriff, about what I 'flipped out' on last night." She kept her gaze straight and the memory of both the vision and her voicemail to Vermillion was in her head.

"This place isn't much, but whatever I have is yours to do with as you wish. My only request is that you stay out of my bedroom." Melbourne blinked and turned slightly took a step forward, grabbing her coat. "Is there.. anything I can do for you right now?"

::_______________________________::

Groaning, Rhava slowly woke up from her unwelcome sleep. She reached over the edge of the bed to dig around for her pants. She pulled her phone out and looked at it. 6:48pm. Still early enough that she was safe to run a few errands before her new undead overlords would be awake. Rhava got dressed slowly. The lack of blood in her veins and food in her system was taking it's toll on her body. Her skin was paler then it had ever been. It almost looked like her freckles had even faded into nothingness. Slowly, she made her way to the surface, careful to avoid making any noise. Rhava was eternally grateful that Alto kept up gentlemanly behavior with her and hadn't stayed in her room.

Once she was out in the daylight, she gathered her bag and jacket from the floor of the alter, then slowly walked to her dorm. Rhava hastily made some phone calls to her professors. She had slept through her morning classes. How the hell did these people expect her to keep a student schedule and do, well, whatever bidding she would most likely have to do now? Rhava made it to her dorm room and collapsed on the bed. It was nice to be in her own bed. Everything was much more familiar and simple. She grabbed her laptop to do some minor internet chores, including emailing her boss to tell her she would have to quit work. Checking her emails, she noted that the Don still hadn't gotten back to her. Letting out as aggravated sigh, Rhava quickly typed in a short email message to him. Thanks for the shout out on the blog! You said something about doing a bit on your show. Any publicity for the charity would be great. When were you wanting that done? I only have a few days left. Cheers! ~Rhava Rhava paused for a moment then smiled. Any publicity would be great. The more she got herself exposed to the mortal community, the more of a liability she was dead. She typed in her cell number in case the man lost it and then hit send. She really hoped that he would respond.

Rhava closed the laptop then quickly pulled the lacey night gown off. The fabric was far too dainty and thin for her liking. It felt like it would rip at any moment. She changed into a pair of black knee length leggings, short denim skirt, and a black band shirt. The shirt was for The Unseen that she had gotten at a show. She had cut the side and sewn them with white dental floss so the shirt would actually fit her figure, then cut the neckline out so it would be a deep V neckline. Lastly, she threw on a white bandana around her neck, placed back all of her various piercings including her lip and eyebrow rings, and her thick black leather belt with large silver O rings around her hips. Rhava then grabbed a backpack and started to throw in whatever clothing was laying around that smelled clean. She also tossed in some personal items in hopes that would tide her over for now.

She was about to head out the door, when she stopped for a moment. She reached over and grabbed her guitar in it's traveling case, along with her small amp that she could place on her belt. Then, she grabbed the last items she really cared about at all, her eskrima weapons. She took the classes for it as her elective for her major on the belief that understanding a fighting body in motion would help her artwork. Well, that's what the paper she had written about it had claimed. The tall, thin bag contained a pair of proper wooden fighting sticks as well as some retractable batons she had ordered from online. Rhava pulled the batons out and strapped them to her hip, opposite to her mini-amp. She highly doubted she could actually take on any of the vampires, but she wasn't about to be caught dead without some sort of weapon on her. Not when she knew how dangerous the streets were during the encroaching night.

Hurrying to make it back to the church before sunset and anyone would really notice she was gone, Rhava tried to jog back. Her body wouldn't allow it. Panting heavily, she paused to lean against the wall of a nearby building. Rhava lifted her eyes and gasped in delight. A taco truck was parked across the street. After taking a break to hungrily scarf down a vegan burrito, Rhava was on the move again, drinking a bottle of soda. It still took her far longer then she figured it would. The sun was already setting as she walked back through the doors of the church. Breathing heavily, Rhava set her things down in the first row of pews in the church, then laid on the cool ground. The floor was in terrible shape, but felt nice to her aching body. After a few moments, she grew bored. Rhava remained on the floor, but with her feet propped up on the pew. She strummed the guitar she had brought with her and awaited the new torments would come for her tonight. Humming softly during the verses, she quietly sang to herself the chorus.

"Humans are capable of so much creativity and goodness,
and at the same time they are destructive and cruel." ~Leta

Leta blinked; leaning against the door to Chole’s home. She could feel the dawnstar. It was quick to come soon. Sorcha huffed when a few other cat passed by, then returned to purring and nosing Leta’s cheek. The leather was warm against her skin, her braided hair pulled over her right shoulder. Leta had one stiletto heeled foot resting on the door and her arms across her chest. It’s been a while since she’s been this care free.

When Sol made his way to where she was, she kicked off the door and stood smiling. “It is, but I figured what’s it going to hurt if I cut it close? Vermillion does it all the time. Besides, that letters been nagging at me.” Leta looked at the building. “I thought as much, she’s a busy woman.” Leta smiled to Sol and stepped passed him to enter the house. She wasn’t sure how Chole would feel about Sorcha, but she’s become attached. So it would be hard for her to leave her outside. “Thank you Sol. I’ll try not to be such a bother. Maria’s always telling me I talk to much.” Leta looked around and scratched Sorcha behind the ears. The sun was comeing, and she didn’t really have that much time to return. She lived on the other side of the city. She really need to take Tizzy’s advice and get a vehicle of her own. Maybe a ducati or a SRAD. The ladder of the two made her giggle to herself. Srads were ancient Celtic weapons. If you didn’t know how to use it, then you never touched it. They were one of the many things that made the Romans call Celt’s savages. “I’d like to wait for Chole, if you don’t mind. If I get tired, I’ll just, uh… what do the kids call it? Oh right,” She smiled at Sol. “‘Crash on the couch’” That saying sounded so odd coming from her.

"Help is all they ever say,
Even though it seldom stays.
It’ll leave you too you’ll see
And then alone you will bleed." ~Leta

Heinrich Willhelm von Goethe

Heinrich walked out of the church and into the twilight between night and dawn. He had, perhaps, thirty minutes before the sun would begin to rise. Time enough, he supposed. Time to begin his work, he would question the woman with polite conversation; inevitably leading to her opinion of him shifting towards comfort. Soon he would have her trusting him. This was an easy routine to follow, and one he had managed many a time. It was just a matter of saying the right things.

"It's awfully late...or maybe early, to be awake."

Heinrich scanned the area in front of the church. Nothing. No monsters. Just as he had expected.

Out of the light

Sol followed her inside and raised an eyebrow when she mentioned crashing on the couch. Was she trying to relate to him? "That wont be necessary. There are two guest rooms on the top floor and if need be at least one of them can be closed off to the sun. Is there anything I can help you with while you're waiting for my mistress?" Sol kept his eye on her but kept moving to the kitchen. He pulled out a pan and started to prepare to make some eggs before he remembered she was there again.

"Do you mind?" He asked, ashamed of the fact that he had forgotten of her presence. The new arrivals in town disturbed him greatly. He'd had plans to rework the power structure using his old contacts but they would put a dark cloud over a already thinly stretched plan. "Normally I wouldn't while guests are around but you probably wont be waiting long." He waited for her permission to continue before going on.

Sol didn't very much like being alone with anybody other then his mistress. It genuinely made him feel exposed and vulnerable. The matter wasn't helped by the fact that his head was in a haze. He worried slightly about Chloe and it showed briefly in his eyes as he spoke. "Like I said she shouldn't be long, she's already out later then normal." His look off worry was once again replaced by the flat expression that he normally wore. He was tired of dealing with kindred as a ghoul. Most treated them with less respect then they did humans. Those that didn't worried him more.

User ImageFollowing Heinrich out of the church, staying a step behind him she began to breath a little easier to see that thing had disappeared. Moving so she was walking beside him she looked ahead nervous that thing was only waiting for her to be alone again."Oh...Yeah," She responded "I work at the little local bar downtown, I am the bartender there so I work usually till its really late," She always worked this late if not later most times so being up this late or early how ever he wanted to look at it didn't bother her one bit. She had gotten use to sleeping in the day and working at night most times. There was the odd day where she worked during the day and also at night, making her like a zombie when it came to communicating with anyone else. "What brought you out here so late?" She asked looking over at him then straight ahead again.

Chloe watched Maxwell and soon Mary as she joined the little meeting she had not been requested to join, she was far from being a lady, that was possibly what annoyed her most, but she would not word such things, for she was a lady. Maxwell spoke of her working with the little Mary and Chloe inclined her head slightly, not an emotion passing on her face. "If that is what you want, less the King speak differently or I am treated as a servant" That was her single condition. She would help with the Elysium, as per requested, she would be delighted to do so, as she had stated before, but as with everything, if she did not have the respect a Lady deserved then she would not do as they requested, it was simple really, all that was needed is that they be polite. She knew full well why Maxwell was making them work together, he wanted a reaction, the man practically lived off of them, but she would give him no such satisfaction, if he wanted a reaction, he'd best pick an easier pray then herself. She raised her head slightly to gaze at the ceiling, sun rise would be soon, she would have to hurry home, how horrid. "I must depart though, a meeting must be held to further discuss what it is you want of this Elysium, for now, I bid you all a good night and a pleasant rest" She gave a light curtsy before picking up her violin and exiting the room, weaving through those gathered with simple elegance before she left. She would have waited to be dismissed, but when the day neared, she simply could not dabble so casually. She wandered the halls of the catacombs simply enough before she made it to the stairs and began to ascend them, thinking of this Elysium to which she would be a part of creating and the partnership she would have with Mary.

Chloe was not a fan of other vampires simply as a general thing, she would tolerate other vampires as she should within a coven, but she would internally cringe at it. Yes she had Sol, but he was human and listened to her every word quite loyally. Butler was a vampire, but again, quite loyal and listened to her requests and question nothing she demanded of him, even though he was quite older then her. Even now it puzzled her as to why he took orders from her, a simple Ancilla, but he did so quite willingly, so she would count her blessings and give him the orders he seemed to live off of. as she slipped out of the church, she began to walk in a brisk pace back to her home. Somewhere along this area, near the church, is where she personaly would plan to put the Elysium, somewhere close to Maxwell's home would help those who did not like to follow rules, feel as though Maxwell was simply across the street. Hm, perhaps she would make Butler work within the Elysium for a majority of nights, he was strong and a trained fighter as well as older then both Mary and herself which would also be good to enforce the rules, ah, rules, life would be so horribly chaotic without them. These thoughts continued to swim about her head as she reached the apartment building to which her suite was in. A doorman opened the door for her with a smile, easily recognizing her as one of the residences, as did all of the security within her home, they were human, but she had a recognizable face and had clearly not tolerated it when, at first she had lived here, a guard did not believe she lived within the top most suit. Why he had not, it escaped her, but she had been quite close to tearing him limb from limb, that man had swiftly been fired when she had stated how very very displeased she had been to be forced to stand there and be forced to accept this mans denial of her entrance. She tsked lightly as she slipped into one of the elevators, a man within the elevator, dressed in uniform, inserted a key into a lock an pressed a button. for the top most floor. He too knew who she was. When she was to receive guests she would look at a screen near the door which would show the face of the person at the security, or, if she was expecting someone, she would leave the name at the front desk. So, when she opened her newly fixed door to enter her home and find Leta there, she was not surprised. She closed the door behind herself and set her violin on a table near the base of one of the stair ways, she would bring it up later.

She walked over to Leta, noting Sol in the kitchen, so he was here, good. "Leta, it's lovely to see you, I trust Sol has been a gracious host in my absence?" She asked the girl, noting the cat with her, she raised a slim eyebrow, she had not know Leta owned a cat, hm must be new. Chloe walked over to her living room and sat down on one of the single chairs, motioning for Leta to sit on the couch. "And what is it I can do for you?" She asked. The night had been quite hectic and Chloe could not wait to rest, perhaps have a luxurious bubble bath? oh yes, she would do that, she desperately needed that. She looked from Leta to the cat she held. "I did not know you owned a cat, Leta dear, did you only recently take him into your home?" She asked curiously. If she did not have Sol or her butler then she was sure she too would have an animal companion, but she often worried about getting attached to fragile things that held not immortality. She looked to Sol and frowned lightly in thought. He was not immortal, but she had often dabbled with the thought of taking him as her childe, but he was formerly a hunter, simply because she had saved his life did not mean he wished to become one of the creatures he had killed, he was already a servant to one. Had she grown attached to Sol? Yes, she had, but not as much as one would think, if he defied her she would just as easily rid him of the life she had given him. Her attention swiftly returned to Leta, awaiting her words and her request.

Vermillion pulled away from Mary, his fingers entwining in her russet locks as he moved. "Then that settles it." Vermillion mused, glaceing around at the room which held his attention..for the most part.. His eyebrows slightly narrowed when the fell on the blond, encircling Rhava like a curious shark.

Vermillion quietly whispered to Mary as she passed him to leave the room."Más szemében a szálkát, magáéban a gerendát sem látja." He wore a cruel smile as the words flowed out of his ancient tongue. Heinrich indeed took him too lightly. Even he himself had obeyed Vermillion's command without hesitation. He had destroyed the Damphire without a second thought. Playing with him would certainly be a thrill vermillion couldn't wait for. His attempts to sway Mary would be futile. He would make sure of it. When Mary was gone vermillion clapped his hands together.

"Now, I do apologize for keeping you all here quite late. Alto you are welcome to stay with me as long as you fancy. Aiden can show you to the guest chambers, or you can dare stay with.. me." He mused with a wide smile as he stared at the blond. His attentions switched to Chloe "Thank you for your information my dear Chloe." He began." It has proven to be valuable. Aiden, Alto and myself will take it from here. You are excused." Vermillion motioned an arm towards the door."Please expect the club to open it's doors within three days time." He finished, taking small steps towards Aiden before finally wrapping his arm around hers.

"What do you say we find something to sate our appetite my dear?" He purred into her ear. His hunger was gnawing at him, and he was sure there would be a repeat with Alto if he chose to stay within the church if he didn't find something to drink. He lead her out of the meeting room, leaving the door open for the others to follow. "If you will.." Vermillion began leaning in close To Aiden's ear. "Would you do me the honours of tidying up the front room? The blinds need to be secured before the day star rises." He whispered. "I'll get you something for all the hard work~" He finished, slowly releasing his arm from hers and making his way towards his room.

He pushed the door open to his living room and made his way to a small mini fridge which stood in the corner of a makeshift kitchen. He opened it carefully examining small packages of blood which lay there and withdrew four packages. Two packages were labelled with a large V - A+, while the last two were labelled with a AB-. He quickly emptied the packages into two fairly large black cups before sticking them into the microwave and heating them for 30 seconds. He took them out, swirled a spoon in each before putting them back in for a little longer and repeating until the temperature reached a warm 98.6 degrees. Human Body temperature.

Vermillion picked up the warm glasses carefully and sat down on the couch, placing the heated mugs on the table in front of him and withdrew his cellphone to check it.

                                                  3 MISSED CALLS

The ********] Vermillion unlocked his cellphone and scrolled through the numbers before checking the voice mail that was left. He pressed his ear to the receiver and listened carefully with a deep frown, crossing his arm over his chest as he listened. A brief memory of when the first telephones had come out crossed his mind and his lips twitched as a smile threatened to fall upon them. Humans were indeed so unpredictable. If someone had asked what he had thought of the 1976 contraption, he would never have guessed it would have become something so small, portable and capable of such ingenious things. A cellphone. What a dangerous tool it had become. Able to broadcast messages within minutes.. Capable of capturing their photographs.. "You have one new message. Hit one to play. Hit two to save. Hit seven to-"

                                                  BEEEEP

A dangerous toy indeed. But oh how useful it had proven to him. Standing in as head of the legal department that he was, Vermillion could listen in on anyone's conversation he so fancied. As long as their signal was wireless, he need not fill out any paperwork to request permission. Vermillion smiled to himself. It had proven useful in tracking down anyone who had become suspicious in their actions. The message began to play and vermillions smile was erased as the female voice rung out through the speaker.

"Vermillion... uh, this is... wait, I'm... yeah, this is Melbourne. I have a problem that I really.. really think we need to discuss..." The voice paused for a moment before continuing. "I will go to the church at nightfall, and.. I think that book of yours might be handy to have around. I don't know though... "He could almost swear he heard the girl sigh into the receiver. Had she been trying long to get his attention? What exactly had happened? Vermillions mind was racing as the message ended. "Just give me a message when you get this. Toodles."

He placed the phone down onto the table, arms crossed thoughtfully as he went through various scenarios. What could have happened? Was it an issue with her Ghoul? Was it Henrich? or perhaps, had the Sabbat been spotted again? Or was she simply bothering him about tentacle monsters hidden in her closest that she needed his help to beat down before she could rest. His frown only deepened the more he thought about what trouble the Malkavian could bring him. Before he knew it he found himself tapping his foot anxiously. The sun was too close for him to go about finding out now. He had no choice but to wait until tomorrow, and that irritated him to no end.

Aiden shivered lightly under Vermillion's touch, it had been a while since she felt his touch on her skin and she had to admit, she missed it. She watched as he moved to Mary and began to mess with her as well. She then shifted her gaze to check on the human and Alto the to the Lady. She got lost in thought as Vermillion spoke to Mary and then the others. She watched them leave one at a time then turned her attention back to Vermillion.

She shivered lightly again as he wrapped his arm around her own and she moved with him out of the room. She nodded and bowed her head as he asked her to clean up the church and get the windows read for the day star." Of course Sire" she bowed her head lightly to him then to Alto as well and headed down the halls mindlessly. She had walked these underground halls many times over the many years she had been with Vermillion. She pushed open the door at the top of the steps and stepped out into the church. She shoved the remaining people outside and locked the doors and turned looking at the bloody mess. She shook her head and started to gather everything she would need to clean up the mess.

Aiden cleaned as fast as she could and soon the blood was gone from the floor and walls. She used her nose to make sure none was left in the cracks or among the bricks. She cleaned one last spot then turned to looked at the windows. The day star was coming up over the horizon and she hadn't closed the windows yet. She dashed over to the closest window and began to close it. She pulled a metal shutter down and locked it in place then moved on to the next few windows doing the same thing.

As she stood looking out the last and biggest of the windows she got lost in the colors of the clouds in the clouds. She stood there thinking about what it would be like to walk among the day walkers again. She was jerked from her thoughts as a single beam of the day stars light came out over the top of a building and hit the exposed part of her left arm. She made a sound and slammed the shutter closed locking it and making her way to the door ******** day star!" She stomped don the steps and made her way down the hallway once more. She pulled her sleeve down over the burned spot and walked back to the meeting room. She bowed to Alto then showed the human girl back to her room for the day.

Aiden walked back into the halls again and headed to Vermillion's room. She knocked on the door while she pushed it open and stood in the door way."The church it taken care of and the human is asleep in her own room Sire." She said as she made her way to the couch from the door. She smiled a little looking at the cups of blood. She could smell one was AB,her personal favorite and the other was A+, Vermillion's type of course. She reached her right hand up and pulled down her left sleeve to make sure the burn was covered. It would heal like all her other wounds did but since it was caused by the light of the day star, it would take a little longer.
