Maybe I'm just confused, so correct me if I'm wrong...

But why do Republicans use public libraries? Why do they allow firefighters to put out their house fires? Why do they call the police when there's trouble somewhere? And other such "public services." Hell, public transportation! Your tax dollars pay for that, dear Republicans.

So...why do they use these other systems? That are, based on -their- criteria of "socialized," are SOCIALIZED.

And of course, the average Republican mind thinks, "SOCIALISM BAD. We're gonna get violent if you help that man and his broken leg! SHAME ON YOU!!!"

Despite what you may think, the average republican is not a mentally retarded, finger-wagging caveman.

I'm pretty sure there's no lower limit on what form of government can be classified as "socialist."

Still, there's plenty of things, like interstate roadways and the military which are federally-run and might be considered "socialist", at least by the definitions of the Right.
Well I am for health care reform, just not a government controlled health care, reform.

The difference is, they're not forced to use the library.
Health care on the other hand...It's either buy it, or pay a fine, or go to jail...sounds forceful, right?

Also, we as people need to learn to be less government dependent and not have to go to the government for everything. Which is what it is coming too.

The banks, GM, health care, student loans.
They're even trying to ban certain foods now...trying to control what one eats. Like Nancy Pelosi said, "It's not just about Health Care, it's about health".
It's my business what I do with my life. Not theirs.

Oh and they're trying to own all water ways now, that is deep enough to float a boat in, and they own most of the left side of the United States.

The point is, they are becoming to power hungry, and it's not a good thing.

This is why I am personally against it. I can't say the same thing for everyone else who is against it.

True...but it is still socialized. The people who come and pick up your garbage in the morning work for the town/city/state what have you. And their jobs are only there because of taxpayer dollars. It's local, but they are there, and they ARE a necessity. Health care is a necessity.

They're just so angry about this...it's helping -them-, too.

It's like...I try to understand their point of view, but it's like hitting my head against a brick wall. The only word I can come up with for them is 'selfish'.

If you truly believe your namesake, I just cannot take you seriously, no matter how well worded your argument is.

He is a complete joke to me. Sorry. =[

Well good for you. You asked our thoughts, I told you mine. Your biased right?
My first impression of you, not a very good one.

I am not Glenn Beck. So don't take my opinion, as Glenn Beck's opinion.

However I have done hours of research on all of this stuff. I can see where he is coming from on alot of what he says. What I said was based on facts, not from Glenn, but my own research. I've done my History homework.

That's right! If something is socialized, and you pay taxes, -you- are -helping- pay for most if not all socialized services.

Didn't say that I didn't.
Libraries can be used, when I want to use them. They're there when I want to use them, or when I need them. They're not forced upon us. I mean it's not like some life alternating government controlled, forced on people plan.
