I went for sushi today and had a hard time counting calories since nothing had nutritional content on them. I used similar items on myfitnesspal for calories (if anything I'm only a little bit off). The good news is I did not finish my sushi either, so they are in the fridge for dinner!

I have good and bad news after going to the orthopedic. The good news is whatever is wrong with my knees is not extreme and can be fixed on my own. The bad news is I can not do any workouts that put my legs in a 90 degree angle (i.e. squats, leg presses, curls, extends, etc.). I have to do leg workouts that keep them straight. If I do this for 3-6 weeks my knees should fix themselves and I will no longer have any issues with them. 4laugh

Also, taking a break today and packing up boxes. Lots and lots of boxes...

    x3 ! That's okay !

I'm not sure about gluten sensitivity [ i'll have to read up on that ] but my condition allows the carbs i eat [ even the healthy ones ] to automatically store as fat. Dx instead of being used as energy as normal bodies usually do. i take a pill that's for diabetics which is supposed to help that, but i also changed Pill brands & i'm hoping there's not a conflict going on there. gonk i actually haven't thought about seeing a nutritionist, & that may help. thanks for the advice ! i definitely need to see an endocrinologist one of these days, too, to balance my hormones.

My fiance went to the doctor's today to talk about his blood work. Turns out his cholesterol and sugar is way too high. You know it's bad if you are told to become a vegetarian. So...because of that I am forced to change our diets for his sake. Now I need to research vegetarian recipes. If anyone had any good recipes PLEASE share them with me. I am in desperate need! I do not want him to go diabetic or anything! He needs to get healthy.

So, even though I have been hovering around 182-186 I have been told my mid section has been getting smaller (thank goodness). Must get rid of that baby belly! It jiggles like jello classified_fu

Japanese quisine offers a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, and fish dishes if he's allowed to eat that as well. I think most Asian quisine offers a lot of vegetable dishes, which combine really well with (cauliflower) rice.

Researching glycemic indexes of food may also help to lower blood sugar.

Don't know what happened, but I've felt knackered all day long. Maybe because I had a slower start than usual, because I didn't have to be at school right from the start. I don't know.
Just haven't been able to feel quite right today. Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow, celebrating 3 years with the BF. We're going out for a nice (fancy) dinner emotion_bigheart

Thank you! I know that to be true because I have eaten Vietnamese almost daily. Unfortunately, he won't eat any of the stuff I do but now he has no choice! I'll check out JustBento for some recipes as well as Just One Cookbook. I have never heard of Cauliflower rice though.

So far I've just been reporting calories eaten, but I think from now on I'm gonna report calories burned from exercise and net calories too. Calories burned is just a rough estimate (thanks MyFitnessPal!) since my treadmill isn't accurate at all, but it'll do.
Spent today on a stand at an info fayre for students, only no students actually turned up. gonk So it was 7 hours of staring at the bowls of sweets I'd brought with me, broken up by a quick trip to Starbucks to collect my free stall holder's coffee. Terrible. Although turns out I can have a skinny caramel macchiato for 100 calories, which isn't bad for a sweet fix and a caffeine fix in one. Not exactly a mocha with whipped cream like my colleague had ( crying the a*****e) but not too shabby. Ate about 200 calories in sweets and resisted the urge to have a free slice of Dominos or five, which was seriously hell. Smelled so good. These fayres are the worst when you're trying to be healthy.

I don't know about Vietnamese, but Japanese has quite a few sweet tones as well, because they incorporate small amounts of sugar in their condiments for vegetables (traditional sesame sauce, for example), and use mirin - a kind of sweet cooking alcohol.

I love JustBento, I have her cookbook as well! I'm still trying to find my feet with the whole new working routine though, so I haven't used it much yet. Hopefully I'll be able to make more after picking up more stuff in Japan in May, teehee User Image

And cauliflower rice is really simple. You cut a cauliflower into florets, which you pulse until it has a rice like consistency/texture. Instead of cooking it in water, you can use it in a stir fry. Just keep the lid on the pan for 5-ish minutes to give the cauliflower time to soften/cook. I'm sure there's a clear step by step recipe on the Interwebs somewhere c:

Starting a new job this week. I now have 2 jobs because I wanna see how this one goes first before actually quitting my retail job. And I love working there.. I just don't get a lot of hours cause it's retail. College is not going to pay for itself, unfortunately.. crying
