The two I opened just last night and last 5 minutes were both aquamarine.

By the way, this is an awesome idea! Maybe consider doing this with the Alchemist's case, and the quest formulas? (i.e. Getting one vs not getting one. [Could be as simple as a poll])

Poke around the forum a bit more; there are threads for both of those, though the complete Alchemist's Case one doesn't get as much attention as it deserves.

Opened a third and fourth and got yet another two aquamarines. (Not a bad thing though, since I can use that to my advantage when needing multiples of a component.) wink

Another update, and suddenly Sapphire and Amethyst are just a stone's throw apart! What could this mean!? (Well, technically it could mean nothing...randomness can be like that...but I'll be on the edge of my seat seeing if this smooths out.)

I have no clue how it happened it is the first time it ever happened I opened 50 caches and got 20emerald and 20 saphires 6 aquas 2garnets 1 gold and 1 amethyst . I thought this was just wierd so I would tell you I don't know if gaia changed the droprates or if it is just horrible luck.
