Gabe and I realized that having cable was a waste of money. We usually watch our shows online anyway, so yay extra money!

We were going to get rid of cable if the hockey season was cancelled
But they ended the lockout like this week or last
So I guess we're keeping it. 3-4 games a week to make up for lost time, apparently.

We got rid of ours just as the regular season for football ended.
Which is cool, because I don't care about football if the Steelers aren't playing, and they didn't make it to the playoffs this year.
Football was really the only thing I would watch on TV, since that's live. I don't mind being a day or two behind with the other things that I watch.

I hope I'm in PA for the Superbowl though, so I can watch it.
I'm kinda sorta really excited about Beyonce doing the halftime show. I freakin' love her.
My inner diva idolizes her.

I grew up in a family that LOVES football.
So basically, it was either learn to love the sport, or be bored as hell and have no idea what anyone was talking about on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (also Mondays and Thursdays now).
Plus I was in marching band in high school. I mean, I had a ton of friends in band, but they were all paying attention to the game as well. I don't know what I would've done if I didn't like football.
I guess be like the dumb cheerleaders who never seemed to know what was going on and sometimes didn't even start cheering until they heard the band play something.

Oh, and I would've missed on the awesomeness that was the Superbowl when it was played in Detroit, whatever year that was. I know the Steelers won that game, too. It was an amazing experience to be able to be there.

tl;dr Football is the only sport I really care about, mostly because of my family. I just find it to be really exciting.

There is never a moment without a sports game on our TV. xD
My dad's watching constantly, and growing up he'd always take us to college football games
I grew up asking him what was going on and learning the plays on the field
But by myself, unless someone else turns it on, I typically don't care about sports
I constantly lose interest in my anime and shows too
