Unknown gaians AIMing/EMAILing you.

There have been so many gaians I don't even know AIMing me! It's soo distracting, and gets me mad sometimes, because they start asking me for gold like they know me. Just now, some guy named darkbender IMed me, and said we talked before, and asked me what age I was. And I had no idea who this guy was! Has this even happened to you before? Do you think this promotes cybering in any way?

Tome the Kitty: We don't have AIM, plus we don't give our emails to strangers. Therefor we avoid people like these.

Me: However, we do get lots of PMs. Best thing to do? Ignore them. Delete their mails. I prefer making my own friends. Hell, by replying on a PM I even got us a copycat.

Tome: Go figure. rolleyes And cybering? Who knows. Cybering has always been an issue on Gaia, so maybe so, or not.

The only way Gaians can contact me is on Gaia, so I can report inappropriate PMs. I've not had but a few random PMs that made me more stupid for having attempted to read them, so I consider myself blessed.

That said, people who can spell have always been welcome to contact me. smile

Usually when I set up a thread in the exchange, or just put up an item in the marketplace that's really hot at the moment, I get PMs and IMs from random people, asking for a lower price or donations or whatever. And sometimes when I post my pics in a Chatterbox thread, I get more PMs and IMs asking for cyber, since some people find me attractive...not to sound conceited or anything... *hides mirror*

I usually ignore these, though there have been a few times when I just gave a few hundred gold or a cheap item that I didn't want, just because in their PM/IM they actually provided a link to their quest thread.

I keep my AIM screenname available though so I can make easier deals/negotiations when I'm selling off higher up deals in the exchange.

But begging/cyber are the reasons I don't give out my codec frequency. >.>

but I do like to get IMs from people thats why you have a block bution. if you only taleked to people you knew you would talk to no one. very ones a stranger a person you dont know.
