I was just casually going through the GCD when I came across someone who mentioned that they found most events now dry and repetitive. It made me wonder: are events REALLY dry and repetitive, or have we just gotten used to them? Because although I agree that most events past 2008 (not kick-starters, I mean actual events) attract me only marginally, I can't help but think if I was a new user on Gaia, or 13 years old, some of the more recent events might actually be more interesting to me. I mean, think about it, how original can you REALLY make forum events?
I joined in the October of 2005, just a few days before the Halloween event. Honestly, I can't even really tell what it was about, other than a glorified bumping contest, but I loved it. And I would participate in it again, even though I haven't joined in an event in years.
CHOO CHOO, HERE COMES THE spoon TRAIN!
- If you can design any type of forum event, what would it be like? What kind of goals are there? What kind of prizes do you get for each tier? Would it be easy but time consuming or hard to play?
- What was your favourite event? Be fair... was it actually really good, and you were just a little newer? What made it good? The plot, the game itself, or even just something that happened during it that made you remember it fondly? How far did you get?
