Onyx ran as fast as she could but it was like the guard said, not all would be in agreement to her presence. She had made it back before the mob could really get at her...she stared up her board walk...her mind was racing, her heart smashing. She was so torn. Flee and leave it all behind or stay and fight.
"People are going to die....No one's going to die. They will hunt you. I'll survive." from her inner breast pocket she pulled the potion she made. She would smash a button on the outside of her ship that would reel the boardwalk up. She hopped she was making the right decision.
Onyx had made a promise to those on board her ship that no harm would come to them while she could help it. Okay, she wasn't a God and she wasn't exactly the ideal heroine figure. But, Onyx always tried to give her best and there were people on board her ship that really needed this protection. The board walk was slow.
"C'mon, c'mon! Hurry!" her head turned to see that coming up towards her like a sand storm the angry mob was speeding for her.
< Raziel! I'm in trouble! If anything happens to me....you know what to do! > and that quickly...Raziel had appeared on deck.
Raziel could see that the board walk had been lifted. He could see the herd of people with their weapons, torches coming for Onyx. He looked down at her with a face full of worry and saw in her hand what she had.
"ONYX! NOOOOO!" but he was too late.
< Ten Minutes Raziel...it's all I have... > WHAM she threw the bomb. The bottle broke against the side of her ship and a shield was cast upon it. NOTHING COULD GET IN OR GET OFF HER SHIP NOW.
Onyx spun around to face her angry fans. They all came to a halt before her, snarling, like a pack of angry wolves.
"Your quarrel...is with me! The people on board my ship are HUMAN!" she lied fiercely. We all know she could be very convincing.
"I will NOT allow you to harm innocent people aboard this ship! It is against the (your) law! Whether you hate me or not! ... but I promise you...justice...will....be....served." she growled and now she reached for her whip.
There came a group running up behind the angry posse that were determined to defend and up hold Onyx and the law and the fight...would commence.
A quick draw up her whip she lashed and slashed who she could. She aimed to drain their energies enough to render them immobile and like a vampire she fueled up. Her veins coursed with so much energy that eventually she had to stop. Other wise she would essentially serge out. She was doing great at first but the word spread like wild fire until the whole town was down at port throwing fists and fighting for the greater good or...the greater retribution. Onyx...didn't seem them as Evil. She saw them as angry and scared. Human. None of these people were baby killers, rapists, serial killers, drug lords, or into darker seedier deeds that Onyx took care of. She didn't want to hurt anyone had she had her way. But the chaos gave birth to more chaos and about four to five men tackled Onyx from behind and began to stab her repeatedly.
She screamed to the pain. Shrill and loud. Her eye's shot up to her ship, the last anyone would see on their Captain before being dragged into the thick of the crowd. Her blood ran out, pouring into the streets, smeared in spatters across her face and Onyx was forced to defend herself or die. Onyx placed her hands upon various people....she let those eye's flicker, let the pupil of her eye's wash away...small zaps of light came from within the crowd. She was draining the life of others until they dropped dead! Each time this would happen their energy would give her the strength to keep going as her wounds began to heal. It was painful because right when something would close, someone was right there to reopen it.
Onyx's eye's flickered to a red, she could not contain her anger any longer. Her entire body burst into flames. Her long dark black hair began to change into that of the color of blood. It was long, longer than even her usual thigh length black hair. Her face was human but...there was also something alien about it too. Bird like.
Raziel stood on deck pacing watching this horror, pissed, oh how he wanted to just go down there and murder the stupidity from this town...but Raziel wasn't really human no matter how hard he tried to blend in. Everything inside of him constricted and conflicted. It was wrong to the way he chose to live. His mother now stood on deck, Linia...
< You have to help her... >
< Do i? >
< I am asking you to! How could you just let her go like that? >
< Raziel...the damage has already been done. It...isn't wise to meddle with human ways. Your such a stupid child. You will learn. >
< DO this...for me!? >
< ... will you start to get back to your true roots if I do? > Linia turned her head and saw Onyx ignite. She and only she had figured out long ago at the Lost Nights how to break the Phoenix from Onyx. It was actually very quite simple...in theory.
< By the way son..you could have left the ship. We are not bound by this magic... > she grinned before sinking down into the floor boards.
Linia, in her human form came 'from out of nowhere', right as she had made her firey transition and punched her. The force was enough to knock the woman out and to send her flying. The red in Onyx's hair receded and the flames died out instantly. The Phoenix was not an elemental. It was a part of her, it was utilized by Onyx's chi. She would tap into this inner being, it's energy to use it's abilities. If Onyx was unable to tap, the Phoenix would be cut off from her and her to it. Onyx...no longer moved.
Linia whipped around and let her true form show! Standing over Onyx's body like she owned the woman she let her jaw drop. Linia let out a resounding roar taking a very aggressive defensive stance. Well...the humans of Lockeport took one look at this and booked it! Even it it meant climbing over people to get away! This fight was over. A rain began to fall...it was soft but it was enough to wash what blood had been spilled. Guards dragged off the wounded in a hurry, others staggered away on their own. Linia turned around to look at the very still Onyx, she who's body was left steaming in the wake of cold rain.
