◈ The Golden Buzzer ◈

This year on America's Got Talent, like on other talent and singing shows, the golden buzzer has been added. With the golden buzzer, any judge can put an act through regardless of what the other judges think or how they vote. The golden buzzer can only be pressed once by each judge during auditions for a total of four golden buzzer acts. Thus far, Howard Stern is the only judge to have pressed the golden buzzer this season, amusingly on the very first episode.

◈ Evalution ◈

The golden buzzer took a certain turn for its debute. It crashed and burned. While Mel B and Heidi Klum didn't seem to press the button at all, Howard and Howie's picks were both rejected during Judgement Week. If I were the producers, I would have done my best to edit out and cover up this idea entirely. They'll probably try it again next season, though. Hopefully someone will prove to be right over the other judges.
