I hate people who think they know what they are doing.

I had to completely reformat a computer because the user decided to infect his computer, and then disable Win7's System Protection which would let me use any of the system restores I had made (he disabled it in the name of "game performance" ).
System restore discs and Factory default restores all fail, so I am forced to reinstall with a fresh win8 consumer preview disc to get the system running so I can install from the factory default disc.

Blah.....that's why I try to set up a ghost image of any fresh system, if they have storage.

Yes, blackmail/extortion is something you should never ever do, in any circumstance. Ever. Seriously. No really. I settled out of court instead.

So, guys, I used to full time web design. That's since fallen to the wayside in favour of full time work and a steady pay check, and for good or for ill, I've got maybe dozen clients still who want constant updates but never have the energy or motivation to do them for them. There's maybe three (four, until their contract runs out) that I'd like to keep around into the forseeable future, but the rest? Don't care if they live or die. But they're on my hosting servers, so I've got an issue here.

What's the easiest way to cut these clients loose? I'm happy to give them their websites in code form, I simply just don't have the ******** energy for it to be my problem anymore, despite the occasional pay.

Talk to them about it. Try to work something out, such as they try to find a new host because you'll give them say, 2 months? I know that sounds like a long time compared to how you don't want to work, but unless you're under a contract with them, that gives them plenty of time to find someone else, and plenty of time for them to get over you dropping them.

if you do, I'd say get a 3g one. even if you don't use the 3g, it has GPS....which is nice.

I would. I, from a certain point of view, did. Runs great, the new ipad has a retina display for $0 extra, jailbreaking before 5.1 is easy, lots of homebrew. I don't much like Apple, used to use their computers quite a bit, but this is a solid product, more like a purpose-built touchscreen laptop than I thought it was going to be.

Yeaaaah, i got the 3g version, but i never use that functionality. I'm on one of the granfathered in unlimited AT+T wireless plan people, and I can't use that plan on my ipad. I'd have to pay Dolerns per Month for a feature I haven't really used. I get the same service from the wifi hotspot ability on my phone :/
