I was hunting ducks
several summers ago
I went down a hill over some rusty trucks,
to the duck blind, looking to and fro.
Ducks were on my mind and nothing else. While
I was walking I spotted an old peddle car full of bullet holes.
I stashed the location in my mind. It was next to a pile
of logs. A month later I returned to retrieve the toy car. One of my goals,
was to restore said Item.
After a good sandblasting,
new wheels were installed and the seat
recovered, also rechromed the windshield.
I did not who made this toy or what make, but it was neat.
I was old, 1930's old. After it was painted I took it to the field
Took pictures of the peddle car
with old run down buildings behind.
I painted a sign saying "Bonnie and Clyde's Peddle Car" Where are
the bullet holes? Why I welded them, are you blind.
I sold it at a Swap Meet
for eight hundred dollars
and I thought to my self this is sweet,
at an auction later I saw one of the callers
pay twice as much. I still don't know who made the toy
but it must have been a very rare antique pile of metal.
To think long ago it was made for a young boy
who road on the dirt humming songs while he peddled.
