It didn't take Hawk's advise for Lee to deposit his cash back into his wallet. The thief scowled sourly at the venomous superiority this elitist snake was spitting. While he as well not not versed in elvish, especially this dialect, it didn't take a multilinguist to detect snide remarks and combative expressions.
"I think your boy just tried to threaten me, Hawk," Lee replied crossly, once "Sy" had made himself scarce. Nodding in agreement to Jessie's proposition, he had up and finished his text, burying his phone back into his trousers. "Are all of your informants vamps? And assholes? >_>" Lee questioned, but this business was never short of its sleezy getaround-knowitalls. Speaking of which...
"Oh! By the by, I got my cousin working on tracking down your VIPs..." Lee said, walking Hawk back to their car, paying little mind to Mel and Jo. "She's runs the informants around this town - if it's happened, chance are, she heard it first. I hope that ship 'a yours has good signal?" As he escorted himself back into his vehicle, and gave the chauffeur the update, he waved goodbye to the girls.
"Au revoir, ladies! We got a flight to make! Good luck thawing your TV dinner!" And off they went...
"Jo, Mel, ge' everythin' se' up to save Fan'. I shall mee' ye there. Or me firs' mate may. Either way I mus' hea' back to me ship firs'."
::Jessie turned and headed towards the car once again. Getting into the car with Lee, Jessie smirked to himself. It was good to be back. Sy was not an informant though, it almost made Jessie sad to think about how such a gifted individual would sink so low as to be almost a monster. To each their own though. Jessie wasn't ever able to get on Sy's good side, just his tolerable side.::
"I wouldn' really call him an informan' mate. Sy is more o' a mutual ally o' sorts. Lon' story really."
::Jessie signed remembering those times. He also missed Osiris as well as Gaspard. The old crew were a great group of mates.::
"VIP's eh? Well how is tha' goin'? Me ship can be contacte', once there I'll give ye the bes' code to reach us a'. Drive towards the southern shorelines. I lande' her there."
((Holiday was great Neon! Thank you and it's okay if you were a bit late, how was your holiday my friend!))
[ Isle de Gambino ]
Arriving at the exact coordinates (via Jesse's bad directions), Lee emerged from the car with investigating eyes. After a moment of looking, he shot a confused glance back at his pirate confidante.
"... well? Where is it!" The Irishman flailed, before bopping his head into an invisible something. Stumbling back, rubbing the sore from his forehead, Lee had unknowingly happened upon the pirated spacecraft. Foregoing his bruise, Lee became enamored by that which he could not see, curiously inspecting the flying saucer until Jesse decided to unveil it.
"Whoa. So I guess this proves it... we are not alone." Lee observed. "I've seen my share of crazy s**t my lifetime, Hawk. But never did I think I'd ever step foot inside a flying saucer. Is this safe? I don't need any kinda training for this, do I?" Jesse would note a mix of hesitance, but also excitement in Lee's shaky voice. He'd just bought the express ticket to Weirdsville.
::Once they were finally there Jessie hopped on out. Snickering to himself after Lee had hit his head the Pirate King pulled out a little device and clicked a button. The flying saucer was a little more then just a saucer. When it originally arrived here it was just that a saucer. Jessie had some new expansions coming out from the tale end of the vessel, once he figured out where it was that is.::
"Aye we foun' tha' one ou' ages ago Lee. Tell ye the truth, if one o' them Zur' didn' kill their brother in col' bloo' this ship may no' be here now."
::Jessie walked onto the ship waving for Lee to follow. He lead the fellow ally down some corridors until they came to the bridge of the ship. Stations littered the area. Weapons array, communications, Captains chair, engineering stations, security, life support, everything.::
"Aye she be a fine, an' very safe ship."
::He pondered a moment. Before letting out a brief sigh.::
"Al ussta dalninuk, F'sarn ghil, nin vel'bol?"
::Jessie whispered that last part.::
"Keep an' eye ou' mate. There jus' may be an' ol' frien' o' mine still aboar'. If ye see him le' me know. Be Elf-kin like meself."
*A good many memories...memories (and were it not for the wonders of atmospheric scrubbers and filtration running on the crafts redundant systems, a good heavy coating of dust most likely) and long shadows were the reply to Jessie's words. The years had passed, rather in a blur so many near catastrophes averted, friends gained and lost....all in the wake of what had happened in this place. A pivotal chance meting and partnership that had spiraled outward...and now here again where it had all began what it seemed awaited Jessie and Lee in toe...was an empty vessel full of whispers and memories undercut by the steady hum and throb of it's own quiet pulse. Monitor banks, gleaming dully languidly displaying information in the cryptic alien tongue of it's former masters, hummed quietly lending at least some ambiance to what would have otherwise been an eerily quiet place where silence laid heavy as the grave.
Buried beneath the stretch of empty silence the movement was startlingly easy to miss...then and again when ones eyes are filled with what should be it can be startling in difficulty to spot the small things out of place. With the fullness of the bridge, empty and beautiful in it's own alien design and symmetry or lack thereof where it did apply...one was scarce drawn to look at their own feet. The oddly directionless light filtering down from above cast soft illumination but few shadows, those that did lurk were but small and trivial things...at least that was as it should have been however the shadows of the two that stood regarding the empty bridge looking for the one who had in his own right summoned them there stretched long behind them, as though they stood before the rising sun reaching long until the bridge doors slid shut behind them with a quiet hiss casting those shadows tall upon its gleaming surface. There it was behind the stretch of their vision the change had truly begun. Those tall shadows began to writhe...twisting and shifting turning in upon themselves as though things alive and with a purpose. Their twisting mass folding inward upon themselves and spreading outward, wider and wider in silent proliferation until the whole of the circular portal that had granted them egress was shrouded in a darkness thick enough that one might have mistaken it for the bridge hatch being coated in an unnaturally dark tar...lacking even the hint of a gleam or liquid luster. As it was from within the depths of that darkness sprang forth a light...small at first but growing quickly its silvery radiance stood in near painful contrast to the darkness about it the bright point gleamed in the center of the darkness a lone star in the empty black and that light began to spread. Not outward as a light should but rather growing along a direct and vertical line thin and keen as a razors edge reaching its apex at the relative boundary of the floor and the upper curve of the hatch itself.
What happened next was...vexing...at least it would have been for one looking directly at it...to describe to any who had not. That sinuous silvery line of light...twisted without twisting, seeming in its own respect to curl in upon itself without ever truly moving a sight that might in and of itself drive a rational mind to a splitting headache if not worse...twisted and widened as though tearing apart that very air itself opening into a ragged and gaping hole in the fabric of what was...beyond...a darkness that was not darkness...and hungering swirl of a vastness that the mind could not wholly grasp leaving only the impression of a great and indescribable hunger and a power that might shrivel even the stoutest of beings in abject terror...it was from this portal...this Gateway...that eyes regarded the backs of the two standing before it, one familiar the other not.
Silent were the steps of the soft soled black boots, broken down and worn from countless miles traveled down countless roads, upon the deck. Silent too the shift of the black robes that shrouded the tall and slender frame, arcane and sweeping runes worked in gold and silver tracing their hems. As he emerged, the Gateway behind him beginning already to close in upon itself. The figures eyes, twin pits of molten gold seaming to hang within a darkness that shrouded all but themselves in impenetrable blackness, lit with an unseen smile...it had been a long time...a very very long time for himself though none but Jessie might have known the full extent of the why...breathing in the familiar air of a plane not walked upon in what to him had been perhaps an age or more Palin Darksword at last spoke. His voice was a soft thing...shy by a touch of being a whisper and yet it carried well, a gentle compelling thing a voice for telling stories to a wondering crowd before a lit hearth in the dead of night...a voice of secrets and authority* "Ul'kas dos zhahen, lu'nin dos inbal doer...'zil whol vel'bol zhah huthin Dalninuk...orn lu'zak pholor l'arlathil d'dosst ssrig'luin. Neitar l'n'nehr...dos inbal ul'kas lu'ghil Usstan tlun ulu an'yui"
::The sound of the voice brought a smile upon the Captain's face. It was a long time since he saw his First Mate and brother in arms. Palin Darksword was indeed on the ship. Captain Hawk turned his head and pulling his silver strands out from in front of his red hue's the Dark Elf looked upon one of his best friends and family.::
"Aye mate."
::Hawk looked over to Lee as he introduced himself. Jessie smirked as Lee gave a pretty well thought out intro. Hopefully this is exactly what they needed.::
"Siyo Usstan inbal ul'kas, Dalninuk Usstan tlun wun ssrig'luin d'xxizz. Mzilt uriu lakr'ia ghil wun l'tresk'ri yol udos vaen Kirn'. Udos ssrig'luin xxizz wun xonathull, 'zil al 'zil saving Fan' Lunar, dal fol s'enar d'bekseshar. "
::Jessie explained in quick detail what they needed. With all his heart he hoped that his brother would be able to help him out in some way.::
"Once tha' be taken care off, well, Usstan orn'la naut shar ka dos zexen'umaus whol l'jivvin p'luinda dalninuk."
::Hawk ended with a smile.::
*At the assessment of Lee the gleaming gold of those eyes that hung within the darkness of the drawn cowl widened first perhaps in what one could have been called surprise. The expression, as limited as one could discern through the unnatural darkness within the drawn cowl, was not long lived the light within those odd eyes warming perceptibly, pale and graceful long fingered hands emerging from the depth of the dark robes sleeves rose upward to draw back the cowl giving those with perhaps a sharper eye than most a chance to see that...while graceful yes and well suited to spellcraft those hands may have been, they bore the marks and heavy callous of one more than well versed in the use of a blade or other such weapons. As the cowl was drawn away the oddly flat seeming quiet light of the bridge illuminated full the features of Palin Darksword. As Lee had suspected he was not, at least perceptibly, of Drow stock then and again his features marked him alien looking not quite of the blood of any elf kin that drew breath on Gaian soil. His features, while graceful and refined in the handsome yet achingly beautiful manner that most elf kin possessed, were sharper...harder. The lines of his jaw and cheekbones sharply defined giving his face, though warmed and graced by a gentle smile that lightly curled his pale lips, a sever and rather archaic look. Like the statues of old they were features of poise and wisdom...this beauty however was not without fault, about his brow situated as one might wear a circlet or crown of elven make wound a sinuous marking of emerald hue. Rather than a tattoo or tribal marking this seemed in some manner branded into the flesh, while not scarred or puckered to lay eyes upon it one was invariably struck by a strong wave of caution knowing its meaning or not...and well so they should have been for such was it's purpose, declaiming the marked as a Dark Elf...cast out and reviled by their kin, one damned from the light for some grievous sin or another.
All that set aside however the smile only grew as the elf moved at last, the motion itself fluid grace in action the soft rustle of his robes at last falling upon the air as he sketched a formal and welcoming bow towards Lee, though his eyes never left the mans own speaking in the common tongue though the odd accent that had touched upon his words before lingered still* "Majesty no I am afraid though you flatter my personage Lee Enfield of Clan Moerae. It is my very great pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am simply Palin, and would be greatly pleased if you would call me so, this one gave up any such aspirations of royal standing long long ago though many would be there who might try to claim otherwise none walk this verse at the very least...the mantle or rule sits ill upon the Darksword name and to be honest I would have no idea of what to even do with such a thing"
Those words still lingering he turned drawing up and moving forward in a singular motion with hardly a warning at all and without a word to Jessie, swept his arms wide and drew the other man into a warm and almost fierce embrace speaking at long last as he drew back his hands on the other mans shoulders as he examined his old friend, his comrade in arms, one whom he proudly called brother, from head to toe as one will with someone they have not seen in far far to long speaking at last* "Forgive me Captain but bearing the circumstance family will hug family given so long apart as it has been...far longer for me as you can perhaps guess and I must apologize for being gone for so long...other such things had called away my attention and despite the fact there are none here now to enforce them there are rules that must be followed when one such as I will return to a place such as this from away that need be followed"
This said however his smile did fade, it was a slow thing but in that smiles retreat some of the light seemed to go from the room returning it to the dimness that had before been so prevalent or perhaps it was all but a trick of the mind * "Dos zhaun Usstan orn dortho vel'klar Usstan shlu'ta dalninuk rilu'oh...l'fuu'ux dos joros d'uns'aa zhah naut uss Usstan zhaun nindel Usstan shlu'ta tlu d'dortho" *this said he shook his head lowering his arms hands vanishing once more into the dark fabric of his robes as he spoke* "Of all that I know and all the skills that I possess... I am and always have been worse than useless when it comes to enchantments...I could examine the weave of it for you, tell you in exhaustive detail the manner of magic used to devise and construct it however replicating it myself or even in some cases dismantling it are skills that I am at best a novice in at worst a bungler" *His brow furrowed as his eyes traveled between the two men seeming to read something in their manner or other before nodding* "Though if I do not miss my guess Sy has mentioned as much to you already if you had not seen evidence enough on it on our last adventure Ussta Dalninuk"
