arrow Lian's Manor--Ladies Ward
Lian hefted the basket of supplies for dinner with a heavy thud, panting. She hadn't quite gotten back to full strength but getting out and about was helping. For the time that she was still recovering, she could barely pick up her youngest daughter and the poor child clung to her legs for a few days until Yai shape-shifted into a pony. Huffing, she started to separate out the groceries when the mage-turned-servant came into assist her. His hair, traditionally kept long while in the magery, was cut short but just long enough. Lian was generous enough to keep a little length for heritage-sake. He helped her, but kept his head low. "Yai hasn't been thrashing you again, has he?"She asked, startling the young mage who shook his head.
"It was only that one time...I can see his reason for being angry."Yuri muttered as he put potatoes in a strainer so they could be washed and then peeled. He ran the sink for a little while, keeping his back to Lian who took a seat with a sigh. "I told him to leave you be. Have you gotten all the tiling done like I asked you to?"She asked. Lian found out that the mage was skilled in making mosaics, painting and other arts so she kept him busy with a personal project in a room that she had been keeping a secret for a while. It was her personal hideaway when she was frustrated or wanted some alone time with Ark away from the children or any new house guests. It had previously been a sealed off room to a final 5th floor of the manor that was just a slightly jutting tower. The breeze was pleasant and there was a view that encompassed the city from the three windows. Unfortunately, it needed some work so she put the mage to work.
"Well...Its a big project...I've gotten half of it done in the time that I've been here....and then there's your workshop that I still need to paint...and the nursery mural..."He muttered as she pulled the potatoes out from the water, grabbing a peeler and getting to work.
"Aye...you are nifty to have around...Ark never seemed the type to paint and everyone else is too busy or too small."Lian said as she got up, shuffled over to a compost bin that she kept in the kitchen to be transferred out to the larger one in her atrium. Sitting down, she started to shuck the corn that she had gotten for dinner that would be roasted on a grill instead of boiled like it usually was. The potatoes would be cooked and then mashed later. Yuri managed a small smile as he peeled the potatoes, a little embarrassed. "Have you seen Arkravis around at all?"She asked him, Yuri shrinking some.
Arkravis had been...patient with him...despite what he had been a part of. Anytime he was around, there was this looming shadow that engulfed him, scaring him and he soon fled away like a coward from where they were. Lian didn't see it, but Yuri could. Arkravis seemed like evil incarnate. "I...haven't. I know Terra's in the garden with Yai playing in the pool, um...Tresondros hasn't come back from the tournaments yet...Lady Lovi hasn't come by today but the postman did come with a package. Its in your office...and it was fairly large."Yuri said, ducking his head a little lower. He could hear Lian sigh, and resume shucking the corn with a bit of agitation. The 'damn hormones' she kept raging on about.
"Must be the ultrasound machine. I had one ordered to keep track of...it..."Lian said, giving him a bit of a stink eye. Yuri had been very vague about what his brothers had implanted inside of her. As far as she knew, it was a child. They hadn't violated her, but they did something that was along the lines of what someone would do during in vitro fertilization. Whatever was inside her though...He knew that his brothers were still alive and watching, so he wouldn't dare say anything further than what they physically did. Lian got up, retrieved some tin foil and started to wrap some of the corn in it before continuing shucking.
"Right..."Yuri muttered. "It. Or She. Or He..."
