"If you read this line, remember not the hand that wrote it
Remember only the verse, songmaker's cry the one without tears
For I've given this its strength and it has become my only strength.
Comforting home, mother's lap, chance for immortality
where being wanted became a thrill I never knew
The sweet piano writing down my life"

When Othin expressed her approval for Lumina's outfit of choice, it made the cat-elf grin like a little kid, happy to have the approval of someone she respected. Besides the fact that Othin was an Ancient, there was something about her that made Lumina want to trust her, to devote whatever she could give to her service. Othin felt like the kind of person that Lumina wanted to follow into happier times. With a smile still in place, Lumina flicked her tail in greeting to Marina before falling into step beside her, their group making their way to the king's audience chamber. Othin and the woman, who was identified as Kana, held their own conversation, a comfortable back and forth that was pleasant to listen to. Marina looked over at Lumina and asked about what she could possibly want if it meant becoming a Neko. She was clearly trying not to step on toes and be nice about it, but it just made the elf laugh companionably, her ears perked up and her tail curled in delight.
"Well, I'm not sure what I can tell you about the deal, as the person who I made it with seems to be rather secretive. So, the most that I am going to say is that this arrangement will give me new knowledge about something that I really need. I'm hoping to glean as much as I can from the lessons so that when we finish, I can continue on my own and get even better at it." Lumina's tone was light and honest, her passion for learning clear as day in her eyes. The moment was ruined however when she thought back to the ruins of the house, trying to remember where the letter that Kyoku had given her was. With a wince and a sigh, she bit her lip and eyed the floor before her in thought. Lumina would have to find the time to go back there and salvage what she could of the house. Maybe if she at least made the effort to clean up what she could, her Grandmother would understand? It was worth the try.
After a little while longer of walking and talking, the group finally reached the throne room doors. Steeling her nerves by taking a deep breath, Lumina smoothed down her dress and hair, hoping that she didn't look too out of place. Upon entering the grand hall, though, it didn't look like she would draw that much attention as Othin seemed to move with an ethereal grace, her head held high and her presence becoming more obvious. When the group reached the king, Othin eyed him with a speculative glance, having made her mind up about something before speaking. Her words flowed with grace and surety, but they weren't exactly what everyone in the room wanted to hear. Othin pointed out flaw after flaw with the King's entire operation, her bold and powerful words ringing with truth as they sounded through the hall. People were shifting uncomfortably, muttering angry words and glaring at the group with barely hidden irritation. Seeing her companions all standing tall and proud made her want to do the same, so Lumina blanked her face and straightened to her full height, her ears and tail going back as she stared at the King's face. Inside though, she was hoping that Othin's words hadn't ticked off His Majesty to the point of him wanting to throw them out.
Needless to say, she was shocked by his booming laughter and unimpressed demeanor. Was this man daft? Even Lumina understood what Othin was saying, agreeing with several of her points. If The King hadn't given the order for that last battle in the plains to take place, then there would be more soldiers here to use for a future assault against Ethrialan forces. Lumina sincerely hoped that Lady Kana would be able to prove him wrong and score a win for Hua, even though the thought of more violence and death made her sick. As much as Lumina loved lending her skills to the war effort, she still dreamt of the dead faces and voices of those that she had helped. It was a tough thing for her to live with, but she somehow managed, smiling through the pain and moving forward. Glancing up at the King, Lumina pleaded with her eyes for his understanding. She just knew that with Othin's help, this war could be flipped in Huan favor. All it would take would be just a little bit of trust.
To Lumina's surprise though, it was unnecessary. Othin came forward and spoke in disappointment to the King, removing her dress and showing her back to him. Though Lumina couldn't exactly see what was there, she knew that it wasn't necessary. Othin revealed herself to be a Moonacray, a direct descendant of the great Oonia and Cedric, and immediately, Lumina's mind flashed to a symbol of an intricate and beautiful dragon holding a single moonacre flower. She had seen it somewhere in one of her Grandmother's sketchbooks, understanding that it was a symbol long lost to this generation. Othin turned back around, her unabashed and naked form standing proud and beautiful in her cold authority. Seeing the tattoo first hand, Grandmother's sketch didn't do it justice, Lumina decided. "Oh, Sun by the Earth. If this King doesn't start groveling now, he might just lose his only chance at saving his kingdom. I can only hope that he listens to reason here and makes the right choice." Glancing back and forth between the King and Othin, Lumina decided that she was in way over her head here.
"Teach me passion for I fear it's gone
Show me love, hold the lorn
So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me
I'm sorry
Time will tell (this bitter farewell)
I live no more to shame nor me nor you
And you... I wish I didn't feel for you anymore...
Show me love, hold the lorn
So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me
I'm sorry
Time will tell (this bitter farewell)
I live no more to shame nor me nor you
And you... I wish I didn't feel for you anymore...
