Besides, I guess I thought that Reida and Sythe had a more casual relationship, so in my
head she was totally unattached romantically, which doesn't seem right for our lovely siren.

At first, when we were first planning it that's the direction we were going, but it changed the more we started developing our characters and discussing their relationship.
In this present moment in time, they are rather casual. 'Reida does have feelings for Scy, but she knows how he is. It is a future development we're planning for them.

xd She wouldn't know what to do with them.
What I do imagine is that when he goes ape-s**t crazy, she'd probably cast a freeze spell over him, essentially causing him to stop. At that moment, she'd walk up and take the charm from him, reverting his arms/hands back to normal, and ground him from the charm until he can prove to be better behaved/responsible.
