I love anime and I don't care if I show it.
I bring mangas to school, draw in class (when I'm finished my work) and talk abot it with people.
But that's not the only thing I'm interested in. I can understand people getting annoyed with people who only talk about anime and nothing else.
But people who show interest in other things and have a life outside of anime don't deserve to be riticuled.
Being teased about liking something is the worst feeling ever, and you obviously don't deserve it.
The people around you must have gotten their image of people who like anime from those girls in your class.

I love anime too and I'm not afraid to show it 4laugh
anime is awesome
The anime girls like that wouldn't even talk to me. XD (Well at the time it was InuYasha and Trigun everyone was obsessed with.) They were assholes lol. They were also fan girls and they claimed they were "Kagome" and "Kagome's Clone" and they'd fight over Inuyasha. Guessing the Naruto pose is nothing compared to those idiots... stare

Situation 2: I brought a manga book to school, Princess Ai. From that day forth I'm known as "Anime-girl" That really annoys me. I love anime but being that's really bias. Just because I like anime doesn't mean I don't have other interest, and they act like I don't.

I can relate to that, I brought a manga with me to read to school and carried it with me to my science class and one of my friends think those "anime books" are gross, probally because they never actually read one and they thinks its mainly porn, which really bugs me. And I'm not much of an anime freak, I like manga more. If im a freak over anything it'd be shonen-ai heart because thats what I mainly like in the entertainment area, not limiting my self to just anime or manga. But yeah she keeps asking me why I like anime and I keep answering with the same answer, the story. Simple, no?
If I was looking for somthing thats mostly comidy I would watch cartoons or something else. (Note: Im not saying that anime is not comedic, but there serious when they need to be, well most of the time.)

I find it funny that you're calling other people idiots when, based on your signature, you're one of the worst kind of slash fangirls: one who can't accept hetero pairings and try to shove homo pairings down other people's throats.
You're just not cool.

Bah, anybody who tries to shove any "so called homo/hetero/bestial pairings" down other people's throats are annoying in my opinion. Or I hate those who makes me want to change my opinions on the pairings I find good. It's not like if I tried to shove my opinions/tastes in their nose.

I like anime but I don't really show-sometimes if i do get the nerve to talk about anime I meet some cool people. My school has so many people-no one really makes fun of people who like anime-I see girls walking around with Naruto headbands and a lot of other stuff like that-no one really cares, no makes fun of them unless they are dressed so outrageous you can't help but notice them.
it depend's really... I don't see what's wrong with being interested in another culture, or just liking something because you can, seriously, there are obsessed people, and there are people who think, "japan is japan this is america!" and crap like that, people can't accept the fact you like something, here's a good suggestion, cosplay as a new character everyday all school year, that might get to them....

well actually I think it'd be better to ignore them, anime isn't shunned at my school... but the only anime people seem to know of are pokemon, sailor moon, and digimon... and they thought it was horrible so they shun any anime style after they saw it, so that has to be it, that or I'm not too sure.
People can be either really stupid or meddling usually because they're bored or think they'll look cool or something. Students in my old school used to make fun of me for liking Anime. They said it was kiddy stuff. I was like: "Are you mentally challenged? Anime is for adults." Just because they have only seen the edited versions... I have seen only a few uncut Anime that are good for children and I mean a FEW. Besides, boys and girls in my school had Spongebob Squarepants, Bob the Builder, and Tinker Bell backpacks. I wanted to laugh out loud in their faces. And they laughed at me because I watched "kiddy" stuff? Geez, and they say I'm the weird one. sweatdrop

I can't stand the fangirls who think they like yaoi, when all they know is mxm slash, and they bash both hetero and fxf pairings for no reason. It irks me, especially since yaoi is essentially hetero anyway.

Interesting post.

I agree. Anime certainly isn't cool by most standards. I love it, but it's still very geeky and obscure. And I dare say that I like it that way.
I don't see how it is geeky at all. It's not for geek people, seeing I am not one and over half my school are not geeks as well. confused
