Awe, it's okay. I struggled for a long time with 'religion'. I was the person who wanted to get my way into heaven by my own works.
I also didn't know what being religious meant and what a relationship with Him meant. I'm still learning though.
I hope I didn't come off as mean or anything :3 it wasn't my intention. Anyway, please don't hesitate to message me back anytime.

Ah..please don't misunderstand what I'm about to say .. :3
I'm not religious. I hope to never be. Let me explain : )
being 'religious' to me, is to follow rules perfectly in order to please God and in order to get to Heaven.
The thing is though..there's no way that I can get to Heaven solely by doing good works and following a set of rules perfectly.
I'm very much a sinner. And being a sinner..I can't make my way to Heaven by my own deeds. There's just no way.
But God made a plan when sin entered the world..He sent Jesus, a perfect, sinless, man.. to die on the cross for our sins so that we can finally have that bridge to get to Heaven.
And that 'bridge'..is Jesus Christ Himself. By having faith in Jesus Christ as being my redeemer, Saviour..and my only hope to get to Heaven, I will be saved. And you can too : )
But there's more to it than that. It's faith and it's also making Him your Lord. Lord of your life. I'm still struggling myself in making Him my Lord. Most times, unfortunately, I make myself my own 'lord', if you know what I mean. The way I sometimes live..makes it seem like I'm the 'god' of my life..that I've put myself in His place. I'm still a work-in-progress though. And that's perfectly fine : )
I'm learning to be humble, and just praying constantly to have my heart softened, to love others like He loves them.

Anyway, sorry that this ended up being a long response. I just felt it in my heart to share this with you. If you'd like, I'd be happy to pray for you in any area in your life that you'd like His help, healing, restoration, comfort, in.
And I'm glad I met you, too.
