I've only once used the male base, when I was doing achievements. It was fun to use the skin from Lawful Master for him, though. I didn't have to worry about bottoms, since I had the Nightmare's spider base on. xD

Layering like that is just so weird. There are also a couple of tops I've found that remove ears you've equipped, too. Those shouldn't even be on the same layer. xD Even a ponytail gets unequipped by some of the tops.
