About

My name is Tamiya Ryuji, son of Tamiya Nyan and my late mother Nobunaga Riko. While in the Republic of the Misty Isles I hold the military rank of Major I am also the heir to the Izumi Daimyo in the New Empire of Japan by birth.

I am a second generation Kensaido Bushi, trained directly by the strict tutelage of my father and granted the marks of power by my stepmother Tamiya Alekysis.

While I may be the heir to the Izumi Daimyo because I do not adhere strictly to a "Traditionalist" existence and embrace technology I would never be seen as a legitimate successor nor find a single loyal retainer anywhere in the New Empire of Japan. Traveling across the Pacific in this Post-Apocalyptic Earth is a monumental task in and of itself - not truly worthy of the efforts to simply be denied my birthright. Truthfully, I am happy with my life as a Specialist Member of the Republic's military and due to my status as a Kensaido Bushi I have a level of autonomy not afforded to many others within the service.

I spent much of my early life raised on a parallel Earth under the direct care of my mother's parents in a massive fortress city meant to protect humans that had all undergone a genetic treatment to extend their natural lifespan.

The only danger in that world were those that had also undergone this miracle genetic treatment but suffered a terrifying side effect 5-10 years after it was administered. While they retained their longevity their intellectual state and body structure underwent what can only be described as a devolution to something half way between human and beast. These unfortunate people were called "Recessives" by the inhabitants of all of the fortress cities and they could be found lurking anywhere.

They were both pitied and hated at the same time by the inhabitants of the Fortress Cities and were shown no quarter when they encroached upon human territories or humans traveling between the Fortress cities.

There were those in remote parts of the world that did not receive the genetic treatment and right up until I departed that world for the one within which I was born they were still finding humans that had managed to remain hidden, safe and guarded against the Recessives.

I do not like to take life needlessly and prefer to avoid unnecessary combat where I can.

When necessary though I am an proficient swordsman, a marksman with energy rifles, energy pistols, automatic and semi-automatic rifles. I know my way around heavy weapons, sub-machine guns, spears and knives as well but I haven't qualified as a marksman in the first two nor would I classify myself as terribly proficient with the latter two.

The only magic I can practice involves some of the martial art techniques which I have learned and the tattoos my stepmother bestows upon all Kensaido Bushi; Which are to produce functional examples of a semi-opaque suit of magic armor, a semi-opaque magic katana, a semi-opaque magic wakizashi or to produce a dove that will follow commands loyally such as to deliver messages or provide service as a spotter from above and circling above the desired target, object or location. I am classified as a Major Psychic with the minor abilities Telekinesis, Telepathy, Sixth Sense, Clairvoyance, Mind Block and Alter Aura.

I am fluent in English, the derivative dialect that emerged three centuries following the cataclysm referred to as American, Elvish, Japanese, fairly fluent in Spanish, a little less in Aztec and can hold real basic conversations in North American sign language. I am literate in English, the American sub-dialect, Japanese and somewhat in Elvish.

Prior to learning the ways of the Kensaido Bushi I was a freelance guide, escort and explorer commonly referred to as a "Wilderness Scout." As a result I can hold my own in most any climate or environment, I'm a skilled navigator, hunter and an obsessive Cartographer.

Adventuring is of great interest to me, no matter how close or far from home it takes me - even if it means venturing into a parallel world entirely!

When I'm not doing my duties for the Republic of the Misty Isles or Adventuring though I do have a few other interests. I enjoy art, whittling, sculpting, philosophy, history, gymnastics, running, traditional fencing and boxing. I'm self-taught in operating a computer and can do simple maintenance and repair work as well.
