I want to you to look at me.
Look me in the eye and tell me.
Do you see me,
Like I see me?
Like a girl whose life is full of hardships,
Good days and bad,
Happy ways and sad.
When you talk to me,
What goes though your mind?
When I look at you,
What do you feel?
Do you be-friend me because,
You see me for me,
Or a pretty face,
Or just a pittiful soul?
Tell me what you think of me.
Because,
I refuse,
I REFUSE!
To be another
lonely leaf on the tree,
Cloud in the sky,
Fish in the sea.
I refuse,
To be anything,
Other than me.
You may want me to be
One of those,
Middle school statistics,
But I don't want that in life.
I want someone to love me.
I want to be able
To live my life
In peace
Harmony
And in love.
I don't want to have to live day to day trying to get by.
Digging in trash cans and living on the streets because,
People took what they saw,
And took advantage of what they thought.
Now,
Look at me.
Look me in the eye and tell me what
You see.
Do you want me for me?
Or just what you see?
