Well, Spanish isn't so bad. Neither is Esperanto. I still speak the other one from time to time (very, very brokenly) because I have Spanish-speaking friends, but the second one I use primarily to correspond online, just as something to do when I feel frustrated with Japanese. I really doubt I could speak it at all-- I've never tried-- but the learning was very intuitive.

Although... Yeah. There is always that lingering desire to speak Japanese in response to another foreign language. Just because that's what you're used to. Incomprehensible sounds? Better respond in Japanese! xD

Even if you feel like it's moving slowly, you're probably absorbing a lot from the repetition. A solid foundation will do wonders for anything, especially for a native English speaker (I presume?) learning Japanese. I swear that fluency requires obsession. I'm gearing up to take the Japanese National Proficiency Test 2kyu this summer, and I just feel utterly overwhelmed sometimes, especially working with all Japanese language study books. xD "The lightness (weight) of exception or degree," it tells me. I finally come to understand this means "at least!"

Not that we can complain too much, eh? English certainly has her quirks.

日本語の人気が増大するようにと So as to increase the popularity of Japanese (you can use the same verb to mean, 'to increase the power!')
もちろんS.I.N.のためにいっしょうに And of course, for the sake of since (xD;; With an extra superfluous isshouni typo for, uh... Authenticity)

What I was trying to get across, anyway. I'm not totally sure if 見えられる is the correct usage, but I think it is.

ように means something like, "to move towards, for the sake of" You might've covered it in class by now, even if you haven't covered passive potential verbs.

Ask me anything~~ Though I'm almost certain to be as confused as anyone else, I really love linguistics.

I wasn't sure if you were Japanese or not-- either way is fine with me. x3 I just want to practice as much as I am; I'm really not fluent at all. Especially speaking. Which is really terrible, considering that I live here.

It's just that it's a language I see very rarely when I'm not expecting it, so I was really excited! How long have you been studying Japanese?
